Thai on the River in Kensington and Chelsea

Being going to the Bangkok for 45 years, went on Wednesday whilst in London to find it had closed its doors, tears were shed.

Extremely fast and courteous service. The curry was delicious but I didn’t have space for the mango rice so I was a little sad .

Stick to the Thai menu - perhaps that is the better one. The rump steak was ordered medium rare - came out well over medium and was very chewy. Second try was medium rare in appearance, but still very chewy. I don’t think it was a rump cut of beef steak - probably better slow cooked in the massaman curry. My husband ordered the angus beef burger and that looked great to me (compared with my rump steak) but was very basic in its construction. Caramelized onion or some chutney would have gone a long way. Service was great, and they handled the complaint very well, but they still charged for the uneaten second steak!

The banana fritters for dessert are my favourite dessert I’ve had in a long time!

Average food quality at reasonable prices with terrible service. Long wait and unfriendly staff made me remove tip from the bill for the first time in my life... Would recommend trying other (great) options nearby!
