Best Chinese takeaway in the area who go easy on artificial colours and flavour enhancers like MSG as best as we can tell. Been using them since about 1996.

You pay tax ….so they don’t have to. The food is very average but regardless I will not support a company like this. Cash only is only ever corrupt.

We were in the area for a weekend getaway but really fancied Chinese takeaway - and we're very glad we stopped at Hobby Horse! Really friendly gentleman behind the counter and there was no issue whatsoever with adapting a few dishes for us as vegetarians. Flavours were great, sauces the perfect consistency.. thank you again, Hobby Horse!

We are visiting the area and tried a takeaway one evening. It was ready for collection right on time, the food was excellent and plentiful. Worth knowing that they only take cash payment.

Ordered chicken chow mein asked for it to be spicy. It was amazing. So so much better than the chinese in four Mark's. I'm glad the four Mark's one shuts on Tuesdays or I would never have known. Twice as good. I'm sticking with here now

what has happened to Hobby Horse? the chicken is now tasteless process meat all the dishes taste the same bland, even the house special fried rice has gravy in it so disappointed most went in the bin.

The worst Chinese I've ever had, the crispy chilli beef should be call elastic bands in dish water

Not like it used to be?.... Was excellent going back a couple of decades; guessing it's changed hands by now? Food mediocre, just as expensive & be aware it's cash which is odd in this day & age! That said, there's not a mind blowing amount of choice in Alresford. So it fills a hole if you really fancy it.

Always a good meal when we have a take away from here and they've used local people to deliver during hard times. Think of the community, stay together and stay safe 👍👍

Terrible food ! Shredded beef soggy and no flavour,, to be honest the meal tasted like it had been heated up, definitely will not be eating there again

Friendly enough service (although take note they don’t accept card payments) but poor food all round. Crispy beef was incredibly soggy, satay prawns had no flavour and certainly no peanut, beef in black bean also had no flavour and very watery, crispy seaweed tasted awful. Very disappointing spending £40 on a terrible meal.

I am a disabled person there is a step out side the shop I can not get in to it the owner are not prepared to come out of the shop to serve me is this get or not

Good fast reasonable chinese food

I use this take away regularly because the staff are friendly, and the food is excellent. In the 18 months that I have used the Hobby Horse I have not had cause for complaint, thoroughly reccomended.

It's a decent Chinese take away, good quality is reasonable, and service is usually quick.
