Panshi in Elmbridge

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here with friends yesterday evening. Delicious food and excellent service. Definitely need to book for the weekend. Highly Recommended, enjoy!

I have used Panshi since it opened and it has always been very good. Tonight the papa sums were clearly cooked in very old oil and although I only ate a small portion it is still repeating on me. Desperately disappointing and why doesn’t the chef try them before sending them out. This is unacceptable. I shall not return.

We have been coming here, and having takeaways, for at least 10 years. A firm favourite when our parents visit, or for a family and friends event. Naga tikka bhuna is my favourite hotter dish, Prawn dansak never disappoints and the mushroom side dish always goes down well. We've tried pretty much all the dishes, each hits the mark. We will be back, and again (and so on 😀).

When we arrived the restaurant was very cold even though they said heating was on it was 7.45 pm it took about a hour forme to warm up as more people came in But food was great I advised ladies to take a wrap or shawl for your shoulders

Food was tasteless. Have had great food there before but there was no joy in eating last night. Thinking twice about going back. Life's too short. Ordered jalfrezi, god knows what I got. Should have said something, but don't like to make a scene. What I did have was flavourless. Not sure what it was meant to be. Ruined my evening.

We have visited Panshi several times recently and service is always polite and friendly and the food is excellent. We have chosen from the specials on each occasion and the dishes were full of flavour and tasty. We would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

This has to be the best Indian food in the area. We get curries from here when we crave a takeaway. There are many Indian restaurants much nearer but this is the place we always go back to. Can’t recommend it enough.

My pair of friends and I went to Panshi last night (on the occasion of my 85 birthday) to "celebrate"(?) the event. I had my favourite chicken pasanda (£12.95) - coupled with a stuffed parath and (thick) tarka dal. One friend had chicken tikka masala (£12.75); the other had balti tropical (£15.95). Both had the usual accompanyments that go with these dishes. It was a wet night - which explained the fact that few people were in the restaurant that evening. I was informed that they are normally very busy - as ideed they were when we first visited Panshi on 13 February this year - so there was a quiet but welcoming atmosphere. All the food was as delicious as before. As before, everything was spotlessly clean (including the men's lavatory) with linen tablecloths. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. Parking outside was effortless. The large and extensive menu did state that prices had had to rise by 3-8% due to increasing overheads; everything, therefore, cost a bit more than it did last time but was still extremely good value. We intend going back again in 6-8 weeks time. In summary: stil first rate. Highly recommended.

My first visit to Panshi. The staff were friendly and the food was good. It was easy to park outside. We had the mixed starters which were very nice, followed by the Panshi chicken special which was tasty and a lamb dish (the lamb was a bit chewy) but overall it was a good meal.

Ordered a lovely meal for 8 family members and the food was delicious. It came packed carefully and when opened was nice and hot. We had a variety of main meals and sides. A very pleasant meal and the staff when we collected were all very friendly. Thanks so much guys!

Although it's only a mile or so from where I live and although I'm a great lover of Indian sub-Continent food, it was the first time that I had been there, I went with two friends last night (13 Feb). Panshi is situated in a U-shaped road that leads to Hinchley Wood Railway Station. The moment we stepped in, we felt that the restaurant gave out a welcoming atmosphere. I counted 11 tables - all of which were rapidly filled shortly after our arrival. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. I had my usual (chicken pasanda, tarks dal and a stuffed paratha); my friends ordered lamb biriani, lamb pathia, a keema nan and rice. My pasanda was probably the best one I had ever tasted, the tarka dal was perfectly thickened and the stuffed paratha was good (although a little thin). All dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. Prices are reasonable and in line with equivalent restaurants. The restaurant and the lavatories were immaculately clean. Parking (after 6pm) outside or close by is a doddle. I can't find anything to criticise about Panshi. It appears that the restaurant is normally filled with local residents - so booking is highly advisable!! Other reviewers, I note, give high recommendations; I'm adding mine. NB Readers (if any) of my various reviews may have noticed that I have yet to write an unfavourable one. Be assured that my standards really are exacting and any faults are recorded in my reviews. I guess I've been very fortunate in visiting good/excellent restaurants.

Visited on Sunday evening. Have been without a regular Indian restaurant since chutneys in Wimbledon closed pre pandemic. The food was delicious service excellent and the staff freindly and talkative. The bill was reasonable for what we enjoyed. Nice contemporary interior and parking nearby. Ali we will be back.

11 of us had a meal here yesterday and it was a great evening. Fab food excellent service. We will be returning again soon.Thank you.

Living in France and only restaurant that I always remember is panshi. I worked so many places and for so many restaurants but panshi is something else. The way they prepared food is incredible. The good thing about panshi is from the beginning to end of the service they maintain same quantity and quality. Especially the head chef is so experienced and the best chef I ever worked with and the owner is very caring and apply/give/do justice to everyone/everything. Feeling bless and feeling motivated to have this wonderful touch 🙏

We were the only customers at midweek lunchtime. Our first visit in years to this square, lined with shops, we were delighted to find easy parking. Every dish was excellent and the mango lassi was impressively thick. We noticed that the takeaway menu online had classic favourites like tikka masala, korma and butter chicken but the in-house menu did not. Nevertheless, they were happy to make anything we wanted from the takeaway menu. Service was polite, food came within 15-20 minutes, indicating it was freshly prepared. We're looking forward to our next visit.

