Love coming here for the cocktails. Good range, reasonable prices. The bar is good overall with a good atmosphere. Well worth popping in on a night out

Left a review 18 months ago having not had a great experience here for food. Fast forward to now, only came for drinks but had a great night watching the boxing, having a dance and quick service at the bar despite being packed out.

Quite nice decor inside, and good table and chairs for outside. Didn't eat but just called in a drink. Staff seemed friendly but can't comment about food. Enjoyed the short time we were there.

A large bar with friendly staff and a pleasant enough room however my visit to the men's toilet revealed one cubicle out of order and the other splattered in blood. It was busy with a mix of people of varying ages. Security seemed polite.

Friday food and a couple of cocktails with a friend. Served by a lovely polite lady called Abii, food arrived promptly and very nice. Abii is an asset to you!

Por desgracia, el servicio era muy lento algunos de nuestro grupo pasó por la oferta, aunque estaban allí mucho antes del corte. El personal del bar eran menos de experto, pero el gerente nos salvó el día con algunos mucho apreciamos la hospitalidad!

Paramos aquí sábado tarde para un bocadillo rápido, elegimos unos pocos elementos del menú como una especie de tapas. La comida estaba bien cocido aunque estábamos contra él por tiempo.

Fuimos un grupo de 5. El servicio era excelente, desde fuera. La calidad de la comida era excelente y muy razonable. Buena selección de cervezas. Servidor fue sin duda lo más destacado - sentí como si ella no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros. Todos en nuestro grupo estaba encantada con la atención. Sin duda volveremos. (creo que gracias Abii escanda, derecha).

Great pub/restaurant in popular bar area of Cleethorpes, great for business use in day and entertaining, patries in the evening

Took an age to be served and get drinks. Was a nightmare. But that's the only moan. And really it was worth the wait. Everyone was having a good time. The place was so busy and couldn't see any trouble at all. There was plenty of bouncers about just incase. Drinks were cold (always a bonus as some others nearby were serving warm drink yucky)

Me and my fiancée went here for her birthday and I previously read the reviews prior to my visit and should of gone with my gut instinct and not bothered but I decided to give if a chance since it did say on previous reviews it does get rowdy after 9pm so I decided to book a table for 6pm. Firstly when we entered it was very very loud and there was already people raising there voices and it was in a very aggressive manor. I was very very shocked I work in a bar and grill myself and it's nothing like this. Nothing was done about the people acting aggressively and it's definitely not a place to eat at all. What I'm trying to put across is if you're going to operate food and drink make sure that you have simple rules for customers and think of those who are eating there. No swearing, aggressive behaviour and management ask the people to leave immediately or just be a bar instead of a food place too. Trust me from my experience you ruined my fiancées birthday and will not be returning unless you sort this big big messed up venue

Been coming here for a while now and never had a bad experience,all the staff are spot on and on the ball, ate here last night and the piri piri chicken dish was outstanding hat off to chef, will definitely be back soon thanks

We have visited Harvey's tonight. I chose salmon but unfortunately there was none left. My husband picked pizza and I then decided on belly pork. We didn't have to wait too long. The food was excellent and a good serving. We could of shared chips there were far too many for one person. Unfortunately our evening was spoilt by a loud mouthed customer in the bar who swore and shouted the whole time we were in there. The lady behind the bar told him the music couldn't be turned up but he kept insisting it should be. He completely ruined our dining experience. I think as people were eating he should of been asked to be quiet. We left as soon as we finished our meal. The food was lovely. The atmosphere wasn't

Nice enough food and half price cocktails, can't go wrong if you want some decent bar food at a reasonable price. Perfect for a casual night out. I had a chicken burger which I enjoyed however not sure what was going on with the chips they were really hard as though they may have been reheated. Keep them fresh as they used to be good!!Good portion size- pretty much get what you pay for. Nice serving staff too.Gets very loud on the weekend about 9pm so be prepared for this if you are there for a chat!

We had a meal for my daughters 21st nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent and plenty of it, service was excellent manager mark was very helpful friendly and polite we had a fab evening thankyou.

Wonderful service and excellent food tonight at Harvey's. Made a special occasion extra special. Thanks to Mark for his 5* service and all the staff at Harveys for making tonight brilliant. X

13 of us had a meal here on Friday night. We had to pre order our food a week before which was fine. Unfortunately although we pre ordered they seemed to get members of the parties orders wrong. We had to send a pizza platter back at it was burnt and then when the new one came out it wasn't the best either. The chicken burgers was not as described. They tasted awful!! This was a very disappointing visit.I would like to say the waiters was fantastic and dealt with it great. They knocked some meals off the order and gave 2 of the girls a free drink for the wait. I wouldn't eat here again. The cocktails are fantastic and I will go back for drinks in the future just would not be a place I would choose to dine in again.

I like Harvey's as a bar and have eaten at most of the other venues in the chain. I like them all, especially the Coach House. However, this place really needs to make it's mind up about where it wants to head.There were 11 of us and had to discuss rearranging the tables, so we could all actually sit together, despite nobody else being in there at the time (6pm). We had originally reserved more places, so had to pre-order. However, despite only myself ordering a starter, the mains took over an hour to come and we were the first booking in. This was probably the case, due to the fact rock music was blasting out the kitchens, where it sounded like the staff in there were having a party! This was made worse by a drunken woman (part of a group at the front of the bar) was screaming her head off for the best part of an hour. At no time was she asked to calm down, let alone asked to leave.As for the food, it was bland and not of any real quality. The tuna is supposed to come with crushed potatoes and salad. A pile of rocket leaves does not constitute a salad, I'm afraid.I have to say, the waitresses and bar staff were helpful and friendly, but apart from that, it was not great.Looking back, my "average" rating is probably a bit generous.

