Sadly this used to be a favourite cafe of ours, but no longer so. Visited with a friend for lunch. My friend ordered the pasta and it was nothing more than dried up mince with very little sauce, this had to be sent back. I ordered the Welsh rarebit, this was served on cheap sliced bread (didn’t used to be) and was very soggy and not very tasty. Felt the service was ok, but as busy felt rushed to leave. Such a shame as this used to be top notch food.

Quite good food, on the expensive side for a cafe, nice service, clean and safe eating. Breakfast had the ingredients but wasn't large as called. Single egg, sausage only, would have expected two on the main breakfast as other cafes do have.

Nice place to eat. Sta friendly but not over the top. Small menu but done well. Gluten free options. Outside seating for when weather is good. Parking good . Have breakfast then in the farm shop and then in the butchers. Not cheap but the quality is second to none.

I sat down at a table outside while waiting for my husband and dog only to be told off like a child for not using the front entrance. I was told there were other people queuing for tables ! This was not true as there were 3 empty tables inside and no one I could see queuing ! The man in question I think is the Manager, he was very abrupt and loud in front of the other customers . If I wasn’t so hungry after a long journey I would have left . This is not the first time he has been so bad mannered!!! When does he have a day off !

Pamphill Dairy is a delight. I shop there often for milk and eggs and other items in the farm shop. I do not know anybody at the Dairy so this is a totally unbiased view!! I live somewhat locally and ordered two Dorset hampers for friends whom I will be visiting whilst away from Dorset. Having collected them today I know they will be delighted with their gifts. A good selection, beautifully presented and service with a smile when I collected.

My husband and I eat at the cafe regularly and have always found the food wholesome, homemade, and the salad is excellent. An option of French dressing would enhance. Stopped by The Parlour Cafe as our usual Sunday staple Full English venue The Anchor in Shapwick was closed and i must say how impressed i was. The Parlour breakfast (full english) was awesome, lovely sausages, hash browns the best i have ever tasted and that black pudding (an extra but well worth it) was amazing, lovely atmosphere and very happy and helpful staff. My wife had the English Muffin (basically Eggs Benedict) and said the poached eggs were delicious. it was all very reasonably priced too which is a bonus. I simply couldnt fault it 10/10 The Anchor may have to share us now... :D

Used to be a favourite venue. Today, the breakfast was disappointing. The quality of the ingredients were always top notch, but unfortunately corners have been cut and in particular the quality of the sausages. Very average now and definitely no better than other competing venues.

We were delighted to discover this spot where we enjoyed a savoury cream tea ie cheese scones, served with cream cheese and relish. Well presented, fresh and delicious. We were able to sit outside which was a bonus. To be picky, we would have preferred it if the tea hadn't arrived well before the food but that's certainly not going to put us off returning.

Very disappointed with this place. We arrived at 2h35 hoping to get some lunch only to be told that they stopped serving hot lunches at 2h30. I explained that we had got lost , had a two hour journey back home and would be grateful if they could serve us just one ham, egg and chips. I was told that they had already switched off the fire. We only had a drink and noted that they were still bringing out hot lunches at 2h50! Obviously they couldn’t be bothered to go ever so slightly out of their way to accommodate a customer. Unhelpful staff whocould learn a lesson or two from a nearby farm shop/cafe we were lucky to find later.

We’ve been to Pamphill many times over the years when visiting family locally. The food is consistently good however our recent visit (Sunday) and our one last year the service was too slow. This time we ordered 2 creams teas and 1 kids meal. It took almost an hour to come. By the time it did our tea was cold so we didn’t have anything to drink with the cream teas. Next time we will stick to takeaway ice cream (which is excellent) on the picnic tables. The shop is also worth a visit. There’s a great kids playground so such a shame the slow food let’s it down.

Beautiful spot out in the country, not just a farm shop and restaurant but also a shop for pet food and accessories amongst others. Restaurant is cosy and with good friendly service. Very busy. We had the special, a chicken salad wrap and a side salad and chips. The wrap itself was disappointing, just too big to eat easily and the chicken was somewhat dry and tasteless. A pity as otherwise an enjoyable experience.

1st time here and my last. Met a very dear friend her for lunch Was sitting straight away with menus. Ordered drinks and lunch I ordered cheese on toast while my friend ordered a carnation chicken sandwich. When food arrived, it did look good Started when I noticed something in my salded a dead moth. omg 😲 I felt sick as it was on my fork. At this point, my friend went to counter gentleman came over. Apologies, took my lunch away and asked if I wanted anything else, which I didn't. I was very shocked that there was no real apology apart from not having to pay for what we didn't eat. Myself working in the catering industry, and I would have bent over backwards for that customer to return as it only takes one bad episode review to have a big impact on this sort of industry.

We have visited here a few times over the past couple of years - it's a really lovely setting and place to eat.....especially in the sun! However, I do think the food has gone downhill from the last visit a year ago. The menu seems to have gotten smaller (not sure if this is due to the fact it's only starting to get back to normal after covid) but there's nothing different on the menu like there was last year. All standard sandwich / jacket potato stuff. I asked our server if the brie and cranberry baguette was warm as I wanted the cheese to be melted. He said it was, but when it came out the cheese was hard and cold. The bread was warm so I had to try and melt the cheese myself! Not sure why you wouldn't put the brie under the grill in the baguette? It came with a side salad which had no dressing and I thought it would benefit from some coleslaw on the plate too. We were offered no sauces with our meals and there was none outside for us to help ourselves to. We were a bit disappointed.

