Could not fault anything. The whole service, food and atmosphere was brilliant Very quick and pleasant service. Excellent

I wish I could review the food and service, but as dogs are not allowed in the hotel (apart from in the bar on a Saturday night) we were not willing to leave out well behaved dog in the car due to the temperature. Any hotel that doesn’t allow dogs in this day and age are going to loose a lot of money and customers.

Not a good reception on the phone to start, rude condescending and glad we didn't go here for dinner as we found a friendly, pleasant, helpful place to eat instead.

First time going here. They sell pepsi max, this makes me so happy as so few places seem to do so and it is my fave. We all got beef of some kind, I got the slow cooked beef it was so soft/nice. O/h got the steak and really liked it. The cheesecake he recommends, I had the lemon cream dessert, it was realy heavy especially after such a nice big meal, I only had two spoonfuls. Lighting and atmosphere was really nice and the waitress was attentive and good, 4/5.

Hmm, prawn salad was a large amount of prawns drowned in vinegary marie rose with 2 tablespoons of sad lettuce leaves and a few shards of peppers staff lovely though

Had a beautiful meal tonight off the Christmas menu. Cooked to perfection, piping hot, just delicious. Young waiting staff were good. Highly recommended.

I tried this for the first time and was slightly disappointed. The prices (as like most around here) were high, but the specials looked interesting. I had fish cakes to start, these cost £7.50, along came 2 small balls that i thought must be arancini for another table... they were not! The fishcakes were rather bland, nowhere near worth the cost. For main I had the Lamb with crushed sweet potato and mango, sounds interesting doesn't it?!! Well, it certainly was! For £26 I got overcooked lamb and 50/50 sweet potato/mango chutney mix... it was an experience, not a good one! No chef who tried their food would have sent that out, it didn't work. I may try this place again, just to see if it was an off day.

Such a dissapointment. The last time we were here for lunch everything was really good and beautifully cooked. This night all my chips were hard and unpleasant as was my partners and my salad was old and limp not fresh at all. Really disappointing. What is the chef doing wrong, but it won't help business.

I enjoyed the local food the quick and efficient service that made our day complete. It was a great end to a long journey North.

Great variety. Seems to be a place where the local folks come if they want to go out for dinner. Always a good sign.

Visited with friends for lunch and it was amazing. We all had the special fish cakes and they were delicious. Stag went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Lovely ambience sitting in the conservatory. A lovely afternoon, we will be back!

I ordered roast lamb. It was well cooked, tender and in a large enough quantity to provide a very satisfying meal. My wife had roast beef which she found excellent. I shall certainly truen if we are in Scotland again.

Disgusting greasy burger. The “side salad” came as the topping for the burger. Couldn’t finish half due to grease.

Stopped for an early dinner on the North Cape 500 drive. I had delicious pan-fried trout with mashed leeks and potatoes which were scrumptious. Friend enjoyed the vegetable curry. Both of us were wowed by the Sticky Toffee Pudding/Cake! Good service, quiet place to visit while dining.

Had a fantastic meal tonight. Piping hot, very tasty. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Stayed at the Park Hotel for two nights end of August and found the hotel comfortable and clean, prices in the bar were reasonable but although the lounge was open the bar is only opened on a Saturday night. Food was at best described as average and the evening meal had the impression of being pre-cooked with a sauce poured over it. this however was 100% better than the full breakfast which consisted of One Sausage, One Rasher of Bacon & One Egg. A guest asked for another sausage but was refused by the server on the grounds that the Breakfast Chef was temperamental, not the greatest Highland service I have experienced.

Repas correct bonne pie au bœuf et bon saumon , service nonchalent à l'accueil, mal organisé, allers retour inutiles erreur dans les plats commandés et surtout j'avais payé en liquide, je n'ai pas pu obtenir ma monnaie, on m'a parlé de pourboire, d'argent déposé sur la table... j'ai abandonné les 9£.. un peu contrarié par la pratique...

We've eaten here most evenings we've been in Thurso this year, which is about 8 times. Had intended originally just to eat there once in a week, but ended up there every evening because it's excellent. Great choice for each course, with a good selection of specials varying by the week. All food is, I think, cooked from scratch on the premises. It's as you would cook at home if you knew how and could be bothered. Delicious and plenty of it. Staff are efficient, friendly, with good sense of humour. Nothing amateur about this operation.

Prawn cocktail was one of best I’ve had. Overall food was really good and service was excellent. Will be returning when back in area.

Stayed at this hotel 2 days & enjoyed the full complimentary breakfasts plus 2 dinners & 1 lunch. All the meals were good + plentiful & reasonably priced thus this restaurant was always busy. Wait staff were also good.

