This place has a good indian vibe. They have a good verity of menu. Loved the masala dosa specials. Filter coffe sips took me back to india for a while. I recommend to have the dosa right away as it gets cold soo fast.

The delivery driver repeatedly showed up at the dosa shop, only to leave again to search for a new driver. This caused significant delays and left me waiting much longer than expected. As a result, I was late for my commitments, which is extremely frustrating. On top of that, I paid a delivery charge, but the service was far from satisfactory. If the delivery process isn’t efficient, then what’s the point of paying for delivery? The lack of coordination and communication is very disappointing. I hope Paapu Dosa can address this issue and improve the delivery process for their customers.

It's really amazing authentic food. We love as family & visit there more than 4 or 5 times in a month. So good

The taste of Dosa was authentic and loved their ghee idli. One downside was the range of drinks which was limited. Otherwise definitely recommend!

The plain dosa were nice however the service was pretty shoddy to be honest. Not welcoming and felt like they didn't want any business. The place can do with a revamp.

Their quality and quantity of food is rapidly declining I believe they have sold the business to someone! Very unfortunate and disappointing…

Nice food.. south Indian restaurant with bench and table sitting... The good part is all orders are prepared on spot and hence, service is delayed but I would consider this fresh preparation as good point.. The masala tea is good but overpriced for the quantity.. The good part is the order is completely self service and only 3 people preparing and calling out orders... The restaurant is quite popular for dinner i believe as when we entered it was hardly had people but by the time we left, it was 70% full.. The dosa is really good, chola bhatura is okish..chilli paneer is good quantity wise .. taste wise good as well..

We have wanted to eat here for a long time but the original location was a bit far - we live in Bath - so pleased to finally try to the Easton location. Clean, friendly establishment. Awesome dosa and lived up to expectation. I do wish I had asked for vegan options, but as it was all veg (I had the plain dosa which usually is vegan it didn't say it on menu) but wait staff was very helpful and patient with other customer questions. Would make the journey again for sure! Would recommend as authentic friendly and delicious- also very good value. Thanks for a nice lunch out!

Great food mainly a takeaway but seating is there and self service.

We visited Pappu Dosa in Easton for breakfast today, what a fantastic experience, the food was delicious and great value, they keep refilling your plates on the breakfast Thali, this is probably the best vegetarian Indian food that we have eaten, we will be back when next in Bristol.

Taste wise Food is very good….. 3 Star because of the Service they provide.

My comfort place! They serve really good south Indian food. Only complaint i have is its freezing cold in there, wish they install couple of more heaters or improve the insulation.

I think the phrase hidden gem is banded about too much, for places that aren't gems and aren't hidden. Pappu dosa is a hidden gem. Amazing food and service here. Best masala dosa I have had outside of Asia.

Staff was not helpful, customer service was atrocious. Found a rubber band inside a samosa that my 7 years old son was mid eating. Lost appetite and staff weren’t even that sorry. Hygiene was bad and atmosphere was horrid and no heating either while it’s freezing December. I am certainly never coming here again!!

Such a tasty food had some thali included. poori, dosa, idli and Medu Vada and something more with multiple chutni option also had filer coffee everything was above and beyond expectation just loved it! Very simple and beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and the fact that the restaurant is pure vegetarian makes it even better! Very good balance of flavours and spice. The location is a bit daunting as you approach mainly because is in a residential area so we thought originally that we were in the wrong location. Definitely worth a visit if you are up for an authentic Indian food.

One of the best Indian cuisines. Friendly staff. You can order the food using your smartphone; however, the payment is after the dine in. All the food had arrived within 15 min. Food is delicious,plenty of dining space and a well maintained toilet.

100% best Indian fast food in the town. Very quick service, wonderful staff. Prash and his colleagues are very friendly. Definitely recommend. Parking could be a problem, but worth the visit. Best chole and vada pav. Coffee is too good. Delicious dosas.

Most delicious South Indian food with phenomenal service. Such friendly atmosphere, the staff and other customers were all so warm and happy. They gave great recommendations of what to order. Definitely pay pappu a visit!!

Nice and simple vegetarian foods to grab in Patchway and nearby. Affordable and great meals plan offered on certain days. Ample parking just Infront of the shop. Small-medium number of table and chairs inside and ok for small families and friends.

