My local bakers, so called in to get a pasty and some cakes. Service was appalling. Kept working at the oven and setting out goods without a word of 'sorry to keep you waiting' or. better still, showing a bit of customer service by stopping and serving me. Service when it came was unsmiling, and the pasty was lukewarm at best, though to give it its due, it was tasty (chicken). Most of the stuff it sells is fine - I like their cakes and pastries - it's just the service that lets it down. (This wasn't just this time. Being the local bakers my daughter and I have used it several times in the recent past and the experience has always been the same or similar).

Confused about this place No brown loaves, no cold pasties ie to heat at home Seemed more like a hot take away rather than a bakery.

A short review to say that I popped in here for a quick ‘eat-in-the-car’ snack. There was a good array of rolls and pastries on offer (some, if not all, savoury pastries were hot). I did want something hot and suitable for a light lunch on what was a cold day, and I fancied a pasty. I’m not usually impressed by pasties as the tradition seems to be, too little meat and too much potato, plus a fair amount of pastry. Pasties are usually a carb-fest, and usually stodgy to boot. Well I concur the beef pasty, I enjoyed here, didn’t contain a lot of meat (no surprise there). I can, however, report that it had had little or no potato, it wasn’t stodgy, it tasted of meat, it was moist with a good thick and rich gravy, plus the pastry was flaky and light. The pasty was thoroughly hot and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good value for about £3.20, so thank you for the pasty, and the pleasant and efficient service too.

We arrived in the morning Senior citizen's trip. We were member of conservative club locally. My husband and I went there about early lunch, pressed to request could we enter no problem, we could have signed visitors book. The person there then very polite. Late before going back to our collection point we decided to return. we done this same thing but this time a man answered . Asked we were members explained on a visit and where from and we did not have docs on us but before we could say could we sign as visitors the conversation went not member's cannot be allowed in and put the intercom down. HOW RUDE. Would I return no and would I recommend no not if that person can not use some manners .

I went to this delightful pub/restaurant in Portbury, Bristol, with a friend. Our lunch was delicious, freshly cooked, and very filling. It was quite quiet, we went on a Monday afternoon. The staff, in particular Andrea, were friendly, attentive and helpful. I would happily recommend it for a quiet, weekday lunch.

Nine members of a Walking Group had a lunch at this lovely Pub, a warm welcome directed us to a large table where we relaxed after a walk in this lovely locality. It wasn’t quite warm enough to sit outside in the garden which has a breathtaking view over the Lake and hills. ( A summer visit will be organised.) The food was from a wide ranging menu but I was determined to try the Cow pie. Really tasty and served with lovely Mash and roasted vegetables, excellent meal and excellent value. Several other members had fish pie which I will sample on my next visit. All the Group agreed that the food and Service was exceptional.

Used the function room for my son’s christening and can only say how poor the service/experience was. One person serving behind the bar for both our function guests and people within the pub is not acceptable. For the chef on the carvery section to have to cover the bar and leave the carvery whilst people are waiting to be served is shocking management. We had guests that didn’t even get a drink the whole time they attended the queue was that bad. The facilities in the function room also had hardly any toilet paper both in the men’s and women’s and when we had to try and get the key for the disabled toilets so some people could use the bathroom, it was impossible to get hold of, despite 3 separate people asking. The money that was paid for the food was not reflected. The food came out 2 hours late and as well as there being sandwiches, there was 1 small bowl of chips, 1 small bowl of battered garlic mushrooms, a dinner plate of chicken wings and a small plate of approx. 20 bite size hot dogs, bearing in mind we paid for 45 people! Since being at the function, I have had guests who attended saying nothing but negative comments about their experience at the function, and how it put such a negative on a day that is very important to me and my family. Thank you for making a special day that bit less special.

Booked a table at the little harp clevedon for 5 pm. On arrival the pub and restaurant we're really busy, we were shown to our table and ordered five roast dinners and a fish and chips. Very little veg was served and the meats looked dry and unappetizing. Fish and chips didn't fare any better with dried out peas and very few chips. The only plus side to this visit was our server who was under immense pressure due to lack of staff, very unlikely we shall be returning anytime soon.
