Easily one of the best cafes in Portsmouth for a breakfast. Have been eatting here fo over a year now and not once had a bad experience. Food is always cooked well and the portions are large. Although they used to be cash only the option to pay by card has been here for some time now which is good. I will say if it is busy the wait time will increase as there is currently only x2 people running the cafe. Service is also always warm and friendly and if you smoke there is a garden area, plus a non-smoking gazembo type area out back. Love this place!

Known locally as a great place to get a breakfast. A bit pricey for my veggie breakfast which to be fair the chef did alter. I have never had a unsatisfactory meal. Very clean. Good selection of food . Closes mid afternoon and I'm fairly sure it used to be shut on a Monday. Typical café food with "specials". Very nice outside area.

genuinely nice food and staff nice little place. I would visit it more often but I work night shifts so I'm mostly asleep when that are open which is a shame but I totally love their food

Nice Sunday lunch in local cafe. Roast dinner ok, gravy needs to be a bit thicker tho! Syrup sponge and custard was delicious. Outside garden is really nice and the service is really friendly. Definitely worth a visit:)

I must remember never to go back to this place again. We’ve been before and had an enjoyable experience, but the last few times have been dreadful. We’ve walked in and sat at a vacant table, only to be shepherded back to the door rudely. Then the host then led us back to the same table. Very unnecessary. On our latest visit I ordered a Pina Colada. When it arrived I had a couple of sips and really didn’t like it. It was not creamy at all and just taste of really sweet syrup. I took it back, she offered to remake, but I didn’t another one. When my husband paid the bill they refused to remove my drink. I have never know such bad customer service over a £10 cocktail. They have lost a customer.

Second oldest pub in Portsmouth and it is the highlight of the place. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room is small with wonky electricity and plumbing, but I guess one must expect that in a 300 year old building. The wifi works well. Staff are businesslike. I wouldnt stay here again, but I'm glad I had the experience.

Never been met by people in a small business so annoyed to receive custom, tutted and huffed as I entered the shop, yes it was 14:45 and the shop closed at 15:00 but that’s no excuse. I ordered 2 rolls, once the filling was in the roll I stated which salad I would like in each and was told there was no salad left?? No discount offered and to make matters worse when opening the rolls outside the shop the fillings were incorrect. Another customer entered the shop behind me the staff members both rolled their eyes and gave him a dirty look, if you don’t want to be selling products until you close maybe worth advising a cut off time for rolls and food to be made. The filling in the rolls was a good portion and tasted good but wasn’t what I ordered. I won’t be returning