After saw an advert on instagram thought let’s visit this place.Was overwhelming happy after i left.Order taker Richa was polite & friendly with us i came with my family from Gloucestershire. Ali chef makes the best dosa in whole southwest big salute to him.Texture of dosa was so crispy & fresh.Very good portion of potato fillings inside with several chutney’s.A humble request do open in Gloucestershire also pls.We miss pure vegeterian dishes here.Already recommended your place to friend’s and family already ❤️

Tasty street style Dosa. Great to pop in - eat and go. Pav Bhaji (Brioche bun, toasted served with a sauce) was excellent too as was the Mango Lassi

We arrived around 21:00 and the place was lively and busy, yet the food came super quickly. Staff were super friendly and gave us some recommendations for vegan options off the menu. I'd especially recommend the paper dosa (the indo-chinese dish was also lovely but very very salty)

Great little restaurant with amazing authentic indian food. Food quality was great (very fresh). Simply the best tasting masala dosa ive eaten since moving from Birmingham. Ive paid more around the south west to eat South indian food no where near this quality. (So glad i found this little gem! 🙂)

Nice authentic south Indian restaurant. Decent price and good taste. Being Indian it's difficult to find authentic taste in UK but this is surely my go to option.

Best tasting Indian fast food in Bristol

Felt like I was back in my college canteen in India. It's a communal dining setup so it's not your typical cafe. The food though is KWAAAZZZZYYYY. Very few spots make perfectly crispy dosa and Pappu Dosa happens to be the big daddy of making crunchy, crispy, mouthwatering dosas and the best part that south-indians will love - wait for it - 3 TYPES OF CHUTNEYS!!!!! 3 TYPES - RED, WHITE AND GREEN CHUTNEY ..... AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH ..... Get the dosas and pav bhaji, hands down the best things on the menu. Absolutely loved Pappu Dosa and definitely gonna visit again and again and again and .... you know how the food spiral works. Shabby likes this, give this small business some big time love cause SHABBY SAID SO!!!

A nice selection of Vegetarian South Indian dishes. The Thali is also quite good and quite filling. Recently they have a good collection of Indian sweets.

Absolutely fantastic experience with this takeaway! The food was fresh, flavorful, and arrived hot. The portions were generous, and everything tasted delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my order was ready on time. I’ll definitely be ordering again—highly recommend! While the food and service were decent, the atmosphere was disappointing. The music was way too loud, making it hard to have a conversation with the people I was with. It felt more like being at a club than a restaurant, and we couldn’t enjoy our meal properly because we had to shout over the noise. It would be much better if they lowered the volume so people could actually talk and enjoy their time together.

Visited this place twice, it had limited list in its menu, yet its satisfying. Dosas are crispy, Idlis are hot, puri bhaji/ kurma are some of the item's to be craving for. Veg thali are full of flavours and tops the list in my view. Parking is free just front of the restaurant. Note one needs to order the food through touch screen display installed there and food can be collected at the counter.

Ordered Papdi chaat and it tasted bad and smelled bad, so I returned but they it can’t smell bad and they have sold 10 portions , wat kind of response is that -I lost 5.50£. Very bad service

Food was really great. The staff were doing a good job however since the staff were few and they were so busy doing the orders and some of the items ordered were delayed.

So so good. The trouble I've had at Pappu Dosa is having the will power to try something new as the dishes I've had their before are so tasty that I always want to get them again. This time we branched out and tried the Indochinese menu and it definitely didn't disappoint! We had Gobi Manchurian with veg fried rice and Paneer 65. The paneer was crispy with a bit of spice and a very tasty green sauce to accompany it. Everything is very good value, the lady who works there is always happy to help, whether it's helping you choose what to have, explaining things on the menu or dishing up delicious desserts. I've never had anything I didn't love from here and friends have been equally impressed.

So so delicious and reasonably priced. Really looking forward to them opening a branch closer to me!

This little cafe/ restaurant is wonderful .If you want to have food like they have it in India then this is the place to go. I ate far too much as I wanted to try lots of dishes. Everyone is identical to having them in India. My best find of the year. This is now my go-to place every time I drive up or down the M5 for my rest break as it's just a few minutes off the M5. Such a pity I live so far away.

