Panasia Thai Oriental Restaurant in Bath and North East Somerset

We stumbled upon this place on a rainy afternoon and decided it was a good time to have lunch. The decor was lovely and the service excellent. I had Teow Pad (Crispy Pork Belly with Egg noodles) and partner had Kang Panang (Chicken cooked in thick coconut milk with fresh chilli. Both were delicious.

Food is very delicious. The taste is real thai food and big portion. If you come to Bath, I recommend you to try and you gonna love it!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice looking restaurant. Overall the food was tasty. My parents and wife seemed to enjoy their meals more than I did. Though all agreed with reflection on the price of the dishes had hoped it would have been tastier.

We ordered takeaways from Charm Thai on the basis of previous excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. The online order was simple to do and the service was very quick. Portion sizes were generous and the food was fresh and delicious. Staff were lovely to deal with and even provided us with free soft drinks each. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend to others.

A lovely authentic Thai meal enjoyed here. Have been to others around the city, and came to here as it was opened on Monday. Just a little trek from the main centre. The amount of 🌶️ one can tolerate is subjective lol. Lots of variety on the menu, just choose to suit or ask for more/less. Service good and atmosphere pleasant.

Absolutely the best Thai food in Bath. Eaten at a few Thai restaurants in the area and this is undoubtedly the best. Rest ingredients, busting with Flavour and great portions.

Excellent Thai food full of flavour. We dined here twice during our 5 night stay over Christmas. The food is truly authentic - sometimes spicy so make sure you ask how spicy certain dishes are - they adjust according to your preference / tolerance. Helpful professional staff. Highly recommended.

Amazing AUTHENTIC Thai cooked here! I was visiting this restaurant with my Thai family, the food was fresh, and the taste was very yummy. Everything just reminded me of Thailand. All front and kitchen staff are Thai citizens, and they just confirmed to me about the real authenticity and the spicyness of their food, and it absolutely TRUE!! Very very disappointed, went in with High hopes after reading the reviews, and can honestly say from someone who eats Thai food a lot , the flavours here were so underwhelming. Thai food should be fresh , flavoursome and exciting, this was dull , and nothing came popping out at you like good Thai food does . And the spare ribs in red wine I will add are definitely the worst portion of spre ribs I have ever tried , they came out cold and what bare meat there was attached to the bone was chewy. Fried Gyoza were really good this is what saved Charm Thai from a 1 star review

Fabulous food and service thank you for your hospitality. We had originally booked Miller and Carter but were pleased we decided to come here instead.

We visited Bath last week for the Christmas market’s , walked by Charm and managed to get booked in for the evening. Starters were delicious. I had prawn pad thai and my partner a curry for mains, both were equally as good. Friendly , accommodating staff. Would definitely visit again.

Wonderful food, excellent service, what’s not to like. This is a small but really great Thai restaurant. Really authentic Thai food with all the favourites but some unusual dishes as well. We had the old favourite green chicken curry which was superb plus their number 9 duck noodle dish was out of this world. They do the same dish with pork belly which we will have to return some day to try if we ever return to Bath. The choice of wine is not extensive but the Pinot Grigio Rose was very good.

I am Thai and this is the best authentic Thai restaurant in Bath. I have been travelling to the UK for couple weeks and visited Bath for a day trip. This Charm Thai Restaurant is above the standard of Thai food in the UK, very tasty food, authentic, fantastic atmosphere, clean facilities, very fast and friendly service. I feel so please for any Thai people who live in this city to have very good Thai catering near by. I would recommended this! BRAVO!!!

Wonderful food and great atmosphere. We tried dishes we have never had before and shared, they were all fantastic. Dinner for three with starters, mains and service charge was just under £90 I highly recommend this restaurant

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after a day of shopping, were greeted at the door and shown to our table with no booking.The restaurant was immaculately clean and fresh, covid safe and a good temperature.The staff brought us the menus but gave us time until ordering our drinks. Such a great selection on the menu, service was faultless, prompt and friendly and staff knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients. Having been to Thailand, this food was up there with some of the food we ate, so authentic and fresh.We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to everyone.

