Giggling Squid Weybridge in Elmbridge

It is the first time i visit Giggling Squid and we were impressed by the delicious and authentic Thai dishes. The best Thai dishes i have ever taste in the UK! It comes with good atmosphere too! Definitely will go again!

Always amazing! Been to this Weybridge branch a few times and Esher too. Always lovely food, service and atmosphere.

Yummy food and friendly staff. Tamarind mushrooms is a must try!!! The ambience of the place is amazing and the staff is very polite and helpful.

Really perfect date night. There are ingredients I haven’t seen often combined together in a really palatable way. I can’t often enjoy spice, but the single pepper melting beef was so delicious! My first time there definitely deserves a repeat to explore more of the chefs fascinating perspective. The salad also had some really interesting elements that I really enjoyed the opportunity to taste.

Staff were AMAZING! Professional and wonderful from start to finish 👏 Food also EXCELLENT! great place to eat! I would highly recommend it! 10 out of 10 ⭐️

Lovely Thai restaurant with a great ambience. Food was delicious and their chicken (but not chicken wings) and lamb are halal so had a fabulous dinner full of fresh flavours to tantalise the taste buds.

Every time I meet my friend in Esher we go to the Giggling Squid. Food is always excellent. Service is always attentive. And the beautifully decorated restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.

Dine in this weekend and had the most amazing experience. The service and food were absolutely amazing, and we had a lovely night out. Would definitely recommend it!

You can choose little mixed dish platters here which offer you rice and three other dishes. It is nicely presented. For me it was pleasant rather than good and little light on flavour. For example, the chicken satay, I could barely notice the peanut sauce. The decor is pleasant and modern and it is a decent lunch venue

Nice and delicious Thai foods especially pad Thai.

A fabulous place to eat Thai food with a varied selection of dishes on the menu. Amazing portion sizes using top-quality ingredients. The duck confit is definitely worth a try. Staff are polite and attentive. Left feeling content with a full stomach at a fair price. Good selection of Thai beers, and I would definitely come back again. Thanks!

Fantastic food and I've really enjoyed everything I've tried here so far. Friendly staff and welcoming. We had chicken satay to start (a classic and this was delicious) and then I had the prawn & soft shell crab curry, quite spicy but absolutely fantastic. Really well flavoured and great with a bowl of plain rice. Had some morning glory for the side very tasty as well. Will definitely return again.👍

Had a lovely dinner here last week, Food was delicious, all fresh and good quality ingredients. All staff were very nice and friendly. Would highly recommend the Papaya salad and Pad Thai.

I go to Giggling Squid in Weybridge all the time, as I live very nearby. I've only ever had great experiences there! I've taken many friends, who have now all become regulars! The Giant Butterfly King Prawn Pad Thai is delicious and fresh, and their curries are also excellent. Having been regularly, I can say the staff are friendly and really lovely. The food always comes quickly (and I recommend the Street Food sharer). The interior is cosy and intimate, but the takeaway service is also great, and takes a maximum of 20 minutes to pick up when you call. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The waiters are not polite in conversation, they do not respect the customers or the drivers who come here to pick up food. everyone is equal you must treat everyone with respect. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

The atmosphere and the food was very unique and exquisite. The people were also very nice and gave out free sides. I would highly recommend if you want to try a Thai cuisine.

Great food and service, really like the venue decor too. The restaurant is pretty large. At the time I went (approx 5pm) it was just starting to get busy so atmosphere felt a little low. Otherwise all in all was perfect. Recommended 😀

My wife and I ate here to celebrate some good news. The restaurant decor is good and it was clean and tidy. The food and mocktails we had were all excellent, everything was cooked really well and tasted excellent. Service from all the staff was great and I can’t fault anyone. We really enjoyed our meal and would happily return here in the future.

We go here once a month. We have two toddlers and often struggle for them to eat their vegetables. Here they seem to eat enough for the month! The staff are always so welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. Fantastic service, June is great with the kids and always makes them laugh and gets them colouring pens, kids cutlery and plastic glasses. Thank you

Excellent lunch tapas and Prawn & Softshell Crab curry is our favorite curry so far. The restaurant has a large and comfortable space. We had a new vegetarian Salt & Pepper Chilli Mushrooms!, and the Pork belly is such a yummy starter. We have eaten at other Thai restaurants in the close area, and this is one of the best. We love coming here because of the quality of food and atmosphere. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We hope they do well, and we will keep going back.

Giggling Squid in Weybridge is an absolute gem deserving of five stars across the board. From the superb food to the impeccable service and delightful atmosphere, every aspect of this restaurant shines. The interior design is perfectly exquisite, adding to the overall dining experience. It's become my favorite spot, and it's the reason I now have a deep appreciation for Thai cuisine. The staff are not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, ensuring a memorable visit every time. With delicious food and impeccable service, there's nothing bad to say about this restaurant. In my opinion, it's the best non-Michelin star restaurant in the area. I’m looking forward to visiting more of their restaurants as they expand across the southeast and London.