On a summer trip to visit Grimsby football ground to see our local team in a friendly game, we started our day in Cleethorpes. We had a stroll around and came across this bar and restaurant. The bar was busy but there was a large eating area at the rear. Even though it was busy in the bar the restaurant was still quite quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. The waiting staff were friendly and advised on the directions to the ground on foot, which was along the sea front, really helpful. The food was tasty and nicely presented. A lovely lunch in a good lively atmosphere on a lovely summers day.

went on monday night with wife for the 2 pizzas for £10 deal and half price cocktails.wasnt busy lovely atmosphere, clean ,lighting dimmed, music soft not blearing out .service excellent cocktails brilliant and pizzas fantastic best we have had in ages bases tasty and lots of toppings highly reccomend the chicken one and the bolognase one will definitely be back.also do other deals on food might have to try those as well

Lovely food, has a great atmosphere and lovely staff. I came with my mum for lunch we ordered for starters chicken wings and plaice goujons, the presentation was great and the taste was awesome. For mains we both had the chicken with lemon and garlic with fresh green beans and cabbage the flavor was superb and looking forward till the next time i come.

Food was great would definitely go again! Service was brilliant, the cocktails are really tasty. The pizzas was good but it cost a lot extra to change the topping or swap toppings.

Waited quite a long time to get served, staff just hanging around and not prompt when serving.They haven't a clue about half the products on the menus, probably best to look into what is on them and when asked, don't give a funny look like I'm meant to know :/ peopleHave allergies etc so descriptions would help, especially on the rushed Halloween cocktail menu! Needs a few more tables in the venue and it would probably be a nice place! Unfortunately after one long wait and eventually having a drink it was enough to leave!

Went tonight with a friend and had a pasta dish, this came swimming in olive oil and the mushrooms were gritty like they hadn't been washed. When we complained as we both ordered the same dish the waiter came back from the kitchen and said it was because the cream had split. What rubbish. We were offered a desert to share or a free coffee as an apology. Not good enough. I now have really bad tummy ache.

I've been a few times for food and cocktails.we went again recently to try the new menu it's always hit and miss in there.burgers are literally a ball of meat with a fair bit of grissle in them.foods presented well you get what you pay for.can not fault the cocktails tho

me and three others tried there Sunday night steak night as we have seen it posted on facebook a lot, so we through we would give it ago!The guy that served us didn't really know what he was doing, and couldn't tell us any information about the steak night...... so we didn't really know what we could have! as soon as we sat down the music got louder and we was shouting at each other... it was stupid, there was no one else in really! For a place that is posting all over facebook about a steak night, you would off through that the staff, DJ and mangers would be thinking about the customers that are going to eat! our steak came but no added extra like tomatoes, mushroom or onion rings which was bet disappointing.... But the steak was cooked perfect! we would off enjoyed our evening out so much more if the music wasn't banging out louder and louder while we was trying to eat, and shouting at each other! we won't be returning in a hurry!

The location is ok, the food quite good, the burgers were very good , very busy on saturday and very very noisy had to shout at times over the music

Saturday afternoon, wanted to watch the footy, just popped in. Atmosphere was good, bought some drinks and found a nice table with a good view of a TV of which there are multiple around the room. Waiter was prompt and asked if we were ready to order, two burgers on a deal for £9.95! Food was quickly delivered to our table, lovely burger although mine could have maybe done with a little longer on the griddle but it was OK. Fantastic chips and coleslaw, overall a great meal. Would definitely visit again.

Venue is nice . One member of staff was friendly but the rest rather supercilious . We had an early dinner chicken wings to start were Ace. DH had belly pork main which he enjoyed but did not like the crackling and said he would have liked some apple sauce. I had rump steak with chips and green veg I enjoyed it all. For afters we were offered lemon cake but then told there wasn't any left which seemed strange as we were first in for dinner, Bill came to just over £30 including a bottle of wine.

The food was really good.. only downside is it so busy in the as it is a busy pub as well and the music is really loud

We booked here on a busy Friday and they managed to fit us in, the girl answering the phone was very polite. Up on arrival we was greeted by the waiter a guy with glasses, friendly and welcoming he sat us at our table a cosy booth, I've drank in Harvey's a number of times but never took notice of the restaurant and considering it's in a busy bar you don't notice all that and you still get the restaurant atmosphere. We ordered drinks and mains opting for the mac burger and the slow braised belly pork. I had the belly pork when it arrived I was taken back by it's presentation as I wasn't expecting it to look as beautiful as it did having said before about the busy bar venue, being an ex chef I have worked in high end kitchens in manchester and this dish and presentation met those same standards it was delicious. The mac burger which I also tried was tasty and definitely home made the chips we're also lovely and I'd agree the burger was better than McDonald's Big Mac which im guessing this was obviously a take on, I will say however this burger is huge! Deffo a mans portion haha the actual beef burger is really chunky for me personally one would of been enough with the chunky chips also but hey it's not a bad thing just a shame to waste it. Beautiful cocktail (raspberry collins) as always!All in all an enjoyable visit and really good food! Will recommend

Visited here on the off chance to have a drink, after my partner enjoyed her cocktail we decided to have a look at the menu and stay for lunch. There was a two courses for £9.95 menu with a good selection of lovely sounding food. We definitely weren't disappointed, the food was lovely and the portions were much bigger than we expected them to be ordering from the reduced menu. Would recommend and return.

Had a meal with a fair sized party crammed onto two small tables. The atmosphere amongst us was fine, but the rest of the bar is a cram in a young crowd with alcopops and cocktails kind of place. They don't serve any craft beers or real ales.When the food arrived, it was not of the quality I would expect. I ordered a burger, and it came on a plate with greaseproof paper, coleslaw and chips. The chips were of a reasonable quality but the burger meat was of a standard that tasted very low quality and cheap to buy in. For the price it cost it just wasn't good enough.Getting served at the bar or paying for your meal is also a task as is frequented a by late teen/early twenties type crowd who use the bar for the local pub run.I would not go back. The décor may be trendy, but the atmosphere, food quality, and offering of drinks is very very poor compared to other establishments.

Started off bad. Sat outside waiting for a drink for 10 minutes. We decided to go inside as it was raining and what looked like the manager came over to as if we wanted to order. He was friendly but didn't smile once. The one girl behind the bar also didn't smile once and the older blond woman spilt a drink down my daughter because she wasn't looking what she was doing when clearing the tables. The girl with the bandana and tattoos was lovely. We had fab food and cocktails. Just a shame about the service

Visited with my daughter for a birthday. We had the steak and it was cooked beautifully. We ate early and then had the cocktails and got a very good deal on both.. They were both on special offer. Two steaks for a set price and half price cocktails between 6 and 7pm.Enjoyed the visit although it does get very crowded after 6pm and very noisy. Very popular.

newish venue ,and central plus near station and beach. ample parking nearby if needed.well worth a visit , very cleanplace and excellent staff and service.A very varied menu with special meals on selected days.

