Was treated to an afternoon tea at De Beers. It was fresh, tasty, plenty of it. Top ups for tea. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend and have had many i would not!

Ironic that there are multiple signs about flagging allergies then you serve cheese to somebody lactose intolerant after discussing needs at the till. Not even poor... dangerous is the right word. Thankfully I spotted their error and didn't consume any . Refunded the meal cost but perhaps you should also have refunded my drinks given I sat hungry while everyone else at

What a treat at The Palm Tree Cafe. A birthday present voucher. Table beautifully set up with lovely china . Our waitress was a delight looking after us and made experience special. Sandwiches delicious catering for me on gluten free bread. had to bring some of cakes home as such a generous selection. Highly recommend for a special occasion or when you need a treat.Thank you De Beers.

Went in for breakfast on Christmas Eve 2023 as we couldn't find anything else open in the area...bad mistake. Entered the cafe and went up to the till where a woman with blonde ponytail was. No hello, smile or greeting for us. She obviously had family in the cafe and couldn't be bothered with anyone else. We asked for three breakfasts, she was very snappy asking if we wanted white or brown toast, then kept looking and smiling at the children she knew. She didn't say how much it came to and just gestured to the card machine. We took our number and sat at a table that wasn't reserved. It was filthy, I asked for it to be cleaned, that was met with a 'look' from another member of staff. The woman who took our money came over and said you can't sit here it's reserved ( it wasn't) and said you can sit at these over here. So off we went, no apology from her. The food arrived, it was a good breakfast, apart from cheap plastic margarine on the toast which was disgusting. We left feeling really fed up after being treated like we shouldn't be there. Merry Christmas to the grumpy staff ( apart from one girl who'd just come back from holiday who was cheery) the others have NO Christmas cheer at all. WE WONT BE BACK!!!

Came for Afternoon Tea and was amazed at the amount of food for 3 people. Best we have ever had and we'll worth the money. Food quality was also excellent.

26 of us turned up in coach for lunch, staff were unaware we were going. But the food, service and staff were excellent....Would definitely go again....

What a disappointment for the Wednesday roast. Everything was frozen, nothing fresh. Asked for gluten free, but still put a frozen yorkie and stuffing ball on my plate. Just hope the gravy was gluten free, or I could be on the loo all night. Only ate the turkey. Will not go back again

Lovely cafe friendly staff, tasty breakfast and plentiful. Can't wait to try the homemade bread pudding next week. Definitely returning.

Well I always enjoyed the food here, but today it was awful my cheese and potato pie was served in a cereal bowl on top of my plate, so sliding everywhere when trying to eat it, it was just mashed potato with grated cheese on the top, not worth the money, my husband chips were full of fat, obviously cooking oil needs changing, tuna and cheese panini wasn't warm enough and cheese wasn't melted, such a shame, as we won't return.

First time visiting here, also the last. Staff member ignored me whilst chatting to her friend. Another member of staff 'rescued' me and served me tea and cake. The cake had a long hair attached to it. Will not visit again, very poor all round.

We visited here today for the first time and it was lovely. We ordered a childrens meal, which was fantastic value at £3.99. It came as a massive portion of chicken nuggets, fresh chips and beans. I had a ham and cheese panini with chips, again really fresh and excellent value and we also ordered a tea cake. We had three drinks alongside the food and it came to £15 which I thought was excellent. The service was quick and the staff were friendly! We will definitely be back.

I do not like to leave poor reviews but felt so let down by my recent visit that I felt I needed to leave this review. Whilst the food is cooked to order and was piping hot the quality was not good. I ordered fish and chips and when it arrived the fish was very small and was the 'tail' end. There was very very little fish inside and what was there was hard and overcooked. The chunky chips were also slightly overcooked and greasy. Being charged £10 for this dish I expected better. My partner ordered chilli and rice. Plenty of rice but not much chilli although he said it was acceptable. We will not be going back.

Got the feeling that café was understaffed. You order at counter, get a number and they bring order to your table. Orders took some while to be delivered and staff seemed flustered and having difficulty tracing correct customers. Tables were not being cleaned. The coffee was acceptable as was cake and Ok for the price.

7 Ex Brintons friends met up for afternoon cream teas. Lovely fresh sandwiches and cakes. We could not eat them all so they gave us boxes to take home. Excellent value for money.

Had a really enjoyable visit. Fabulous selection of plants. The restaurant was lovely, we had a really tasty cooked breakfast,mmmm. Then coffee and cake which were just perfect. Great choice of food. Need to go back for lunch, they looked great.

