Horrible experience! They refused me to get in, because I have a drink on hand! Pointed at me,“Please stand outside of the door!” This is rude and ridiculous!

This is a Thai family run business. the place is not much to look at, it needs a refurb. However if your main concern is the food, I highly recommend it. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and can vouch for the soups, the pad Thai and the range of Thai curry’s. For desert they do a sweet banana rice cake that is great. The prices are very affordable for the location and they offer a 2 course lunch menu. The food usually arrives within 5-10 mins.

Ordered from Uber eats so cannot attest to the ambience however red curry lacked flavour and was watery. Would not order again. Bland.

Compared to other restaurants in Gloucester Road, Khob Kuhn looks tired and a little shabby. You can see where pictures had hung on the walls, but never replaced. Furniture is well worn. We were quite tired from our days adventures and decided on takeaway. The chicken wings were tasty but a little over cooked, the pad Thai nice but would have benefitted from some lime slices, a sweet and sour pork was quite basic with a very thin sauce and the green curry of beef tasted good, but both the chicken and beef were overcooked and the few pieces of beef and aubergine came swimming in the green curry sauce. In general, our portions were small. Overall, if you are looking for cheap in South K, this will suit. Other reviewers have had better meals.

When it comes to Thailand food we have our regular choices. We're also somewhat spoilt by having an excellent Thai restaurant back home in Yorkshire. When it comes to value and the quality of the good Khob Khun is excellent. The furnishings are basic and a little tired, which could easily put some diners off. We had a soup each and a green curry and a red curry to share. All tasty and as we expected. Al this with two portions of ride and two Singha for less than £40 in Kensington. I recommend you give it a try.

Friendly people in a small restaurant that does a lot of take-out. This is definitely not the best Thai restaurant around, but it does some things simply and well, more like mum's home cooking than a serious attempt at Thai cuisine. The chicken coconut soup was a perfect example, with the right balance of sweet and sour but lacking the complexity from the perfect balancing of kaffir lime leaves, citrus, galangal and lemongrass. The dumplings were a little on the small side, but again, tsty in a simple way. The squid rings were the largest and most tender I have ever had, but were let down a little by the tired oil used for frying them. Steamed fish was our main course, and it came with a small quantity of a lovely cilantro based hot sauce, perfectly cooked and with absolutely no frills. The wine was reasonably priced, although served a little warmer than people from the USA might expect. Overall, tasty, filling and with cost to quality ratio that was spot on. It will not win any awards, but neither will it disappoint.

A friend and I were looking for an affordable thai dinner. Mission accomplished - 26 for dinner for 2: soup, curry, rice and pad thai. I have celiac disease and was initially concerned when our ESL server didn't even know what gluten is. When I tried to make sure all ingredients are GF he just agreed with everything even though it was clear he didn't know what I was talking about. After we placed our order another server came to ask me about my dietary needs and we cleared up the confusion. Food was decent, not best Thai I've ever had but pretty good, quick and cheap.

We were looking for something different when we found this small, authentic Thai restaurant. The food was descent, and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The prices are extremely affordable; the wait staff are cute and quite sweet. During our meal, I commented to our group, "this green curry is actually green curry (colorfully so!). Was that olive oil? Try this spot for something different. It won't disappoint you.

I ordered Pad Thai noodles, which was a bit disappointing (perhaps I had in mind what I had in Thailand where you can get the ingredients), my wife's green thai curry was ok.Might go back and try something different I liked the place it's self, staff were nice and my toddler son enjoyed being there.I was a bit surprised at how much I paid, more than I thought.

I was only in the place about 45 minutes and in that time I managed a starter and main with side. Coconut soup was lovely and the seafood salad very nice. Lone waitress was attentive and friendly. Prices were very good for London. Recommend it

I stay in the Gloucester Road area of London regularly with my blind colleague and I wanted to try out the Khob Khun Thai restaurant as it is in easy walking distance of our hotel and the menu looked very appealing and good value. I was, however, mortified that even though the restaurant was almost empty, I was refused a table as I had a guide dog with me. Despite protesting that they were breaking the law for not allowing my colleague and I to eat in the restuarant we were turned away regardless. This review is therefore to highlight the appalling customer service i received, not the food!

We have been to Thailand and love Thai food. We came across this restaurant walking up Gloucester Road. Staff very pleasant but food not authentic or fresh. Mixed starters came very quickly after we ordered and we were sure we heard a microwave ping just before our starter was served. Everything on the plate was burnt!.Main courses were equally as poor. A lot of watery sauce with no substance or taste.

From the outside you might think whether you would like to eat in the restaurant or not but do not let this put you off. This seems to be a family run restaurant - the lady who served us was very nice and friendly. It is a small place which is in need of refurbishment, however, the food really makes up for it. We enjoyed a very delicious meal there - had starter, main and dessert all for a very good price. We observed that it seemed to be very popular as it offered a take away service and we could understand why. There are not many tables so it's best to either go very early or to book in advance to avoid disappointment. We did also observe whilst we were there that as there was only the cook and the one waitress, when she took our order and brought it to the chef downstairs she missed potential customers as they were waiting to be seated but gave up when they were waiting for more than 5 mins for someone to seat them - there was no one at the front desk at all whilst orders were taken and brought downstairs to the cook.I would definitely return there if we were in the area again. The food was very delicious :-)

The other reviewer must be a friend or family member. I had a truly terrible meal here - it arrived within three minutes of ordering, which is never a good sign! Lacklustre, over cooked veg with no taste. Disinterested male staff member, just rubbish food. Please don't bother!

You would have thought that these type of 'restaurants' had disappeared with time, with people's better knowledge of 'exotic' cuisines and with an increasingly number of places - particularly in London - offering the real thing. Fitou's actually reminds those unfortunate people that decide to dine at its premises of those nasty, formica-laden, quick and dirty joints that were kind of popular in the UK about 20 years ago. 'Exotic' food to the British public was about ketchup on spaghetti or super hot tikka masalas, in short - together with kebabs - all that nasty food that was served to people leaving the pub rather inebriated and searching for something not to taste or enjoy, but food to numb their state of drunkenness. Apart from the nonchalant, 'who gives a ****' attitude of the 'staff', upon which people have commented here before, the food was disastrous. Unbelievable large amounts of oyster and soy sauce obliterating any taste. Ingredients on your plate indistinguishable from one other. Most concerning were all the mucky, charred bits obviously coming from the bottom of a pretty dirty wok, all to be seen on the plate served to you. God knows last time those woks were properly lined, let alone cleaned. Surely, looking at the customers there, Fitou's still gets away with it thanks to an audience that doesn't ask for any finesse, perhaps in life as well as when it comes to food. But this is properly ghastly food, an insult to Thai's cooking tradition, a sad reminder of a culture that thrives by disguising 'exotic' food and serving it as something else. Awful.