My husband and who are regular visitors came for lunch and it was the first time we have been since the new menu was introduced. Despite there still being a good choice on the menu we were both absolutely shocked at the increase in the prices and not just by small amounts!! Also, no of the special offers they usually had although our waitress said they were going to bring them back, so why not now. However, we both did order the new pizzas now made with fresh pizza dough, which were delicious. This is a place that is usually really busy but we were the only customers in for most of our visit. We felt that they could be pricing themselves out of the market as the young/older clientele that frequently visit would find it too expensive now. Also to remember that it is a bar with a restaurant and you still can have the loud guys sat in the bar not far away from your table. Previously we could have come in on the pizza offer day and had 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine for £14.95 - today our bill was £35 for 2 pizzas a bottle of wine and a coke !!!!!

Was so excited to go here for our anniversary as I'd been recently with friends and loved the menu. So much choice even for a picky eater like me. When I got there I was so disappointed that they had changed the menu, couldn't choose one thing I wanted. They bought my order out wrong, and when it was replaced it was cold and the meat looked undercooked. It was served on greaseproof paper on a plate which just kept getting in the way. My partner was equally displeased with his steak. They seem to have tried to make the menu more 'posh' but this doesn't fit with the atmosphere- especially when the dj starts up as it is a bar. Wasn't worth the money we paid and we kept being asked if we wanted the bill, as if trying to get rid of us. Don't know why as they had stopped serving food and no-one would have wanted the table after us. Much better before they changed the menu, doubt I'll be back.

If you create a menu don't try to copy other restaurants.It's obviously not working! Or if you copy (i.e.board platters) don't do them the same way ...I think you should employ a more experienced chef and not a copycat thieve

I booked Harvey's for food and cocktails for a colleagues 50th .paid deposit as requested picked up menus as with a big group had to have pre orders which took me a while to get all together went to take the pre orders on Monday for our thur booking .To be told oh our kitchen is shut till thur and we are opening with a new menu of fine dining ..and I should never of been given that menu and should of been informed ,,I feel that this is very poor customer service ..I did manage to get a refund after a phone call to one manager and then speaking to another manager ..so 17 very dussapointed ladies .. I did put a review on the Facebook page but it got removed !! ,Appalling service and organisation ...

Food and atmosphere and service and friendly staff all very good. Have been a few times and prices are good and the choice is good. Good variety.

Me and my partner visited Harvey's recently for a meal. I ordered a garlic margharita pizza platter and my partner ordered steak and ribs. My platter came as a garlic bread platter with no tomato base but I didn't complain as I was starving. My partners meal came as ordered with the meat cooked as requested. The food was really nice, gorgeous coleslaw on the side too, couldn't complain. The waitress that served us seemed to be in a bad mood and set the tables by banging the condiments down and looking miserable in general. She didn't give us eye contact and forgot to come and collect our plates once we'd finished. The whole experience was clouded by the fact that we didn't feel well looked after.We did however really enjoy the food which was really cheap for the quality, and the atmosphere was lovely.

This is the second visit to Harveys. The first was for a birthday meal. Some had Burgers and some had the Baguettes. The portions are huge! and to add to this the price and quality is not compromised! The food was great and the lady serving did a great job considering it seemed a few staff had called in sick. She did her best and apologized for not being able to give us as much attention. The second visit was with family and we had the steak deal on a Sunday. two steaks for £10 is a great deal. We was a little nervous if it would be quality but we was pleasantly surprised, the steak was cooked perfect and the chips where great. The only issue with service was we ordered two sides when had we known you get Onion rings with the meal we wouldn't have so I just felt the waitress could have informed us and maybe told us that getting two sides would be quite a lot. But other than that it was great both times and we will be returning again soon.

this place has gone downhill in the last year, they employ youngsters who haven't got a clue!! They can't cook steak or make cocktails, Customer service is shocking

Me and my friends visited the establishment on Saturday 18th and the young man served us who was making the cocktails that night alongside a pleasant pregnant woman, they were both very entertaining to watch and very polite, the young man made us feel very welcome!! We previously was drinking at the bobbin next door and we can all say the cocktails at Harvey's was noticeably better on taste and presentation!! 10/10

We was celebrating my wife's 30th party and we visited this establishment as we do on many occasions. Before I state the reasons for the 1 star review I must say it's purely down to the vile bar lady who seems to throw insults at customers like it's acceptable. On Saturday we was waiting patiently for our drinks when a cocktail was being prepared by the mentioned lady. As the cocktail was being prepared the bright red juice splashed on both my new top and a pleasant lady stood next to me. Surprisingly after looking down at my top and also not saying a word. I received an insult straight from the lovely lady behind the bar who had just splashed my shirt. She also made a very unfair comment about the lady stood next to me. After stood in complete shock utter dismay. I then waited for the lady to make our cocktails and left the bar. I believe this is a regular occurrence for the sed lady to cause issues with customers as 2 members of our group was not surprised at all when I mentioned how rude the expecting lady was when attending the bar. Unfortunately they have had similar experiences! I really do begrudge leaving a poor rating as i usually never review but on this occasion I believe it has to be noted for others who may relate to similar experiences. It's also worth noting I fully understand how busy it was Saturday and can imagine the staff member was pretty stressed but I feel very unfairly treated and that behaviour cannot be accepted.

Me and my wife nipped in for lunch on a wim midweek for a bit of lunch. We both chose burgers from the menu, of which there is a vast variety to choose from. I had the chilli beef burger. This was a great thick and juicy beef burger (a bit lacking in taste if I'm honest) topped with chilli con carne, nachos and craime fraiche. This was served with plenty of chips and a very nice dressed salad.... All in all a decent meal for its ca.£8 price tag. My wife had the chicken burger with cheese bacon and bbq sauce. A whole chicken breast inside a bunch with the aforementioned toppings.....delicious! Served with the same salad and chips. The food overall was to a good standard and we both cleared our plates. As for the venue...not much lighting in the day which dulls the appeal a bit and the atmosphere was a bit lacking. I think to establish this as a thriving daytime venue it needs to find its identity to a degree.That said we shall more than likely return again in the future on an evening to see how it compares.

