Awful chips, cheap hard potatoes.

Lovely meal at papa’s. Annie our waitress was very welcoming on arrival and friendly throughout the service. Would highly recommend.

Lived up to the hype. Was my first visit after driving all the way from York but it was worth it.

Didn't buy ad gluten free was off the menu that day.

Poor quality products, not worth trying

The last few times I have visited the food has only just been warm. We go through the drive through at Bilton and the last few times we have had missed items or asked for gravy and got mushy peas( we have had our receipt to prove this. Will definitely be finding a new fish and chip shop.

We spent over £30 n asked at the time of ordering iff it can be split into 2 orders in separate bags,we then told then again when paying it was 2 separate orders and needed putting in 2 separate bags, the young lad said yes he'll put it on the receipt and when it came to the window it was all in 1 bag, it was a young girl and we asked iff we could have another bag so we could our skns order in a separate bag to drop off at separate address and she said we couldn't have another bag because it was all done on 1 order absolutely disgusting, you spend over £30 and not allowed an extra bag

2 dopey boys cooking and 2 miserable teenager girls serving, at one mine an hour

It was closed because of an electrical fault

Worst fish and chips I have had , fish was brown falling apart , chips burnt and hard and gravy was cold and horrible , never again

I went through the drive through, it wasn't express, however, the food was freshly cooked, very nice, excellent curry sauce, peas and gravy, they have beans too, I will go again yes

I get tempted every now and then , to use the drive through . And everytime I do I remember why I shouldn't have . Eat in or takeaway from the shop .. don't use the drive though...25 mins last time I sat there waiting before anyone even popped there head out the window.

Gets a goodish rating cause normally the Papa's chain is belting for food, however. We had a small trip out to the Bilton restaurant for lunch the other day, no heating on... (These things happen) but then equally the place just seemed a bit tired compared to the other restaurants under the chain and they didn't have their Gluten Free frier on which mean it was a complete wasted trip. Shame really.

Did not go inside. We did the drive, though we can not complain. I just wish the chips were a bit more brown.

First time we went we got a nice portions was piping hot served by the girls so thought we’de go again today “ tues 28th” it was terrible scabby chips ,pale sausage peas & gravy was stone cold the guys said sauce machine wasn’t even turned on so had to reheat them in microwave, no drinks in the bag shouldn’t be getting it so wrong when the place is so dead it’s just laziness feel sorry for anyone who went in drive through today . won’t be returning it’s just not worth it !

Loved it. Nice for a Friday tea time treat. Good quality fish, I had large and it was very large. Chips are great, not sloppy or full of grease. The sausages are quality too. In all highly recommended and visit often.

Rubbish got home no fish happened last year as won't ever use again

There is a sign on entry, asking you to wait to be seated. Eventually, after shouting and pressing the bell on the bar, I phoned the restaurant to ask for service. The staff had been in the kitchen trying to keep warm because there is no heating, other than a small electric oil filled radiator. The sausage, chips and curry sauce was lovely but the chicken and mushroom pie was so hard, my wife was struggling to be able to cut it. They did replace her meal though.

Turned up at 21:50, the restaurant closes at 10pm. We were refused food through the drive thru because the pans were apparently out of service, however we witnessed the cashier with his backpack on getting ready to close. Appalling service, lying to customers to get an early close

Visited Sunday, not very busy but been before so looking forward to the food. Freezing cold, kept coats on, asked the waitress about the heating, told it wasn't working, long story short, foodbrill, service ropey, next visit wont sit down until sure heating is working. Contacted Papas vie email Sunday. Thank you Papas for your kind response,as of 3.15pm today.

Went through the drive through ordered and drove to the window. First was charged for someone elses order over £11 more. Then get home to find out all the order wasn't there. Very disappointed. This is the 3rd time I have had a problem with Bilton papas and will be the last. Will not be returning.

The actual food was excellent but the place was so cold we all sat with our hat and coats on,when I booked a table I was informed that they had trouble with the heating but I never imagined it would be so cold,I would have gone elsewhere but our party included an old lady of 94 so it was very difficult to find another venue at such short notice,I couldn’t understand why they couldn’t provide some temporary heating ,they did have a small heater but a candle would have thrown more heat out ,I think it should not have been open until it was warm enough as it was nearly warmer outside ,shame on whoever decides to keep it open

Lovely service from the young lady working on the till tonight, very helpful and cheery. Quick and efficient service. Food was lovely and I’d recommend to friends and family.

Needed a shave after waiting so long for a simple fish special.... One person celebrated their retirement they had been waiting so long... Staff member behind counter needed a sat nav they were that lost... Car pulled up at drive thru and surprisingly they'd got their order wrong... 10 minutes that car was at the drive thru 😂

Went for a evening meal after work the restaurant was freezing the waitress said the heating had broken down. Meal was OK but went cold before we could finish it people didn't hang around after eating perhaps this is the management way to stop people stayjng. If thinking of visiting this restaurant take a fleece to keep warm

The restaurant was absolutely freezing no heating on which made our food go cold within minutes, we even had to eat with our coats on, my mum is 86yrs old and I had to keep her hands warm by rubbing them with mine every few minutes. I complained to the waitress and she was in full agreement about the restaurant not having heating, many others had complained. She was very nice and said she had given the feedback to her manager Even my mums cuppa of hot tea was cold after 10mins, we had to ask for another one For £36 this was not worth the money Cold restaurant and cold food Disgusting. And also the add the light in the disable toilet did not work so I had to take my mum into the ladies toilets and help her. I think I should be offered some discount voucher for such a terrible experience I would appreciate some acknowledgment about this complaint

Went recently no heating on ordered fish and chips twice very slow service this was early Afternoon no in front staff in the restaurant very disappointed whiteheads in Hornsea far better

Takeaway Food is hit and miss, staff are unhelpful and have no customer service skills. Waiting times are terrible.

