Pool table...decent table but could do with updating the cues...half price wings on a Wednesday. 👍

We went specifically as we thought there was a brewery on site (shipstone) wasn't clear if there was but we enjoyed a lovely pint and some delicious snacks. Only criticism would be that food is served in take away containers so not great for the environment....

Burgers were cold and all over the place. Hardly worth £9 Also loaded frys wernt the best. Feel kind of ripped off paying £30 for that

A lovely old style pub with a nice choice of beers and amazing food,lovely chatty landlord and some nice chatty characters in the pub,enjoyed it that much I’ve been back a few times and the regulars remember me,definitely worth a visit 10/10

Burger was nice But loaded frys had sliced meat in them? Not to sure what meat it was

From when I heard that knock on my door it was like santa came early. I don't know what the chef does to those meaty loaded fries but we sure do keep coming back for more. One word. Magical.

Was passing though and stopped here to eat. It's in a relatively rough looking area but don't let that turn you away. The staff is friendly and this little cozy pub is one of the few places that serve a mix of exotic burgers either as a takeaway or to eat in. I'm not a fan of wooden cutlery but I understand the desire for easy cleaning and eco friendly impact. I was in just before the kitchen closed and they still served us so it's nice to see they care that we eat. Bar has a good mix of drinks on tap and I would recommend trying some. Only downside is that it's slightly expensive but that unfortunately is quite typical of pubs these days. If you're after trying a kangaroo burger or a wild boar burger then this is a good place to go for a quick meal and a pint or two.

Absolutely unreal. Always piping hot. The loaded meat fries consistently blow my mind, I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Visiting my sister at uni and was recommended this place. Didn’t disappoint. Fantastic food menu, really good huge selection of locally brewed beers, Nene Valley, Black Iris, Salt Brewery etc, vibe was so lovely. Fab place!

We travelled up on the train from Luton for the game last week with plenty of time to spare so asked a few locals for a good burger spot, was pointed in the direction of the fox and crown with rumours of a wagyu burger, which for us folk in humble Luton is unheard of. We hopped on the tram and it did not dissapoint! A short walk from the tram stop to divulge in a burger juicier than Adebayos 92nd minute equaliser. Really wish we had quality like this local to us down south! The chef at the fox and crown is my second favourite person in Nottingham behind joe worrall for gifting us a point! Keep up the great work and if we’re back in the premier league next season you will see us again! As an added bonus they had Blue Moon which is my favourite drop! Perfect start to a great day in Nottingham!

Stayed in the area overnight to watch the mighty hatters the following day at the city ground, shame we couldn't take the 3 points but this place made the whole journey even better. Literally 4 mins to the tram stop into the city. Excellent selection of food, The game burgers are excellent, real surprising selection!! I went for the buffalo, but theres wagyu, kangaroo, wild boar and more to choose from. Really impressive menu. The pub itself is really chilled, made to feel welcome straight away (didnt wear my Luton Shirt just in case!!) Great selection of beers and really nice atmosphere. Fingers crossed we stay up this season so i can come back next year! If you're local, you've got a real gem on your hands!!

Amazing food. Just as hot and tasty as eating in the pub. Highly recommend the meaty loaded fries! Arrived with cutlery, napkins and wipes which was a nice touch. Safe to say we will definitely order again

The burgers are to die for if you haven't eaten yet from the Fox and Crown then I suggest that you wait no longer Adam has done wonders and continues to go from strength to strength.

Absolutely love this pub. The staff are lovely and friendly. Their service is second to none. The regulars are warm and welcoming. I've made a few great pals. Having recently opened up their kitchen, I've sampled the breaded Brie wedges, delicious 😋. I'm not particularly a burger fan, however yesterday the special was lamb burger, brioche bun, homemade coleslaw, mint yoghurt and fries. I love the quirkiness of the cardboard container it's all presented in. The lamb burger was thick and juicy. Cooked to perfection, stunningly mouth watering. Very tasty. Absolutely loved the homemade coleslaw and I had the pleasure of sharing tips with the chef. Overall an amazing Saturday afternoon and evening. I'll definitely be working my way through their menu.

I was in town on a training course and fancied a pint. Ended up in same place every day after training. Crisp, cold pale ale and very friendly staff and locals. We'll worth a visit.

Shame they no longer do food though.

Not many pubs left open in Basford but this important long standing boozer maintains high standards. Good ales, well run and welcoming. Quality.

Hi Richard I called in on Saturday. I just had a diet coke but as you know I know a good pint and saw many around me. The beer sticking to the glass as it was being drunk. Also the beer started off with a lovely Creamy head. Another sign of a great pint. A lovely tidy clean pub and a great brewery at the back. The service was good.I will be back.

If you like Shipstones this is the place for you, however, I'm not a fan so was disappointed with the lack of ither options. The only other realistic option was Guinness which was a decent pint.

I was around old basford taking photos and i came across this wonderful public house the fox and crown i was so hungry I Pop in lovely atmosphere warm friendly staff welcoming nice food nicely decorated clean and tidy toilets serves real ale shiptons 🍺 a beautiful place too kick back enjoy a meal and a good drink.

Fantastic host great beer, and shorts, always happy to serve and have a chat. Nice and clean too. Great pub to visit

Better than I expected. It was possible to have a decent conversation in there without having what you said drowned out by excessively loud entertainment systems. The atmosphere was good, the staff and customers seemed friendly and there was a good mixture of youngers and elders. When I visited it wasn't selling food, tea or coffee, which was perhaps the only let down I noticed.

This is an excellent pub, just like they used to be, with no frills. Beer was superb, staff friendly too. A short walk from Basford Tram Stop. Sells the Shipstones Beer Range at very reasonable prices.

The Fox & Crown is a great place to visit. They Have a great selection of local beer. And have fantastic Thai restaurant to boot. Out back they have Shipstons Brewery out back.. With warm and friendly service from a dedicated staff, which is best by none.

Went here during the pandemic, so no food ordered. But a very amenable staff and good crowd , well looked after, clean and hygienic. Good selection of beer, not too many but enough to keep you happy in the given conditions.

Popped in as our usual haunt was closed. Landlord is a lovely fella, as we're all staff.

Popped in as we were in the area for a gig. Large menu plenty of choice all the standard Thai dishes at a reasonable price but after all its a pub not a restaurant. Would go again if we were around. Thanks

Nice outdoor space. Even though it is often busy on a Saturday evening, waits at the bar are never long. Pool table, Sky Sports and cricket supporters. Separate Thai food area (2nd till) that does nice food.