Came for a meal on a Friday evening with intentions of staying for drinks after.On arrival two other tables were seated with 15 or so drinkers in the bar area, told that our drinks order would be taken shortly.Food order taken after twenty minutes but this waiter could not take our initial drinks orders as well? After another 10 minutes he reappeared, as the lady taking the drinks orders seemingly had no intention of acknowledging us, never mind taking our order. The food came out very quick, probably took 15 minutes but was all cooked and didn't look a microwave job. The other's in my party had sirloin steak but 2/3 of which were fat and was left. I had the BBQ chicken breast and was impressed. First drinks arrived towards the end of the meal after prompting a third member of staff.The table adjacent to us were told not to order cocktails during happy hour (half-price cocktails) as they would take half an hour, which explained some of our wait. Seems pointless to advertise such a deal really. Said cocktails were charged at full-price on the bill and seemed as if it was a common mistake (or trick?) when challenged so watch out.When 3 of the party leave over half of their meal most waiters would ask why but nothing was said. The gent seemed over-worked and was compensating for the lack of work by the girl who liked her fake-tan. The whole experience could be turned round with some decent management I felt, most of the staff are probably there to pay their way through college with the poorer ones looking like it was their first job so probably harsh to entirely blame them.The staff are leaving 5 star reviews on the Facebook page and some of the 5 star reviews on here are made by users with 1 post so be wary of those. Lot's of negative reviews recently and the taxi driver on the way home had heard bad reports.Seemed a nice enough atmosphere for drinking in the bar area, otherwise would be 1 star. Wouldn't return and hard to believe this is owned by the same people as the Coach House.

My friend and myself went last Monday evening for a meal we both had the pizza platter and it was excellent, home cooked chips brilliant. We also had a couple of cheeky cocktails at 1/2 price who wouldn't! We finished with the warm chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream such large portions couldn't finish it. We were served and looked after by Ben who went that extra mile to make sure everything was okay, he is a credit to the establishment.

Myself and my girlfriend have been regulars at Harvey’s for a couple of years, sadly recently the experience has fallen some way short. There appears to have been a change of staff with the excellent bar manageress no longer present, also the young red haired barman is no longer there, both were a credit to the place and very friendly and crucially remembered regulars and greeted accordingly.We went a week ago on a midweek evening for cocktails before going for dinner, none of the half price cocktails were available as they had run out of fresh fruit and cream, I couldn’t even get a Mojito as they had run out of mint. For heavens sake Sainsbury’s is on the next block pop and get some. I then asked if I could pay full price for a Margarita and was asked by the cocktail waitress what was in it, I had to google on my phone and tell her.We went again last night ( Friday around 7 ) and upon approaching the bar could not see any cocktail menu’s, we asked for one and were told they are scattered on the tables. My girlfriend approached an empty table to get one and it was snatched out of her hand by an over enthusiastic barmaid who said the table is booked for 8pm, this being an hour later. My girlfriend explained that she just wanted a cocktail menu but she was not permitted to have it. I ordered from memory and my girlfriend asked what another person was drinking and ordered the same unable to access the cocktail menu.My girlfriend approached the upper seated area which was almost empty and it was being guarded by an over zealous young man who would not permit her to enter as all the tables were reserved. A number of things stand out, the bar staff are rude and unprofessional. The system of reserving tables an hour ahead of the booked time is ridiculous with rows of tables empty while patrons stand with their drinks.The whole demeanour of the place has changed from a friendly lounge where you could have a cocktail and some food to a wannabe restaurant that sells cheap thrown together cocktails so you can get leathered fast. For me the only selling point is that they sell cocktails ( when they have the ingredients and cocktail menu’s are available ) I’m surprised that cocktails are not more widely available in Cleethorpes actually on this note I see that recently a bar has opened next door also selling cheap cocktails. The Bobbin has a much nicer interior, more friendly and customer focused staff and for 50p more you get a much better cocktail and you can even sit and drink it. I do hope this impacts on Harvey’s as they really do need a kick up the proverbial. I don’t know why the owner is not onto this, there are numerous complaints regarding the ridiculous empty booked tables, I do hear that he has recently purchased Schooners and The Fishermans and perhaps he is scattering himself too thin and has taken his eye off the ball, whatever the reason I hope something is done to resolve the problems we’ve experienced otherwise we shall give up on the place and take our cocktails at The Bobbin.

Four of us visited Harveys 05/02/15 we had no complaints whatsoever about the food. There was plenty of it, lovley home cooked chips, the sauce with the steak was nice and plenty of it. The menu has a lot of variety and there is something to suit everyone. I can honestly say in all the times I have eaten here I have never once been disappointed. Give it a try!!

This place just misses the mark because it could be SO much better with relatively little effort.Its appeal is very limited with shiny surfaces and glossy decor and 'just a bit too loud' music when you want to hold a conversation at lunchtime, plus the ultimate sin...NO real ales available on draught! just the usual 'chilled to death' lager based concoctions.No football on either, and a generally rather sterile feel too the place although the barmaid was friendly enough. So to summarise, this place is currently missing out on beer fans, sports fans and conversation fans. Shame really cos it could be loads better very easily.

Went in for lunch with friends today and had a good experience. We all had pizza platter's and enjoyed them. Staff was efficient and had good customer service skills. Had a bad experience here previously with staff however today has resolved that issue and I shall visit again!

Attended a works Christmas party on 12th December we had the whole VIP seating area and couldn't fault the hard working, friendly staff who made sure everything ran smoothly, the food was lovely as were the cocktails. We often visit Harvey's for the wonderful half price cocktails and the occasional meal and will definitely be back! Great job guys!!