Olivia looked after us from start to finish. Service was fast and food was fresh. Olivia is a credit to Papas.

Nice selection ,but food was on the cool side needed a microwave to heat it up

Have been going to Papas Bilton for take aways since they opened. The last twice I have been I can say it has definately gone down hill. Just picked up ours and when we got home all the chips were covered in black bits as though they had been fried in oil that something had burnt in it. To far away to take back so we just had the fish, which was also not as fantastic as it used to be. Will try Kingswood next time to see if any better, if not will b looking for somewhere else./

Had high hopes after seeing reviews. Price was reasonable £7.99 for take away haddock, chips & peas but they were awful. The fish batter was too think in parts & soggy. The chips weren’t fresh so weren’t hot, they tasted stale & many were covered in black bits. The mushy peas were ok. I asked for a fork, didn’t get one. To add insult to injury the server wasn’t at all friendly. After a couple of bites , I put the lot in the bin.

Very disappointing on the drive though service, in the que for 40min with other drivers, finaly got to the pay window to be told they couldn't tak a cash payment they only had 4p in change in the till. You have got to be joking ?

Firstly this is not something that I would normally do, but was just so incredibly disappointed by our experience tonight 27/10/23. Took mum for a birthday meal(85), she loves it here, but the restaurant was absolutely freezing. If we wouldn't have had our outdoor coats in the car, there would have no way we could have stayed with mum. All the customers were complaining how cold it was with the poor waitress having to constantly apologise. One couple had managed to requisition a small heater from somewhere and had it plugged in near their table. The food was lovely, as always, but very quickly became cold before we could finish it. I felt so sorry for my mum, as she kept apologising for asking to go there,. As i say, food was good but evening just ruined by lack of heating.

Awful place...no heating..food rubbish..restaurant dirty...very expensive for a poor meal..won't be going again!

Massively over charged on one occasion. Charged £21 for one sausage and chips a single sausage and curry. Slow service, quality of food terrible. The drive through is so tight that it scratched my car. I complained to head office and I was ignored. No response, absolutely shocking. The lights on departure of the drive through have all been knocked over by other cars, vans etc. This drive through clearly has an issue. Save you're money and go somewhere else. Absolutely SHOCKING.

Stopped here on the way back into hull, served by Suzy who was very welcoming and attentive. The food was very nice and worth the prices. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone

Only 4 for service. The staff were great but didn't cater for vegans despite the vegan menu.

Ordered 2 large haddock and chips with mushy peas, brown bread and pickled onions. Received 2 medium fish and 2 slices or stale white bread. My fish also had bones in. I've been here many times and will not be coming back. Spoilt a very nice restaurant.

Absolutely beautiful waitresses where really helpful as we needed some hot water to warm a babies jar of food thank you so much will be visiting again

Click and collect full Sunday Eve so just drove down and walked into takeaway instead. Large cod, small haddock, chips, peas, curry sauce. Could not fault service, presentation or taste. Delicious. Would defo go again.

Great place to eat, the fish is always cooked perfectly. Would recommend as it’s rather on the cheap side for a fish shop and do some great deals on family meals.

Absolutely horrendous resturant The service is shocking and the food is bad Start of with order for some reason have to psy at the bar first different to the willerby resturant took the staff for ever to take our order as wasnt trained i get staff shortage thats acceptable but we was the only table in the restaurant. There was 11 of us in our party The food was very average i had cod myself could tell it was frozen. We was missing gherkins and a gravy we after going up and asking for them twice which is unacceptable they bought them out after we all finished our meals so sent thrm back then after looking at out bill we relised that they over charged for 2 extra fish and some sides which was a total of £31.35 None off us enjoyed our food and was such a waste of money We have been to the willerby restaurant before and that was alot better and woukd return there but never again to the bilton restaurant 0/10

Bought a medium Haddock and chips, the fish was a brown colour, not good..

Fish is Amazing. Its just the staff, staff are disorganized, not properly trained on asking peoples orders or delivering what they ordered. Senior staff seem to understand this but do not seem to care. I wound say of all the Papas this is the worst run and seems to have a high turnover of management.

Has been a while since visiting Papa's at Bilton. Still as we remembered it simply excellent.

We’re regular customers here and we love it, but every single time you get our order wrong. We always get gravy or beans instead of curry, you’ve gave us the wrong fish. Forgotten the chips. It’s getting really annoying now as we keep having cold food thorough going back to your restaurant to rectify your mistakes. Sort it out this happens every time without fail

We were greeted by a lovely young lady sarah...we had the pensioners fish and chips and syrup role poly...Sarah a lovely girl took order and delivered drinks and served us promptly .brought all the sauces and looked after us... No problem...roll poly was wonderful great meal great pud And great service thankyou👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Went for a family meal with relatives we haven't seen for years. The restaurant was empty, apart from a few people. The server was nice but was in his own.

The place was dirty, tired and in need of staff. The fish was dry and mainly batter. Everything was an add on, which made a reasonable fish and chips for two a nearly £30 bill. That would have been okay if it had been nice...

Great location and not too busy, the food was amazing and catered for our vegan daughters giving the option to have everything fried in non beef dripping. Service from Cameron was first class as we wanted for nothing.
