Pancho’s New Formby in Sefton

Food was actually alright but would never return the man who works there is rude and needs learn keep his opinions to himself absolutely ridiculing me for being a young mum. Won’t be back and I’d suggest other people don’t either

Great tasting fish and chips, a really generous portion too which I was sure that I'd never finish; however it was so yummy that I did! Friendly service too, on the top of my favourite list of local chippies!

We had a couple of fish and chips yesterday evening. Sadly it wasn't an experience I'll be keen to repeat. The chips were OK but very greasy. The fish were OK - moist even if not very tasty - but the batter was soft and bland with an unpleasant 'overused' taste which suggests that the oil wasn't very fresh. The worst of it was that the fish was also oozing oil and the batter was nowhere near crisp enough. Our onion rings were rather flavourless and had the same soft, non-crispy batter. The shop staff were friendly and helpful and offered a free chop suey roll for my vegetarian daughter to try. Unfortunately this was really not enjoyable either. I don't feel happy leaving a negative review. I want new businesses to thrive. But Formby actually has a couple of fish and chip shops which do really Good, ungreasy, crisp and tasty food. The problems I found could be corrected with a combination of market research (like finding out what the competition are getting right), better ingredients and better cooking. I look forward to trying this fish and chip shop again in a few months to see if things have improved. Until then I can't recommend it. Please note that I'm only commenting on the food I ate. I can't make any comment about the quality of their many other menu items.

Wow, best kebab I have had in a long time, tasty, juicy and so much meat!! Great value for what you get! Will definitely be going back. Staff are really friendly too 👍👍👍

Really disappointing after hearing good things about the "plaice". The pizza was inedible as it was burnt on the bottom and all you could taste was burned crust. When you say that the salad was the best part of a kebab, it's not good. The donner meat was very greasy and some of it had a leathery, dried out texture. It had not been cut from the kebab when I was in the shop (which was not rotating and cooking, so I've no idea how long the meat had been lingering). The pitta bread was slung on the top of the carton and was dried out, falling to pieces as soon as you picked it up. At last the chips were good.