Not really geared up to be a place to go to for a night out this is the restaurant of the Park Hotel which if you are staying there makes sense to eat in. The quality of the good, non gourmet food punches above its weight mostly because of the high quality local ingredients used. The service is friendly and efficient. Easy, relaxing place to dine.

After a hard day finishing our Orkney visit, arrived here starving. Both our meals, pulled pork and fillet beef rolled round haggis were divine and hit the spot

I attended the Park with a group for a friends birthday party, we got our drinks at the bar and went through to sit at our table in the dining room.

Went here late 1 Sunday after 8pm. Still quite busy . Menu is varied and good value for money. Starters were well presented and nice . Main course was of generous portions and very good . Steak was excellent . The Oldfield salad looked fantastic and I'd recommend it. Desserts were very nice.

When four people at the same table agree that their meals were very good, the restaurant must be doing something right. Here the menu seemed to cater for most tastes and was varied enough. The food was well cooked and presented. The view might not be the best but the glazed dining area is a pleasure to eat in.

No idea how the restaurant is (to be honest, we moped around inside until one of the wonderful staff realized we wanted to see a football match and led us to the right spot), but the pub was the perfect place to watch a game and have a few pints. People were welcoming and the dogs were a bonus for us, given we hadn't seen our pets for a few weeks. Recommended!

easily located - across from Tesco - so no problems there. food was over priced for what was on offer. I had Barmoral chicken with whiskey sause. The sauce was very bland, there were no vegs except a small portion of chips. Service as poor, waiter couldn't remember order. Plenty of sea food on offer - if you like fish!

Went for dinner with family. After ordering, waited a long time for a few starters, then almost the same amount of time to get the mains; this while the place was almost empty. Had the burger (£10.95 w/ bacon & cheese) and was highly disappointed. Not only was it tiny compared to the bun, but was overcooked & tasted like charcoal; probably due to how long I waited. Otherses looked more appetizing but were also underwhelming. Chips and potatoes were sparse; not visible in my pictures because they were served in a separate dish to share which seemed quite cheap.

Stayed at the Park again recently. For some reason lve not reviewed it before, don’t know why. The hotel is warm and inviting and has a nice air about it. I love sitting in the bar feeling refreshed and looking out on the weather outside. The food is good, the owner is lovely and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The only thing l would improve is fresh brewed coffee - but that’s just me. A great place.

just back home from a lovely meal out at the park hotel. i had the scampi and chips with peas and it was absolutely delicious. would definitely come back again.

Pre ordered a gluten free turkey dinner but did not get gluten free stuffing or chipolatas and nothing else instead. Very disappointed especially since it had been pre-ordered and those items are readily available locally and I was paying the same as everyone else. The general meal however was delicious.

We were here for a family meal and the staff could not have been nicer.

Ate here one night and the menu was surprisingly varied, with a good choice of mains and starters. The food was cooked well and the portions were generally more on the generous size than not. If you want a reasonable meal whilst in the area this is a good choice.

Having never eaten in the Park before I wasn’t sure what to expect. The menu offered a great range of choices and many of them appealed to me but I opted for the burger as we didn’t have a lot of time. When it first arrived I wasn’t overwhelmed by the presentation as it did seem, to some degree, rushed onto the plate, but once I tasted it I’d forgotten all about the presentation!

Service was excellent but food took a while to arrive and when it did it was cold. Chips weren't the nicest and didn't like having to share a tray with everyone else that was having chips.

Once again, the service and meal quality was excellent. It makes a difference when you are served with a smile! We all had different choices from the menu. They were all very tasty and of good quality and well presented.

The park is situated on the A9 as you drive into thurso ,it is across the river from the main town . The rooms are fery comfortable with pleasant views of the surrounding countryside with only a short walk into the town centre . The menu gives a varied selection to suit most people and the service is quick and professional

I come here quite often for lunch or dinner and the food is always spot on, very good! Only downside is whether it is busy or not service is always slow! Not the place to go if you're in a rush! Go in for lunch and you won't be hungry for dinner your food takes that long! That's the only fault I have but won't be returning until service speeds up unfortunately.

We just had dinner here and it was delicious. I had the chicken and chorizo penne pasta which was cooked in a spicey Cajun sauce, it was lovely and I would highly recommend this dish. My partner had the fish and chips which I had some and the fish was cooked perfectly in a lovely light golden batter. To make it even better she got fillets of the delicious haddock. The chips are always good here, good thick cut chunky chips and when you order the coronation sauce it makes it even better. Staff are always pleasant and helpful and food is reasonably priced.

