I had seen numerous ads for this dog-friendly café, so I decided to visit for the first time right after it opened at 7:30 AM during my morning dog walk. While the site claims to be dog-friendly, there were signs indicating that dogs weren’t allowed in certain areas, and there was no one outside to clarify which areas those were. I also attempted to enter the café at 7:40 AM, but the doors were locked, and although staff inside saw us, they ignored us. I went to the kiosk to inquire about opening times and dog-friendly areas, but no one was available to help. After wandering around aimlessly for a bit, I left, feeling that the environment wasn’t very friendly or welcoming.

Visit here when walking the dog. It’s a very busy place so recommend visiting a little earlier than normal. Food is not expensive and portions are good, well made and hot. The location is great, quiet and away from the roads so peaceful. Recommended.

We thought you could walk around the lakes, but it’s more for fisherman etc and you can’t go round the lakes. Walked through the cafe area plenty of seating outside and people eating lovely food. . Took few photos of ducks and came home … wasn’t totally what we were expecting … which was a large lake and woodland with a cafe at the end that we could actually walk around .

Had full English breakfast. Food very good, cafe room clean and warm. This cafe is geared for takeaways by fishermen using the lake facility. Had not realised this so surprised when meal arrived in poly tray and cutlery was wooden knife and plastic fork. Ok yes but I like my food on a plate and with proper cuttlery

The third visit now. Ages ago my wife asked if I'd heard of it (which I hadn't) but I came across it almost by accident when passing and called in for a drink. I found the setting really good with the covered area with the little food stalls/huts near the water to be really unique (but in a good way). On a separate occasion we made a point of going there by pedal bike and a helpful chap directed us to where all the others on the bikes were. We were a bit confused but up we went only to find a cycle club using it as a destination (for good reason) and as a result we ended up joining the Club! We each had a rather splendid breakfast barm and a cuppa. And most recently on a cold day we popped in for a couple of lovely cappuccinos from the serving hatch and sat in the adjoining room which was lovely and warm due to (I think) a combination of heating and the sunlight - and looking over the water. Recommended.

Visited Friday morning, ordered 2 full English breakfasts as recommended, actually very nice, this isn’t a restaurant, it’s a nice outdoor or indoor cafe next to the fishing lakes, was speaking to JB behind the counter who was extremely nice and friendly, the food was great, everything you would expect and for £8.50 quite a lot of breakfast, food arrived in a takeaway container, so no plates or cutlery. Highly recommended

Lovely toasties and nice brews too. Nice country feel by the lake, children love it so it's a nice walk. Staff are friendly and efficient, very popular so be patient if there's a queue.

Partridge Lakes was recommended to us, so we visited on 28th Sept., for lunch on our adult daughters birthday. A lovely location, with a huge free car park. There are ducks wandering around and a parrot in a cage, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The cafe is more of a food & drink kiosk, with a small but good menu of snack type food, which is fine, as long as you know what to expect. The staff were pleasant enough, without being chatty or overtly friendly. When you've ordered your food, you're allocated a fob, which buzzes when your food is ready for collection. Simple, but ingenious! The food is served in disposable paper containers & the drinks in paper cups (with plastic cutlery). This is great for the fishermen, and convenient for the staff, but we much prefer our drinks (at least) to be served in ceramic cups. The burger and chips were very nice, as was the large hotdog. Our tea & coffee's were only luke warm & they didn't stay that way for long, due to the paper cups. All in all a pleasant visit at a fair and affordable price.

My cousin suggested going to Partridge Lakes cafe. I'm honest with all my reviews and I wouldn't call it a 'cafe' in the context of what a cafe actually is. My cousin struggled with the steep incline to the cafe from the car park with her rollator. I asked the lady in the kiosk did they do skinny lattes and was told no, her body language suggested my request was odd, I asked could she water it down, she explained it was from a machine and more or less non-verbally suggesting like it or lump it. She could have added a small amount of water from the tap to it. Wasn't exactly friendly either. Its nothing special and far nicer places to visit.

Visited on a Saturday and took the dog for an early morning walk around the field before it got too hot, then into the cafe area for a coffee. Chose a table where I could sit in the sun whilst my black lab stayed in the shade out of the heat. It was already getting pretty busy. Good selection of food and drink on offer (for both humans and canines!) with friendly staff. Fast becoming regular customers!

Looks beautiful on line but when you visit there is no where for the dog appart for a tiny part. Why have a dog cafe with no where to take the dog. Its just a fishing place. Cold expensive food. It's actually not a cafe but kiosk. Feeding the fish is a nice experiance with a bit of a difference.

Visited today, never been before. Fishing match on, nice surroundings. Quite busy, however, food was spot on. Outside and indoor seating, chose outside seeing as weather was nice and a large tent which kept the sun rays at bay. Wasps were a pain, other than that 👍🏻

Great little place with cheap but delicious food! Fab coffee and friendly staff too! My daughter and I have started popping here for lunch, she absolutely loves Fergie the parrot. I'm not sure Fergie the parrot feels the same but she puts up with my daughter's conversations anyway x

Food excellent especially the breakfasts. Burgers not bad either. Hot chocolate excellent. If you want fresh air there are tables to sit at outside. There is also inside seating. Watching the wild life and ducks is very relaxing. Peace away from the outside world. Very popular with the fishing crowd.

Had seen the café advertised on facebook and whilst out with my niece decided to give it a try.. It was surprisingly very busy for a weekday afternoon, but found a nice seat around the lake and didn't have too long to wait for our lunch. One thing to mention, as it is the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that there is a lovely friendly dog that wanders about which I can only presume is the owners/staff please do regular poo checks as had to do some dodging.. Looking forward to visiting again soon

I visited the cafe on a Sunday afternoon, the food was amazing and very tasty! The cafe was very busy, however the staff were amazing and so polite. It's such a good place for brunch, breakfast, or even just a coffee. The young staff couldn't do enough for us, the girls are a credit to the business!

We had the so called £7 Sunday Lunch. it was told to us that the kitchen was short staffed. So accepted the wait for food but didn't appreciate the cold meals and poorly cooked meat with hard vegetables. Didn't complain at the time as didn't want to spoil the family meal further. Was horrified when the bill arrived and the cost of 'extras' became clear. Cola £6, wine £9.50. what with desserts the meal came to over £140 for 4 of us. OK if you were receiving fine dining but a so called £7 Sunday lunch - just ridiculous. Might have been a bad day but will not be revisiting.

We were a large booking so I emailed Gin Alley to book a table. Danielle got back promptly and was very accommodating. Lovely venue for drinks - beers, Prosecco, cocktails. The place was busy with a good vibe. Bar staff were efficient, professional and friendly.

Very overpriced and under sized portions meant to be a cafe not a restaurant. 2.50 for a can of Fanta is ridiculous, had finished food when they brought missed item , chucked at us, no apology nothing, worst place in miles just about ripping off not providing quality or value