Very busy when we arrived but tables cleared quickly as people left and I was particularly pleased to see them thoroughly cleaned before new customers used them .. Came her today for some lunch with my wife to find most tables reserved, outside tables that weren't occupied hadn't been cleared or cleaned. Customers having ordered and paid for their food walking around looking for somewhere to sit and the staff hadn't a clue where to sit them. Tables were reserved for 60-90 minutes later in the day. Staff were more interested in taking orders than helping the customer or cleaning tables. Had a few bad experiences here and gave it the benefit of the doubt as we were at the height of the pandemic but surely cleanliness should be a priority as we are still in a pandemic. Obviously not for this place. You will be glad to read I won't ever return here or recommend this place.

Needed somewhere to eat and drink on my way to a meeting. You pull into these places never knowing what to expect...........Initial thought oh well I am here now. Then it got better, lovely staff friendly and efficient, all the food was very well priced and really good quality. What a little gem and obviously good value it was like a social hub for the local area.

This is a lovely cafe .my two sisters treated me to afternoon tea for a special birthday with our little nephew .20 months old .the service was great and the selection of sandwiches and cakes were delicious .my sister's booked in advance and the table was laid beautifully ready for us .the staff were courteous .we shall definitely return .it was warm and cosy .well done de beers.thankyou

I visited today (28/3/19) with my two sisters & 21 month old nephew for Afternoon Tea. Our table was laid out ready with a high chair for my nephew. We had already been asked when we booked if we had any dietary requirements & there was a varied selection of sandwiches & cakes to choose from. The staff were very accomodating & always asked if everything was to our liking. It was a lovely afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. In addition to Afternoon Tea there was a varied menu including sandwiches & hot meals. We will definately return & would highly recommend the Afternoon Tea.

Called in here after visiting Barnet Hill garden centre which we found disappointing. De Beers was interesting, lots of little shops within the building and a lovely cafe. Good menu, we had a bacon baguette each, excellent value. Hope to return to try their Sunday carvery.

Went for a breakfast, and it was brilliant. The restaurant is very nice, and has a very friendly feel, this is made even better by the very friendly staff. Some table's have a little board on with a name and time, but you are allowed to use the table, but must be off 15 minutes before the stated time. There is a car wash firm on site, so we had our car cleaned, while we were filling up.

Always excellent service and good food here. Often go for breakfasts and have car valeted at the same time.

Just come back from an afternoon tea given to us as a Christmas present. The food was wonderful and the staff very helpful offering more tea and sandwiches so much so that we couldn't eat it all and brought some back.would go again

We visit this cafe and the Garden Centre almost every week.The food is top class and always piping hot , fresh and tasty.We have never had a bad meal in almost 12 months.Service is good and prices very reasonable. We came in on Sunday for the carvery as we had heard amazing things. The food was absolutely delicious, staff super friendly and would do anything for you. Would highly recommend this Cafe to anyone!

I popped in here on my way home from Worcester. The food was fresh and delicious (I ordered a cheese salad but asked for Brie instead of cheddar, not a problem). Vicky was particularly amazing, despite several unusual requests there was no hint of raised eyebrows. The cafe was busy and no wonder. I will definitely return.

Used this cafe frequently----usually good quality and service but this occasion served up awful chips---oozed oil or fat when touched.

Our first visit here looking for planters and ended up purchasing an antique side table. Lovely little independent shops within ga4den centre. Had a coffee and bacon sandwich in cafe, will be returning.

Family lunch on a very busy and hot day. My Aunt had a panini (brie and cranberry) and she said it was very tasty. It came with salad and chips and she struggled to finish it as it was such a generous portion. My cousin had the jacket potato with prawns which she also said was very nice. I had the chicken and leek pie which was OK, with plenty of chicken, but I was not too keen on the pastry, which had been "placed" on top. Interesting garden centre and an array of shops, especially the lighting shop, so it all made an enjoyable visit.

Visited with the hubby today for a carvery lunch and a potter around. Couldnt fault the service at all. Very busy lunch time but we were served quickly by lovely chatty staff who made us feel very much at home!! Nice clean table for us to dine at and one of the lovely ladies also brought me a glass of iced water as my tickly cough kicked in. Definately reccomend everyone to visit, you will find some lovely plants and treasure bargains in the center, and you will definately not be disappointed with the cafe, its menu and staff!!

Been driving past here for many years on the journey from the Cotswolds to Wellington in Shropshire. Yesterday we realised there was a cafe in what I thought was still simply an expert fuschia farm. Lovely, helpful staff in the cafe who were very knowledgeable about checking issues around needing to eat wheat free. Smashing all day breakfast with the husband particularly enjoying the black pudding! The bonus of this place was the whole shopping experience...all sorts of lovely and unusual things....we love all things rabbit and purchased a most life-like garden ornament sleeping rabbit to add to our collection...our real rabbits think it's for high jump practice!! We will always use Palm Tree now for our stopping off point mid journey. Many thanks to all the lovely staff in and out of the cafe.

