Panero Lounge in Portsmouth

Had the Lunchtime deal ( Cajun smoked Bacon soup and Tuna melt panini) It was absolutely delicious and my taste buds went into overdrive. I want the recipe for the soup, but the chef is keeping it close to his heart 5 star ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We came here because they had a gluten free menu and we were made very welcome by Jack. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely meal with a great vibe.

From start to finish, my experience at Panero Lounge has been outstanding. I came to study, upstairs was a perfect location to do this for a few hours. I was served by Jack and Jasmine on the occasions I ordered and their customer service has been wonderful. They have been friendly and very attentive and gone the extra mile to ask if I needed anything. I will definitely come back to study regularly, thank you!

Lovely place, unfortunately it took an hour for our food to come, well after our friends got their food. They didn’t apologise for the delay, and although the food was good, it wasn’t hot. The staff also looked so miserable, apart from the manager, who was constantly smiling and seemed to be carrying the team.

The atmosphere and interior are lovely. We visited on a Saturday, late morning and it was incredibly busy, eventually people were turned away due to no available tables. We ordered breakfast/brunch items - Buttermilk Pancakes with Bacon and Maple Syrup and the Big Lounge Breakfast. Unfortunately, the dishes we ordered and their respective prices were what let our visit down and in turn, have resulted in us not being fussed about returning. For £9.95, the pancakes come as a stack of 3, approx. palm size but paired with 3 measly bits of skinny bacon that aren’t enough to ratio the pancakes, and The Big Lounge Breakfast isn’t really big… the plate is taken up mostly by the 2 slices of toast and eggs, the size of the cup of beans is almost laughable - but the thing we couldn’t believe was that it’s a whopping £15.95! With other competition in the local area, either the prices need lowering, or the quantity and quality need increasing to justify the prices.

The soup was barely warm which was a shame as the taste was nice . Nice friendly staff and atmosphere.

I'm a repeat visitor! It's always nice to pop back somewhere familiar! Food here is always lovely, the bar has some fresh cakes on offer 😋 good drinks selection and atmosphere is invariably nice and chilled. Child friendly too!

Absolutely gorgeous place with lovely staff and the best coffee I've had. We got the honey beetroot flatbread with whipped feta and it was incredible. Thank you! (Please excuse how desaturated the photo is)

First off, food here is done very well. I popped in with my partner, tried the flatbread, and the tapas plates liked it so much we bought a visiting friend in for steak frites, which were also good. Tried the pancake shots, and they bang hard!! Used the app to order as it was easier service first time round was OK second time round was a lot better. Music is a very weird selection during the day is South American style music, which fits with the vibe well and is nice to chill with . In the evening, it seemingly is upbeat and loud club music? As described by a friend before we went as a place that can't decide if it wants to be a restaurant or club/bar, which does not know what it wants to be !! Stick to doing good food and nice music you'll draw a better crowd!!

The wait was very long for the lunch service. The dishes were not clean. The food was good but nothing more. The service was succinct.

Food was ok, service was ok. They allow dogs in the restaurant which is gross. They were good with my SILs gluten free needs.

I'm a regular for breakfast here, and today the staff went above and beyond. I brought my sister her for a birthday breakfast. The staff kindly as a surprise gave my sister a birthday 🎂 brownie with ice cream and candles. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this place for the staff and atmo

New staff are not as friendly as the older staff, no longer there.

Today was my wife's first meal out for over a year + due to health and dietary requirements, and the Panero Lounge was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and accomodating and it was wheelchair accessible and a brilliant vibe and we are looking forward to going again.

Delicious food, very friendly staff.

Had a very bad experience here. Woman at the bar seemed to be having a day and took it out on the people in front of us in the que. Then when she was handing me my change it was slammed in my hand. The feta cheese was very good but the prawns I had was cold and very chewy so I didn't finish them. Won’t be coming back.

Great food and service as usual from the lounges. Dog friendly inside, which is absolutely great for us. We always search out a lounge when visiting somewhere new.

Great place with good food. Good atmosphere, music, food, books, board games. Ideal for any who is Coeliac (gluten free food) like hubby - great choices and spoilt for choice.

