Pataka Indian Bar & Kitchen in City of London, Westminster

Found this place when wandering along Shaftesbury Avenue the food and staff were outstanding I thoroughly recommend the crispy spinach dish it was to die for such flavours.

Heel vriendelijk personeel, super sfeervolle zaak met lekkere Indiaase gerechten die je kunt delen. In de winter kun je vragen naar een eigengemaakte, Engelse versie van gluhwein, maar bij de gerechtjes is een cocktail heerlijk. Ze zitten overigens heel centraal in hartje London.

Installe au deuxième étage nous avons pu bénéficié d’une superbe vue sur le quartier de Soho. Les spécialités indienne différente de celle servie en France fut délicieuses.

Walking in, the decoration and ambience is just fantastic. After the door shut, I was amazed at how quiet it was inside seen as it is right on Shaftesbury Avenue - kudos to the place for investing in great sound proofing! They have an inventive fusion menu of various Indian dishes. Being vegetarian we ordered a number of suitable starters and a couple of main course. The portions are quite large, particularly the main courses, so be careful not to over order. Everything tasted fantastic, I particularly liked the saag. It was all presented really well too. The staff were fantastic - plenty around and always happy to help. They were very polite. Overall I had a really great time and definitely look forward to returning.

Got my order wrong the managers seem to be more interested in checking out their mobile phones behind the bat that providing service . The food was ok Had the lamb shank needed seasoning but the prawn entree was nice The chicken Bryani was very average as the chicken was burnt and tasteless Would not go there again many other authentic Indian in London to be fair

Found by accident while looking for somewhere to grab a nice cocktail. Fabulous new venue with really nice cocktails with an Indian twist to them. Stayed for dinner after seeing the lovely variety of items on the menu. Food was delicious - the gol gappa were to die for :) Fantastic food and a really good addition to the soho drinking/dining scene.