Really disappointed with takeaway, starter fish cakes were totally inedible, one bite and then straight into compost bin. So rubbery that I’m not sure they will compost down. Remainder of food Luke warm served with over cooked rice. From dispatch of restaurant to home nearly 30 mins with no way of keeping it warm - inevitable no heat. Really disappointing.

These days you have to take what you can get, especially if you try to book only 24 hours in advance for dinner in a tourist town at half-term. The fact that this place was one of the few still with availability perhaps tells its own story. The food was fine but pretty much as you would expect - nothing fancy or innovative, and you’re not paying enough to expect that. But whatever you do pay, you do expect the loos to be decent and not to have a drunk slumped, barely comatose, across his table behind you, as his partner ties to get him home.Other reviews suggest it’s the best Thai in town and maybe it is. But if that’s the case I’d be looking for another cuisine, if you want anything above the ordinary.

Quiet, understated but heavy on the food quality. I like Thai food - and this place is definitely in the top sector for quality and flavour. Quiet, attentive service. Simply delightful.

...I’d be back in every night to go through the menu. As it was I could only choose one, so had the Red Duck Curry. The flavours were beautiful, not too heavy. The veg was slightly crunchy rather than soggy, and the duck melting.The service was relaxed, but efficient and nothing seemed too much hassle. Tables felt well distanced from each other. A lovely meal all-in-all.

Made a booking for us to eat in. When we got there we're told no, there was no reservation made. Showed the phone number and time of call. Then we get told they are fully booked, they couldn't seat us and it was blamed on a 'new' member of staff. Yeah right, at least if you muck up take some responsibility for it and don't try that tired old excuse. Thanks for wasting our time. I'm sure the food is lovely, if they don't mess you around trying to get in there in the 1st place and you actually get to eat it.

we have just returned from our meal at this restaurant and I have to say it is the nicest Thai we have ever had. Also, the staff are so friendly and kind, explaining the menu to us and making recommendations. We live in Birmingham but will definitely return if we come back to Bath.

The waiter that served us was attentive and polite. In regards to their safety measures all staff were wearing face shields and the waitor was very diligent when ensuring that all customers partakes in the ‘track and trace system’.The service was very quick and the food was of a great quality for the price! The view out of the restaurant was lovely and the restaurant was quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend!

During lockdown we have had a number or take outs from Charm, and every time the experience has been excellent, from using the online ordering service to the delivery being prompt and service with a smile. Food is tasty and really good value. Well done to all at Charm, a lockdown life line!

We live in Bath and this is one of the best take-aways we have had! Delicious food, excellent service and charming staff. The Thai Green Curry was fabulous and can thoroughly recommend. It was a treat to not have to cook! We will definitely be regulars here and can’t wait to ‘eat in’ when they reopen for diners.

We visit Bath a lot & ALWAYS visit Charm as it’s definitely our favourite restaurant!! We visited for my birthday and ordered so much food, we all picked at each plate and it was lush!! Everything was absolutely delicious- the duck, beef, pork, squid!! I recommend this restaurant to everyone and every time we visit Bath I can’t wait to get back & try more!! The staff are very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us! The atmosphere is lovely, so relaxing and the lights are beautiful! We can’t wait to visit again, we will be back very very soon!! I popped in here on a very wet early evening. It was very quiet but the service was friendly and efficient. The menu looked so tempting that it was difficult to choose one dish. The starters of chicken satay skewers and dumplings were tasty and whilst not huge were more than enough. The mains were a generous size and were delicious. An earlier reviewer had commented on there being no children’s portions and this seems to have been rectified as I spotted a separate children’s menu which included several dishes. A lovely meal

Went in for lunch midweek and we were - amazingly the only one in - but we were well advised on choice by the waiter and my wife's mild curry was superbly tasty and my hit one was delicious too.

My husband and I really enjoy Thai food, but on this occasion we did not taste any of the flavours we love. The food was bland, the prawns were gritty. Not a pleasant experience.

