We’ve visited this pub a few times for drinks but this was our first time to eat. Outstanding in every respect. The staff(mostly young) give excellent, friendly efficient service. The food quality was at a high level and good value for money. A truly great dining experience. Our server Hayley deserves a special mention - she did a fine job.

We booked a table for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were having a family New Year break. The Parrot was very welcoming, comfy chairs by the fire. In the restaurant the food was good, the dining area was a little cool although that could just be we had left the warm bar. Great atmosphere, would recommend.

I have allergy to vinegar and alcohol and, despite giving the waitress a list of what I couldn’t eat and being precise about it being an allergy, my burger arrived with vinegar more vinegar and more vinegar in the form of gherkin, Cole slaw, and salad dressing. The food was sent back three times before it looked as if it was right. However, the kitchen staff presumably just took off the gherkins and didn’t replace the meat patty as I have been suffering for 3 days since. I won’t be going back.

Went here for a lunchtime drink and snack with friends. The food was fairly good (Chicken Skewers and cheesy chips) but rather expensive for what it was. However one friend had to wait an age for a sandwich and chips. To the extent that others had finished by the time we questioned. Was told that it was called and were looking for you??? Well it was with the other meals? Then informed "I'll just go and get it" a further 10 minutes?? Just wish people would admit they made a mistake and not lie!

Superb location, quaint, picturesque, rural, lovely lawn areas but ... - Food overpriced, although decent quality (tuna sandwich £7.50?) - 2 bar staff on duty (a very warm & sunny Bank Holiday Monday) distracted and not very efficient - dreadful garden furniture (rotted, broken and far too few outdoor tables) desperately in need of replacement

I had heard a lot about this place and decided to rty it. The place was spotlessly clean and we were served pretty quickly and was very friendly and welcoming. All food is cooked to order. There was no delay in getting the food. I had a mixed grill. But it was more a glorified breakfast. Decent size portion and the food was cooked nicely. But nothing to write home about. This is a place where you are satisfied, but not overly impressed food wise. But the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes up for it. I would certainly have no problem going there again.

I had a really enjoyable experience at the Edmund Tylney. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is a great place to meet up with friends.

After changing many landlords, trying to be a posh restaurant, a pizzeria, a sports bar and just the village pub-which is what this establishment was most successful at (in particular during lockdown it provided a welcome chilling opportunity with its large beer garden and kids area) … this longstanding local pub has closed down. Bookham locals will miss its familiar band nights and outdoor summer time drinking
