Panda Noodle And Rice in Southampton

Empecemos diciendo que habría clasificado esto 4 estrellas, pero el servicio los decepcionó. Paramos en Panda alrededor de las 5: 15 pm para una cena temprano, ya que nos fuimos al teatro. Esta hora del día estaba vacía. Nos dieron la bienvenida y elegimos mesa. Se proporcionaron menús, pero el camarero no se ofreció a tomar pedidos de bebidas hasta que se dijo que estábamos listos para pedir comida. Pedimos House Mixed Platter, que consistía en algas crujientes, tostadas de gambas, rollitos de primavera, pollo satay, costillas decoradas con cilantro, pepino y zanahoria. Esto fue muy sabroso. Para nuestra red, pedimos pollo picante, pollo satay y arroz frito con huevo. El pollo Szechuan era sabroso, pero no tan picante y la salsa de pollo satay era mucho más delgada que la salsa encantadora que venía con los entrantes. Una vez que habíamos terminado, nos sentamos durante más de 10 minutos esperando a que se despejaran nuestros platos, sin embargo, la camarera pareció ignorarnos mientras pasaba por delante muchos ratos para servir a otros que habían entrado en el restaurante. I clearly ask for no pork in my special fried rice but there was pork in my fried rice. Also they have charged £13 for special fried rice, in the menu £12. And charged Special chow min £13 while menu price is £11. Scamming tourists.

Empecemos con lo positivo. . la comida es sabrosa y muy buena, Sin embargo, los negativos - queríamos patatas fritas de sal y pimienta con nuestro principal, pero nos dijeron que es un entrante y dijimos ¿podemos tenerlo con nuestro principal, salir con el pato crujiente como entrante. Ambas bebidas que queríamos en el menú, no estaban disponibles y me dijeron que es un menú de bebidas antiguas, mi amigo tenía pimms y limonada que también puede ser una pinta de limonada! Y no lo tomé bien, como lo suficiente en todo tipo de lugares agradables para reconocer cuándo se deben dar consejos o no. Cuando llegó la factura y se agregó el cargo por servicio pregunté si se podía quitar, para que me dijeran que no puedo. Dije que no es correcto, es un cargo opcional. Tuvo que consultar con el jefe y ambos me preguntaron por qué y yo les dije. Experiencia muy extraña. Así que aunque la comida era buena. Para mí el servicio es muy importante, no volvería

No he estado aquí durante aproximadamente un año y fue maravilloso. Estaba emocionado de volver como había sido tanto tiempo y qué decepción. La comida era horrible. ¡El servicio fue horrible! No me di cuenta en ese momento que había cambiado. Mi novio pidió sopa caliente y agria y consiguió pollo y maíz dulce. No dijimos nada como pensamos que era solo un error. Mi entrante de satay de pollo llegó unos 10 minutos después, aunque fue agradable. Para nuestro principal pedimos pollo kung po y carne de res con jengibre y cebollas de primavera. El pollo kung po era horrible, no como cualquier kung po que he probado antes, no puedo comentar sobre el plato de carne de res ya que no lo recibimos. El kung po llegó unos 5 minutos antes que el arroz, que también era horrible. Tenía un sabor muy extraño. No podía comer la comida. No nos quejamos ni preguntamos dónde estaba nuestro plato de carne, solo pagamos y nos fuimos. Si alguien hubiera venido a preguntarnos cómo estaba nuestra comida, lo que esperarías que les hubiera dicho. No malgastes tu dinero, una lástima que este solía ser un restaurante encantador.

Very disappointing and weird experience. When Panda noodle first opened we loved it because of the traditional dishes they had. Today we were given a menu that was not what we remembered. Turns out we were given the 'white people' menu (I asked this specifically and the waiter ashamedly said yes). We felt completely judged, the staff apologised but the damage was already done. They never had a 2 menu system when they first opened, we were always just given the normal menu with everything on it not just some redacted menu with the usual westernised rubbish you get in other restaurants. Shame on you for deciding we couldn't 'handle' anything more than a 'childs menu' and in future offer both menus to all customers.

