Really good food , very tasty , generous portions and a really nice family running it , we run a local pub and will be recommending this place to our guests :)

Food was beautiful and very reasonably priced. Wine was around £18 a bottle. We ordered a mixed starter to share which was nicely presented and to follow we had korma curries which were tasty and both well filled with chicken and prawns. Service was friendly and attentive and we would definitely recommend and return.

I was staying in a cottage around the corner from this place, so gave it a try. I went for a take-away, partly because the place was deserted, and it would have felt a bit weird sitting in. However, the food was excellent. I love Asian food, but never go for Indian/Bangladeshi, as the restaurants in my area are not so good. The food from this place was exactly what I wanted, and reminded me of the top-quality curries I used to get when I lived in Birmingham. Absolutely bursting with flavour, and good sized portions. Would definitely recommend this place to all curry-lovers.

After considering where too go for an Indian takeaway we chose panacea in rocester And we’re not disappointed,all food turned up hot,tasted amazing,. That good we went a second time,and the result was even better. Abdul delivered with a smile and big thank you. Can’t wait for our third visit I merlin court … Uttoxeter 👍

Outstanding!! Myself & partner had decided after a long journey we fancied a curry! This place is unbelievably amazing! As a manager of an indian restaurant I have never come across another place I’ve enjoyed as much as I have tonight! This place is the real deal. Staff was very friendly & hard working too which was a bonus all round! Will definitely be back when this way if we don’t make it back before we leave.

Had a few nights stay in Rocester, so decided to have a curry and at only 80m away from the town house we stayed in so we couldn't say no. Open and quite bright, maybe a little too bright for a restaurant ? We were going to take a bottle of wine but found out it was a licenced place. Had a beer, chilli curry, keema naan and rice after popadoms and dips. All cooked well, but my mate said the plate could have been warmer he was served on ? I was given a plate to eat from and served my curry in a bowl, which I thought was a little over the top and would have prefered a metal skillet, or bowl to eat from. Food was warm enough anyway and we both enjoyed the food. fter the meal we finished our drinks and spoke to all working that night as they came out occasionally, so a sort of great family show and nice to see who cooks your food etc. We may try and stay close by later this year and wouldn't hesitate to go again

I am from Birmingham and stopped by to eat at panacea. All I could say is that the owners have really taken care with customer service and the food was absolutely amazing. I was recommended to try the new dishes that is not yet on the menu, these dishes really had appeased my taste buds to another level, all the food came out on time. I loved the ambience of the place. Definitely worth a visit again.

We tried Panacea again after a few years but it was a mistake. My phall was not hot and way way too salty seems like a full salt cellar was thrown in. The keema nan had a thumb size bit of keema in and was to salty again. We also had a garlic nan which had next to no garlic in it. The popadums were burnt the onion salad was not fresh . Needless to say I threw over half of my meal away will not use this takeaway again very disappointed

Tasty food,fantastic service and very good value,highly recommend, I had the chicken Jaipur which was one of the curries I have eaten and if you like your food hot have the bullet naan, service was really good both staff attentive and went the extra mile

This was the worst meal I’ve had in years. The service was terrible and when we eventually got our main meal it was Luke warm and the curry’s were mixed up. There was no offer of compensation. When we were leaving a person emerged from the kitchen giving us abuse.

Best Indian I have had in ages. Large portions, good value, ready for collection when arranged. Got it when visiting Alton towers- just wished there was one as good near where I lived!

Fantastic meal Sunday evening. Wasn't sure when we arrived, but was soon made welcome. Enjoyed some great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Just what was needed, thumbs up from everyone.

So my wife and I were on our way to Tissington for the weekend and due to it being late decided to stop off on the way. What a perfect find! On first view, the adverts online don't look overpy welcoming and the restaurant itself isn't typically what you'd expect but you absolutely must go here if you like Indian cuisine (I mean proper Indian food, not chicken tikka massala!!) We walked in to a very quiet restaurant and two lovely locals greeted us who were sat by the front door. The waiter came over and seated us and had a chat whislt we looked at the menu, something we love because it means they actually care! We chose our dishes and very quickly were served an absolutely fantastic meal! I chose the lamb naga whislt my wife opted for the lamb jaipuri. Perfect for anyone who knows their Indian food. The couple next to also told us to go for a roasted popadom! They were a taste sensation on their own! We couldn't recommend this place enough. Delightful service, friendly locals and great food that didn't cost the earth!!

