The food is generally ok. The attention to detail can slip when they're quite busy. Overall staff are nice.

I recently visited on a Sunday evening at 8:24 PM, expecting to have a nice dinner. However, I was really disappointed by the experience. When we arrived, we were told by staff that the last order was at 8:30PM, which came as a shock since the front door clearly stated that the restaurant closes at 10 PM. Typically, I’d expect the last order to be around 9:00 or even 9:30, but 8:30 PM felt far too early, especially on a weekend night. To make matters worse, we waited about five minutes at the front door without being acknowledged, which added to the frustration. Overall, it felt like the staff was more interested in closing up early than serving customers. If the last order really is that early, it should be made much clearer to avoid misleading customers.

Today we had a dinner for my daughter’s birthday. The food was amazing! The service was excellent. Specially “Surat “ was exceptional! He was friendly, very helpful, accommodating , prompt and efficient. We all were so impressed about the service and food that couldn’t resist to write about feedback. We will come again

Normally my expectations for Thai food outside of Asia is very low but was pleasantly surprised. I had Tom Yum soup, Phad Thai and Mango Sticky rice and all of them tasted very authentic just like in Asia. Recommend if you are looking for authentic Thai food in London!

Beware opening hours incorrect: be there by 9:15pm !!

A few months ago I had dinner at Patara restaurant in Bangkok. The food was very delicious, the restaurant was very nice and the service was great. So I thought I would try Patara restaurant in London. But the menu was not the same. The food was not as good as the one in Bangkok, the service was great and the restaurant was not as nice as in Bangkok too.

Very good Asian. The welcome is great. Finally was able to eat vegetables in my dish which was very good.

A proper Thai restaurant in London. The food is authentic, very tasty with a few locations around London. This one is just behind Oxford Circus and is very nice. Price is fair for what you are getting and it reminds me of Thailand :)

Patara never disappoints. It is always a great and real Thai that is also not expensive. Pad Thai is a classic that is always good and their tempura fish, which is a star dish, is always up to par. Good food is guaranteed and so is a good time, thanks to the extraordinary attention of Napoleon, who is attentive and efficient like no one else. In short, a great place and real food.

The meal was even presented as "vegetarian", however, after trying two bites of the curry, I realised that the curry was not vegetarian and I had been given chicken. I do not eat meat due to religious and moral grounds and I was horrified. I did not want to make a fuss during the lunch as I was with a business client but this is totally unacceptable. Luckily, I was not allergic to the food. I was also charged the full amount for the meal. Upon notifying the restaurant of this, I'm pleased to say that they did rectify the situation by conducting a thorough investigation and have taken corrective measures to ensure that this will never happen again. They have also retrained their staff. This is very much appreciated.

Great location and chilled atmosphere as not busy at 4pm. Jeni, our host was very attentive and provided a great service. Food was not very warm but did not lack flavour. We will definitely come back.

Thoroughly enjoyed coming back to Patara. The Tom Yum and Crab Yellow Curry were exceptional, and our server Ijad was extremely attentive and helpful.

Service and food were excellent. Very nice size portions, fresh & tasty food, beautifully presented. Friendly & professional staff as well. Was probably the hottest by day in London today and they have wonderful air conditioning.

I have tried lots of different Patara restaurants in London. Most of them are good but Oxford Circus is far away the best. We are visiting Oxford Circus twice a month at least. Food quality is very good and we always appreciated with that. On the other hand service quality is fantastic. Mr. Napoleon is in charge most of the times and he is doing his job very well. I can claim that Patara Oxford Service has the best service quality in London if Mr. Nopoleon is around.

We always have a wonderful time at Patara, a family-run Thai restaurant in Oxford Circus. Napoleon and the staff always welcome us warmly and take great care of us - we particularly appreciate the vegetarian options as I am allergic to seafood (they make fabulous Thai curries without the fish sauce for us and are always very accommodating). Patara is one of the very few restaurants people with seafood allergies can eat at. Highly recommended!

Best Thai Restaurant I’ve been to! We were served by Napoleon and he was super friendly and helpful from beginning to end. The interior was beautiful and the food was just out of this world 🙌🏻

I really hate to give a poor review as I know how very hard everyone works in hospitality but London is hugely competitive and we could have gone to any number of Thai Restaurants. Patara is in the heart of the tourist area and so was bound to be busy but there were a few empty tables even on this Saturday night - whereas I could not get a table at four other Thai restaurants I had contacted. The welcome was warm and friendly and the menu varied. But sadly the food was not good. My Pad Tai was dry, sticky and tepid. My starter of mushrooms was soggy and flavourless. The rest of my family said they quite enjoyed their food; the beef cheek in particular. It's expensive for what we had - including £4.95 for a small bottle of water.

My first time at Patara, I actually was trying to get a booking at a local east London Thai that is highly rated but failed to, I started scrambling the internet for somewhere to go. After much research I saw that Patara kept coming up highly recommended. I looked at the menu and was sold! We went for a birthday meal and wow, it did not disappoint, we had the mixed platter to share which was gorgeous, I went for the lightly batter sea bass, my mum went for the Thai green curry and my fiancé a confit duck summer special, all tasted fresh and so unbelievably incredible. The cocktails were delicious and they had an excellent bottle of Sancerre. It all went down a treat but what made our experience even more special was the service, they super attentive, they even made a happy birthday plate for my mum. It’s quite pricey when you are eating two courses with drinks but it was delightful so worth every penny, plus the mains are large portions. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Summer is perfect for eating delicious Thai food. Every dish is carefully prepared, and the durian dessert at the end is so fragrant.

Fancy Asian restaurant with good food. The entire restaurant smells of lemongrass so feels very authentic. I had the fried mushroom starter and vegeterian pad chai. The portion sizes are large. The only thing is that tables are very close to each other and you can practically hear 3-4 conversations at a time.

Cleo’s service was great and polite. She was onservibg the table all the time and take an action instantly. My friend and I had a pad thai but unfortunately it was not good enough, it was chewy and too sweety. That’s why, I dont recommend for food.

One of my favourite restaurants, the Lamb Shank Massaman was absolutely amazing and the dish I always order whenever I'm here. The service is always brilliant and the atmosphere is perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Patara has easily been one of the best Thai experiences I have had in London. The food was absolutely fantastic with great presentation and a great depth of flavour from the fresh ingredients they use. The service we received was top notch and Cleo in particular was splendid. She helped us from start to finish and always greeted us with the greatest smile. Definitely recommend!

Average at best the food hygiene label is only 4 which is not expected for something targeting the high end market the food quality also wasn’t as good a sign standards are slipping