The Xingzhou rice noodles are generous in portion and a bit spicy. The landlady is very kind.

Esta es nuestra segunda visita y nos pareció que la comida y el servicio era absolutamente brillante. La camarera era tan educada y con ganas de hacer el pedido bien. Los platos eran frescos e increíblemente auténticos. A buen ritmo y un buen menú variado. El equipo merece grandes elogios. No es muy a menudo que siento la necesidad de escribir una crítica, pero siento que este restaurante merece 5 estrellas.

Visited on the 10/10/2024. Early about 1630h. Nice quiet, clean place. Good service, the food was excellent, Singapore Noodles, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Salt & Pepper King Pawns, Fresh Orange Juice, Bottle Of Chinese Beer. Clean plates, lovely. Just over £40. Definitely worth a visit. I will definitely will be back.

Honestly couldn't fault it - service was brilliant. Our server gave recommendations and explanations on the dishes for those we were unsure on. Food was served hot and fresh and was so fairly priced! Around £40 for two people and we came away with leftovers! Will definitely be returning!

We had a lovely evening here tonight , once we had ordered the owner offered to change the sauce the green beans were cooked in so they had a different flavour to the aubergine we had also ordered. Lots of choice on the menu with vegetarian options clearly labelled. Good prices and very clean too. Definitely a place for a return visit.

Superb food and excellent service. The Kung Po chicken was the best I’ve ever eaten, crispy battered chicken in a beautifully spiced sauce with a hint of black pepper and crunchy veg. Very reasonably priced with most dishes around £9. We cannot wait to go back!

Didn’t know where to eat in Southampton and stumbled on this little restaurant. What a nice surprise. Really tasty food and great service. Lovely duck and tasty noodle soup. Definitely recommend.

Amazing food, super professional and polite team including the chef. Food is 10/10 and very authentic experience / setting. The food is actually priced very reasonably which is rare around Southampton. Good value, super fast service and friendly team. (Ignore my half eaten food was too good to wait) Will definitely be back soon!

They charged £1.50 for a tiny little chili oil. I would not mind paying if they told me that they charged and the price when I asked for it. But seeing it included in the bill kind of put me off.

It is such a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy some delicious Chinese dishes! We loved the experience, and we'll definitely come back!

Excellent food, customer service and atmosphere. Panda restaurant is a one of a kind place where all my culinary needs are always met. The place is run by a lovely couple who know how to run a great food business. Everything is fresh, super tasty and prepared in house. Their beef, prawns and fish are out of this world. I will never go to another Chinese restaurant in Southampton because Panda has everything I need, and even though I'm not based in Southampton I will be coming back many times in the future. Not only the food is exceptional, but the atmosphere and customer service has always been excellent. There is nothing they could possibly do more to satisfy me. I wish my home town had such a wonderful Chinese place with owners as passionate as the Panda restaurant.

Blimey a Chinese restaurant that cares, quick hot food delivered politely. Good sized portions, great value. Will make it a regular. One of the best Chinese we’ve tasted.

The food, service, everything is incredible! It’s great price for the food which is some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! I’m so grateful that I live close by as I often stop by and am always satisfied.

Simply stunning food, atmosphere and customer service. The waitress knew exactly what to recommend after I suggested duck - I didn't want anything spicy so went for the black bean duck. It tasted so fresh, soft, healthy and varying bits of delicious duck fat chopped to perfection! Slightly salty but portions are also very generous so I'll be coming back for my duck fix instead of ordering the unhealthy duck wraps

Very nice Chinese restaurant with a mixture of great items to choose from. The owners are very welcoming, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is a peaceful place to enjoy a fresh meal when in Southampton. Located just a short walk north of the heart of the city.

Great service and great food. The pork noodle soup was incredible, as were the gyozas to start with. The lychee juice was arguably the nicest we’ve ever had.