I popped in for some dinner after a long day of working and driving. The waitress told me to sit anywhere and left a menu on the bar for me. I had a quick look and decided what I wanted. I put the menu down and 10 minutes later was offered a drink. The girl brought my drink over and walked away. Then both waitresses stood at the bar talking. Had the restaurant been busy and the girls serving lots of tables I would understand but standing at the bar talking while guests are waiting to eat is unacceptable. I started to look online at other places to eat in the area and I finally gave up after sitting for 30 minutes with no order taken. I had been once before when I stayed in the hotel and I do remember them being slow but not that bad. It's a shame as the food is good. It's the first time in my life I have left a restaurant hungrier than when I arrived!!

We stayed at the hotel last week and ate in the restaurant, I have reviewed this restaurant as part of the hotel. The food was excellent, it wasnt cheap but the quality and portions were excellent. We never sampled the deserts as they were not offered nor the coffee and the staff simply disappeared once the meal arrived, we never saw them again.We simply stood up and left paying our bill next day. The restaurant was cold as was the atmosphere. No tip left which could have been sizeable with there being 8 of us. Not Impressed.

I have stopped at this hotel on several occasions. Every time I visit the restaurant I have been served excellent food. The portions are large and very filling. On this visit My wife had the steak and Ale pie and it was full of beautiful large chunks of soft beef. She was unable to finish it all which was good news for me. I had the chicken that was very nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit.

We have eaten at this restaurant on occassions during the day but this is the first time we went in the evening, my husband had the soup which was wholesome (I had a spoonful), the fillet steak from Mey selections was perfect, the staff were friendly and attentive without being too obtrusive, I am looking forward to taking all of my family for a meal in the near future.

Came here yesterday with the family, service was very good and the food was brilliant,good sized portions and prices. Theres even toys in the corner for children so my son was happy. Will be back again

The portions are generous and the desserts are large, freshly cooked food, and we were very well fed here. The service was great with friendly polite staff, we ate in the bar and also in the restaurant, the bar was a more informal setting but the same menu as the restaurant. Worth every penny in my opinion.

I have been here a few times now and not once have I been dissapointed with the food. The staff are always friendly and the price is very reasonable. You can eat either in the resteraunt or in the cocktail bar, both are very pleasent to eat in.

For hotel, ask for rooms out back, inside rooms are fine, but rooms out back are better. Breakfast good.Restaurant: food good, try the 'Oldfields Salad' you will not need a starter as well.Plenty of car parking, Tesco opposite, walk into town.

Nous y avons dîné 2 soirs avec notre groupe et chaque fois nous avons été très satisfaits : des menus variés comprenant une entrée au choix, un plat principal à choisir parmi 4 le tout servi entouré de divers légumes et pour finir un succulent dessert. Le personnel de service efficace et aimable .

The menu offered a wide choice of dishes and the food was excellent, copious and the service excellent. The deserts were also great. The only problem was that there was too much !

Just had a Superb meal at the Park Hotel to celebrate our Anniversary. It honestly was the best meal we've ever had, the starter was delicious, Piri Piri chicken strips, then I had fillet beef medallions on a haggis cake - the sauce was to die for!! Hubby had chicken which was beautiful. The meal was piping hot and the service excellent. What a treat!

Chose this place due to proximity to our accommodation. We were not disappointed. The food was very well prepared and tasty. Can recommend fish and steak.The service was adequate but quite impersonal. The wine list was limited. But overall impression was very positive, since we did not expect it to be good.

I had an excellent business lunch at the Park Hotel. Attentive service and good honest food - classic bar menu choices - scampi, curry, steak & ale pie - generous portions wholesome food, good prices - will eat there again next time I'm in the area.

Owners really nice and make you sooo welcome. Mother and son . food really good as well which is really lovely. mmm just had their mac & cheese - scrumpious aslo I love their pasta dishes.

Last visit was on Friday 12/12/15. The staff were very busy but were still very attentive. The soup I had was home made chicken and mushroom, it was first class. (All their soups are home made.) I then had a beef steak pie. Brill, again I know that their beef is sourced locally and is succulent. My wife had a bit of haddie, you can see the harbour from whence it came. Again locally landed fish is always served. I did not take note of what my son and his wife had but they were much more than happy. Good food good service what more can a person ask for.

Staff were helpful and provided written gluten free menu. Large portions. Plenty of options. Locals appear to eat here.

The Park hotel is a local hotel which we frequent regularily.The choice of food is wide and varied and the food is great.Staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.

Both my wife and I enjoyed our meal. The service was good apart from the fact that instead of a Latte and Cappuchino we received two Lattes! Never mind, these things happen....

the food was clearly out of a freezer as no Sunday roast on the Sunday as it was lamb as the roast of the day ! Mmm odd! Pleasant staff but quite pricey

Attractive upon arrival, very welcoming, excellent service, excellent food, very nice rooms with lovely en-suite. Exceeded expectation, and we will absolutely be return customers.
