I recently visited Parsons Collar in Fareham, and it was a great experience overall! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a nice rustic charm. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we felt taken care of throughout our meal. The menu offered a good variety of options, and the food was delicious—well-cooked and flavorful. The only slight downside was that the service was a little slow at times, but nothing that took away from the overall enjoyment. It’s definitely a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, and I’ll happily return again!

Whilst the food is tasty, the size of the meal has gone down when the price hasn't! This was a "large" sharing nachos with spicy chicken costing £20. Previously this used to be a full bowl that was mounted high that would easily feed between four or six people for a light lunch, but unfortunately this fell short of expectation and value for money...

Parking spaces are quite tight, pub seemed alright, near a fancy looking hotel/spa, and close to Whiteley shopping centre. Only had drinks.

My husband and I visited the pub last night. I had fish and chips, which was rather dry and tasteless, and my husband had Hunter’s chicken and was happy with it. Unfortunately he developed a terrible food poisoning that made him really poorly. He has been throwing up for hours (as I’m writing this). I’m not saying it was definitely caused by the pub food, but he hasn’t eaten anything else since and long before, so it’s rather strange. Parsons Collar is our local pub, within a walking distance, with a nice garden, hence why we like to visit it. However the menu is very limited, it’s always cold in there (unless it’s hot outside) and some of the newer staff members don’t seem to be doing a very good job, which is a real shame. I’m now concerned about the hygiene and quality of the food, and I would be hesitant to want to eat here again. I’m very disappointed.

Not overly busy as it wasn't the weekend. The bar staff were pleasant and efficient. Can recommend the cheesy nachos to share - a good amount with the usual sour cream, guacamole, salsa and jalapenos. You can add pulled pork, spicy chicken or beef chilli if you want.

Absolutely amazing find! 2 adults, 2 children and a dog and we all enjoyed everything, the service was outstanding Alex was very attentive and couldn't have asked for better service. Food was fabulous very rare for everything to be spot on! Dog friendly. Will definitely be seeing you all again!

Works lunch, food was pretty good. Had chicken wings for starter (suggestion, separate the wings and legs, will make it easier to eat) burger for main and cheesecake for dessert. Place was clean and tidy, well lit. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, pretty decent.

This is a place I frequent with work colleagues for various celebrations, a casual drink or lunches. For the most part the service is good bar one or two isolated insodences of rudnes but overall still friendly. Food is good and so is the atmosphere.

No stars for food for reasons I will explain. I called in to book a table for this Friday at 8pm. It wasn't busy but took ages before I got served. I asked if I could book a particular table for Friday which he said yes. He then turned on his computer and looked for some blank paper. He then came back to me and said I will do it later and proceed to serve someone else. He never even asked for my name or contact details. I am not expecting the table to be reserved for us on arrival. The service and manner was pretty dismal

Food was nice and staff are very friendly but the pub was quite chilly! Luckily I was able to get the food brought to my room, which was right next door at The Lodge, didn't find out until after that I could have ordered via a QR code but that wasn't a big deal. Had the large nachos with chilli which was £16, including the 10% discount. There were way too many jalapenos but other than that it was tasty.

Generally a nice atmosphere. A little bit pricey but worth it, in my opinion. Clientele are generally very nice. Food is reasonable. Staff are great.

Very disappointed by the food options. I had the steak pie. Very poor imho. Very tough and too chewy for me. Others liked the fish and chips and chicken wings with hot sauce. It was busy but I would choose elsewhere in future.

We had a sharing plate of cheesy nachos with sour cream, salsa and guacamole, it could have served 4! Fish and chips were soooo good, the batter was especially good. Full English breakfast the next day was fab.

Took grandkids for a meal tonight. I couldn’t eat the steak pie as meat was so tough. The mash was cold and lumpy. My grandson’s steak he said was ok but very tough. He ate it as he was hungry. Won’t be eating there again I’m afraid

Had a couple of drinks and a meal in here, nice and friendly staff. I liked that you can order on your phone from your table and they bring it to you. The food was good , we had a couple of burgers which were nice but not sure about the brioche buns, they were weird but overall nice food, had chicken wings which were nice and crispy but moist at the same time. And chocolate brownie and a sticky toffee pudding after which were lovely. We’d definitely eat here again

Rammed on a Friday evening. Fortunately we had reserved a table. An outside table would have been quieter though. Feral kids running around indoors. 30-minute wait for food advised when we ordered at the bar and that was accurate. Food was hot and tasty. A bit disappointed to have the mushy peas (accompanying the haddock) in a polystyrene cup on the plate...

My son in law, baba and 🐶 enjoyed an hour here yesterday sitting under a canopè of beautiful trees in full lead. The garden is comfortably furnished and peaceful. And you can order from the table. Just what we needed. Oh, and the chips were yummy 😋 and my lime and lemonade, cold with just the right amount of lime.

It's a bit grubby and the staff didn't look that excited to be there either.

The service at the Restaurant Parsons Collar was absolutely disgusting. Was told there would be 30 min wait for food. 45 mins later, still no food even though other people had been served. Manager lied and said they said there would be a 45 min wait. Theres no way we would have waited that long if they said that in the first place as we had work to go back to. He refused a refund or to give his name replying “I haven’t got a name” and shrugged his shoulders. I got told there was no one above him I can complain to. Been a member of the adjacent gym Solent Hotel for nearly 2 years and the service from the restaurant was so disappointing.

