Worth the drive from Cheltenham I really liked the food. 😋 I wish they started to do Roti alongside Pooris as it gets quite heavy to finish off. So I felt quite guilty of wasting a bit of food. Being from New Delhi, I really liked the Dal Makhni, dunno what ingredient was that, that is quite rare to saviour, if could share🤔

An Indian food junction run by locals. Amazing to know that chefs here are not Asian but British. It all started as Dosa center on a van but now it's a proper restaurant with seating indoors and outside. Many new interesting dishes are on the menu now and most taste authentic. Good food can make you wait long especially on weekends so keep patience.

About service, here is self service even if you’re dine-in. Atmosphere is not much enjoyable due to loud music and seating table also not cleaning. About food, so test was good but everything is too oily. We ordered a dry manchurian but it’s served with a gravy. Second dish was dosa and it’s also not placing properly all staffing was on the chatney and can’t enjoy dosa properly.

Had THE best Indian food we have had in the UK this evening. So authentic, it completely transported us back to our trip to India. Incredible tasting, fresh food and the staff were excellent. Helpful and attentive and the ordering process is streamlined with interactive menu machines to order on. Could not recommend this place enough! We stopped here to have lunch. The menu was extensive and we were able to choose from many different vegetarian options. The fact that the whole restaurant served only vegetarian food was great as it meant we tried things we may not have if meat was on the menu. The food was delicious and had so much flavour so we picked a few different plates to share. The portions were big and we left feeling really full. I would highly recommend and would come back here again for lunch

Can’t exactly remember how many food we had yesterday. It was quite a lot for two people but thanks for the friendly price, we really enjoyed it! ⭐️Highlights: They are not only have so many options for food but also for drinks and sweets, from Masala chai, Filter coffee(highly recommended!!!), mango lassi to Gulab jamun, Ladoo and ice creams!! All dishes we got for 2 people (as long as I can remember) 🫓Chole Bathura £7.99 - never go wrong with it! 🥔Vada Pav £2.00/piece - first time try “Indian burger” unique taste with a deep-fried potato vada served inside a soft bun😋 🧀Paneer 65 £8.60 - nice and juicy and more delicious with the green chilli source 🥠Kids dosa £6.50 - thin, savoury and crispy! ☕️Filter Coffee £ 2.50 - surprised all of us, the rich flavor made me miss it already🤌🏻 🍨Sweets (Gulab jamun, Milk cake, Motichoor Ladoo, Parisha)

We thought to give this place a try as we heard positive feedback about the food. I ordered chilli paneer, chole, Gobi Manchurian, Puri, another paneer dish. We got the food on time which was around 25min. Portion size is adequate and well packed but food wasn't great. Chilli Paneer and chole was dark , greasy and covered in spices. I know these dishes needs good amount of spices but it was over spiced where you can't really enjoy the real ingredients. It also tasted like same gravy and spices were used in two different dishes bcoz taste was similar. This place might be good for dosa and street food but definitely didn't enjoyed what I ordered.

The order was delivered to work a few days ago a veg biryani and a mango lassi and it took absolutely ages when it was so close. I know Timmy & Maya since the days of willow brook centre and it was really good. Since someone else has started cooking and managing the place the food has gone down hill and its just about how spicy it can be. There may be a set audience but you have lost a lot more. I was reluctant to add this here but I have and will not be returning. I hope you start cooking again Timmy with your original spices and some of us may return.

If you're craving crispy South Indian comfort food in Bristol, Pappu Dosa is worth a try, especially for their dosas. Their Mysore Masala likely won't disappoint with its classic potato filling and flavorful spice blend. However, some aspects of the meal fell short. The Paneer dosa offered a vegetarian twist, but the filling consisted mainly of shavings of paneer, rather than the larger cubes or crumbled paneer I was expecting. This made the paneer less substantial than what I'd hoped for. More concerning were the vadas. While they had a crisp exterior, the interior was disappointingly mushy, lacking the even texture one expects from a well-cooked vada. On a brighter note, their coconut chutney was excellent! It was likely fresh-made and bursting with flavor, perfectly complementing the dosas. The true saving grace was their filter coffee. It was strong, aromatic, and authentic, providing the perfect end to the meal. With some improvement on the vada consistency, a more generous paneer filling, and keeping up the high quality of their coconut chutney, Pappu Dosa has the potential to be a top contender for dosa in Bristol.

Fancy it isn't. Good it is. Excellent simple everyday South Indian food (Kerala, Tamil Nadu), which is not easy to find in the UK. If you want lots of chilli and lots of fat, this isn't the place for you. But if you want other flavours and textures, you may well like the food. Clearly this place relies on word-of-mouth, since there is no way you will stumble upon it by accident. Pappu Dosa used to be one of our favourites, it was favourite to an extent that we stopped travelling to London for our favourite food. Their food don't taste authentic Indian anymore. There is no consistency in the taste, texture or quantity. It’s full of oil and food smells stale. Idlis served were rock hard, sambar was terrible (tastes just plain Dal), the list about bad things will go on. Pappu Dosa when lead by Timmy and Maya was in a different league but now under the new management it has lost its taste and atmosphere. Will never visit again !