It was really disappointed with the portion and price. The food was just ok, and the staff were only checking in distance. One thing affected me the most was the automatic machine of room fragrance, which cause me bad allergy for the entire meal. There are also 10% service charge, it is just disappointing for a £20 pp meal. However, the environment is lovely.

Went for lunch today. You were greeted and welcomed as you entered the restaurant. Although not advertised online, there was a lunch-tme specials menu, with great amount of choice. There was something for everyone on the regular menu as well. The food didn't take long to arrive, and was hot (temperature), well presented and very tasty. I think it was good value for money.

Found this lovely restaurant by chance whilst going to find something to eat before the show at The Mayflower theatre. Lovely find, my friend and I will definately go back there next time we go to a show at The Mayflower. We had a lovely Sweet and Sour chicken it was served placed in a half pineapple and the pineapple had been used in the dish, really tasty. We had special fried rice and Beef in Black Bean Sauce, the beef just melted. All washed down with a pot of Jasmine tea. Lovely place, people and food. Kay and Lesley. Visited Wed 19/11/2022

Went at lunchtime and had their lunchtime menu of starter, main and drink for £12.50. Friendly staff, super quick service and food was piping hot. Food itself was decent too, will probably be back if I want something quick and easy to eat!

It’s a new restaurant at Bedford place. I went to try, they had a lunch menu, I ordered beef spicy Ramen with lemon tea and prawn crackers. Lemon tea was okay, the prawn crackers was very oily and I didn’t eat and Ramen was not very good. The Ramen noodles was sticking together!!! Usually Ramen have many different vegetables but it was only two pieces of lettuce and little bit spring onions there.

Awful experience. The pastry on the chicken dumplings was dry at the edges. The beef chow fun was utterly tasteless, and the beef itself was chewy to the point of being inedible. Didn't think it was possible to get a dish this wrong. Unable to swallow more than a few mouthfuls. I very rarely give bad reviews, but this was one of the worst eateries I've tried.

Looking for a Chinese restaurant we stumbled across this one while visiting Southampton. It is a new business, staff very friendly and welcoming. We tried Japanese seaweed which was delicious and fresh, salt and pepper king prawns which were great, chicken dumplings were spot on, Thai style sweet and spicy noodles which were yummy. Pork loin and rice was tasty. Plus other dishes.Very good meal and all four of us were happy. My only criticism is that from the outside the restaurant doesn't look so warm and inviting, perhaps needs darker colour or some mood lighting, however once inside it was fine.

This is a new place in town and from the outside looks great. The menu seemed great too. I ordered some Cantonese duck and rice and was hoping for the real deal! Disappointed big time. Duck was dry and over cooked and not at all authentic. I barely had two mouth fulls of my meal..the waiter asked me if I had any feedback for the kitchen. I was honest with him. Next thing a stagffmember comes out of the kitchen to ask what's wrong I explained that the duck was not authentic and over cooked and lacked flavour. There wasn't a helpful response so I asked for the bill and left. The waiter apologised to me however it wasn't genuine as I paid for a meal I barely touched and no solution was offered ie a different meal or the actual meal I ordered. I left the restaurant hugely disappointed and am now enjoying a great meal in a restaurant a few shops down from them.

For quality food, especially their starter Aromatic Duck, which is a meal in itself, the food is extremely good and reasonably priced- staff pleasant and helpful and whilst the décor is not outstanding so many of my Chinese students go their, tells you everything- in a word excellent- Prof Colin

The food was nice, though nothing to special for a Chinese place, and the staff is very friendly. The kitchen was however very very slow, we had to wait over an hour for some food to arrive; quite annoying. Even though staff did apologise this is not acceptable.

Great food and service. Full of Chinese folk, which must be a good sign it's authentic! Certainly wasn't the heavy in MSG stodge fest I've encountered elsewhere.

This is a fabulous restaurant whether it's for the £5 lunch menu or a full evening meal. The food is tasty, well cooked and served with a smile. Friendly stafff and a pleasant atmosphere all add up to a great meal every time.