Visited for a family meal. It was a bit noisy for chatting. Not all items on the menu were available that night. Overall a bit disappointing.

OK for a lunch near the office, received an unwelcoming acknowledgement especially as booked and ordered up front due to party size but otherwise no issues.

I would like to give the Parsons collar a higher star rating. Service good, food good...The problem.....Hubby is diabetic and does not like cola or pepsi...so no other option for a sugar free non alcoholic drink being available makes the star rating fall. In this day and age of being aware of sugar content, when calories per meal are advertised on the menu, why wouldn't you have a diet lemonade available!

Very clean and spacious environment and obviously popular, food is served and looked good but we were only here for a few drinks before moving on. They had a good selection of beers and those we tried we're all very good would happily come back again.

We ate here on a Thursday afternoon. It was not busy, no one come and asked if our food was OK. No one come and cleared our plates when we had finished eating. Even though the pub was empty and 4 staff behind the bar chatting and on their phones. Will not return or recommend.

There's nothing like a pint after football. Vibes were good and there is a great outdoor area, a few tables have small TV's for that personal viewing and there is also a big screen. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure on the food though or pricing, only stopped for a quick Pint.

Best pizza and burgers in the area, by far! Helpful staff and good prices. Good outside area with heaters for when colder. Great location for a drink and a meal any time of the week! Also I love the fact that they are dog friendly 🐕 🐩 🐶 will totally recommend

Came here for a friend's wedding, its beautiful. We stayed at the lodge, the wedding ran really well and the bride and groom were very well looked after. I was a bit disappointed with the main toilet and the light in our room. The toilet handle was broken in the main toilets. In our room I found it odd that the lamp light that was there by the mirror on the desk was yellow, it should be a white light not a yellow one, if it's there for the purpose of makeup, but it was also broken, under the bed were weird trolly things those too were broken. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent customer service and the food is very good quality.

Service was quick and efficient. The bar was clean and well spaced. The drinks were fairly priced and the food was delicious. I went for prawn salad on the barmaids recommendation and it didn't disspoint. Our whole party of 12 were thoroughly impressed.

I marked this place with two stars based on our last visit. It's quite handy when staying at the Solent Hotel for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Normally "mediocre" kind of food.. but we were really disappointed after our visit there on Tuesday. The burger arrived burned and tasteless with half of a gherkin on the side as garnish. The pizza was almost inedible.. cheese barely melted and pepperoni seemed just thawed!!! My goodness!! Last time we were there.. never again!!

Great portions, good value for money, shame the smokers are allowed to sit right by the open door, so smoke drfts in to the restaurant.

Much improved menu, good place to go for a drink. On one occasion though the meal took half an hour to arrive, this seems a little too long given the place was half empty. If you're in a hurry, I don't recommend ordering food here.

Very hostile barmaid told me to stand away from the bar while I was dri nking .I was not inebriated and there were no customers waiting to be served. I was not made to feel welcome and I feel this employee needs to learn how to deal with the public. She did apologise after I confronted her about her attitude but I won't use this pub again until they train their staff properly

Great meal tonight, bacon and chicken salad, delicious. Half a roast chicken with bbq sauce, delicious. Highly recommend the bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere and food.

Not the best experience. Went in for dinner NYE and received the following: - Very dry lasagne - Burnt pizza (base was like charcoal) - Very dry burger (no seasoning, tasted like raw beef) - Chicken wings (they were alright) The beer wasn't the best but I expect it was near the bottom of the barrel when I ordered. I understand it was NYE but the food was so disappointing, we ended up leaving before the deserts came out. It's important to clarify, we have spoken to people who genuinely had a great meal here before. I just think we were unlucky with the staff that was on that night.

Gastro-pub and a fairly nice one at that. It sits between a to a new retail park and a hotel so there's loads of parking and is pretty easy to get to too. The establishment has changed over the last few years from a large village pub style to a more modern approach with a huge stainless steel bar. I preferred the old wooden one personally, I think it had bags more character, but things change. There's a huuuuge outdoor seating area with lots of tables and chairs so it's great in the summer. On this occasion we (9 of us) sat indoors for a meal. There are a couple of 'areas' in the pub, and we were to the front on a stage-like affair with a nice real fire and a massive TV playing daytime TV. Staff are friendly, courteous and professional. Orders were taken and drinks came by within a few minutes. This time food was pre-ordered so it wasn't long before courses were efficiently being served. The food here is normally quite good. There's a limited menu with a good range of food available from pizza to rib-eye steak to club sandwiches. I've always thought the food here a little pretentious and the prices a little high but that seems to have been getting better the last year. (For instance, I remember once getting served a burger and chips meal served on what appeared to be a lump of drftwood and chasing half my meal off the edges onto the table.). There are lots of drinks to choose from including four or five local ales on draft (although usually a couple are turned around), and a couple more bottled so ask the bartender what they have. Summary: Not bad for a meet up with a couple of friends for a drink and a bite to eat. The food and ale and service are good if ever so slightly overpriced.
