At last a central London fish restaurant to rave about ! Delicious fresh fish, tasty side dishes and helpful, friendly manager and staff. A real find.

Great seafood experience! The scallops, lobster Thermidor, and grilled shrimp were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Service was pleasant. Loved it!

Después de unos 15-20 minutos regresó a tomar nuestro pedido y dijo que no sé y no puedo averiguar. Este fue uno de los 5 pescados frescos que aparecen en la pizarra. Cualquier otro restaurante de pescado en el que haya estado tendría la procedencia listada o dada a conocer. Segunda nota. Pedimos dos tuberías. Nunca nos preguntaron si estábamos interesados en un titular o cualquier lado. Una vez más - servicio inexistente. No hay lados de la red, así que ¿no sería esa una oportunidad de venta? Después de esperar unos 30 minutos para nuestra comida (tiempo durante el cual nuestro camarero nunca nos verificó) finalmente nos dieron de comer. Tercera nota. Nunca comprobado por el camarero durante toda la comida. Nunca. No podíamos esperar a irnos. Aunque la comida era buena (no genial) no volveríamos y no recomendaría. El servicio es tan importante como la comida. Para colmo - añaden 12. Cargo del 5% por servicio sin servicio. Por lo general, dejamos de ser generosos con nuestras propinas, incluso por encima de una factura acolchada. No esta noche.

La comida era especialmente buena, todos estábamos muy impresionados. Fuimos atendidos por Banu que era amable y eficiente. Encantador ambiente relajado, lo recomendaría!

Habíamos estado en esta sucursal hace unos años y más recientemente hemos visitado el lugar de Covent Garden. Fue una noche tranquila cuando fuimos tan poco ambiente. El personal era amable y nos sentimos cómodos y relajados. Para empezar teníamos sopa de pescado y cebo blanco, y pescado con patatas fritas y bouillabaisse para nuestra red. La sopa estaba buena y el cebo blanco también, aunque evita si no te gusta la comida picante, aunque puedes pedir que se deje de lado la pimienta de cayena. El pescado estaba muy bueno aunque las patatas fritas se habían cocinado demasiado. El bouillabaisse venía en una cacerola de cobre y era una porción muy generosa. Tenía sabor y grandes trozos de pescado blanco, así como mejillones y un par de gambas. Vino con pan de masa madre. El restaurante tiene muchos clientes que regresan, lo que no sería el caso si la comida no fuera consistentemente buena.

Taking care of 11 Americans is no small feat, and the staff at Fishworks went above and beyond. The food was impeccable and the service was top notch. we had such a blast with them and our dinner there will forever be etched in our memories forever. It was a very special night!

Welcomed and served by friendly and attentive staff. We were able to share a meal being the ale battered fish and chips which was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed. Overall, it was a great dining experience in London.

Took my family here during our trip. Ordered both versions of the fish and chips. The Halibut had more flavour. The chips were perfect. The Mussels were the best we've ever had, just wish we had more bread or a spoon to soak up all the soup!

The environment, service and food were nice. We had an enjoyable time. We especially loved the sauces that came with the sourdough bread at the beginning.

We walked in and ordered the scallops, sharing platter and a lobster to take away, our order was displayed well with the same attention to detail as if we were eating on the premises, kamils costumer service is perfect and nothing was to much trouble.

The service at the restaurant was shockingly bad. It’s unclear what criteria the waitstaff use to decide how to treat their guests—maybe they flip a coin, or perhaps they judge based on appearance. If you're a tourist dressed in casual, comfortable clothes without flashy designer logos, chances are you'll be treated poorly. Initially, you might be greeted warmly and your food served promptly. But when it comes time to pay the bill, everything changes. If your Apple Pay happens to fail (even if it's due to their terminal), you'll get judgmental looks as if you're some kind of beggar. They’ll continue to treat you this way until you pull out a physical card to pay. After payment, the server will simply turn their back on you—no "thank you for coming," no acknowledgment of the terminal issue. They’ll just walk away without a goodbye. Honestly, we were lucky not to get a kick in the back on our way out. I've experienced bad service before, but this was a first. It was so frustrating that I had to go back and tell the server directly: the food was good, but the service was terrible.

