Parity grimsby in North East Lincolnshire

Only had drinks but every time we have called in the staff have been friendly and the bar area is always clean and tidy.

My friends and I popped in for lunch whilst in town shopping. We found plenty of seating available at 1.30 and sat down to view the menu. I nipped to the ladies loo ( upstairs) after ordering our meals. I have to say,it was very dingy and smelly,paint peeling off walls, just generally unpleasant. Should have known then not to expect much!! We ordered 2 meals spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and the offer of 3 small plates for £14 ( cheesy garlic bread,chicken skewers, and chicken wings to share. When it arrived, we were disappointed. The cheesy garlic bread was a part baked baguette cut into 4 pieces, which looked very aneamic. The cheese had hardly melted. Once we picked a piece up, it was barely warm. I returned it back to the bar, and the woman apologised. She swiftly returned, saying it was very hot now. The colour hadn't changed of the cheese at all. The bread was doughy and half cooked. As though they had wizzed it in the microwave for a minute. When we saw the accompanying garlic bread with the meatballs, it was toasted and crisp. Nothing compared to ours. Again, we returned to the bar to complain, taking the crisp garlic bread for comparison. The 2 chicken skewers were OK, and that's pushing it!! Not seasoned, slightly mushy texture in the middle. The chicken wings, however, was a different story. They were also aneamic with rubbery skin that was hard to bite through. Smothered in fiery hot sauce as well as 2 pots of sauce on the side. Think this was to cover the unsightly wings. They were inedible. Even breaking them apart was hard work. Not crispy skin, lukewarm, again mushy meat. Possibly frozen? All in all, we ate 1 skewer each and a mouthful of the wings each. By this time, the cheesy garlic bread returned. It looked exactly the same as the first time. In fact, it was the same 3 pieces that had been returned 3 times previously. As one piece still had the hot sauce on the end, it was not a fresh one. We eventually decided that £14 for 2 skewers was ridiculous and wanted to speak to the manager. I did ask if he microwaved the food, and he assured me everything was homemade? I beg to differ!!! He did refund us for the garlic bread and wings, but £5 for 2 chicken skewers ( we had eaten them begrudgingly as starving ) on a plate was a bit much. I can honestly say I wouldn't go again to eat. It was expensive for what you got. At least in Wetherspoons, you get a bit of greenery and for a lot cheaper,and generally decent food.

I got a toastie with cheese the toast was toasted the cheese hadn't been melted at all, everyone left most of their meals,if your going to do meals get a chef,or don't charge so much

Nice and relaxing and food was good too. Lovely friendly staff.

They have a great breakfast and are very good adjusting to Gluten free for me. Staff are very friendly and it is a nice atmosphere.

Been in here a few times and the food is alway nice, we went at 4:30 on a Saturday night and there was a few people in but the music was so loud it was difficult to chat and then when the football match started the volume was turned even higher. While I understand its a Saturday night the volume really was unnecessary for the amount of people in the bar

I haven’t a clue what the burger was made out of but it was vile it used to be nice this place I’ll stick to a pint next time and get food elsewhere

30 minutes waiting in an empty place, nobody came to take my order.

Sat 23nd July,decided on starting in Parity at 1pm,total eventually was over 20 of us,friends from work & some family.Great drinks and prices,games of pool and plenty of chat/banter.Staff were great,we had such a good time that we remained for approx 5 hours before finally moving on elsewhere.Will happily return !!

OK for a quick lunch but place needs some tlc in all areas. A separate section for children would be an idea too. Food basic

Was taken here by my niece for breakfast, my first time.. what a fab little place this is.. plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and hot, the staff were very friendly, especially Mark who seemed very happy to be there. Will definitely be visiting again x

1st time in this pub with my wife and it is a friendly place good food and drinks great service from the staff plus you can also take kids in plus a few outside tables

The pub had a good menu that wasn't too pricey. The food was tasty. The staff were friendly, including the young lady who helped open the disabled toilet.

Dirty, grubby. Tables sticky even after being washed. Food was OK at best. Good service

I ordered a large English breakfast Do feel that the eggs need a little work (quite firm yolks) and thus boiled /poached maybe and so-called Lincolnshire sausage again seems to be cooked in a similar way and not delivering much taste Not much going off at the bar and staff don't have any enthusiasm I asked for a scrambled egg option for my wife and got what looked like a sloppy watery egg disk (supposedly scrambled egg) Had to send back for so called fried egg. If you're expecting a fried breakfast I'd look elsewhere I must have wrested my hand on the table at some point and noticed no attempt to clean the tables was evidant too. Sticky/dirty

Nice place very handy for shoppers coffee rather expensive except filter coffee in a mug, various size of cups for other coffee's,very little handles, you get toast in a bowl very had to spread butter and jam, don't know why they don't use plates. Food is quite good but could take a long time to reach your table, even when not busy, staff very friendly.