Went for a change from our regular curry house, we should have stayed there !! Madras tasteless & watery chicken was dry,Chicken Dupiaza was the same, the garlic nann not very garlicky dry . The nice thing was the popadoms, the chap who served us was nice and polite ' . Safe to say we wouldn't go back

Visited here on a Friday night, where we were treating a friend to dinner. What a let down, the place reeked of damp, and really smelt. The waiter/barman said it was the heater, but it was musty and definitely damp. We almost walked out.

I was really looking forward to our meal here after all the positive reviews. The welcome was pleasant and service was good. It was therefore such a shame that the food wasn’t great. It was just tasteless. I’ve had many chicken saags and one of the things I have never said before is that they were tasteless. Hardly any spice, couldn’t taste the spinach. The tikka masala and dopiaza were equally dull and tasteless. Even the rice wasn’t great, I don’t know how you make it dull but they did.

not sure what to have for myself, as i don,t do indian meals a lot, but very helpful, the gentleman advised me what to order and the time as to when and go and pick it up, it was hot and tasty, would go back there.

The food is always great, never had any problems with the food, the staff are very friendly and the lamb kofta polak is a must try dish!

£2730 has been taken from my account in one day by another restaurant 'The Balti Hut'. I have spoken to someone at Panacea who did not care. Very suspicious how another curry house took the money! AVOID or it will be a very expensive curry. SCUM

Buena comida, el servicio muy amable y acogedor. Fue lo que se puede esperar de un restaurante indio.

Visitamos este restaurante regularmente y a veces tienen tiendas de aquí también. En realidad suele ser tranquilo para comer, pero no dejes que esto te desanime, la comida es de muy buena calidad y ya no visitar cualquier otros restaurantes indios localmente. El menú es variado con platos poco usual, además de una buena variedad de platos vegetarianos y pescado. El personal es siempre amable, atento y cortés.

An inexpensive restaurant with delightful service. We enjoyed our beer and food here enormously. This isn't a particularly attractive restaurant. It's old fashioned with plastic signs and a patterned carpet but the food and service more than makes up for that. Do try it. We're really glad we did.

My dad and I ordered a take away when in the local area. The gentleman who we chatted with whilst he took our order was very friendly and the interior of the restaurant was lovely. Our food was absolutely beautiful, very flavoursome with the right level of heat. We had the chicken tikka dhansak and chicken pathia and would highly recommend these. Reasonably priced and cooked fresh. Having travelled from Birmingham with a lot to compare it to we really highly recommend this restaurant.

Hi there we have only had takeaways from Panacea so far but I would expect the food to be even better in house (if that is possible). Our takeaways always come on time fresh hot and top notch for quality. The portion size is smaller than other places I have ordered from but this not a negative. Everything is eaten. A real treat to eat from here its good Indian cuisine. HTH

Needed a quick meal after a long drive - this was one of the best Indians I've had in a long time. Food was amazing and the price was good too.

Having been here once before and had a lovely meal my family and I decided to visit for a 2nd time. We waited over 45 minutes for a meal that could only be described as mediocre at best. It didn't look freshly cooked to begin with and my son refused to eat his after a few mouthfuls (unlike him). Within an hour of us being home we were all ill, I had to miss work the following day as I was so ill! 4 days later I still can't eat anything but toast :( it's a shame really as we've had a lovely meal here before and friends have said they've never had a bad meal. However after this occasion I won't be trying it again!

Passing through on our holidays and thought we'd give it a try. Very glad we did, the owners son who served us was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and very flavoursome, one of the tastiest I've had.(Don't be put off by the area).