So I was invited by a very good, old school friend of 50 years to go to lunch along with his cousin and a TV Chaser, Shaun Wallace. The food was faultless, absolutely delicious. It was hot and presented well. The premises were clean and tidy. I would definitely go back. 💯

After so many days we had very good fish and chips…. Best part was was very well cooked and its was very fresh….. I been there only for once but I can say if you get chance for second time I won’t miss it….. Happy and highly recommend to people who want to have good fresh fish and cheaps…….. Highly recommended

Amazing seafood and the way of cooking and serving the dishes is extremely mouthwatering. The taste every time is delicious and the staff who work there are extremely great.

On Sunday evening I called for fish and chips, and found a nice choice of fish for this (halibut) done in crispy batter with the chips and peas. Sometimes this is all I really want, and was glad to discover "Fishworks"!

A high class fishy restaurant; ie: we had a terrific fish and chips. Not what you find on a street corner, but an exquisit meal.

Our second visit, lovely fresh seafood. Great service. We didn’t book but got a table when it was quite busy. Mussels were a bit smaller than before ( maybe a seasonal thing?) we had mussels and king prawn starter followed by a sharing platter. They didn’t have any more crab but substituted it for lobster. We were okay with that.

I had high hopes as the menu showed allergens clearly and it looked like simple food cooked well, but my experience here was poor. The dressed crab was not enjoyable as had lots of the cartilage pieces cut and mixed in with the crab meat, and the seabass did not taste fresh. We asked for the bill and then after waiting for 20 minutes got up and asked for it so we could leave to have dessert elsewhere. We were there on a Tuesday night and it was very empty when the surrounding resturants were busy... this is never a good sign. In all I would say this is an average resturant, with just above average pricing, but with so many other great resturants close by (i.e. Casa de Frango and Ziggy Green 5 minutes away) I won't visit here again.

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at your newly refurbished restaurant and let me tell you, the food wasn’t the only thing on the menu that was top-notch—so was the entertainment! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Kat, the manager, who I’m convinced missed her true calling as a stand-up comedian. From the get-go, Kat had us in stitches with her quick wit and hilarious one-liners. She had us laughing so hard that we almost forgot we were there to eat! But don’t let her humor fool you—Kat runs a tight ship. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. According to Kat Fishworks is the only place in London that do the Tuna right ("Tuna here is soo rare that it will swim all they way to your table by itself" :D. The ambiance was warm and soo inviting, and we got to listen to the next door Bentley's jazz life band for the price of Fishworks! Highly recommend! The manager said she only takes tips in reviews so there you go! :)

Not too large a restaurant, and just tucked off the Main Street (although Vine St opposite is not much to look at), the location provides a respite from the hustle. Wid range of seafood choices, from your traditional fish & chips to Asian inspired flavours. The Devon crab is tasty and more readily enjoyed when dressed (de-shelled). The spicy mackerel was not so spicy but well balanced. Had to squeeze in the crumble & custard dessert!! Service is prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. Yanni was lovely and she took great care of us. Thank you!! This is my husband go to place when in London so you must try too!

Yes yes yes! We have eaten here 3 or 4 times over the years. Once again we have had a beautiful meal. Staff are really friendly and helpful . Can’t recommend you try this place enough. 5 or even 10 ⭐️.

If you really love fish don’t go. Overly priced not even very fresh. The £9 fish soup is about 5 spoons of liquid, it has no taste of fish but only very salty tomato, and it came with a pathetically small slice of bread - the size of half a £5 note. Fish platter has little content. Spend over £100 for 3 including child but ate very little will never go back.

A bright cheerful space with good food. Sourdough platter was 6£ a pop but totally worth paying for!

The main meal and food was great. I disliked the dessert. Previously I had a realy good Apple crumble with custard. However, This time, the apples had been kind either caraelised before or cookd in a heavy syrup, which made the dish sickly sweet and spoiled the custard with the spreading sugary syrup

I've reviewed this place before and have also reviewed the other two Fishworks restaurants, one of which I shall never set foot in again. But, this place is different. In April I took a group friends here. They were bowled over by the quality of the food and the service and atmosphere. It was nothing new to me as I had been coming here for years and it was consistently good. If you've not been here you really should try it, especially if you have been disappointed by Fishworks, Catherine Street. This pace is on a different level altogether.

