Thai Square - South Kensington in Kensington and Chelsea

I dropped into Thai Square on a rainy London afternoon, since it’s right by the Natural History Museum. Sadly, the service was just as dreary as the weather—really cold and not welcoming at all. When I asked if they could make the fried rice spicier, they said they can only give me some chili paste on the side! I went with the vegetarian jungle curry, but honestly, it was pretty disappointing. It lacked both texture and flavour—just really bland overall. To top it off, the prices felt way too steep for what was served. Out of all the Thai places I’ve tried, this one was definitely the most forgettable. I won’t be coming back, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll miss it.

The food tastes good to Thai people. The staffs are good. Everything is delicious. The staffs, Nong Da and Pitchee, are lovely and provide very good service. I am impressed. I will come again this year.

Thai Square was suggested to us by a close friend while we were visiting Science Museum in London. And it was really a great experience. The food was perfectly to our taste with the right amount of spices and it was a wholesome meal. The best part was even my 5 year old who doesn't usually eat outside of her specific choices ;) enjoyed her egg fried rice. Our waitress Mim was also very kind and helpful in clarifying our queries. All in all it was a good experience.

We went to eat and it cost almost £40 per person. We ordered panang curry, but this restaurant doesn't have peanuts in it, so I'm not sure why it's called panang curry and it also has bell peppers in it 😭

Mim our waitress was so nice to us. She prepared a table super quickly and she was very patient explaining all the questions that we have. Food was very delicious. It is a very cozy atmosphere.

The food was good and tasted authentic. I especially enjoyed the papaya salad—it reminded me of the one I had in Thailand. However, I was disappointed with the service. We asked for a small bowl to help my 3-year-old son eat his fried rice more easily, but were told they don’t provide small bowls unless soup or steamed rice is ordered. We double-checked with two different staff members, so I don’t believe it was a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place for families with young children.

Extremely fast and courteous service. The curry was delicious but I didn’t have space for the mango rice so I was a little sad .

Disappointing experience. I recently visited the restaurant 29.04.2025, and I must say, my experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a rather rude manner, which set a negative tone for the rest of my visit. After this unwelcoming introduction, I attempted to locate the toilet, following behind another gentleman who was also in search of it. Unfortunately, we ended up going in the wrong direction near a staff only area. There as a staff member who then shouted at me specifically about going the wrong way. I then sought assistance from said male staff member, but their attitude was less than helpful. Instead of offering proper guidance, they simply pointed us to a sign on the wall that was not at all visible as we approached the stairs. This lack of consideration is absolutely unacceptable. The service needs significant improvement. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I certainly won’t be returning anytime soon.

Located near the natural history museum, very good dishes and impeccable service (family friendly) The only downside may be the weakness of the dessert menu but at the same time the dishes are plentiful enough to do without it.