Stumbled across this restaurant when we were at the Christmas markets in Bath. There was no one in the restaurant to start with so relied on the reviews. They were not wrong. Food was delicious and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The restaurant was very busy when we left. Would definitely recommend.

I went for a quick lunch by myself, and ordered tom yum noodles soup was so Yummy!! And Thai tea for a drink, highly recommend, staff was very friendly and helpful definitely will back again.

Restaurant looks lovely from outside so hubby and I went in,hoping there was a free table. We were shown to a table but after about 20 mins we called a member of staff to ask if we could order drinks. Again a long wait. I ordered white wine but they brought red wine. We ordered starters and main to come out together. We seemed to be waiting a long time .... Almost an hour. We asked a member of staff to check on our food. After about ten minutes he brought us the bill. We explained that we had not eaten yet. We called another member of staff to explain but she disappeared ☹️ we called the member of staff over as she seemed to be in charge. She looked surprised that we had not had our food. She said ours would be next. Out came my spring rolls. I bit into it and it was frozen. We called staff over to explain. Our mains came out, no sign of hubby's starter or my reheated spring rolls. Called the same woman over. She apologized. Mains finished then starters came out and they were hot. Food was ok apart from frozen spring rolls. Terrible experience. Don't go there.

As a couple not really used to Thai food this place was by way of a bit of an experiment for us.

We dropped in for dinner on a rainy Friday night and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. The Pepper Squid starter was a particular high point, and all of the curries we had for our mains we tasty and authentic. We will be back.

Dined here with 7 friends on a Saturday night and had an excellent experience. The food is excellent (would highly recommend the pepper squid starter and the curries). The staff went above snd beyond for our friend's birthday, making the occasion really special. We'll be back!

This is the second time I've ate here both times food has been really tasty and the service extremely friendly and helpful! They will help you choose if you can decide what lovely meal to have. Portion sizes are good! Both times we walked straight in and got a table which is fab! I guess its still a little unknown as I can't imagine why else it would be quiet! Lovely place to eat! Highly recommended I'll be returning.

The decor it great with a mirrored wall with golden carved figures in front makes you feel like you are in a Thai Hotel. The service was good but the portions of the starters were small and the Pad Thai was bland bland bland. Slightly disappointing.

Meal was fab, and staff lovely, on Saturday night, but very disappointed to see that in 2019 this restaurant is still using disposable plastic stirrers, plastic wrapped sweets, etc. It's an easy change to make to cut out this sort of wasteful plastic. It just seems so lazy and outdated to not do so. Come on Charm Thai, you've got to do better!

Almorzamos aquí porque nos encanta la comida tailandesa y no había estado aquí antes. Los platos eran deliciosos, frescos, fragantes y auténticos. Sin embargo, la factura fue bastante más alta de lo que normalmente pagaríamos en otros restaurantes de Bath que conocemos, y las porciones son más pequeñas.

Los platos eran auténticos y sabían recién preparados. El personal fue servicial al proporcionar platos para compartir un plato adulto más grande. El ambiente era tranquilo y relajante y, a pesar de no tener una reserva, nos asignaron una mesa con bastante facilidad, incluso a la hora de la cena. Nos cobraron 50 p por chile picado en salsa de soja (que acordamos) pero sentimos que esto era innecesario dado el precio de los platos principales.

Hemos visitado Charm Thai muchas veces ahora que nos encanta el restaurante! ! Nuestro último viaje fue en enero para una comida de cumpleaños que fue increíble como de costumbre. La comida es tan buena que siempre pedimos tantos platos! El personal también es increíble, muy amable y servicial. Cuando vamos a Bath, llamamos a este restaurante y siempre estamos muy impresionados con la comida. Tienen un gran menú que es muy fácil de leer si no estás seguro de qué platos son. ¡Es un lugar que debes visitar si disfrutas de la comida tailandesa! Estamos planeando volver a visitarnos en los próximos meses, ¡muy recomendable para todos!