They have whole menu for gluten free food . They could not have been more helpful explained about cross contamination and written on menu. Food was lovely I am very sensitive but had no problem at all. Had to take our 8 month old puppy with us that does not behave well and they were very good with gave him dog biscuits. Will be eating here again a time I’m in Portsmouth. Thanks you made a very stressful lunch for us coeliac the best .

Walking past and saw the menu, stopped for unplanned lunch on a Sunday. Nice table outside but under cover. Inside and sunny outside options also. Great menu including loads of veggie and vegan options. Easy ordering via web page. Delivered promptly and VERY tasty. Vegan breakfast...excellent. Vegan mezze salad bowl, very tasty and plentiful Halloumi burger..very good, nice blend of flavours Friendly staff Excellent experience, would recommend and return another day

Lovely staff, I only had a pot of tea for one, The teapot was chipped and stained, so was the milk jug.

Well me & my wife & our Puppy 🐶 , went for the First time to day here, we have been before separatly, with friends, but not together, especially as beforehand we had only gone for a coffee ☕ of a tea 🍵, anyway today we brought Two pots of Tea & my wife had a Gluten free tuna sandwich & i had a double portion of frys/chips 🍟. I went to WC , but when i returned to my wife & puppy that were sat outside on the veranda at the front, our puppy had been given by a lady server a "Pup Cup" ( what a lovely touch, so thank you to her & the rest of the staff here). The restaurant had a bar on the ground level & kitchen & on the First floor there is a large area with comfortable seats & toilets. Really clean, tidy and dust free, a really love place to come for a spot of tea, coffee, food or cake, the food we had was good quality for what we ordered, a little expensive, but very clean & well prepared and presented, a massive Gluten Free Menu as well as other food options. Great for all the family etc. Will certainly recommend. Especialy for the pup cup & the text in the gentleman WC Very nicely decorated throughout, i was so surprised how lovely and light the pub was as most pubs like the lord parminston (weatherspoons) is dirty and dark looking with lots of dark tacky areas, this one is bright cheerful & with very friendly, welcoming staff. We all had a enjoyable time especially our puppy 🐶 who Loved her First Time Pup Cup. Thank you again.

Visited Saturday just gone and although it was very busy inside, the staff were efficient and the service was fast.

I had a meeting ar this restaurant and encountered very rude staff member. I was reading a document I was handed by a colleague and staff member come over to take are order. I did not notice she had started talking to me as was reading the document and thought she was talking to the person next to me. She responded 'ignoring me are you'. I told her I wasn't and I hadn't noticed she was speaking to me. She responded 'right, right' saying it slowly and in a very sarcastic tone. While do I apologise if it came across as ignoring her (which I wasn't) but there is no need to make comments like that when I'm with people who to use sarcasm to a customer. Due to this I will no longer visiting this restaurant or recommended friends go if this is how staff treat there customers.

We love the Lounges. This Portsmouth branche lives up to our expectations. Lovely atmosphere, great food, great staff. Love it how you are in charge of your time, no rush, you can do what you like. Upstairs is nice and bright, downstairs cozy.

I am easily impressed because I love my food but I can honestly say this place serves the best steak I have ever tasted, quality meat cooked to perfection, not one bit of fat and certainly NO chewy grizzly bits. Extremely friendly, helpful staff. You can order by QR code on your table or go to the bar. I noticed a whole Vegan menu and Gluten Free options. Seating upstairs and down and outside on the precinct. Quirky decor with fancy lights, retro mirrors and pictures on the walls. Water Dispenser at bar and freshly squeezed orange juice available.

I love everything about the lounge! I come here, at least twice a week with my baby and each, and every time the staff are so wonderful and accommodating. The food is well priced and delicious, Amazing drinks, it’s open early till late with options of breakfast, lunch, dinner, Tapas and a range of alcoholic beverages, so whatever the vibe it’s great. They play great music and they let dogs in too which is a bonus! It’s also beautifully furnished and has me wanting to buy expensive vintage lamp shades and cool mirrors.

Very good restaurant for gluten-free and veggie meals. Orders have to be placed by app. Very clean restaurant overall. The only downside was the size of the meals regarding the prices taken for them.