We went in there just before Christmas. My wife and I had been shopping and never had breakfast . When we got in and found a table I went to the bar to order our meals. I asked if it was to late for breakfast and she said yes, but they do a similar meal with chips. I ordered two and two teas. There were only five people in sat down waiting to eat. People came in after us and I noticed they were getting served almost straight away? After being sat down a hour and a quarter the woman who had served me at the bar came running past with a tray of food for someone who came in after us? On her way past I said excuse me but have you forgotten us flower. She said sorry there's only three of us and ones cooking in the kitchen. We're very busy? Five people in with us and very busy. By now there were ten more in who were eating who came in after us. A friend of ours came in with her family and said you been sat here long? We replied a hour and a half? They said we're going to Mac Donald's then. I said wish we had. Then all of a sudden the food appeared! They went and the waitress said sorry it's late but we're rushed off our feet. My wife and I looked at each other amazed? We started to eat the bacon and chips were cold .The eggs dried up the same as the beans and tomatoes. The butter was frozen solid for the bread. Marks out of ten minus 1. We will never ever go in there again and the prices were sky high. We left half of the meals they were that bad. I would have sent it back but we ate a bit each as we were Hank Marvin. And we might still be sat ther waiting for the waitress to return .Never again. Yours C. Cole.

Was on my way to work far too early, So decided I wanted food before my shift. Popped into the parity. Lovely central location. Easy to navigate menu..the waitress was so lovely and engaging.. I got the chicken and bacon baguette, absolutely hit the spot..thanks Mark x

I visited this pub at 10.45am on a weekday. Attempted to order a breakfast, but wanted a few items left off it (no toast, beans or mushrooms). The staff member seemed flustered and annoyed, telling me ‘you’re best off telling me what you *do* want, as I have got to write it all down’. Breakfast came - sausage was cheap, the half tomato looked like a cherry tomato - tiny! And I have no idea what the egg was fried in, but it tasted awful. Probably very old oil. Overall - miserable staff, quite unclean both inside and outside, full of hardcore drinkers…even before 11am.

Excellent staff. Good food and beer. Sports on the TV's and a pool table.

This bar looked great from the outside but when we walked in we noticed only 2 tables had people on them and a man on a fruit machine!!! Went to order a drink and told that Doom Bar isn't on tonight do had to order another drink, nice comfy chair but no atmosphere and bad modern music playing, just no atmosphere so not a great time in the bar which does look nice.

Stopped off for some lunch. Had our dog with us, so sat outside. Ordered via their website, so didn't see inside. The food was lovely and well priced. Definitely recommend the pizza that my daughter had... she said it was lovely. Not the cleanest outside (cigarette ends, etc) but was acceptable and typical of a city centre pub. The man who brought our food out was great though, and couldn't do enough to help us.

Table was very sticky not been cleaned for a long time.

Ordered off the Tapas menu, chicken was undercooked with blood on the bone, halloumi fries were cremated, when complained the cook (not chef) stated that the chicken was cooked and it was red meat, obviously she was an expert NOT, pre frozen food and not cooked correctly by this cook!!! Not impressed!!!

Toilet not available been waiting 20 minutes for the disabled tiolet and felt uncomfortable all together

This is the first time there and I enjoyed it food drinks and service was brilliant

Staff never smile, they don't make any communication with you whilst handing out drinks and menus. Waiting half an hour on a not busy day to even get served. Asked the lady twice if we can order then took someone's order that came in after us. From what I can only think it was on purpose! Won't be going back there.

Beats wetherspoons hands down on food and service.. go there instead 😉

Customer service needs a review, snotty lady spoke to us, not impressed, food was average, cheese slices on our meal, whats wrong with grated proper cheese. Glad we're all entitled to our opinions... the next person might enjoy the place.

Nearly 2 hrs waiting on club sarnies. Wen it arrived burnt and wet was a disgrace. Ppl were walking out, ridiculous. If it had been busy then excusable it was not!

The Parity is a decent pub, great staff and reasonable prices.I would NOT read too much into 2 reviews from August(below) They both obviously have a chip on their shoulder.I would gladly go or take friends/family to the parity.We often call in during our days out, without regret.👍

Fairly relaxed place for a quiet drink..a game of pool..and a tables to sit outside. Recently refurbished so very clean.

Nice tidy place and very well set up for social distances

Me and my friends sat at our table for an hour after we paid waiting for our dinner. When our food arrived my cola had run flat so i asked for another. The answer i got from the staff was that i had taken a zip from the drink and could not get a new one. Another thing was the bad smell in the air around the bar area. It smelled like piss. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy :/ Hope this is just because of covid circumstances but doubt it.

Had to wait over an hour for a very simple pizza. When it finally arrived it was not good at all. Place looked and smelled dirty.

I have been going In parity 2 years now I don't drink, but it's more like a cafe then a pub in a good way. Can take ya kids the atmosphere is friendly and it's clean with carona even cleaner

Called in here for lunch on a Friday whilst we’d been doing our shopping as it was convenient . It was fairly busy but there were tables available. We chose one as far away from the bar as we had children with us. The menu was good and it didn’t take long for the food to served . Our table was dirty from previous users so I went and asked for it to be cleaned .there was no one around clearing or wiping so we did it our selves in the end with baby wipes. The food was ok for what we’d paid . We wouldn’t go in again with children . There was lots of bad language from drinkers and other tables of diners .

