We enjoyed a lovely meal together and were impressed with the staff. We walked in and given a table. After ordering the waitress asked if we would like to move to a better table which had become available. We enjoyed a fantastic meal, plenty of vegan options, which was reasonably priced. Throughout the meal the staff were attentive and lovely - one of the best teams so have seen in a while.

Hi and thanks for having us at paste we were very happy with the service and taken to our seats straight away as we didn’t book before so it was a walk in . No problems at all served fast and the food was great , the Thai green curry was plentiful and quite spicy too which I really liked , it was served hot and came out pretty quick we really enjoyed our food . I would definitely return and try out other foods . We did have a starter come out with the mains and they were the spring rolls with sweet chilli dip they were really nice too

As you will see from my photo, this is not Pad krapow moo sap kai dow. I've been married to a Thai for the last 14 years. I've visited Thailand many times and never in my experience have I ever been served a meal like this. Pad krapow does not have big chunks of onion, courgette and green/red bell peppers in it. This was served in a bowl full of gravy with what looked more like chicken, not pork and also looked under cooked. I asked for extra spicy and also some prik nam pla. Basmati rice, not Thai Hom Mali (Jasmine). There was no spiciness to it, it was bland. I also ordered this in Thai so that they knew I liked extra spicy. The starter of Tod mun pla was soggy and greasy. Shame on you trying to serve me food like this when I am well aware what true authentic Thai food is. I found this experience an insult. I said nothing to the staff as I am aware of the losing face situation and respected that. I will never return to this establishment and I will spread the word around those that I know. Both Thai & Farang.

We have being going to Paste for years and always enjoyed the food.HOWEVER, when going to order from Deliveroo today we discovered that the majority of meals in the 'vegetarian' section contain crustaceons, making them not vegetarian. We are absolutely mortified that for years we have been served food made with animals when ordering from the vegetarian section of the menu. When ordering through their website it doesn't tell you this, and it doesn't state it in the ingredients on their menu either.Paste either need to update thier menu to take these meals out of the veggie section or stop using animals to make these meals .Food should not be advertised as vegetarian when made with animals.

Ordered a takeaway of mixed starter for two (£18), crispy aubergines with rice and 'authentic' Thai noodle dish with king prawns in a yellow bean sauce. Total cost £42.Mixed starter - 14 small pieces in total including prawn toast, spring roll, meat skewers and a couple of different bite sized rolls. For almost the price of two main course dishes, this is completely overpriced.Crispy aubergine - rice was bland and dry. Aubergines were battered, had no flavour or seasoning and just oozed grease into my mouth when eating them. Unpalatable.Thai noodle dish - noodles were awful - greasy, overcooked and stuck together in one big clump (see picture). Yellow bean sauce element was basically a runny gravy consistency that honestly tasted like roast beef monster munch. Vegetables had no flavour other than the water they must have been boiled in.Utterly overpriced food. It is touted as authentic Thai food but it is far from it. Save some money and order from your local takeaway, your life will be richer for it.

My son and his partner took me here and the menu was so extensive, we opted for the mixed plattter as a starter and the set meal. We couldn't have done any better. That platter was spectacular - hopefully a photo attached. The set meal was also excellent and heaps of food - and enough left over to feed two of us two night's later and we both eat very well. The only downside was that they didn't serve cider - which is most unusual for any British eatery. When back in Nottingham, that will be a must visit.

My partner and I came this evening for the first time and generally couldn't find a bad word to say if we tried! The customer service was fantastic; all staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and really seemed to care that we enjoyed our visit which was lovely. As for the food... just wow! We have both visited Thailand, and as our favourite cuisine, have been to numerous Thai restaurants in the UK but this one beats them all. My partner had his favourite, panang curry, and I had the Thai pork with chilli and basil and both were incredible! We also had the mixed starters to start which were really tasty, especially the pork skewers. To top it off, we also had a cocktail each which are so reasonably priced at just £6.50 each, and they were better than any we have had anywhere for a long time, which we definitely weren't expecting from a Thai restaurant! To summarise, if you are thinking of going here, stop thinking and start booking as you won't regret it! We will definitely be booking again soon!