Came here for a business meeting tonight and enjoyed a great meal as usual and was able to discuss our business in reasonable privacy. The staff were very accommodating to my companions diet requests. Only reason for not giving 5 circles is I wish they had some desserts on the menu.

What a lovely surprise. Although we regularly use this restaurant's take away facility, this is the first time we have eaten in. The staff are always very friendly and didn't disappoint tonight. We received excellent service all night and the food was superb. I can defiantly recommend Panacea for an evening out.

This gem is amazing.It's a little restaurant in a suburbia type village. First impressions may cause you doubt, but please don't walk away. We have dined/takeaway in many local India restaurants Inc those in nearby Ashbourne and Uttoxeter. Regrettably most if not all (Inc those with excellent ratings) use excessive quantities of salt/ sugar/ heat from chilli spice to hide poor quality food, and additionally many of those over price these poor examples of Indian takeaway. However, we found Panacea in Rocester , and having been to India, we know that a true curry should be full of intense flavour through spices, and not just heat, or worse, salt and sugar! Who wants a sweet nan bread. Bizarre! A Rogan Josh, a Buena, 2 nan breads, rice for £15, Inc the discount for collecting your takeaway. AND then they throw in free poppadoms and pickles. Amazing. bargain. How can they do it.We've ordered several meals now and on the one occasion that I had to wait, I was given a complimentary drink whilst I waited ( I chose a glass of rose) and then I got talking. Soon I understood why these guys knew how to cook, and cook so well. What amazed me was how they commuted over an hour from Birmingham, daily. Which was the reason why my order was delayed on that one occasion. The Lichfield Road had been blocked and they'd been delayed. They'd taken my order via call diversion in their car. They had allowed some time for the delay but had under estimated a little. No problem. I got to know these guys and my, what nice, genuine, hard working and committed genuine India guys. The food is not only tasty but the chunks of meat is surprising. Restaurants come and go, but please support these guys and you won't regret it. You'll probably get hooked, just like us.

Based in Stafford we followed Trip Advisors advice and tried Panacea having already tried most of the Indian Restaurants in Uttoxeter. We had a Chicken Jalfrezi, Tarka Dahl, Aloo Gobi Side Dish and a Chicken Rogan Josh and they were all delicious. The people of Rocester are so lucky to have this Restaurant on their doorstep. We will certainly be returning the next time we are in the area

Whilst visiting Alton Towers for the weekend (staying at the Alton Towers Hotel - please see my other review re my stay here) we opted to go out for dinner given that we couldn't get a table in the hotel until very late in the evening. Very glad we opted to venture out as this was a magnificent find!Ok - so when you arrive it doesn't look very accommodating, but don't let that turn you off. There's parking at the rear of the restaurant when you arrive, and you enter through the side which looks like you are entering a front room. You are then greeted by extremely friendly staff, I'd go as far as to say they were the most friendly I've experienced! Very attentive and there to ensure we were enjoying our meal.The food itself was equally as great. Menu is extensive and has all the classics, plus some chefs specialities, which I opted for. Delicious!Being from London, a meal for 4 with (a fair amount ) of drinks would set you back a good couple of hundred, but this only came to just over £100. Amazing!The restaurant is a short drive away from Alton Towers, so if you want to get away from the hotel for the evening, I'd recommend here!

The chopped onion pickle with the popadoms was dry and looked days old! The main course was swimming in oil and very bland tasting, was supposed to be chicken pathia. The naan bread was also dripping with oil, goodness only knows why! The Cobra tasted watered down. All in all very disappointing. Not been there for over 3 years and now I can see why! Décor tired, carpet dirty and stained, ev en has a wall socket which had burn marks all round it!

Another visit, another great meal, Panacea never ceases to amaze me. I especially like the sheek kebab starter and classic chicken tikka masala mains. Coffee afterwards and a baileys is a nice way to end the meal.

As regular customers, we can't recommend the Panacea enough! We used to live in Rocester but now we've moved away, we still travel back here almost twice a month for the indian! The food is consistently really good, which makes a change from a lot of other Indian restaurants. As mentioned in other reviews, the service and friendly welcome is brilliant! Highly recommended!