Exceptionally good value for money. I love the decor it's really unique but more importantly the food is amazing. The portion sizes are massive and I'm always struggling with what to choose because there are so many delicious options on the menus. The staff are always happy and smiling and you can tell they love what they do. Can't wait to visit again!

We often centre our family get together around this friendly cafe... staff can’t do enough to help you and food and drink choices are fantastic .. staff are always on hand with a smile and recommendations for best cake goes down a treat with my lot xx thank you Vicky and Mary you never fail to deliver .

The food is extremely reasonable and most of it is quite good, but the place is quite dirty. There is often food on the floor and the cushion seats are disgusting with stains on both sides. Sometimes the cook comes into the cafe wearing a filthy apron it doesn't inspire you to eat. A lot of the time the staff will be talking to one another while your waiting in the queue, its such a pity because the food is not bad. Hygiene leaves a lot to desire.

De beers is the highlight of our day at work meg is the favourite waitress followed by a close second in Vicky we eat more here than we do at home. Thank you 5 stars

We visited for morning tea and were surprised that the marketing hype ("you will be surprised at the feeling of sitting in a conservatory  within a light spacious setting") was absolutely accurate!

We booked a table for 11 people for afternoon tea. They were very accommodating for a such a large party of people and we had plenty of room.

Called into the Palm Tree Cafe enroute home. Had the best breakfast and coffee which set us up for a long journey. Thank you to all the staff.

Tuesday is our shopping day and most Tuesdays we start with lunch at De Beers Cafe, but decided to book an afternoon tea for a change as they always look so nice. The table was beautifully laid with white tablecloth, pretty china and flowers. Vicky looked after us today and as always nothing was too much trouble, the staff are always so nice and friendly and although they are always busy they make sure everybody is well looked after. The tea consisted of sandwiches with lovely fresh bread and generous fillings which we chose previously, a variety of home made cakes freshly made that morning, home made scones with a choice of jam and clotted cream and unlimited tea or coffee. It is probably the nicest afternoon tea we have had and couldn't believe how much you get for the money. We have been going for many years now and watch the cafe grow and change and intend to keep going it is such a warm friendly place.

A lot of folk think it`s easy to throw some bacon and eggs etc on a plate and call it a `full English`, I assure you it isn`t that easy. This café have perfected their breakfasts ! Everything on the plate is perfect , all the ingredients are the highest standard. We have been going for our once a month treat for some while now and it just gets better and better ( if that`s possible )

We pre-booked our Afternoon Tea for 6 people. The table was beautifully set up, and a generous afternoon tea was delivered to the table. We had sandwiches, scones and an assortment of cakes, all beautifully presented on cake tier stands. The tea was served in China tea pots, with matching tea service. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We all had a lovely relaxed time, plenty to eat, and enough left over for doggy bags. It was incredibly good value for money. This was my first visit. I was very impressed and will definitely be returning. I give this top marks for service food and value.

We have been visiting the Palm Tree Cafe for a number of years and enjoyed every snack or meal we have had. We keep returning not just for that reason but also because of the exellent VFM and genuinely friendly though professional service we have experienced.

Never had a bad meal yet and never waited 1 &1/4 hours to have it served. OK they may be busy at times and a "slight" prod "might" be needed but don't let Janet t put you off. The staff really do try and do their best and a little banter along the way gets a response.The food is always good and more than enough for most people,it is also very reasonably priced (that's a bonus in my book).Nice to see they got a well earned 2017 award from Tripadvisor and no doubt (I hope) will get another one this year. Deserves to be tried and tested but I doubt if you will fault it. Probably does have WiFi but never had reason to use it. 1.00am to 2.00am "maybe"a little busy. so a little patience "maybe" required

Have been going to De Beers for a few years now. Always a very friendly and warm place. Food is great. Nice log fire in the winter. Recently refurbished and looking better than ever. No rush to eat your food. You can book a table. Good to browse around the shopping area. Sells allsorts. You can also have your car cleaned while you eat. Well worth a visit.

I would like to compliment the chef and thank the staff for the excellent service given to our party of four on our annual Christmas meal visit on Wednesday 20th December. Despite being very busy we were served promptly at the beautifully decorated table and enjoyed pulling our crackers. The meal was delicious catering for all requirements, our only worry was the very generous vegetable dishes that we could not manage and we're sorry to leave.A special thank you to the serving staff who remained cheery when so busy. We have already made a date to return next year. A very Happy New Year to all at De Beers, the best eatery in the area.