This is a nice restaurant, very cutely decorated with a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The location is very central and the place is spacious. I like that they have a separate vegan menu with an extensive offer of foods. I tried the tapas dishes and really liked the guacamole, which was perfect. The bang bang cauliflower was nice but found it too greasy/heavy for my taste. The patata bravas is what I liked the least. They seemed like store bought rather than freshly made on the spot, I am not sure, but maybe because I just got back from Spain where I had really nice portions of patata bravas. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would endeavour to try the rest of the vegan menu in future.

Abit over priced should be in gun wharf, and the Carribbean curry makes no sense why cauliflower, that's not even Caribbean, I think almost boarder line insulting

First visit today , lovely friendly staff at palmerston road . Food was delicious . Had a slight issue but staff sorted immediately and couldn't do enough for us . The decor is beautiful and had a chilled out vibe and atmosphere . Will definitely return. Thank you ladies .

Visited early on a Sunday morning and was surprised it wasn't busier. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Had the large GF breakfast and my son had the sausage sandwich. Excellent quality food - very tasty. The large breakfast was massive and only just managed to eat it all - too good to leave. Will definitely be back for more. Excellent Gluten Free menu - loads of choice.

Had a wonderful conversation with jack who is always so lovely, chatty and helpful. We only had drinks this time but the wine selection is amazing.

Staff were incredibly rude to my friend on their birthday. Kitchen had closed at 9:30 despite the staff and the website saying they stop serving at 10pm. All round disappointing and not like the service and atmosphere we're used to.

Had a lovely experience, been visiting for a couple years now and it never disappoints, Jack was out waiter tonight and he was amazing! He really made the night the best! Highly recommend to anyone and will be coming back again soon!

Good sized venue, you definitely don't feel like your sat on top of other people. The weather was awful so they were slightly under staffed for the amount of customers. This didn't stop all the staff from having smiles on their faces and working very hard not to do the quality of service. The food wasn't great, the cakes were very dry and the scone was stale but the hot food looked gorgeous. The drinks were of a good standard and they are happy to adjust for milk preference etc. Overall lovely experience but disappointed with the quality of the baked goods.

Food is always good. Sometimes a bit expensive. But on the whole, you get what you pay for.

Very impressed. Visited with a friend who is coeliac. We were offered a gluten-free menu on arrival (which was much larger than many other restaurants) and considerable care was taken when taking our order. Nice food and generally good service all round too. Shame that the background music was loud but otherwise would definitely recommend, especially to those needing gf options.

I had the lamb shawarma flatbread, and it was delicious. The waitresses were very polite and attentive. My dog very much enjoyed the puppaccino.

First time visiting . Good service and food .

It was our first time to have dinner at the Panero lounge. We have been here for breakfast before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner didn't disappoint either. The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable. We all including the furry friend loved it. The menu is one of the most comprehensive menu you can find catering for all types of palates. But the items were not just there for the sake of versatility but tasted very good too, for example the Nasi Goreng. We ordered six tapas dishes and three main courses and 2 sides with a couple of cocktails and a few drinks and I was surprised at the fantastic value for money. The service was prompt and the staff were pleasant and responsive. A good place for all events especially if you want to include your dog in the guest list😊

#Vegan Food and #DogFriendly - We're off to a great start. Food Okay so all but one of the group are vegan. This place had a fantastic vegan menu not just the token contribution that most places offer but a vegan menu with the same or similar items to normal menu just "veganised". This makes such a difference because it means you actually have a choice. Service We arrived around 930 on a Friday morning and the service was excellent the place wasn't too busy and we had a good choice of seating. Once we decided what we were ordering we went to the bar to order it and the person taking the order was extremely accommodating and helpful by that I mean suggesting options on the menu and making sure everything was ordered. Atmosphere So the interior decor might not be to everyone's taste but we loved it it was extremely interesting to look at. It was very relaxing and we managed to spend almost 2 hours there chatting eating drinking et cetera. Dog Friendly Some places say they are dog friendly but what they mean is they don't mind dogs sitting outside this place is happy for dogs to come inside as long as they are well-behaved and don't go upstairs this made all the difference for us. This place was great so I've added it to my list of vegan Cafes and restaurants. I'm pretty sure I'll end up going here again. Update. Went again today repeated the same experience as the last time I was there. Food and Service awesome.