Came here with my partner on bank holiday. The food was amazing and up there with one of the best starters and chicken tikkas Iv had, and Iv had a lot! The main reason for leaving a review tho is because of the lovely staff here. They could not do more for you and we're so friendly! Couldn't recommend panacea more if your in the area!

This is by a country mile the best Indian in north staffs. The service is fantastic sympathetic and helpful. The owner used to live across the rd from us in Brum so he knows where we are coming from. Ie we know about the best curry houses in the country the food is subtle very flavoursome delicate flavours blend wonderfully the chef is a man of genius. This place should be packed every night. Rocester is next door to the world headquarters of JCB and this excellent Indian restaurant offers an alternative to pub grub or the full English at the local pub which has started opening at 0800 for breakfast. The service is extremely attentive and welcoming with a full range of Indian favourites on the menu. You can sup a lager while you wait for takeaway and chatter to the staff. Highly recommended.

Had a takeaway from here and the food was delicious. Eight of us had 8 different meals and everyone was impressed.

This place is really good, we have been coming here for quite a while now normal at least once a week for our curry nights. So far we have yet to have a bad meal, the food is absolutely fantastic! And the place does not deserve to be this empty. If I was them I would get a deal going with JCB this place would be packed out.

We went on Mon 7 Dec to celebrate a friend's birthday. The gentleman serving us could not do enough to help. He put balloons and trimmings up etc...nothing was too much trouble. The food was good, excellent choice and the birthday girls main meal even had a Happy Birthday written in sauce on the dish. It was her first visit to an Indian restaurant and she was very impressed. In fact we said we will definitely go there again

This place is a little strange. Firstly I want to remark on the food which is really good, so much better than the usual stuff you get in an Indian restaurant. Secondly, the gentleman who welcomed us was very pleasant and the service cannot be faulted either. However, the whole ambiance of the place is just not good. The car park is around the back and this was very scruffy indeed and does not create a very good impression, particularly as the front door on the roadside is blocked off and the entrance is around the side which is unlit......why? Inside the lights are so bright it's like dining in your grandma's kitchen when 'strip' lights were all the rage and frankly it was so cold we didn't take our coats off at all throughout the meal. Shame really because the food is good and I could tell that they really wanted to make a good impression, but with so much competition they really do need offer the full package.

Took friends here last night after telling them how good it is. It was even better than our last visit a few months ago. The food was amazing and beautifully displayed on the plates (not in bowls on plate warmers). There were four adults and four children in our group and the level of customer service shown to everyone was exemplary. There were clean plates all round and eight very happy foodies. As we chatted after the meal, we were asked if we would like a complementary brandy or baileys and the children were offered orange juice. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I would choose anything off the menu because I know that it will always be beautifully spiced and cooked to perfection. No more sticking to chicken tikka masala for me (although my daughter had it and said it was amazing!)

We were the only couple dining on a wet Thursday evening so as you would expect the service was good - once we had worked out how to get into the restaurant via an unmarked upvc side door. The meal was reasonably priced but being a big lover of curry I was a little disappointed with the food as I had hoped for better from what appears to be two polite and experienced hosts but it was good enough to recommend a visit if your passing.

Love the food here, a real improvement on the general level of Indian food in the area. I've had some very average Indian food around uttoxeter.The restaurant itself is a bit tired looking but the staff are friendly and always up for a chat. They pretty good at recommending choices if your not too sure and are great with the kids if your having a family meal.The Vegetarian menu is extensive and delicious, the vegetable rice in particular is great. Fish dishes are also good and apparently the chicken tikka massala is "the best" according to my 11 year old. All in all a great place to eat, and on a par with some well reviewed restaurants around the country.

Absolutely fantastic food. We had a shared vegetarian platter to start which was lovely and well presented. The mains were fantastic, cooked to the spicy hotness we had requested. Unfortunately couldn't finish the main (too full from the starter). Staff are always very friendly and obliging. Definitely somewhere we will visit again and again, its the best curry house around.