Various people came together to create the vintage look that was wanted. Games were set up in the field for us all to enjoy. The food was provided by Lulu - an afternoon cream tea with sandwiches, cake, scones and plenty of tea. Absolutely delicious - the carrot cake was to die for. Later in the evening a BBQ was held with meat from the farm butcher, fish from a local fishmonger, and salads by Lulu. All the staff across the board were so friendly, welcoming and really helped made the day even more special than we could have imagined.I just want to thank you all for stepping in to an awful situation and turning it into a dream wedding reception.

Have been to this place before as location and shops are great. The last time the toast was burnt, but thought we would give it another try as things can always go wrong. We were so disappointed. We were there at opening time for breakfast and a number of people went in at the same time. As I was travelling back home after taking my mother out I didn't have a great deal of time so asked the waiter if we could order immediately. He was very polite and took our order for 2 cooked breakfasts. After 30 minutes they finally arrived but were wrong. I ordered fried eggs for both and no beans on either. I ended up with a barely cooked poached egg that left water all over the plate and beans. I mentioned it to the elder waitress and said I was having to eat it anyway due to the time, and all she said was 'thank you'! When we came to pay there appeared to only be one person who could take the money who was also taking orders for the kitchen so again we had to wait. It appears that this cafe is understaffed and all the kitchen staff too young, not wearing hair nets and perhaps not fully trained. That is certainly the case of the elder waitress who gave no customer service whatsoever and was more concerned with putting out vases on the table than us. This is so disappointing as the place is lovely, the shop is great and the staff in the shop could not be more helpful. If you are just having cake I think the experience would be better but I am sad to say that there are far better places around the area that are better so we wouldn't go back in a hurry.

I love this little place and beautiful location but the cafe is such a let down recently. There seem to be plenty of staff crammed behind a tiny(too tiny) serving area. Everyone is talking over everyone else and barging back and forth. The more mature member of staff is literally spinning in circles and doesn't seem to have a clue what is going on whilst the youngsters are dashing in all directions. Parts of orders are confused or do not arrive at all. It is chaos.Outside really needs more tables to accommodate everyone and there is plenty of space for them. However, the cafe seems a victim of it's own success and cannot cope with its increasing numbers.

The menu looked decent enough and after a walk in the nearby forest we decided to stop for some lunch before driving home. The service was mediocre, one waitress was quite friendly and our drinks arrived relatively quickly. Food however took ages, at first we were fine with this as we expected a fresh, homemade standard of quality.

A lovely little place, great cafe, farm shop, gifts and butchers. Butchers I have to say are amazing. They are so helpful and friendly and go out of their way to supply what you need.

I’m a regular at Pamphill as very local. Breakfast is always delicious and washed down with good coffee. Also like lunches, particularly the homemade quiche which never disappoints. The shop has lots of artisan goodies and local beverages, Cerne Abbas and Piddle, Jurassic and other beers, fabulous ciders, wines, mead and spirits such as Conker gin. Massive thumbs up to the butchery too, locally produced and beautiful presentation and not too expensive! Quality very good every time. Oh and Allen Valley milk from the vending machine is always in high demand for good reason.

I love Pamphill. Whenever I get back to the UK, I always go to Pamphill for lunch with mum, followed by a walk through the surrounding wood.

Popped in here for lunch whilst on a local walk. Staff were pleasant and took our order of two soups. We went outside and waited, and waited, and watched others arrive, order and receive their food. Went in after 45 mins and asked about our order, to be told it depends on when orders reach the kitchen. Clearly our order had been out for a walk of its own before reaching the kitchen. No apology, no “sorry for the delay” or it’s been a mistake etc. Soup came and was actually very nice, just a real shame it took so long. We live locally but won’t be back as clearly they struggle. Mind this was a quiet Monday.

Sat outside pamphill parlour with border collie after a lovely walk by river. My 18 year old queued for 15 mins to buy his mum a cuppa and a piece of cake. He reached the till at 2 mins to 4.15 to be told we stop serving at 4.15. what a disappointment. They could have announced this before he queued for 15 mins due to slow service. Shall not return

We come here on our way to Kingston Lacey, probably our 4th or 5th visit. Usually good. I like the mushrooms on toast which is good value at just over £6.

Called here for lunch after a visit to Kingston Lacey. This café is always busy as the food is really well cooked, delicious and plentiful. We had lamb shank with the mash and three veg. It was beautiful, the meat just fell away from the bone. We shall call again and try the breakfast. Staff friendly and obliging. Can recommend this to anyone.

The Pamphill shops are really lovely and worth a visit. The farm shop and cafe are open on a Sunday which is an added bonus. The shop sells a variety of unique products and food - many home made or local. We got some nice jams, meat, biscuits for our child. Reasonably priced generally... high quality so worth the extra pennies. Ample free parking. Other establishments on site, framers, hair dressers etc.

On the route of the bus tour. Loved the sandwich, new creation, Emmentaler cheese, and a ‘fancy’ ham. I loved it. Great cappuccino. Lovely bakery and a must-visit when you are in Poole.

I visited this establishment recently, the food we had was good, I definitely recommend the burgers, definitely better than your average run of the mill pub or bar.
