Pasty Presto in West Dorset

A wonderful bakery & cafe with helpful & team behind the counter making excellent coffee. The signature dish has to be the sausage roll which was incredibly tasty, meaty, savoury and all together scrumptious. There are plenty of other tempting options; sadly my wife was with me!

Had a goats cheese sandwich, AMAZING, cauliflower and onion Bhaji pasty, PHENOMENAL, salted caramel swirled croissant (which is viral online right now) 10/10 and sausage roll, all amazing cannot recommend enough. We ate in our apartment so cannot comment on eating in but please try!

We had tea and scones. All the tables were dirty, most of them with used cups and plates. The cutlery provided was dirty as well. The room is dark and unpleasant.

I always used to love this shop... Not only has the quality declined as the price has risen but now have some of the rudest staff members. Truly a shocking experience.

Weak tea. Dry pain au raisin. Dry Scone. Had to clear lots of crumbs off our table. Floor needed a good sweep. Won't be visiting a Cornish Bakery again.

Theres a few of these dotted around the locality now . Ive got to be honest and say its probably more appealing to visitors and holiday makers than to locals. Better food is available elsewhere in town and at a better price !

Came in on a sunny weekend. Was very busy but staff were still extremely friendly and helpful. Coffee was delicious also.

Went in for a coffee, was served by a lovely young lady, the guy who made my coffee was amazing, catered to all my dietary needs (not being able to drink cows milk) would 100% return

The managers and staff are always extra friendly , the service is always slick and efficient and the batista's are actual batista's that know everything about coffee and how to provide you with the best cup of coffee. It is a very welcoming atmosphere. I cant fault them for anything :)

Me and the family went out for late breakfast. I have a fussy daughter but luckily there's was a lot of options to choose from and all looked delicious. Fast service and friendly staff as well.

I always come here when down in Lyme Regis and they never disappoint. The pasties are the best around and always met by nice staff. Definitely worth a visit!

We have eaten here three days running into our holiday. The Cornish pasties and the pastries are freshly made and delicious. I would totally recommend this bakers.

We visited this bakery on 25th April 2021. Delicious pasties and really lovely, friendly staff. My partner had an incident with a seagull just outside and the staff very kindly replaced his pasty!

Plenty of choice of pasty shops in Lyme Regis, but this is our favourite every time. Good choice of fillings, all delicious, (my cheese, leek, and bacon pasty today couldn't have been filled any fuller). Plus a cherry and almond croissant, still warm from the oven; both eaten on the beach, (well covered from gulls) - absolutely perfect. And the staff are lovely too!

Super lovely friendly gents in the shop, they even did a bird shape on my latte. I would highly recommend going there for a pasty and a coffee x

We called-in for take away coffees a couple of times this week. On both occasions we received prompt, efficient and very friendly service. The coffee was hot and delicious - and very reasonably priced. Overall, highly recommended.

As a local all my life it’s great to have businesses in the town that brighten your day and this is very much one of them. The guy serving was very friendly and polite and offered a great service all round and the coffee was amazing! Would highly recommend!

Popped in for a coffee and a pastry. The cherry and almond pasty was delicious and my husband had carrot cake. All very fresh with a decent cup of coffee. The staff were very pleasant. All spaced out safely with good hygiene measures. Pasties looked good. We had a taster of the Cornish pudding cake which was delicious. Will definitely try that next time.

We hadn't been in since the Covid started, but we dropped by for a brew on today's cold and wet afternoon. We were met by the usual friendly welcome, in a new layout that still allowed seating in pairs and small groups, with screens and plenty of space. Everything was very obviously freshly cleaned, including the loo (at our age we always check!) which was impeccable.Very highly recommended.

In the era of lockdown, it was a welcome diversion to visit Lyme Regis and see lots of takeaways open and thriving (all with good social distancing measures in place) Nowadays a takeaway coffee is a real treat (the new normal!) and the coffee at The Cornish Bakery is as good as any London coffee house. I asked for a dry oat milk cappuccino. Dry, is a concept many out of town baristas do not get, but not here. Hot and full of flavour. It made the stroll along a glorious sea front all the more uplifting.

I’m not keen on pastry so whilst my husband enjoyed his pasty my frittata was just sad, thin and dry.

Lovely, light croissant, delicious coffee, friendly staff - even when I split my coffee! they cheerfully made me a new one.