I arranged our work Christmas Party for Friday 12th December. We booked out the full VIP area for our 45 guests. Jodie did a fantastic job of helping us organise our night giving suggestions on how we can manage the drinks allocations for our staff and being on hand to answer all of our questions. She made everything seem simple and we were confident in what she had planned would work well. On the night all the staff worked really hard and it ran seemlessly. They brought food out as and when we required it putting on a selection of various hot and cold food as we requested. They were friendly and really helpful all night. We regularly come to harveys for the great food and the cocktails which are fantastic value for money so it was an obvious choice to hold our christmas party. Not many of our colleagues had been there before but everyone had a great night and I didn't hear one complaint. I will definitely back again and want to say a massive thanks to everyone who made our night so good.

absolutely terrible it was cold, the vegetables was rock hard, mash was lumpy and tasted like hash browns mashed together! they gave us a free drink but still refused to pay it was shocking and so did the table behind us! wouldnt recomend anyway to come here at all

On the evening of Sunday the 7th December 2014 I was having drinks with a group of friends, granted some of the guys of the group were being silly throwing beer mats, staff refused service which is fair enough, so the majority of the group left, I stayed in with my friend, a barman then shouts over that we are all 'barred' as we are associated with the group! Unfair considering my friend and I didn't open our mouths or throw anything! A barman then starts to act very inappropriately towards two of the group members, who granted themselves were out of line, fair enough, but I thought staff are meant to handle this in a professional manner? Not swearing from behind the bar, being aggressive back to them, being rude and vulgar? I thought this was highly unprofessional! And when my friend said look can we just leave it I'll try and get them out (she was trying to resolve this for the staff) the barman then got aggressive to her for no reason! Absolutely disgusting and I'm certain if the CCTV is reviewed the barmans actions will be portrayed on camera! He also stated he was the manager of the bar? If this is the case I think staff training and disciplinary measures need to be issued, unless of course this is classed as acceptable customer service. Again I will state I know the people I was with were out of line, I'm not saying the bar man wasn't provoked, but the awful language, attitude and aggressive attitude was uncalled for, but I'm almost certain if investigated the barman who I do know the name of will deny it, appalled.

Went into Harveys in September to book our work Christmas meal. The booking was written down on a booking form and also their main booking book so we knew we had secured our place. After collecting deposits from my colleagues, I received a phone call 2 months after booking and 4 weeks before the meal, saying that our booking was on the wrong date I had specified and another 45 person party had been booked in on the date we had booked for! I knew someones birthday was written in the booking book on the date we booked for, went into Harveys and told them this, they looked in the book and what do you know, a girls birthday was written on the same page so I knew that we hadn't gotten the date wrong! They didn't take this into consideration. I asked about our booking form and they said they don't keep them. So no record of our booking was there except for it being written in on the wrong date, not only the wrong date but a date that the Christmas meals are not even being served then!! Safe to say that they had moved our party for another one, maybe as it had more people or they know the party? How disgusting of them not to contact us! Now having to find somewhere to have our Xmas meal last minute!The manager was not there so we couldn't even discuss this with them as it was the manager who had booked us in on the wrong date, even though we didn't book with her in the first place. Whatever happened to the customer is always right, and in this case I KNOW I was right! Needless to say I was very angry and had to let all my colleagues down. We will not be going there again let alone booking anything with them again.

Harveys have let us down with no apologies from them. I am very disappointed in the customer service from this restaurant and bar. A booking for a Christmas meal was made sometime ago, there was no bookings in the diary at the time of us going in and dispite an email to clarify the date and time have been let down which appears to be for a larger booking. What makes it worse it was suggested that it was our mistake and that we had made the reservation for a totally different month. Blatent lies and obvious that they had a better offer.This has sadden me as i have been a regular to this bar in hte past, but will not be going there again.

In September we booked the office Christmas meal here. Two months later our booking has been replaced by a booking for a larger party with Harveys claiming to have no record of our booking even after seeing emails that confirm the time and date. Very poor, my colleague's and I will be avoiding this place in the future.

My visit to Harveys last night must have been in some sort of parallel universe to that of other reviewers. The food was singly handedly the most awful i have ever tasted. The only redeeming feature was that of the waiting staff who were incredibly helpful and friendly.

I live in Cleethorpes and eat out several times a week , the addition of Harveys on the high street is one of the best upgrades to the towns already diverse options for eating . Brought to you by the people who run the coach house in humberstone , Harveys offers freshly made meals , generous portions excellently presented at unbelievable prices . The staff are attentive and accommodating , the establishment is spotlessly clean , with cool decor and nice background music, table service is quick and efficient and the manager is often seen running round clearing tables and ensuring the high standards are kept. They offer daily specials which are unbeatable value . As you can tell I love Harveys , it has set a standard which others need to follow.PS. its also kid friendly and does great cocktails , what more can you ask for?

My friends and I returned to harveys last month for a reunion meal and I couldnt be more happy with the quality of the venue the food amd the bar tenders. I previously attended harveys for my sisters 21st that I booked in june and I could say the service just improves and improves. The bar manager bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. She was courteous polite and all round lovely. And lets just say the cocktail offer was very appealing we attended at 5 and didnt leave untill close down. If you want a excellent meal a relaxed atmospher this is the place to call on. Miss it and miss out

Great night at harveys, the food was absolutely gorgeous! Cooked really nice and had lots of flavour, fresh ingredients which made it even better. The cocktails are to die for! Delicious .. 100% going back

I went in during the day time, the food is great quality at a great price. The most competitive in the area. However the blonde waitress was slow to acknowledge us, even slower to take our order and second drinks we're ages in coming, and it wasn't busy. Feeling a little bit let down as the service I received on a evening was excellent, the difference between day time service and evening service is astronomical. Would definately recommend for a evening meal however avoid during the day at all costs!

Had booked Harveys for my friends Hen Night I hadn't been before so did not know what to expect. From the minute I walked through the door I was greeted by the amazing Melissa who helped me put up banners and balloons. She was really bubbly and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We took advantage of the half price cocktails which were all fantastic and we ordered an array of food to have at the table which was very good value for money. Throughout the evening both Melissa and Pamela were very attentive and made sure that all of our party had everything they needed. Service was quick and efficient. I would definitely visit Harveys again particularly if it was for a special occasion because they ensured we had a really good night.