Way more than we could comfortably eat. The staff boxed up what we didnt eat. Only order the set menu if you are very hungry!Service was faultless and very friendly. I had the prawn makham dish chef special. I love tempura prawns and when they arrived I bit a large piece of the crispy batter. I was rather repulsed to receive a mouthful of sharp tail. I removed it from my mouth and carefully went in for a bite of the fatter part of the tail. More hard shell! I prised the batter back to find the prawn inside and was horrified to find an entire prawn with shell intact under the batter!I inspected the other 5 prawns on my plate to find they had all been battered in their shells!!! I called the waitress who assured me yes we cook them in shell it looks better. I said yes maybe in a nice garlic sauce but not in batter! She said well that's how we do them so would you like a finger bowl..I managed to salvage some prawns and left the batter on the plate firmly attached to their exoskeletons. It looked like desperate prawns had shed their own shells. Dreadful

A choice of starters although limited were good followed by a good choice of mains and an ice cream. Portion sizes excellent.A couple of us ate from the main menu which is very good. Again the portion sizes were good. The food is delicious. We had a bottle of Thai red wine. It was a Shiraz and was lovely. It’s well worth trying to save room for a desert especially if it is the coconut I’ve cream with Thai condiments. The condiments are unusual but tasty, lychees, pineapple, water chestnut pieces in syrup and red beans. The food is reasonably priced and certainly value for money.Service excellent We will definitely be back

The outside looks a little like a cafe rather than a restaurant, we were welcomed by a very pleasant waitress and shown to our table. We had a great experience at Paste. The service was fast and efficient (It was a Saturday night too!) and the food was very good. The only reason why I am giving this 4 bubbles instead of 5 is that, in my opinion, there are better noodle dishes served up at other Thai restaurants in Notts city centre for the same price (i.e. more varied vegetables in the noodles, more spice etc). But I have had so much Thai food in my time that I am quite fussy! The phad mee noodles I had here were still very good and the spring rolls were fantastic (crispy and not greasy). My husband loved his thai red veg curry too. We will definitely return.

I'm really dissapointed by our meal last night at Paste. The starter soup was very small. The waiter tipped the wine into my friends water glass, mixing it with water then didn't give her a replacement drink. I ordered duck green curry, the duck was fatty and mostly inedible but worst of all the duck curry was served with a side of pork, when I asked the waiter he assured me this was duck, I asked twice more as I thought it looked odd and he was adamant it was duck, so I ate a bite. It was definitely pork, I don't and never have eaten pork for religious reasons. I'm sickened. I felt the staff didn't take this very seriously.

I went to Paste for a family meal. One of us is gluten-free, so we chose Paste because of the clear menu options. The menu is totally incorrect. Three dishes were chosen from the gluten-free menu options and they were removed after serving when we asked if they were free of gluten. We were even served bread and oven chips from the 'gluten free' options! It turned out only 3 dishes on the whole menu were gluten free! So, the waitress offered to make a rice noodle dish fresh for my husband. She then served noodles, not rice noodles! By then we had all finished our meal. It was supposed to be a family celebration with our son and his girlfriend. So the noodles were removed (third dish removed). I went to the desk and complained about the menu. if the Environmental Health were aware of the inaccuracies on this menu they would close it down. Who knows if the nut allergy information is correct, or the vegan options???? I paid for the drinks, which I regret now and we left. My husband has been ill since Friday night because of this. i am still considering whether to report this place.

Tried this restaurant on the spur of the moment and I was really impressed with the food. Started off with Tom Ka Soup a delicious spicy coconut soup. Next was Pad Thai, a recipe from the chefs Granny apparently and served with giant fresh water prawns. Mr Courage had the Panang curry which was excellent. The food was really reasonably priced and the menu so tempting we have been back again and surely will do again to sample some of the other mouth watering dishes. Service was very good and the staff were lovely. Some of the beers seemed over priced, that was the only downside as the drinks can bump up your bill. Visited here for 1st time after having eaten at nearby Zaap which draws in a crowd partly due to its funky decor but also does serve gud food. Paste is much simply in decor, no gimmicks just pure quality Thai cooking. I opted for what I thought might be an adventurous Thai fish starter which turned out to be Thai fish cakes. However, once biting into them I was not disappointed & the chilli dip was sensational. Main course was new to me, no24 on menu, marinated pork collar with vermicelli noodles & chilli dressing. It really was one of the best Thai dishes I have experienced. The pork was succulent with some crispy bits & lots of flavour of spices but not overpowering & the chilli sauce was the best I have tasted. The vermicelli noodles were the perfect accompaniment where I would normally expect it to be a rice side dish. As it was busy at the front of the restaurant I was sat further to the back around the corner but throughout my meal the Thai staff never once forgot me & constantly checked that I was ok & enjoying my meal, very attentive & friendly service indeed. Can't wait to come back & share the experience with friends

Paste is a modern Thai restaurant situated in the heart of the Lace Market district area of Nottingham serving contemporary cuisine. Funnily enough I had a main meal that was exactly that shown in the main picture, which was Kow Ped Yarng (duck with rice). Very good, with service to match in very pleasant and relaxed surroundings.