Went in for lunch for my birthday, my bf ordered food and drinks, when he brought over my drink the glass was dirty with lipstick marks, I asked to get me another, the 2nd glass was worse, I stuck to my first glass and wiped it with a napkin, if this is how the front of house is, we didn't want to eat their, God knows what they did in the kitchen, I asked to cancel my order and wanted a refund, the girl asked why I said hygiene reasons, I've just had a 2nd glass it's dirty and we really don't want to eat here, was advised couldn't give me a refund as its already started cooking, so I asked to speak with the manager, he was unavailable, so I said cancel the order, another member of staff came over and gogw they will give us a refund, I showed her my glasses which were dirty, she said she would get me another clean glass I watched her pick another glass up, then walk bk to get another as she noticed it was dirty and put it bk, she brought the "clean" glass over, I said look at it it's dirty, she said it was water marks, (If it looks dirty don't give it to a customer) received my refund, it wasn't busy the staff should have been cleaning, the tables were dirty and sticky, empty glasses were on other tables, the staff didn't care, I would have been ashamed giving someone a 2nd glass dirty, u should make sure if they are asking for a clean glass that they get one and check it, I use to love coming here but u can see why nobody wants to its dirty, the staff don't care about customer service, their is never any toilet paper in the ladies, they never do hourly checks, the manager needs sacking to get this place in order, it's ashame it used to be a nice place to come, I've looked on the other reviews on here and the reviews are telling u it's DIRTY, please clean the place, why as a paying customer would u want to spend money on a dirty pub, ur letting urself and town drinkers down Get ur bar staff to clean, they shouldn't need telling ur supposed to do this, when a customer leaves a table clean it with a cloth and spray, when a customer buys a second round wait 5 mins, go collect dirty glasses, u really have no excuse as ur not a busy pub, and their were about 10 customers with 3 bar staff

Popped in for breakfast lovely little pub shame the table opposite us ad a chicken bone on the table (27) frm the previous day and down side of the booth we sat in were dirty with used napkins and food on the floor. The food as ever was delicious and tasty the lady behind the bar friendly and helpful she was polite

Eight of us called in to watch first game of season on a Friday evening,we ordered drinks,found a great space to sit together and watch the footy.We then ordered two pizzas for £5 and a few bowls of chips to share too.The food was excellent and very filling,drinks were fab and to top it all,our team won 4-1,great time had by all.Well done staff at parity 😀👍⚽️

Pub is in desperate need of a make over the toilets are horrific, only one member of staff serving in busy period, and some etching on the large frontage windows would stop people staring in at u as they Walk past while ur eating, food was fine beer was fine, different times of day definitely changes this pub, which is a shame

Popped in on the spur of the moment for a breakfast. One person was on the bar she seemed polite and helpful. Placed our order for our breakfast waited the usual 10/12 mins wait. Plate was of decent size good quality food I'd go again

During the day not so bad nice well presented food but then comes to night time with all the pimpled chinned chavs come out with the pocket money to drink pints of what they cant handle and cause all types of trouble for the door staff that come over from other puds ans clubs to deal with it parity needs to put an end to the chavasion

Took my 89 year old mum here. Access for wheelchair wasn’t to bad and seating and tables were ok. It’s a noisy pub but made a change for mum. Ordered our meal and waited about 20 minutes which is not bad. Unfortunately when it arrived the sausages looked boiled and grey, very unappealing to say the least. Took mums back and asked if they could be browned for her, which to be fair they did do but it took another 15 minutes before her meal came back. We then realised the mash was the instant stuff and stodgy, and although the sausages were supposed to be Lincolnshire ones, the whole meal was tasteless. Won’t be having a return visit.

Popped in for breakfast and waited 10 minutes to be served fair enough only one person serving at bar and acting as waitress but still further 20 minute wait for breakfast and then wished we hadn't wasted the first 30 minutes. I have never seen white toast but now I have and I can't say I was impressed. Coffee from coffee maker full of coffee granules. Drank what I could of the coffee took the under cooked sausage and bacon home for the dog and made do with an egg on the white toast. Not a place I would consider returning to.

Was ok but very quiet for such a big place. Not a fan of establishments with toilets upstairs. Had a Stella and moved on.

Good food and a pleasant environment. Child friendly and would definitely recommend going here for an afternoon meal with the family. Best to avoid if there is a large sporting event on but friendly staff and great food make this a good place to go!

Had to wipe my feet on the way out. Been in 3 times... First time the beer tasted funny, got a bottled beer. Second time... Beer tasted funny, got a bottled beer. Third time... Sniffed my friends, hers smelt weird, she got a bottled beer. Mens toilets were appalling each time. Think I'll skip this place in future. Will go somewhere that's actually clean.

Shocking lunchtime service. Had an hour for lunch before work, barely 10 tables with people on them. Ordered burger and chips for 2 people. After 30 minutes we checked where our food was and was told they were taking longer than usual due to being busy. After 50 minutes we got our money back and left.