Just had yet another lovely meal at Harveys! Steak, burgers and pizzas were delicious AND such good value for money!! Our waitress was fabulous! They were very busy as usual but she kept us informed of any delays which was appreciated! The staff here work so hard and I fail to recognise the negative comments? Me and my husband eat and drink here regularly and are always made to feel so welcome. All the bar/waiting team are so nice! The only bug bear would be that they need more waiting staff. Must be worth paying an extra member to cut out the waiting times for food? The food and cocktails are fab but I can see why people would get cheesed off with waiting for food. But this was not the fault of the waiting staff tonight. Thanks Harveys team :) xx

A group of friends and i visited Harveys for Tea and half price cocktails saturday i can honestly say the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, we was seated and table service for the evening there was a little wait on the cocktails but we didnt mind as they were great and well presented.Great value for money and such a relaxing atmosphere we will definatly be visiting again.:)

The last time we visited this bar I reserved myself from writing a review despite a poor experience where the member of staff treated us appallingly when we had the audacity to question the filthy glassware being offered. I figured anyone could have a bad day and so returned last night not least because my partner loves the place (largely as she has never had the displeasure of interaction with the poorly trained staff- yes they can pour drinks but sadly any element of promoting a positive customer experience is an alien concept. Proved once again last night). Having had a wonderful meal at the Riverside restaurant with cracking service (rewarded with a large tip - because that's how it works), we, with another couple headed for cocktails at Harvey's even in the knowledge that they would be full price at 4.95. The half price cocktail promo did exactly what it should, made us return. Half way through the creation of the cocktails (chosen largely by the surly staff member who, with remarkable honesty, told us what she could and could not be bothered to make, due to nearing of closing) last orders were called. It was at this point another young and inexperienced smile dodger, later claiming to be just 'having a laugh' told us we would have the challenge of drinking up in 5 minutes. Questioning that we hadn't even got the beverages yet and wasn't drinking up 20 minutes we were told this length of time is 'discretionary'. Of course, but clearly it is THIS establishments discretion to have people downing cocktails - a flagrant disregard for licensing where no other actual legal restriction was in place. Unbeknown to the ill-trained now lined up at this point behind the bar, I am a Personal Licence holder for alcohol retailing and so am conversant with both Licensing Law and the nonsense staff peddle to customers that they want to get rid of at the end of a long night of service. It was at this point during a tense exchange relating to how long we would actually have to drink the cocktails, nothing positive was forthcoming. I was annoyed that this was SO easily resolvable, staff were annoyed upon being reminded that I had yet to pay. The higher ground was claimed by the establishment touching on Retail Law and Verbal Contract with the reminder that I had in fact ordered the drinks and was required to pay. ( Now these are cheaper at the supermarket - to charge what they were for them they were providing the 'added value' of service and the premises in which to drink them. The latter part was not being offered- well not for more than 5 minutes anyway and this window was closing fast!). Sensing they were not on a winner, the drinks were mustered off the bar in an act of defiance which only resulted in us having to go and buy drinks elsewhere. A variety of other places were still hospitable, one of which we stayed at for some considerable time, having 3 rounds of drinks for the same price. Needless to say it did not spoil our night. Checking other reviews on this site suggests that this place has more bad days than good and it is largely the service element that is an issue. They will, of course, defend their position. We will of course vote with our feet - and cash- for all eternity!

Visited here twice recently, once with a large group of work colleagues, and once with my husband. Both times the service has been great, food tasty, home made and excellent value. The cocktails, especially when 2 for 1, are a must have, my favourite being the liquorice allsort. Can't wait to return!!

I was thrilled when Harvey's opened as a cocktail bar. A venue like this is much needed in Cleethorpes. When it first opened it was buzzing. Cocktails are half price during early evening (and afternoons on Sunday) and they are seriously good. The only problem is that only one or two of the staff actually know how to make them so the wait at the bar can be epic at busy times. I feel sorry for the staff who can make cocktails! Recently the food has got a lot worse and appears reheated and often cold in the middle. It is such a shame as this one buzzing bar has gone a bit flat.

Great food, great service, and will be returning! Had the steak special with a bottle of wine. All said...excellent!

I went here lastnight with a friend for the half price cocktails which was £2.50 instead of £5 per cocktail! Atmosphere was good and food looked good but the service particularly from one female member of staff with short blonde hair was discusting, she deserves sacking or a good slap around the face! She had attitude and never smiled or said please or thank you once! Will not be returning!

Called half price cocktails ten minutes before time ! Couldn't cope with demand and staff were very stressed ! Why are only two people making cocktails on a Friday night when very busy? Could be really good but let down by bad organisation and customer service !

Never again will be going there. So disappointed with the service. I enquired how much they would charge me for a virgin piña colada and the two staff decided that it would be the same price as the piña colada. The reason, same ingredients except that it would have no alcohol in it and not to mention there is shaking involved! I informed them that last time I was there they charged me £1.50 and they said that should not have happened. So, I'm guessing for every mocktail they make would be the same price as the cocktails because after all it's not got alcohol, it's a matter of using the same ingredients minus alcohol but still have the shaking involved!!! I was disgusted with their attitude and the way one of the girl treated my friend. My friend enquired if they have coke or Pepsi decided to have shandy instead. The look on her face was to say make up your mind. Bear in mind my friend changed her mind in a second. It was not as though she was stood there undecided about the drinks. We were glad we went up to the bar first and not sat down to order the food. My friends had their drink and we went to another place for food.

This is not a review I wished to write but unfortunately one which is fitting considering the number of problems we have experienced over the last 3 months. We initially thought Harvey's was excellent but sadly that has passed.Our last visit we booked a table to find we were the only people in there ( was that a sign). I asked a Server if the Facebook offer of Fish and Chips was available as it was not on the menu. She said no but consulted another 2 servers. They said it was available. I returned to my two diners and informed them it was available. The SAME server came over after some difficulty catching her eye. (it was an empty bar !). I asked for 3 Fish & Chips. After 20 mins She returned with 3 portions of Chips and left the table. I thought the fish would arrive separately but after a couple of mins I asked where the Fish was. I was informed by the same server that I had not ordered Fish. She proceeded to insistently tell me I was wrong. I checked with my 2 diners and they agreed I had clearly ordered Fish ( don't forget it was her I asked if it was available). I rejected the Chips and paid for our coffee and left to get a F & C takeaway nearby. I had been called a liar more than once!Previous issues such as ordering a Prawn & Avocado salad which arrived with no Avocado. On pointing this out the Chef had put the meal together and not bothered to let anyone know hoping the customer would not notice. Prior to that a Rustic bread role was not sent with the meal. We asked for one which arrived frozen in the centre. This was sent back and returned scalding hot in the middle having been microwaved. Prior to this we had overcooked Calamari with the consistency of rubber. On top of these issues service has been at best slow and worst unacceptably slow. Thank goodness a new Wetherspoons has opened down the road so we can get some consistency. Harvey's sells itself on quality produce and good sized portions at a fair price which I did agree with until the last 3 months of constant errors. There are other minor errors which I have not mentioned. Throughout all of these issues no reduction in the bill or free coffee etc was given, Good customer service lacking. Once we were offered a free coffee but the server at the till charged us for it and we had to disagree and complain again.I don't at his stage know if we will return as the last 5 visits have not been pleasant and only memorable for the wrong reasons. I hope management read these comments and react to them. I have probably given this one more star than it deserves because I remember good things about the place.