I’m not boasting but this is the Indian round here and we are local! It’s better than any within a five mile radius. If you love Indian food fresh and tasty look no further. They also accommodate if you have special requests. Everyone I talk to prefers this Indian. Can’t recommend a better one really!

Best curry house! We found this hidden gem a few years back after being introduced by a friend. We do not live in the delivery area, but would still rather drive the 20 min it takes, than eat anywhere else. Definitely the best curry we have eaten. The produce is alway good quality, never greasy. Would highly recommend you try it, you will not be disappointed.

The food here is superb. I usually order a takeaway and I’ve never been left disappointed. On the odd chance I’ve tried a new restaurant I always end up back here as it is so nice. Good quality and tasty. The masala sauce is delicious too not artificial tasting like I find in other restaurants

We dined here last night and could not be more dissapointed. The main vegetarian curry was mainly potatoes, two pieces of cauliflower and 3 sugar snaps. Not what you expect for almost £9 plus £3,50 for the rice. Drinks are overpriced, £6,85 for a beer and £3,50 for a 33cl glass of coke. Menu picture in here is not updated. My parter had the grill which costs £15 and couldnt even finish it as said chicken was the worst ever, dry and tasteles, and the kofta did not taste right. Shame our dinner date was ruined by a very poor quality food.

This is an absolute joke of an establishment that should be avoided at all costs. 1. FOOD I ended up with acid reflux and vomitting the whole night, this means the food is not fresh and they are reheating old made items. This is in particular with the onion bhajis which are soaked in oil (on the inside as well mind you) as they have been fried and refried again on order. The samosas are also old and not homemade, I can tell when they are from a frozen packet. The spinach used in the saag is also old and frozen, again what a joke. 2. SERVICE This is terrible as well, staff are slow and service is very slow as well (given you are cooking premade frozen food, I don't understand why). 3. SHADY PRACTISES Now we get to the interesting part, there are a ton of shady practises going on at this restaurant which frankly should be reported to trading standards. We had a tray of pickles and chutneys (that we paid for after checking our rip off bill) that the waiters kept insisting on taking away. I assume these were then topped up, cleaned up, and then taken to other tables. We also tried to pay for the bill by splitting the amount, and the waiter tried to con us out of more money. He divided the total wrong on purpose, so they could rip us off. What a joke of an establishment. We also received a takeaway of our left over items, which were missing several items (I assume the chef bagged them), and portions on the table were not fully transferred to the bag. For the love of dear god, take the positive reviews with a grain of salt, and avoid this absolute joke of an establishment at all costs.

Ordered a meal from here via internet not realising it was wrong area. Already paid. They immediately refunded my money. Very rare to find honest people. Would love to try their food. Can’t fault them

Had a takeaway delivered last night. The food was exceptional. King prawn dansak was delicious with big juicy prawns and the chicken shashlik tender and tasty. Can highly recommend this excellent Indian restaurant

On recommendation we decided to have a takeaway from Panshi last night. Extremely disappointing. The two curry dishes were extremely sweet and flavorless. The chicken tikka did not taste like it had been cooked in a tandoor and the rice was not basmati. All this and very expensive. We will stick to M&S from now on

I had a vegetarian take away. Absolutely delicious. This is a well-known superb local Bangladeshi restaurant; rightly so.

I am not really a fan of Indian food although my wife needs her curry "fix" at least once a month. We had compromised by her having a takeaway but she had always tried to convince me to go for it and eat in a proper Indian restaurant. At Panshi, the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes and variations that would suit a first timer and we both had a great meal. I would highly recommend Panshi.

Tucked away in Hinchley Wood, this Bangladeshi Restaurant was a superb choice to celebrate my birthday. The menu had a wide variety of choices. The staff were excellent & friendly. We will definitely visit again.

Went to the Panshi a couple of days after New Year to celebrate my birthday. It was very busy, we got the very last table.The food as always was superb, everything cooked to perfection and so tasty.Service is good and the place is extremely clean.Always a good atmosphere and great food, I will only go to the Panshi now if we want to eat Indian food.

Panshi is far away from the usual “local Indian” as one can get. Describing themselves as Bangladeshi rather than Indian they offer a range of dishes, mostly hailing from the northern style of Indian cooking which are very well prepared and correctly spiced. The servers are happy to discuss the dishes knowledgeably and authoritatively which is helpful and interesting. Drinks are sensibly priced and the service excellent.We consider ourselves lucky to be locals and having Panshi so easily accessible.

had a lovely lunch at Panshi in Hinchley Wood on New Year's day. excellent service and superb food. all thoroughly enjoyable and good value to boot. only downside being that the restaurant was physically cold and their heating system struggling to warm it up; probably at a busier time the presence of more diners would have helped this but i guess lunchtime on NY day is never going to be that busy and my wife kept her coat on throughout, while i had cold legs.

