One of the best lunches I have ever had in London. Also one of the most genuine waiters, such polite service with a smile. Food is out of this world, cannot wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu.

Patara Thai, Oxford Circus – A Touch of Thailand, but Missing the Spice Popped into Patara Thai near Oxford Circus with high hopes and a craving for my all-time favourite: Thai Green Curry! Sadly, while the presentation was on point and the service friendly and efficient (k̄hxbkhuṇ ka!), the curry itself lacked that signature Thai kick — the fiery blend of heat, herbs, and richness that makes the dish sing. This one felt a little muted, more Oxford Street than Chiang Mai. The menu is varied, with lots to tempt the eye, though I’d say it’s a little pricey for the portion and flavour delivery. The vibe? Quite commercial — polished and modern but missing that warm, local Thai charm. Big plus points: the Singa beer on draught (cheers to that!) and the beautifully presented plates — every dish arrived looking like a work of art. Overall, while Patara offers a sleek experience, for me it was more “mild lemongrass” than full-on chilli heat”. The food was delicious. And Napoleon gave us excellent customer service. We had Som Tum (delightfully spicy) and prawn rice rolls to start, followed by green curry. The beef in the green curry was so tender. Bit pricey but that’s not unexpected due to location, quality of food and great service.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants in London—perfect for celebrations or any special occasion. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is truly exceptional. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious dishes. Every time I go shopping in Oxford, I make sure to stop by here! Massaman Lamp is a must!! Very delicious. For Thai people, you can order exactly what kind of flavor you like. The cook is Thai.

This restaurant is wonderful. The service as soon as you step through the door is amazing - the staff are very friendly and attentive and make you feel very comfortable. The decor is tasteful and the furniture is comfortable. The food is amazing, 10/10. Myself and a friend ordered 2 starters (sweetcorn fritters and vegetable spring rolls). They came out piping hot and tasted extremely fresh in the best way. For mains, 1 got the pad thai (really good, the chick was great and the noodles and veg really pulled it together so well. loved the addition option that allowed to add peanut pieces at my own pace). Second main was the chicken masseman and egg noodles (the chicken came over lit candles which allowed it to stay hot the whole meal and as someone who doesn't always enjoy rice, the noodles were an excellent accompaniment). The portion sizes are really good too. For drinks, lychee martini and mock tail lychee drink. They were both really tasty. No complaints on this meal at all, will be back again for sure.

I tried it a long time ago and said I would try it again. The flavor of the food in general is delicious and they taste good, but from my recent experience, in particular, ordering the green curry and the shrimp was raw. When I saw them, they responded to me and apologized and gave me a discount. Would I try it again? The answer is no. There are other Thai restaurants in London that deserve the praise they received

We booked this place as it was the perfect location if you are seeing a show at the Palladium, 3 minute walk away. The restaurant was busy which I imagine is always the case due to location, I would suggest booking in advance. The menu had a great selection and there is a picture and description of every dish so you know exactly what you are ordering. Service was friendly and quick. The only thing that let it down was the fact that they brought out 2 very hot plates for us but by the time they came with the meals the plates were cold and all of the sharing food we had was only warm Would definitely return though

La comida de mi pareja llegó, sin embargo, solo arroz para mí. Mi plato fuerte finalmente apareció después de que mi arroz estaba frío. I usually love Thai cuisine because it's light and flavoursome but this was way too greasy and heavy. The service and environment were nice as was the presentation, but the taste was no more than average. Wouldn't go again.

I knew most likely I’d be charged for the second order or rice but the first I mistakenly thought was included. In short… 55 pounds… 70 dollars for curry rice and two starters (fried corn cakes and garlic okra) is ridiculous.

Never disappoints! We come to London once a year and always make sure to fit in Patara into our stay. Consistently good!

Mi nieta y yo llegamos alrededor de las 5 PM para la cena temprana - éramos los únicos huéspedes en el restaurante. La música era fuerte e irritante, no era tailandesa. Le pregunté al personal si la música podría ser rechazada o, mejor aún, ser música tailandesa como la música Luk Thung, que es hermosa, especialmente adecuada para un ambiente de restaurante tailandés. No se hizo nada y después del primer plato ya no pude aguantar más y así me fui. Mi nieta llamó a su abuelo gruñón, sin embargo, y así que comimos el plato principal, Pad Thai, y luego me fui. El propietario no parece ser consciente de que la música house es importante - francamente el silencio sería mucho mejor que esa horrible música que se estaba reproduciendo. La próxima vez que visite, si es que alguna vez, traeré tapones para los oídos.

Been coming to this branch of Patara for many years. The food has been of a consistently high quality over that time. Our favour dish is the lamb shank mussaman which we have every time we come here!

Dined as a family of 6 (including 2 young children). Very attentive staff and absolutely amazing food all round! My husband and I visited 8 years ago and it's still as good as we remembered!

Very friendly atmosphere with great food. It's a little expensive but the quality of the food justifies it. Shout out to Napoleon who was very welcoming and made us feel at home.

Nos reservaron en Patara Soho, pero un par de días antes llamaron para decir que iban a cerrar por 2 meses y nuestra reserva fue cambiada a Patara Oxford Circus. Llegamos a las 7. 20 para nuestros 7. 30 cenas y nuestra mesa no estaba lista. Había desaparecido a las 8 pm antes de que nos sentáramos. Había un joven con una voz y una risa increíblemente altas que lo estaba haciendo desagradable para todos. Nuestros entrantes llegaron antes de nuestras bebidas. No voy a entrar en cada plato, pero nada de eso fue memorable por las razones correctas. Todo fue un poco olvidable y decepcionantemente totalmente sin picante de chile. Fue un final decepcionante para nuestros días en Londres. Nos dimos por vencidos y decidimos irnos rápidamente mientras el tipo ruidoso gritaba.

I emailed in advance to say we were on a tight deadline due to being moved restaurants. The welcome we received was amazing, the whole team understood our needs but dealt with it in a way that we didn't feel we were rushed. The food was out of this world, especially the duck spring rolls. And a scoop of ice cream with an accompanying "Happy birthday" topped off a 5 star visit. We will definitely be back and be recommending to everyone.