My partner and I went to this place yesterday and we had the most greasy, tasteless food ever. The chicken smelt really awful and I wouldn't let my pregnant partner eat it. I had gammon and chips which were both revolting. When you squeezed the chips they oozed fat!When I tried to get the attention of staff to complain I was ignored as they were too busy talking amongst themselves and slagging off the new weatherspoons that had just opened!Please never eat in this place!

I had a burger from here and it was absoluley brilliant. Well cooked and nicely presented. Only annoying part was one of the bar staff talking to other staff members as if there a bit fell off there shoe which i thort was quite annoying but i will still go back for more meals.

when to Harvey's for a bit of lunch poor ordered 2 panninis chicken dry burnt after we had waited half hour to be served this was the first time we had food at Harvey's will not be going back sent the food back got my money back looking at the reviews some people don't have my standard or the chef is a jeckill hyde also I person serving behind the bar 10 mnts wait

Went to the bar to order food to be told someone will come out to take our order 10 minutes later the bar man came out to take our order we ordered 2 meatballs.. 30 minutes later food arrived it was 2 meat boards!! The bar man argued with me to say thats what i ordered! He took the meals away.. we didn't get told anything that was happening.. 30 minutes later again! The meatballs arrived.. a bit of spaghetti and a few meatballs in a bowl cold may i add! After waiting for an hour i was not impressed by what we received! Then an hour after we had eaten another member of staff arrived with our bill i told her what had been the problem as no one else had been over she slammed the bill on the table and said 'what do you want me to do?'.. in the end she took one meal off the bill!not impressed at all! Working in the industry myself i know what customer service skills are needed to please unsatisfied customers.. the staff in this place haven't a clue!

Went to Harvey's for tea between 3pm and 4pm I have to say i was very surprised at the standard of food,we chose from the burger menu,when it arrived I was very surprised to see a high quality of food every thing fresh burger succulent not the normal run of the mill burger,we'll presented very good value for money,staff very helpful ,manageress very polite we'll organised and friendly,a credit to Harvey's,will be returning again with the family in the near future.

My husband and I went to Harvey's on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy but yet we asked 3-4 times at the bar if we could order food. We we're told they were very busy but someone would come over. 2 hours later I asked a passing waitress if I could order and she didn't even know we had been waiting!! The food is lovely and great value but the service lets this place down.They can't cope with a few tables so definitely wouldn't go when busy.

Where to start with Harveys, I regularly go for a drink with friends on a Friday or Saturday evening.Cocktails are half price before 9pm but beware it will take anything up to 20 minutes to get your drink even if your order is taken straight away. Also the cocktails are nothing like real cocktails you'd find in a city cocktail bar, they are cheap and boozy but lack any class.The reserved tables are a joke, you will go into the bar to find several tables reserved for people coming to eat. When they arrive you will often find a table that could seat 8 or 10 being taken by 2 diners. The food is OK, nothing special but cheap enough but you can find yourself waiting a good hour for food on busy evenings. The staff are great, the manageress particularly so and they do their best with poor organisation.The good - nice place, great staff, cheap enough.The bad - reserved tables for diners on busy evenings ruining it for everyone else, they really should either find room upstairs for diners or give up on food at busy times. Riverside does the food thing so much better but I guess they have more space with the upstairs dining area.Suggestion - take cocktail orders and make the cocktails up in the kitchen, the bar is far too crowded, might be an idea to advise people of the wait for cocktails too as a lot of people are getting seriously pee'd off with the wait. Maybe have half the bar for normal drink orders and the other half for cocktails as this causes confusion with people wanting a beer and seeing so many in front of them waiting for cocktails.basically decide what you want the bar to be a food outlet or a bar, it is falling over itself trying to be both.

I've eaten here 3 times now and lost count of the recommendations I've made. There really isn't anything in Cleethorpes to rival this place for its value right now. I am surprised the owners are the same as the Coach House because I don't like that place at all.The menu is quite day timey, but they do only serve up to 8pm so I guess that fits. You can expect pizzas, burgers, Panini's, share platters, pasta and more so something for every palette. Very generous portions so go hungry. The prices are so reasonable, most dishes are under £10. They also have half priced cocktails up to 9pm and they are delicious.Service is always excellent too, the girls are lovely.Will be back again at the end of the month. Keep up the good work!

We were looking for somewhere to go on an early Friday evening without children and this ticked the boxes. We had food which was excellent, calamari followed by a baked Camembert sharing platter. We had a couple of cocktails which were just 'ok' and no more than a drink in a glass rather than a bit kore of a show as a cocktail should be.Great wine selection and lots of wines by the glass if you don't want a full bottle.A good mix of people of all ages

Called in on the off chance of getting something to eat, went in at 530 was told most of the tables where reserved and if we sat on some of them we would have to move within a set time. Decided to sit at a low table that wasn't reserved, purchased 4 drinks and had them put on a tab by this time it was nearly 6pm so the second round was cocktail time good for us as not to many people in the bar, asked who was cooking in the kitchen as we happen to no a couple of the chefs. Was told it was a 5* chef on tonight who was new and commented hope he's as good as the chef they origanaly opened up with, ordered a starter nachos with sour cream and chilli, chilli only Luke warm but put up with that, second course platter which was really huge and tasty, meat pizza again big and tasty, steak sandwich medium rare was more medium than rare with quite a lot of fat on it but plenty of it. And another main which was also ok. Came to ask if all was ok mentioned the steak and said they would feed the comment back, couldn't ask for more or that's what we thought, they took away the plates apart from the platter of which was still been eaten, partners got up to order more drinks and while they where at the bar the waitress came to ask if we want to pay the bill, we said no as we where still eating and where ordering more drinks she said cos we had ordered and eaten we couldn't have any more drinks on the tab and had to pay. She went of to get the supervisor who said we could have those drinks that they where ordering but would have to pay the bill, with that she picked up the unfinished platter and walked away, they also told our partners at the bar that there was no more cocktails been served after 8 pm where it states clearly outside they are served till 9. We payed the bill £80 finished our drinks and left. Never felt so unwelcome doubt if we will return.