On my most recent visit to Pappu I was thoroughly impressed by the improvement and ongoing want to do better from Tim and his Tim, I already loved Pappu already, but this time... it was even better. The sambar, imli, coriander and white chutneys all had a massive flavour boost and paired so well with most of the dishes I tried. My non negotiable pappu order always consists of the vada pav, Samosa (this time we had the set) and masala dosa. I also got to try the chole for the first ever time which had tender chickpeas in a beautiful masala and the fluffy bathura (bread). I think I'll be adding this to my non negotatibales. The pav bhaji was rich and defo one out there for the ghee / butter lovers and I loved trying the new sweets on the counter. For dessert we had the Galum Jamun and Rasmali. I knew I loved Galum Jamun and the Rasmali was a new one for me! And my boyfriend particularly enjoyed those as he has a big sweet tooth. I'm still yet to eat through the entire menu, next time I want the bhel puri. Last year... We got the Vadu Pav, Samosa Chaat, Masala Dosa and Thali. Everything we got was super refined and delicious. I'm super impressed. Pappu Dosa also is super popular with locals and people who work round the area. I'll be back soon to try more of their dishes. I have my eye on their idli, Chili paneer dishes, manchurian and mango lassi.

We had our lunch on the way back from Bristol airport. The South Indian food we had (idly/dosa with chutney and sambhar) was authentic and better than any Saravana bhavans I have tried. Highly recommended!

Amazing authentic Indian Thali, one of the few places you will find this in Bristol. I also loved the Chai and Indian sweets too. Everything’s freshly handmade in-house!

Highly recommend this gem - well worth the short drive from central Bristol (thankful for the easy free parking too). I love all the little details which allowed us to momentarily transport to India… from the stainless steel crockery, the Bollywood music playing in the background and the long sharing tables to the warm and welcoming smiles and service we received. The prices were also incredibly pocket friendly - a Vada Pav for £2?! An actual steal. While every dish was delicious, we especially enjoyed the vada pav, paper masala dosa and chole bathura with spiced chickpeas - everything had a nice kick to it. All washed down with a masala chai & filter coffee - bringing the meal to a very satisfying end. Look forward to returning and trying their Indo Chinese menu in the evening (and obviously picking up more mithai (Indian sweets) for my sweet tooth!)

An Indian food junction run by locals. Amazing to know that chefs here are not Asian but British. It all started as Dosa center on a van but now it's a proper restaurant with seating indoors and outside. Many new interesting dishes are on the menu now and most taste authentic. Good food can make you wait long especially on weekends so keep patience.

Worth the drive from Cheltenham I really liked the food. 😋 I wish they started to do Roti alongside Pooris as it gets quite heavy to finish off. So I felt quite guilty of wasting a bit of food. Being from New Delhi, I really liked the Dal Makhni, dunno what ingredient was that, that is quite rare to saviour, if could share🤔

Had THE best Indian food we have had in the UK this evening. So authentic, it completely transported us back to our trip to India. Incredible tasting, fresh food and the staff were excellent. Helpful and attentive and the ordering process is streamlined with interactive menu machines to order on. Could not recommend this place enough! Will be telling all our friends, family and colleagues in the area for sure!

About service, here is self service even if you’re dine-in. Atmosphere is not much enjoyable due to loud music and seating table also not cleaning. About food, so test was good but everything is too oily. We ordered a dry manchurian but it’s served with a gravy. Second dish was dosa and it’s also not placing properly all staffing was on the chatney and can’t enjoy dosa properly.

We stopped here to have lunch. The menu was extensive and we were able to choose from many different vegetarian options. The fact that the whole restaurant served only vegetarian food was great as it meant we tried things we may not have if meat was on the menu. The food was delicious and had so much flavour so we picked a few different plates to share. The portions were big and we left feeling really full. I would highly recommend and would come back here again for lunch

MUST VISIT! The best Indian restaurant I have had in entire European continent. The flavors are very authentic. The North Indian thali is the highlight including Pav Bhaji. I visited them atleast twice every month.

The food is always great, good portion sizes, delicious and good value. Always busy but we've never not been able to find space for the two of us on one of the benches.

Pappu Dosa -BRISTOL What a lovely name. Experience the best homemade Tamil Nadu sambar in Bristol. The authentic taste of their idly-sambar-vadai combination is unmatched. They maintain such high quality that it feels like it's been cooked in your own kitchen. I love their food.They don't need any advertisement. The people who eat there will naturally spread the word, just like we did.

I recently visited Pappu Dosa. Food is Good, a restaurant that has been garnering attention for its exquisite Indian cuisine, and I must say, the experience lived up to the hype. The two standout dishes that I had the pleasure of trying were the Masala Dosa and the Chole Bhature.

Why does anyone have to wait till 5pm for the fried rice?! Foods amazing just make fried rice available in the day time.

The best place to visit if you're craving delicious and authentic Indian food in Bristol. Having been a regular customer, I can definitely vouch for this place. The best part is that, the owner and head chef is Timmy, British, who had learnt to cook south indian food in an authentic way. Such is his dedication. All the staff members are amazing!
