Having visited as a couple for tea and cake & as a group of 7 for afternoon tea, I would strongly recommend it. I’ve had many afternoon teas and the balance of what was provided was perfect and one of the best I’ve had. It was great quality and the ladies that work there are lovely. We all felt so welcome and everyone enjoyed the experience. A real gem .

Me and My wife hosted our first Baby Shower here recently. We were very happy with the venue and were allowed to arrive early to set up decorations and personalise the cafe for the Shower. We had the Afternoon Tea buffet and the food was amazing with plenty of food for all our guests! The staff were brilliant also and very friendly, we went over our booking time and the staff were absolutely fine about it! The icing on the cake was the additional cakes and sandwiches packed for us to take away! We will be going back very soon! Fantastic!!

Have now made two attempts to have cocktails here on two consecutive Saturdays during advertised opening hours - only to find them closed ! Facebook posts saying sorry for the inconvenience but we will not be open this evening does not really help when you want to support local businesses. I understand emergencies happen but looking through the FB page , this will be at least the third time in 4 weeks. Will not attempt again - I don’t have to phone other places to see if they are going to be open -I’m sorry if this sounds harsh but that’s business, people will go elsewhere

Nice little cafe bar with an alcohol licence in case you fancy a nice lager or a wine. Normally just do coffee and a nice baguette or wrap. The quiches are brilliant though, according to my wife. The cakes also are excellent and all home made, if you’re not on a diet that is. It’s our go to place in Rugby and we go in most weeks. Has to be the best one in the area for both food and price.

If i didn't know that this place was here I wouldn't have wandered around to the church side arcade. Anita the owner makes most of the things on the premises so you can be guaranteed a lovely fresh cake or homemade soup. She even offers to book it out for private bookings

I attended a private function at this lovely little cafe today, but had forgotten to inform the host, before the day, of my gluten free requirements. The wonderful owners went out of their way to supply me with an array of gluten free sandwiches, when I talked to them about my predicament, which I was very grateful for! Really wonderful service from very friendly owners, I will definately be back to sample the lovely sounding gluten free cakes that are made especially for the shop by the owner!

Attended an event here with friends and was a little disappointed. Our afternoon tea was a little boring. Sandwiches were a little dry as was the sponge cake. We paid £32 for a cake stand of goodies for two which seems quite expensive - I’m not sure the cakes were homemade/freshly baked. The ladies were very attentive throughout the evening but it all felt a bit rushed and rather average.

First class gem of a cafe bar hidden away in a quiet part of Rugby town centre. Great food and excellent service from very nice staff. Highly recommended.

Attended a private hen party here yesterday evening for tapas and cocktail making and what a brilliant evening we all had. We were made to feel extremely welcome and pretty much made ourselves at home. The cocktail making experience was fantastic, our hosts made sure everyone got involved and made it very enjoyable. The tapas was fantastic and plenty of it. Would highly recommend this place and I for sure will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

Una pequeña y coqueta cafetería, el trato es inmejorable y los pasteles son caseros. El café está bien, tampoco es una maravilla pero lo demás muy bien. Los batidos los hay de un montón de sabores

This place seems to have changed hands a couple of times lately, It is quite small so not a lot of room but coffee is nice and new owners seem nice too. Decorated nicely, and tables and chairs go well with the name!!. Nothing like Coffee Shops on High Street and extra room on comfy chairs outside cafe but still inside!!

Delicious food and drink at a great price, with excellent service, in a secret, quaint cafe. I had a mocha, sandwich, and velvet cream cake for my late lunch on Saturday, with my partner. It was very busy, but Antia and Nikki managed it all with a smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble. Great selection for odd dietry requirements (i have a gluten-free friend who would love it here). The 'afternoon tea' crowd were enjoying processo and wine with their cakes and lunches, but unfotunately I had to drive, so had to miss out on that! Highly recommended. I'll definately be back.

Tried this for the first time with my 6 year old daughter, my friend and her daughter. It was nicely decorated and the owners were pleasant. Quite small so would fill up quickly. Food was reasonably priced and very nice. We asked for a fried egg with our sausage sandwiches but were told they couldn't do it because of regulations re cooking temperatures (or something!). They did offer and omelette instead though. We went on half term weekday morning and all the other clientele were of a much older generation. Loved the decor in the toilet! We would return.

I came here with friends for something different, and booked afternoon tea this morning. Apparently it was short notice (Ive never had "afternoon tea" before) and the lady seemed quite nervous that she hadnt made enough food. I bought for 5 and I reckon we could have easily had another 2 people with us, there was that much food. All of it was very nice, and I really rate the coffee there.

I met with a friend for lunch at Papillon which has very recently changed hands. We received a warm welcome and ordered Bacon, Brie and Spinach sandwiches with tea. The tea arrived very quickly and not too long afterwards, the sandwiches were ready. These came with a little bowl of crisps, but bemusingly, with sachets of brown sauce. We were still looking at these, when a bowl of tomato ketchup was also provided. Now I know that these condiments are a delight with a bacon butty, but with spinach and brie I have my reservations! We didn't partake.

Very nice cafe with lovely staff, fresh food and the coffees much nicer than Costa its the kind of place Rugby needs not another chain coffee and cake place but a personal place. Support these businesses or lose them.

Went in the afternoon to have a cream tea with a friend. The place looks lovely and it was rather busy. Ordered a cream tea to be told there was not clotted cream. Changed my order to a slice of cake: there wasn't much choice (lemon or chocolate)

Last night I had a fabulous time at Papillon which my friends chose as the venuefor my retirement party and they couldn't have chosen anywhere better - lovely setting and atmosphere and the 2 girls working there went way beyond the call of duty to make the evening even helping us to the taxi rank with all my presents!

Fine, but not a vegan restaurant. Otherwise give it a go if that's not important to you. Coming up as a vegan restaurant may waste a lot of time.

My partner and I had to be at Wolfhampcote church (nearby) for a rehearsal at 1pm last Sunday, so I rang up the Old Olive Bush to ask if they could fit us in for lunch. They wouldn't normally have opened before 12.30, but Linda was determined that we wouldn't be late for our rehearsal, and offered to open up at midday. She also described the steak pie in such alluring terms that we placed an order for it immediately...and it lived up to the billing. Thank you, Linda, for a delicious lunch, and for being so helpful. We hope to come again!

Great venue for local artists and makers. Usually demonstrations taking place. Fabulous cakes and drinks available. It's not a pub anymore! Don't rate it low just because it's not been updated on here it is unfair! How do request a change of listing TripAdvisor?