Been before but today was the worst experience we've had waited over an hour & fifteen minutes for food to be brought out when new orders were coming out to those not long arrived. Another couple waited 55 mins & others 45 minutes. The kitchen appeared to be in chaos, did get an apology & a voucher for the wait but still very disappointing today hence the low rating.

Having been asked to prebook our menu for the Xmas lunch to make things easier on the kitchen we assumed that the food would be served quickly. However this was not the case and we sat there for ages watching table after table being served with delicious food from the kitchen that they had walked in and ordered on the day. I understand you need to take care of your regulars but what I'm most annoyed about is having to prebook when we could have just reserved the table and ordered on the day. Our food was a big disapointment when it finally arrived. They are a good cafe and the food is normally good but I would suggest who ever had the idea for prebooking decides against it for next year as it doesn't work... Sorry won't be going back

The Cafe was very busy serving their usual Sunday carvey and orders from the main board as well as a special Christmas lunch. But the staff were amazingly organised with serving everyone with starters, mains, deserts and clearing tables.

Following our previous visit in September, our members opted to have our Christmas lunch here. The staff were excellent; nothing was too much trouble. The two course meal was beyond reproach. All of us haad a wonderful afternoon, so much so, we have booked for next December.

Excellent staff that provides the necessary attention to customer satisfaction, food is fresh and delicious! I strongly reccomend this nice place!

Called into today for a coffee and a piece of cake. Unfortunately the de-caf coffee was instant and not a particulary good brand. Needless to say, we didn't stay.

I have never given a bad report before, but I was so disappointed. We used to be regular customers but some time ago we felt the quality of service and food declined so we started dining elsewhere.

Excellent carvery also served on Wednesday. The weekly menu has a lot of choice as well as an all day breakfast which I found very filling, next time I will opt for the "small'.We have just booked for a Christmas meal , which is also very good value.The ambiance is lovely , and on a nice day you can sit outside and enjoy.

Went there Sunday with my granddaughter for breakfast, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was lovely and well presented. Will definitely be returning to eat there again. Have recommended to friends and family.

the all day breakfast is a big hit for brunch where we have got to know the friendly staff. child friendly atmosphere highchairs and baby changing facility. They also do fantastic carvery Sun and wed.

we went here to buy plants and ended up staying for lunch, the cheese and potato pie is lovely. we then had a browse and bought from the vintage and basket work areas. the clothes are lovely and different from the usual styles.we will be back very soon to eat and buy

While taking our grandchildren(4 & 6) apple picking cries of hunger cane from the back seat so I set my sat nav to find a local eatery but on route to the nearest McD’s we passed De Beers garden centre and decided that the Palm Tree café would save a 1/2hr. round trip. Big mistake. On entering the café seemed quite claustrophobic and slightly shabby but the weather didn’t allow the use of the outside area ( even the sign saying they were on TA looked grubby). My wife and l had a panini each which we found eatable (just) the accompanying chips were burn and tasted as if the oil needed changing. The children had fish fingers and chips, the chips being of the same poor quality as ours while the fish fingers as well as being over cooked had a centre of the greyish and most tasteless filling have ever seen, I have no idea what fish was in them but they were of very poor quality. But the worst was that as my grandson started on his food he found a dead fly among the peas. This was exchange after complaining, and to be fair his second serving did look slightly better. We left with a promise never to return and wishing we had made the trip to McDonalds who at least generally cook fish fingers that the children can eat.

Palm Tree Cafe was selected for lunch. Two of our volunteers had visited the cafe before and thought it would be a good destination for our September outing and we were not disappointed. Tables had been reserved for our party of 22. The food, sandwiches and cakes, was plentiful and well prepared, tea and coffee never ending. The staff was above reproach, nothing was too much for them. Thank you all for making our visit so pleasurable. All of our party had a lovely time, not a word of criticism. We are all looking forward towards having our Christmas party there.

I took my mum to the Palm Tree Cafe today, we had a lovely afternoon tea. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We have been to several places for afternoon teas but this is by far the best. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We couldn't ask for more and definitely will go back.

The Sunday Carvery is great value at only £7 and it's very well home made cooking. For an extra £2 you also get a pudding- so really there is nowhere else in the region for better value.

I thought the all day breakfast was reasonably priced but I wish it had been hotter not lukewarm.The staff were very friendly and the service was good but maybe extra staff at busy times would ensure that food reached the table hot.We shall call in again at sometime but whether we shall have food will be decided when we see how busy they are.