Been quite a few times and have enjoyed the food ,called in yesterday to have some thing to eat ,most tables at the top empty but reserved the waitress said we could sit there but had to move 15 mins before the reserved for people were due.How do you know how long it is going to take to get served ,eat it and then have to move if you have'nt finished.We decided not to bother.I cannot understand all this reserving in a pub, it is not a proper restaurant Coachhouse is the same.If you are eating or drinking the table should be yours for has long has you want.

went to harveys with some friends on sat afternoon first visit pleasant staff and drink prices reasonable but my god a disaster waiting to happen there is a raised step with no warning and I went flying damaging my arm elbow and hip an older person could have easily broken limbs the staff were attentive but said they have spoken to the management about this step which is high and a few patrons keep stumbling or tripping over but the bosses say it meets regulations .I have raised the issues with the relevant authorites and hope other customers have the same expierence as me

I really wanted to eat her people for my birthday, take advantage of the 6-8 half price cocktails, was told I could book a table 5-7 but then had to leave.Decided to just come in and have cocktails.Sat at table ( had been told too busy, that's why could only have table 5-7)Bar abs restaurant empty! Later we were told if we ordered food we were welcome to the table until 10pm ( thought you were full) was told that 2 party's if 8 had cancelled.Said we could keep the table until someone wanted it to order food ( we were at a priority table) what a joke! We spent more on cocktails than most on food, this system makes no sense.Yet the table next to us we're told not that busy your more than welcome to keep the table until 10pm!!!! We had the table from 6-740pm so much for being fully booked! We were offered drinks by table service, we were served one round of drinks, when the arrived the waitress said sorry it's getting a bit busy , can't do table service, we didn't ask for it it was offered, again makes no sense!!As it was my birthday we took a few photos which the staff thought was hilarious to photo bomb us!!Yet no time for table service!!! But time to photo bomb!!! Very appalling service indeed.Stood at a table, rude glass collector walked up, interrupted these glasses dine with, I said ill just check, she said we've run out of cocktail glasses.I said that's a bit rubbish, just being jovial to which she nastily replied " we'll not really, must be 300 glasses out on the floor, not all being used" then walked off!!Seriously sort your start out their attitudes are appalling, they are lazy. The cocktail glasses are half pint glasses not even cocktail glasses as advertised in the menu.All in all very disappointed, and disgusted with the staff, the crazy booking system, and the cocktails in non costa glasses.If you sorted these few things out, you will have nailed it, bug please start with the staff!!!

I visited Harvey's on a Thursday evening with a group of ten friends. The bar was busy and there was a great atmosphere in the place from the minute we entered. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we were served immediately. As soon as we were ready to order food, the waitress was there ready to take our order. She offered great service and was very accommodating when it came to dietary requirements and preferences! Our food took just enough time to be prepared and when it arrived, it was worth the wait! The portion sizes were huge, though this did not effect the quality! Every person around the table had ordered different things and each agreed the food was absolutely delilicious! Having time to breathe and a few relaxing drinks, we ordered pudding, which again was absolutely to die for! Not only does Harvey's offer great service and food, it offers such great value with the meals being very cheap! I have been very impressed with my experience at Harvey's and would highly recommend this restaurant!

Beautiful food, waiting too long to order food.Then you have got to find somebody when you want to pay your bill.

Called in at lunch time and it was not that busy, had a to ask for waitress twice, to take our order. Then had to wait quite some time for the food to come, but had to ask again for a side order which had been forgotten. The food was very tasty and a good size portion,but the service was very poor which let them down.

We have been a few times the food is always ok and very cheap for what you get. The service on the other hand is so bad my husband refuses to go ever again and I'm not far behind. Not much hope for hygiene when the waitress sets us up by holding the cutlery not by the handle but by the part you put in your mouth. Then when my bread comes not warmed and with no butter (so very dry) I ask for it to be warmed and if they have any butter 5 mins later another waitress brought it back with butter but not warmed at all so I ask again saying my bread is cold it hasn't even been warmed the waitress then put her hand onto the bread!!!! Took it and heard her say warm this so when it came back it wasn't very warm and I had finished my food and it was the same bit of bread she had her hand on!!! The basic hygiene of this should be common sense I don't get why reading other reviews this issue has not been sorted out by now!

Booked a table for 5 people had to go out my way to come in and pay a deposit of £5 per person . The table was booked for 630... Our order wasn't taken untill 750 and only then was it taken because we had to get up and go to the bar to request somebody!! It then took an age to come out. When it did arrive it was very delicious and a very reasonable price but the service just put us off

We have been to Harvey's many times at lunch and our experience has in general been quite positive. Food tends to be of good quality but service is not consistently good. We visited at lunch time this week and there were two tables waiting for food when we arrived. 35 minutes after we ordered I checked when our food would arrive and we were informed it would be with us in 10 minutes. 25 minutes later is still had not arrived. We had to delay an appointment so we could eat (rush) our meal due to the delays You obviously cannot visit here in your lunch hour. The server was apologetic but had not informed us of the delay (although she tried to tell us she had!). Others left while waiting for food and we were told a Chef had resigned. We even were expected to pay full price. It was a touch chaotic. I don't think people will put up with this type of service when Weatherspoon's opens just down the road quite soon.

We dined at Harvey's on a Saturday night, food was brill. Camembert to start and French burger for main. Gorgeous and great value for money! However we dined while the half price cocktails were on offer so getting a drink from the bar was just horrendous we were waiting 25 minutes to be served and I knew we were there before others but they clearly knew the bar staff so we're being served first. Not enough staff to manage all these cocktails