Gorgeous food, the choice for lunch was great so very tasty. Service was fab and the decore is stunning. I will definitely go back for another lunch.

*****AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE****** I recently had my 41st birthday in this “restaurant” with my two children and partner. My partner and I live in Swindon but came up to be with my children and decided (regrettably) to choose here for dinner! Firstly when we arrived we were greeted by a very unfriendly lady who sat on the floor and had blue medical gloves on picking prawn crackers from a plastic container that was on the floor and not in the kitchen! This put me off straight away! Then when we ordered our food within 5 minutes it arrived on our table! This may seem fast and efficient but having worked in the trade myself I know this is not a good thing and that it was reheated and definitely not cooked from fresh which when you pay £122 quid for a meal, from fresh is what you expect. The prawns were hugely over cooked, the rice came out lukewarm and my noodles had congealed together meaning they had just been reheated in the microwave! Never the less we ate what we could as we were hungry and left bitterly disappointed! On my way home on the M4 ( roughly 90 mins later) I started to feel very unwell and had to pull over on the hard shoulder to throw up what I had just eaten! I immediately called My children who were with us and asked if they felt ok to which they say yes….how ever later on that evening I received a phone call from their mum saying that they had both been seriously sick in the night! We complained to the head office and they just fed us some BS about allergies and cooking temperatures! No refund, no apology! Absolutely shocking!….when my ex wife called she told me that she wishes she knew I was going there as she’s heard terrible things there and at the esher branch a rat ran over one of her family members foot! Absolutely disgusting, disgraceful and unacceptable! We will be going to the EHO! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

AVOID! Visited for a birthday celebration. Was a little surprised and suspicious when all the food came out 5 minutes after we order showing the food isn’t cooked fresh and clearly microwaved. All but one of the group fell ill and they all ate the same thing however when raised with giggling squid it was implied that we had made it up and a councidence that they were all ill from the food and it must be the winter flu bug as food poisoning only presents itself 2-4 days after eating at a restaurant which I believe is a joke. Not to mention the reply was clearly a template they have for anyone who suffers and doesn’t follow up with a doctor or hospital appointment to get tests done. The cost was expensive for the amount of food on the plates and unfortunately after the customer service experience it has secured us not to ever return to any of the branches.

Great Thai food done well. The Quality of food, portion size, great service, and ambience made for a really good dining experience. Would definitely go back.

Once again; good service and great food. Pad thai could have been a bit warmer as i am a slow eater so it was cold after 15 minutes. Definitely returning! Sorry no photos this visit. Visited again yesterday. Great food and service again. Chicken pad Thai was really good. Georgina ate prawn pad thai. Huge portions, neither of us could finish it all. On my own yesterday, Sunday 28/1/24. Restaurant was really quiet at just 2pm. Hence the lack of atmosphere. I had the lunchtime version of the prawn pad thai without tofu or coriander. Excellent with a glass of chilean merlot!

Food was great,but quantity was little for the price

The service at this place is poor . The staff always try to replace the expensive ingredients ( beef) with cheaper cuts like pork or chicken even. The portion sizes are small too especially given the high prices. Giggling squid Weybridge take note !

Cannot fault the service, it was amazing and the food came out super fast. I can’t help thinking that going a bit more slowly on the food could improve the quality? The food was awful - we had three dishes: the squid and pork (?) in the starter was inedible, the sticky chicken was dry, the red curry flavour was good but the meat was poor. The wine was overpriced. I’ve had better experiences at other locations of this chain.

The service and the food is amazing. Greated with smiles and care. The food was spot on and tailored to our requirements.

Great service, great menu, friendly and responsive staff. Amazing food. We met up here as it had come recommended. Had drinks while we waited for a member of our group. Ordered the sharing platter to start, which was very nice indeed. Our mains followed and everyone was very pleased with the food quality, the amounts, taste and timings. We had wine with our meal, this was also good, served at the right temperature. All in all, Pretty Spot On. Would recommend to anyone. We had a vegan in our group and they said the same. Thank You

Stopped for lunch here on a Monday. Barely anyone at lunch time. Ordered a few tapas style dishes and classic Thai food. All food was tasty and well made. Parking was on the street further away. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend going here

We returned to the restaurant and have not been disappointed ! The manager Nam as always was accommodating and made the experience extremely pleasant ! The staff was very good ! The chef though the restaurant was busy accommodated my partners dietary needs to perfection Will be returning soon

Went here with my family. Had a fabulous time. My father is 82 and registered disabled and he wouldn’t shut up about amazing the disabled toilets were. So good he even stated that he would write a letter to the Times about how good it was. Food was on point. All dishes were fantastic and were delivered all at once as requested. The staff were all incredibly friends and accommodating (they even laughed at my dad’s extreme dad jokes, which is a hard task to pull off naturally). We will definitely be going back there again and will now make it our destination for birthday celebration. In a the “cost of living” crisis, this place was perfect for an affordable meal with a 5 star rating at a 4 star (or even 3 if it is lunchtime) cost.