Very delicious fish foods are available… we tested oyster and seabuss.. really it was very well and taste was nice.. seabuss was cooked very nicely and simply since so fresh it was delicious. The oyster served was good and fresh. The prices are little high however nice foods are served.

Our server Damian was so attentive! Will definitely be back!

I loved seafood there, and it's funny enough. A friend of mine today there, she enjoys as much just as I do.

I have often eaten in this restaurant and enjoyed it. This time was different. The food was fine but the service was execrable. Only six tables were eating, but the two waitresses made heavy weather of it. They made no effort to take our order at the start nor to provide the bill at the end. In the interim getting their attention was an equally serious challenge as they were both busy on their mobile phone rather than looking after customers. The bill included a 12.5% service charge. I declined to pay it. I also resented getting a £4.50 bill for four small pieces of bread. In quality restaurants you don't charge for bread.

Service was very good but food lacked flavor. 3 people in our party had the seared tuna. Seasoning on it was off and no one liked it. Oven roasted sea bass was very good but I had to add salt and some lemon. Side salad looked fresh but had no flavor again. The dressing seemed to be olive oil and water. Fish and chips should have been good but batter on fish was too greasy and did not stay on fish. Worst dinner of our week vacation.

We just visited here today Fishworks because we were nearby and we were very excited to try this place with my girlfriend. We have ordered oysters,scallops,lobster, prawns seabass.These were great.We also ordered some Sides spinach and broccoli.There was a cockroach in our spinach and I was about to put it in my mouth.It was incredible disgusting and made me question about their hygiene in the kitchen. Their reaction was ‘mistakes happen’ and if we wanted some dessert on the house?!?! Never going back in there again!

This restaurant has the most delicious garlic butter sauce I ever ate 🤤 lobster 🦞 and scallops are fresh and tasty 😋 definitely will come back to try their seafood pasta & fish and chip 😍

We had a very short time in London and wanted to have an authentic English lunch of fish and chips. This restaurant went out of their way to accommodate our party of six. The server did an excellent job, all the fish is local and I even liked the mushy peas. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch.

Good choice for people who love seafood. a lot of wine / white wine or red wine for pairing with the food. 12.5% service charge will be included in the price after check bill

When I finished ordering, the waitress casually asked if I wanted some bread and I said sure. Little did I know the bread is an extra £5.75 :( Upselling is a great tool but this just felt a bit disingenuous

Terrific seafood in a central location. As good as the Covent Garden version which I loved too. Servers were friendly and attentive. It was not busy at all when I visited at 1pm on a Sunday. Very reasonable prices for such good produce and wine. Only critique is the battered cod could do with less time in the fryer - flesh was a bit chewy but still enjoyable. The atmosphere and sensible menu makes this restaurant suitable for almost any occasion, from casual lunch to dinner with the in-laws.

Great fish restaurant. The food and service was great. Very quiet mid afternoon. Everything is cooked to perfection. The staff were both friendly and efficient. We have been to the Covent Garden restaurant too. Both are very good. One of our favourite restaurants in London.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything! The Bouillabaisse was bursting with flavor and had plenty of seafood, and those king scallops were both huge and incredibly tasty, especially with the bread crumbles. Desserts didn't disappoint either; the apple and raspberry crumble was large enough to share, and while the espresso panna cotta wasn't the prettiest, it was delicious. Definitely worth a try!

Simply delicious and in my opinion reasonably priced for London.

The food arrived cold after 1 hour of waiting. The fish was over cooked. For the price of 30£ per portion this was a horrible experience.

We came here because the place was recommended to us! We loved the oysters and the wine. My issue was the main dish, I totally understand that the place a seafood but if you can’t handle more than that, you should not have offer it. I ordered the seafood linguine and it was the worst seafood pasta I ever had. The sauce was out of a can and it had only very minimal of seafood. Very disappointing, I really enjoyed everything else, my point is, stay in your lane of offering seafoods and don’t venture to other cousins.

Excellent service and really good quality produce, although there were some mistakes in the cookery: the sea bream was a little dry, the breadcrumbs on my scallop were not in the oven long enough and were, therefore, soggy rather than crunchy (but super tasty!). That said, I'd definitely go back as there were plenty of dishes in the menu that I'd like to try.

If I can put more starts, I'd have put 10 stars! Their customer service was amazing and made our dinner special for sure. Took my non British friend to try fish and chips and she absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone!