Been to the Cornish Bakery every day since being in Lyme Regis- we initially came back because the staff were so friendly, that alone makes you want to come back. My girlfriend is vegan and its nice to feel there are multiple options for the both of us!

Not often you find a decent pasty outside of Cornwall but these are really very good with properly chipped veg (not a catering mush as so often is the case) and good seasoning. Well worth a stop.

Stopped off for a quick coffee while walking around Lyme Regis. Good selection of food to choose from. Took a fruit scone to go with coffee. Good service from the staff. Civic measures in place and working well.

Small bakery with a few tables . We had avocado with poached eggs on sourdough. Very tasty and cheap. Lots of choice and all sounded very good

Visited for a snack and a coffee yesterday and had a wonderful chocolate pastry, so good we bought extra to take away for breakfast today. Yum yum.

Popped into The Cornish Bakery in Lyme Regis on a visit to the area. We had sausage rolls and traditional circus pasties which were both delicious. Crumbly pastry on the sausage rolls and good pasties. We also had pastel de nata, brownie and carrot cake all of which were AMAZING! The shop was set up well with a one way system to keep customers safe.The staff were efficient and friendly. Just wish I lived nearer!

Fantastic bakery. The best for miles. By far the tastiest Cornish pastries to be found anywhere. Brilliant value for money, scones larger then life! Makes for a very yummy cream tea. The staff are so polite, friendly and helpful, also lots of patience while you make your mind up of what to chose. Thank you and will most certainly be back next year.

THE BEST traditional pasty I have ever eaten in my life. Perfectly moist meet and plenty of it along with a good amount of seasoning and pastry to die for. I strongly recommend you visit this bakery if in Lyme Regis or anywhere near by on your hols!!

The staff were helpful and let us eat inside. The food was good quality for fast food , the tables were clean and the coffees were lovely.

What a fantastic team at Lyme Regis, very welcoming, even when random people just walk straight up with a sweatshirt round their mouth pushing in the team kept their cool...Social distancing was observed apart from that random women !Cheeky monkey she was oblivious to everyone else as long as she got her pasties!!!! Anyway the team are lovely and we enjoyed a delicious lunch and our dogs could relax.The coffee was excellent too .How refreshing to have a team of staff who work really well together and the fantastic guy who was baking some seriously delicious looking scones..he was great.Businesses are made by the people who work and care and the lady with the short curly hair was excellent too. They could not do enough for you. We all work hard for our holiday money and you want to spend it with people who care.We always visit your store in Southwold when we go and are delighted that you are in Lyme Regis.The company and the town are SUPER Lucky to have you . Keep up the Fantastic Work !!!!!

Felt totally safe, staff with PPE, food was amazing, lots of filling in the pasty’s and was very clean ! Staff friendly ! Would recommend ! We will be back when we visit again !

Been searching for a proper cream tea for the past 24hrs - found the Cornish Bakery and my search was over. This is the best cream tea for miles. The scones were home baked, the cream was clotted and the jam tasted home made. All of this was served in disposable containers and we took advantage of the 50% off and got some chocolate brownies as well. Highly recommend the Cornish Bakery in Lyme.

Hi, we called in for a snack and although the current restrictions meant no room for our family of five to sit in, we each took away a tasty snack away to enjoy. The staff were really lovely and our pasties were fab.

My son and I popped in here for a drink and a treat and we were greeted by super smiley faces and fab options. My son had a chocolate torsade and a juice and has never looked happier and I had an amazing Vegan spiced cauliflower and onion Bhaji pasty. I also had a yummy oat latte and they had all the alternative milk options. Lovely pics on the wall, fab seating options and just a really good experience. Definitely recommend it!

Our favourite takeaway place in Lyme Regis at the moment. Pasties are wonderful - particularly when fresh out of the oven. The Portuguese custard tarts are to die for. And the fresh coffee is terrific!

We looked around the town to find a cream tea and came a cross this amazing bakery. Scones were delicious. Absolutely 100% scrumptious. We also bought sausage rolls and pastries. Reasonable prices with efficient&friendly service. I would definitely visit again.

Called in this morning to pick up a cornish pasty for my husband, just setting out the fresh baked, lovely gentleman packaged up a freshly baked one straight from the oven. Very secure in respect of covid protection, one way around the strategically placed chairs, full counter screen and staff head guards, hand sanitizer and payment by card only. Very friendly and helpful. Most importantly though a very happy husband with a tummy full of tasty pasty.