Visited Bath on a bank holiday weekend and decided to eat here without making a reservation. The whole place was busy but they were able to accommodate us as we were only a table for two. The service was very slow due to how busy the place was and some crackers we ordered got forgotten about (which we never got charged for). The food was good quality but I’ve eaten at many Thai places and this was probably the smallest food portion based on cost I have experienced.

Pleasant staff and very tasty food. Found this as walking by, liked the menu so decided we would give it a try. Ordered three different meals, came very quickly and really tasty too. Lunch and alcoholic drinks for three people for around £40. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

¡Absolutamente me encantó la comida aquí, y la señora que nos servía era tan dulce! Sin embargo, había un extraño olor a humedad y las mesas no estaban muy limpias, ¡también los baños eran desagradables! Sin embargo, la comida fue impecable, ¡uno de los mejores curries panang que he tenido! Vergüenza por el olor y la limpieza, de lo contrario sería 4/5 estrellas!

We have visited this place a few times now. Staff very nice food served quick and tasty. Good value for Bath and great location. If you want a nice meal not in a chain then give this a whizz.

Went for lunch, ordered prawn crackers but they never arrived, one waitress doing everything so a little slow.

Today I ordered take away. A new menu was a small and a quite complicated. Dishes was small but with a big portion of rice, dry rice. Not good.

I had a massaman curry and sticky rice which were delicious. However my boyfriend was very disappointed with the portion size of both his starter - squid, and his pad thai, he is a big guy but those portions would have been small even for me.

We stopped in for lunch when visiting the city. The service was slow to start because there was only one waiter. The decor is very traditional. The meal was excellent and we would probably return.

Had dinner here and we both enjoyed the food it was good but not great. Service was good and nice comfy decor. I would probably have marked it higher if last week's Thai wasn't so good.

Mientras escribía el título de la reseña, me di cuenta de lo mucho que este restaurante era una broma. Mi hija y yo nos encontramos con mi cuñado y mi cuñada para una comida tranquila. Todo era normal desde el principio, aparte de que al camarero no le importaba mucho escuchar las comidas, luego el canto comenzó y la música de la casa se escuchó aún más fuerte. No nos podíamos escuchar, así que le pregunté a una camarera si una de las fuentes de música era rechazada, aparentemente había un karaoke privado en la escalera que todo el personal pensó que era muy gracioso. Como todavía estábamos comiendo nuestras comidas, no tuvimos más remedio que aguantar. en ningún momento nadie se disculpó ni ofreció ningún descuento en una factura exorbitante. No volveremos y, en una ciudad llena de excelentes restaurantes que compiten por negocios, esperamos que se den cuenta de lo que es clasificado como divertido y lo que es inaceptable.

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Na veel twijfel over waar we zouden eten, toch onze keuze laten vallen op dit restaurant. Wordt ook veel bezocht door Thaise mensen, hetgeen iets zegt over de smaken. Heerlijke en eerlijke gerechten. Vriendelijke bediening, goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

I made order on Deliveroo. A very poor quality and a small portions. A big difference between quality of food in restaurant and take away order.

Scoured trip Advisor for hours during our family trip to bath, this place seemed to tick all the boxes. Restaurant was close to empty on arrival at 7:30 which for me had alarm bells ringing but hey it was a Wednesday .

Had dinner there after reading plenty of positive reviews on tripadvisor but we were all left extremely disapointed and feeling robbed.

I bought this course as a birthday gift for my husband and we loved every minute! Our host Ont was friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the art of cocktail making. During our session we made 3 cocktails each, benefitting from the many tips and examples given to us. I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys cocktails and wants to learn more about creating them. It was a great way to spend an evening, we ate in the restaurant after our session and the food was delicious. Thank you for a memorable experience.

The food was all super fresh and really authentic flavours. The massaman was probably the best I’ve had outside of Thailand and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely go back.

Never had such flavourful pad thai, pineapple fried rice and tom yum here in the UK as those sold here! All the dishes were rich in umami flavour and a large variety of ingredients were used. The dishes were definitely worth the price paid. The Chef has put an impressive amount of effort into the preparation of the food!