Lovely place, with good food and friendly staff. Prompt service. Only reason we marked atmosphere as 4star was because we dined at 10am and the restaurant was only half full, I am sure that if the restaurant was more populated we would have marked a five. Will certainly revisit

It is a fantastic place, you can come across live music every Wednesday as there is an open mic. Dog friendly is another good point. I love that there are so many gluten-free alternatives and that it's delicious!

Great New Years Eve drinks & burgers

Was my first time here today, we went as a family for the breakfast, we all was impressed with it, and great u can swap things on the breakfast as many places don't let u. Everyone was really friendly, staff all friendly, and like the fact u can sit where u like.loved the decor, very great place, glad we came there.

There was a sign saying wait to be seated, we were then told sit where you like. Are there any seats upstairs? Don't know, go look. The food took a long time to arrive, there was no beetroot in the beetroot salad, we weren't asked how the meal was. Looks like a nice place, but food and service is poor.

Service ran out of cutlery! Had ten minute wait for three sets then we were given two. Okay, they were busy. That'll explain why they forgot an extra egg on a big breakfast. On the plus side the food was good - when we were able to eat it.

4 adults 2 children, ordered food and drinks came to over £80 so at that price was hoping be nice, coffees arrived around 15 mins of ordering but still waiting for soft drinks so after 25 mins went downstairs and the tray with drinks on was just left on the bar. The diet coke was awful, asked to change it for another one but just as bad. Food arrived nearly and hour later and burgers say serves in brioche bun but they just came in brown bread rolls, mine had no onions or gherkins in and was cold, others food was overcooked and some cold, no one came to ask if everything OK. First and last time coming here. Maybe they had an off day.

A place with cosy, warm vibes. We tried desserts and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was lukewarm and didn't taste like chocolate. The desserts were alright. Carrot cake abit dry, brownie burnt on one side, but the torte was excellent. We were kicked out due to them closing, but they still had 2 tables sitting there. When I asked if we were still able to sit there, the lady said they closed 10min ago. When I asked how the other people were still seated there, she mumbled something through a smile which I couldn't hear. But I did enjoy the environment when we were seated

Popped in here on a Saturday afternoon, was looking for somewhere that did sandwiches / wraps kind of food. The food was lovely, good services and choice for a group member with tolerances. Will go back on evening to try the full main menu as the food coming out looked lovely.

Incredible place to eat. Came here for my birthday meal with my partner. I'm a ceoliac, so I was very happy with the gluten-free options. All allergy food comes with a little red flag on top, which really puts me at ease. Plus, the food was super tasty and hot and came very quickly. We had 2 lots of the tapas , wings were amazing! And the cheesecake to finish off was superb. You have to try the peachy keen fruit drink if you go there!

The atmosphere was impeccable, food was amazing and the interior is gorgeous! Lovely helpful staff. Definitely going back for drinks soon!!

I felt I was sitting in a Parisian cafe. All the staff were very good, they worked hard and very efficiently. We'll be back.

Me and my friend waited 30 minutes for our food to turn up. When the waiter carried both mine and hers up the stairs, we knew it was ours as i added halloumi to my fry up. However, he gave my friend her food then took the Fryup to a different table. I waited 10 minutes and still no food arrived so my friend asked a different waiter how long for my food. He went and checked, and said there was a system error, but they was making it. I knew that the man who brought my food over had given the fryup to he wrong table as i heard her say to her friend i didn’t order halloumi and they even sent the meal back. When he brought my friends food over, i said to the waiter I think my food was taken to the wrong table and he said no, they just ordered the same thing, he was clearly lying. I kindly asked if they could remake my friends food as it was cold. When he brought it back, you could tell that it had just been microwaved and you can imagine that reheated salmon and eggs isn’t very nice. My food then arrived without cutlery so i had to ask for and when he brought it over, it was dirty.

We went there for the atmosphere and it delivered on that. I think I expected more from the food

We host monthly events here, the staff is always very accomodating even when they don't have enough people on shift sometimes and they always go out of their way to assist us. I would say having worked in places like this myself before that management really should look at staffing more, both from the point of view of putting enough people on shift, but also rewarding the ones that do work hard to meet customers needs.