Bought 4 original pasties to take back home to Sussex for tea, popped them in the oven...all turned out to be chicken and pepper . Sooooo disappointed. Lovely guy served us so that’s the only consolation.

4 quid for a steak-less pasty, avoid this choice. I actually thought it was a cheese and onion. Poor value.

We had a lovely conversation with the manager at the bakery whilst buying some realy lovely fruit scones and I would highly recommend a visit for all their other treats.

I popped in today to get a few late breakfast things and was very impressed with the service and friendliness of the server. The screens up to shield both the servers and customers were clean and unobtrusive and the card readers to pay were easily accessible. My first visit to a 'takeaway' since lockdown and i was very impressed.

After losing my pasty to an evil seagul, I went back to the shop intending to buy another one. The lovely lady on the counter wouldn’t let me pay and gave me a complimentary pasty free of charge! Excellent service, she made my day that bit better!

Me and my boyfriend came here on Saturday for a spot of lunch that we could eat on the beach. Customer service was delightful, good choice of pasties, that we’re yummy and good social distancing things in place, and what’s more they had 50% off for emergency services! As a paramedic, I love my job but these small tokens of appreciation are lovely.

It was the Portuguese Natas that drew us in. Enticing us with their flaky pastry cases and egg yellow centres.They didn't disappoint and neither did the service nor the decaff coffee or latte.A very pleasant half hour was spent enjoying our treats. The interior was clean and fresh and very calming. Staff were very friendly and I would most definitly return when we are next down on our hols.

We had a 2 sausage rolls and 2 scones, could not fault them, definitely my go to restraunt for when I'm in Lyme Regis.

We are locals and have always enjoyed getting pasties from this place for our family as a special treat, however the last few visits have been really tainted by the unfriendliness of the staff, in particular the older lady who was extremely rude to our 10 year old daughter who popped in on her own as an act of independence as we waited outside in the car - she actually returned in tears! Not what you expect from a friendly town and you have definitely lost our custom.

We called in a whilst we only bought one cheese and onion pasty to share the staff were great fun and extremely friendly. Carol in particular stood out as having a great sense of humour!! Great value and boy was the pasty tasty!!!!

We stopped for coffee and cake but sadly they had virtually none of the latter so we had to settle for just the coffee. More stock needed although to be fair it was after 3 on a Sunday afternoon.

But I'm glad, because I'd never have come in otherwise! I usually prefer to visit and support independents, but they were all empty of food and seating on such a busy day in between Christmas and New Year so eight of us descended on The Cornish Bakery at about 2pm. The staff were completely frazzled, but still smiling and making jokes and made us feel welcome and not at all as though they'd been working flat out. THIS is what made me give a 'very good' rating. Thank you for understanding what makes customers happy.The pasty I had was ok, and everyone else said what they had was good. My decaf coffee was outstanding - good and strong just the way I like it. I will be back, not for the food but for the service.

Lovely warm welcome, light and airy, clean and super friendly and accommodating. Scrumptious food eat in or take away and always make my drinks on asking, especially to my personal taste.

I love The Cornish Bakery anyway but I recently had their welsh Rarebit and it was so tasty and declicious. I've been back already and had another one. The staff are really friendly as well.

Just been robbed at this place, went and brought two of the smallest pasties for a colossal £7.20, hardley any filling inside and dry.

This bakery was welcoming and friendly, it is clean and warm on a rainy day and we stopped for a cup of tea and we both had a lovely fresh muffin as well, reasonably priced and a nice place to stop whilst shopping in the town area.

The Cornish Bakery is truly the best for a proper Cornish Pasty. The cafe is well decorated and very clean. We enjoyed are brief snack and would return.

Visited Dorset from the US and this quickly became our favorite coffee and pastry stop! The pasties are so flavorful and food presentation is . I appreciated the tasty gluten-free brownies and sour cherry pistachio cakes. And the coffee . So bright and fresh! We met Jenni and Carol the day we stopped in and they are the best!

Disgusting staff attitude, rude, abrupt and not deserving of your money. A little walk will get you better service elsewhere. Don't waste your time and money here.

We stopped here on our day trip to Lyme, and very much enjoyed our time. The pastries were delicious. I would highly recommend the hot chocolate. It may be the best I’ve ever had! Oh, and the service by Jenni & Carol was lovely. Would definitely stop again.