Fantastic meal and great service

I'm a lorry driver who got stuck close to the restaurant. On the off chance that they delivered I called them and they couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delivered on time and was outstanding! I cant recommend this restaurant and its staff enough, I just wish I didn't live 150 miles away or this would be my regular. The best curry I've had for many years, thank you.

My family consider that this is the best Indian restaurant in the area. We visited on a Monday evening which for restaurants is not a particularly good night. You know if you get there at 6 pm that you are going to wait for the meal if it is to be cooked fresh. On this occasion we startedwith the shared starter for 2+ a starting dish. The shared starter was extremely tasty. We followed with the Panshi special, King prawn Buna, lamb Buna accompanied with cauliflower bhaji, stuffed Paratha and pilau rice. All the dishes had very good flavours. We had a glass of the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc and a glass of the French Sauvignon blanc. Both of which were very good also some Cobra beers. If you're in this area this is well worth a visit.

Went here with my boyfriend. The service is great, fast and friendly. The food is delicious! And not at all greasy like some Indian food I have had before. The menu is also really varied so we were spoilt for choice! I will definitely be coming back!

Myself and my partner are curry lovers and live local. This was our 1st time at this at this restaurant. Food OK, it was very fresh. The staff however are not overly friendly. I will not be rushing back 5 out of 10

In my opinion the flavours in the food at this restaurant are exactly right for my taste. Whereas some of the other restaurants are good I do not think they come up do what I like as does Panshi. On this occasion I started with the prawn bhaji and purifollowed by the lamb Makmaliand the Panshi special we also had a Peshwari NaN and I had a glass of Malbec and my guest the Mayfly Sauvignon blanc. The waiting was professional as always and in my opinion is good value for money

I've had two takeaways from Panshi in the last two weeks and both were delicious. The chicken shatrakey was exceptional and the garlic chicken chilli masala delicious. Must definitely book a table to eat in.

Really good food in a restaurant with attentive service. Food is good whether you eat in or so a takeaway as we often so from there. The entrance gets a bit crowded when lots of takeaway orders are made and it can be hard to park at times, I know that is not the restaurants fault, but something to remember.

So lucky to have such a great curry house on my doorstep. Gorgeous food with excellent service. Particularly love the Panshi Special - delicious. Highly recommend.

This is my favourite Indian Restaurant. Not too big, an great menu and the food is always excellent. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

I visited the restaurant with a couple of colleagues for lunch very early on a weekday. It was fairly quiet. I was very pleased with the clean and neat restaurant appearance, the white tablecloths, good choice of dishes and the pleasant location. My chicken curry arrived quite quickly, the service was efficient, and the meal was very tasty, warm, well presented and fresh. The pilau rice was good. I'd definitely visit again. The two colleagues both had other dishes and we all agreed it was a good choice. The prices were reasonable also.

Okay only recently found Panshi....had take out ...yum....went for Sat eve dinner yummy....had tthem out to do post wedding catering about 3 weeks later...faB ...fab ...GREAT FOOD...highly recommended......just order for less numbers as the portions were very generous!

Strangely we were the one boy diners in the restaurant for Sunday lunch on 24th Feb, although there were several people collecting take away food. I say strangely because the last time we were there, on. Friday evening. The restaurant was packed. Anyway more the good for us with attentive service and excellent food. We enjoyed every mouthful!

As we were unable to go out we ordered a 'take-away meal, a small selection of our favourite dishes. We were very pleased that it was good as we have experienced when eating there.

Everyone seems to love the Panshi, including us,for its great food, and the charming service together with a great range of curries. Best to book as it’s popular for both eat in and takeaway meals.

If you want a really tasty curry in a clean, inviting and friendly environment, you need look no further; the Panshi in Hinchley Wood is as good as it gets.

we were looking forward to our Sunday lunch at Panshi but my elderly parents in law that we were taking there were in the end too frail to go, on the day. So, I called, cancelled the table and instead ordered a take away meal from a very pleasant fellow named Jitu, who could not have been more helpful. 35 minutes later I collected the food, which was ready on time, took it to my in-laws where the 4 of us enjoyed every mouthful. it was tasty, fresh, the Poppadums were just right, and each dish perfect. The restaurant is well positioned in Hinchley Wood and it was easy to park, i could see when i collected that the restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff there exceptionally accomodating. Next time i hope we eat there. Highly recommended.

The Panshi for us is walkable and recently we’ve been visiting more and more. It’s not your average Indian restaurant it’s more cuisine (I think the reviewer before must be getting confused with another restaurant.....How can you call the food here dire?) Service is great too and we often get a take away. Don’t take the last reviewers word, go and taste the food for yourself, I’m sure you will more than likely agree with me.

This is a regular favourite for me since it opened. Food and service always great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