I was really looking forward to salt and pepper squids as their name made me crave the dish. However my friend suggested the papaya salad instead as she is vegetarian. Papaya salad: very very good, quite spicy which I loved. A refreshing take on a classic salad. 5/5 Prawn pad kee mao: delicious and piping hot. I think mine lacked a little seasoning but all in all still a solid 4/5. Prawns were fresh and bouncy. I originally wanted Pad Thai, but I was not allowed to get it as I have a peanut allergy. The restaurant was strict on allergies, which is good for people who is worry about it.

We went there to celebrate my birthday and they didn't let us down. The place is quiet and spacious. The service was great, very attentive staff. The food was extremely awesome, not expecting to get full with their servings. We didn't manage to order desserts as we were contented with the main course. Price is satisfactory in comparison to the service, food and ambiance they provide. Thank you very much for the very memorable experience.

The menu has stir fry, noodles, cocktails and mocktaiks are out of this world! One of the most incredible restaurants I've been too, the interior will leave you spleecless and top of that the service from the staff is like a five star hotel A must visit

Out of this world. Had my brother's 24th birthday meal there. Was absolutely insane. Tasted incredible, the service was amazing and they even let us set up the table beforehand, sang happy birthday and let us use our own cake and Decs

Food was ok, no where as good as it used to be. Very expensive for quantity and the atmosphere was very noisy. There are far better thai restaurants out there, and not as expensive as this one. We will not be going back.

Been to this restaurant twice now. Both times the food had been fantastic. Service is warm and friendly. Reason for missing star is it's on the pricer side places to eat, but certainly worth the treat now and again.

Our first visit to a Giggling Squid and being big fans of Thai food we were not disappointed by the experience! All food was not only utterly delicious, but really well presented. Restaurant seemed very quiet for a midweek.

Service was friendly on arrival. Crispy squid was very good, rest of the food was average. Unfortunately I came out in hives shortly after leaving, I don’t have any allergies but MSG is something that has made my skin flush badly before so I checked the ingredients online and I was shocked to find they are still using this chemical in their food. Very disappointing in this day and age.

I am sorry but there are significantly better thai restaurants out there. We ordered a take away, they forget the spring rolls, the packaging was great but the food was tasteless and hardly reminded me for thai food.

Lunchtime visit to giggling squid in June. There is a specific lunchtime menu but you can choose from either the evening one or lunchtime one. Have been here a few times and as always the service is prompt and professional. Staff are friendly and happy to help out. Gave a 4 for atmosphere as lunchtime visit I've no doubt it's a 5 in the evening when the lights are dimmed and the crowds come in. The food is lovely, I've never had an issue with anything ordered and I would recommend trying the black sesame ice cream which is unique to the restaurants. Price wise it's on a par with other restaurants I didn't find it too expensive for a family of 4. Drink each starter main and dessert came to around £115. I would def consider a visit if you're near one. I will be eating here again.

Really nice food but all 3 of us were let down by the lack of meat in our dish.

Wish there had been no star option for service. Absolutely ridiculous experience by visiting this place when  we wished for a peaceful dinne on quiet sunday evening. Appalling service attitude of the staff for issue raised. We were rushed for order from the begining. Worst of it there was insect in the food and response for this was that's mosquito as though nothing wrong happend. They were unapologetic for contaiminated food. Moreover the staff were so rude and had a prejudicial mindset for problem reported and not bothering to address. Would advise to stay away frm this place if you want peaceful experience and good food.

I love the Giggling Squid. The food is always delicious and the service good. I have only marked the atmosphere down because the restaurant was quite empty when we were there but they played some great music in the background so perhaps it should be 5 stars too ⭐✨😄

It's OK. Used to be great but OK. The staff are great but the food was so so and you know there are problems when you are given a menu and then an additional menu of what they don't have available.

The tapas set dishes are just fab! Much better value for money and you can have a bigger variety of food for the same price as one dish. They had a fair few things out of stock but what was handy they printed out a receipt of everything that was so we could see rather than keep asking. Love the decor and atmosphere....one of my favourite resturant chains!

Fabulous food, beautiful presentation and flavour. Brilliant variety to suit all including vegan. Really enjoyable experience.

Nice decor - but the food wasn't very good especially for the price. The staff were friendly and attentive but it was let down by the food - good presentation but the pork was undercooked as were the potatoes and the steak was particularly grissly. The tell tale sign was all of the main courses were left half eaten. Shame!

Went for a late Saturday lunch so was a bit quiet but meant we got a seat. Love the food here. Service was good - we had the lunch tapas which is nice and you get a few different dishes.

I just love this place and love the food! So much to choose from including vegetarian options. You can't go wrong! Whatever we ordered was so delicious. It was really buzzing on a Friday night! As for the prices, I would say starters are on the expensive side in comparison to those for main courses. Other point to make would be that lights were dimmed too much to a point that we had to use torch on our mobile phones to read the menu!