We went here on a Saturday evening and it was a surprisingly quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and were happy to give advice and even tailored my meal to me (the waiter let me know that it was normally very spicy and asked if I would prefer it milder). The food came out very quickly and everyone was very impressed, even though we were catering to a range of dietary needs (including vegan). We were also pleasantly surprised by the prices: a main meal, a soft drink and a pudding cost us about £15 each, which is pretty spectacular considering how nice the food was! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, we’ll definitely be coming back! :)

Would highly recommend! Food was delicious and arrived very quickly, staff were also very tentative and helpful. Would love to go again soon. My only thoughts for improvement would maybe be some light background music skrr skrr

Popped in late on a Sunday, service was good, food was ok, maybe it was our choices that made it a little mediocre. However I would it give it another go. Worth trying.

Called here early evening whilst on a shopping trip to Nottingham. Food was spot on, service was faultless. They couldn’t do enough to cater for my partner who is Coeliac and can’t eat gluten. Would highly recommend.

The waiters were nice and helpful. There were no long waits between courses. The food was very tasty and well presented. The drinks "thai beverages" were equally impressive in taste and presentation. 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert £40 1x Student discount: 10% -> £36

A friend and I visited on a Tuesday eve and thought both our dishes were delicious (prawn pad Thai and vegetarian stir fry). The service was very attentive and would definitely recommend.

Since being in Nottingham 12 months ago we were sorry to see our favourite Thai restaurant had been taken over by ‘Paste’, but we decided to try it out. The first notable thing was the lovely decor had changed and it lacks character. The banquet was plentiful, although the Tom Thumb soup made us all cough it had so much chilli oil! All of the dishes seemed to have lots of peppers and onions in them and whilst it was nice it was not delicious and we left a lot of food - slightly disappointing.

I went there last Saturday with my wife. It's our first time and the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good and the price is reasonable too.

I have coeliac disease (otherwise known as gluten intolerance), when we looked at the menu, we were impressed by the attention to details on all sorts of food allergies and intolerance which specified all the possible at risk ingredients in each dish with appropriate symbols at the bottom of the menu which allowed you to make a proper and informed choice.

Busy day of prepping for the week and shopping lead me to consider a takeaway for dinner. It was 5pm and I have just randomly came across this restaurant/takeaway from one of my friend's page who posted a dinner take away the evening prior.

I have visited the restaurant with my husband on my birthday, food is very authentic like what you have in Thailand. My favorite is Noodle soup with pork and fish ball , and my husband had number 777 Weeping Tiger.

We visited on a Friday evening, it was busy and the staff looked lost. Our drink took ages to arrive, we assumed they forgot, but they eventually arrived. We waited quite long for food. When one main arrived I reminded them that we hadn't had our starter yet. They left the one main and also brought the second one, which was wrong, so they took that back. We eventually got our starter and I got the right main. The food was tasty but wouldn't go back.

Tasty food and a good price, but the atmosphere is a bit clinical, lights are too bright and the tables are packed in.

Worst Thai ever - hardly any meat. Curry’s didn’t turn up with any rice and when I phoned up, the lad on the phone said there was nothing he could do about it!!! Awful!

I went to Royal Thai with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner and what a treat it was! The new owner is lovely and clearly a very skilled chef! All the staff were personable and super attentive and there was a really cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. This was definitely the best thai meal I have ever had. We had the prawn spring rolls and the ribs in red wine sauce to start, which were both yummy. For our main, we both had the red thai curry. My boyfriend had his with chicken, which he says was delicious. I had mine with prawns - now these are big prawns, which made me very happy. There was depth to the flavour and a good level of spice (warming) in the curry. The portion size was perfect too. I will 100% be back for more.
