What a totally wrong description of this restaurant that is only for hotel guests!! So this is solely to describe the wrong information!!

Delightful. I found this jewel using Google maps after leaving the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was a little confusing at first, as it was inside the Rembrandt Hotel. To add to the confusion, the actual restaurant was closed but the bar was open. I took my chances, and ordered fish and chips from the bar. The person who took my order was extremely friendly and I waited in a very comfortable chair at a small table. When the food came out, it was piping hot and looked marvelous. Looks were not deceiving. It was delicious. What's more, the chef came out to see if everything was okay about 10 minutes after I was served. I am from the United States and my idea of fish and chips was what they serve at Captain D's. In many ways, this was very similar. The battery was nice and crunchy and the fries were like steak fries, not potato wedges. The English peas were very tasty as well. I rounded out the meal with sticky toffee pudding.

We actually had dinner in the 1606 Lounge Bar near the entrance to the Palette Restaurant. The setting is excellent and has a calm and warm atmosphere. The staff are very professional and attentive. The menu, while not extensive, has a good range of choices. The wine list is the same. The. Food was very good. We particularly enjoyed the Sea Bass and the Eton mess. The four stars is because we were unable to dine in the restaurant itself.

Came here for dinner after visiting the museum. When we walked in, we were a bit confused. The restaurant section was closed, but the waiter said they were open for dinner and he sat us in the lounge area with small table with lounge-type chairs which were hard to maneuver, but it’s fine, it worked and we were hungry. The price point was very reasonable, given it’s inside a hotel and they even had a kids menu. The portion size was also very good. The kid’s fish and chip seemed like adult sized portion!

Went to have brunch with my friends and my friend has a severe nut allergy. The server didn’t reassure us with the cross contamination issue and went to get the manager. The manager said they wouldn't serve my friend food or drinks unless she signed a waiver to say if she has a reaction it's not on them??? As a food blogger I have been to many restaurants and I have never heard of a restaurant make someone sign something like this before. Apparently it’s because they’ve had an incident before. This is shocking and an appalling policy, you need to do better in your kitchen and preparation instead of getting people to sign things to say it’s not your fault - embarrassing. We obviously left.

Stopped by for Afternoon Tea after visiting the V&A. The staff were lovely, service quick and tea was hot. The sandwiches were fresh, but the scones, cake were not great. The fruit tart crust was soggy. Conveniently located just opposite the V&A. I should have ordered off the menu rather than doing tea.

Service was slow. Pizza was a frozen base with dry chicken and lumps of ham thrown on top. Similar to a one you make when young at home. The pasta was bland and boring. Brownie dessert was a microwaved cake not even close to a brownie. Service took so long we didn't have time to raise a query so just paid as had to be at the theatre that night. really ruined our trip.

AMAZING! The food was delicious, portions were huge, atmosphere was great, staff were friendly, honestly cannot complain about this place.

Great Breakfast and very lovely room to dine in. Service was wonderful! We enjoyed the choice of juices,eggs, breads , various meats and the coffee/tea. It was a perfect start to the day and was included in the room rate.

Very slow service at the bar as well as the table. The meals are expensive too, and not especially memorable. Desserts are small. Tasty steak but served with only little tomatoes and sauce, for 30£! I wouldn't go back.

I brought a group of 18 adults for a Carvery Dinner. We got a good reception from all the staff, with efficient and friendly service and a reasonably good carvery buffet. A very pleasing place and event.

We had a lovely meal at the hotel restaurant. The menu was like stepping back in time but the food was well cooked and the service was excellent.

Delicious and comfortable eating area!

The buffet lunch has been down graded surely - the salad starter was not too bad with a good choice but the main course was grim - an unbelievably small slice of lamb which would not cover a slice of bread - there was gammon which redembled a leather sole and as for the rest mushy vegetable - very poor indeed especially considering the price. As I remember it the lunch would consist of a decent roast beef with decent portions with other choices - on this recent visit it just did not come up to scratch at all.

We had breakfast here twice. Absolutely loved the full english. There are loads of other options too but since we were in the UK we had to go for traditional breakfast. The staff is very helpful and nice. Do pop in for a great meal.

Horrific from start to finish. We paid for the twilight spa package which involved a late night spa treatment & a three course dinner thereafter. The treatment was sublime and I really loved it. However, the meal afterwards was vile and the service was even worse. We arrived at the restaurant to literally nobody. Bar a few tables no one was there and there were no staff to greet us. We waited for almost ten minutes before a bald man showed us to a table. He provided us with menus for ten minutes and then took these away. We were a bit bemused at why you would do that. It was twenty minutes in until we had a reduced menu presented to us on crumpled paper. No drinks order taken for a further ten minutes. A total joke. We ordered a whiskey sour and a sex on the beach. The waiter asked my partner ‘what do you want in your sour? Martini or vodka?’ My partner was totally confused and assumed this accompanied their own sour so picked martini begrudgingly. Then, after a substantial wait the drinks arrived. Mine was essentially a warm fruit cocktail drink. Disgusting and warm. My partner’s sour was actually just a martini- so not what we asked for and disgusting. We returned this to the blonde waitress who kept apologising for her colleague who was either new or didn’t give a hoot. Truthfully it felt like both. The drink was replaced and was still quite poorly made and lacking in any finesse or flavour. At £10 a pop you’d think they would make some effort. The food was horrific. My starter of prawns and avocado was horrid- the avocado was nowhere near ripe and was almost impossible to cut. Prawns clearly from a jar or tin and in pre made sauce. My partner had houmous and found it inoffensive - store bought crap usually is. My ‘farmhouse’ chicken main was ridiculous. The chicken was so dry it was inedible. My partner’s veggie burger was much the same. Each course we left almost all of our food and not once did anyone ask or check how things were going. The waiter continued to be nonchalant and rude. The desserts were laughable. The fruit salad was blueberries and chopped apples. The creme brûlée had curdled. It was so thick it was like a wedge of cheese. I couldn’t stomach it. A further ten minutes of ignorance and we had to go to the front door to pay. The waiter split the bill without asking (and then refused to put it back together stating he had ‘split it now!’) - well no one asked you to, you total fool... The entire meal took almost 2 hours. We ate almost nothing and left hungry. We were still charged for our cocktails and can now see why this place is empty. It’s ridiculous! We would head to the spa again but have already told all of our friends to avoid this awfully managed hotel restaurant.

La stessa sala in cui, per gli ospiti dell'albergo, viene preparata la colazione, la sera diventa ristorante. L'ambiente è gradevole e spazioso ed il personale accogliente. Il menù non è molto vario ed è incentrato sulla cucina inglese. Prezzi in linea con i ristoranti della zona.

We had afternoon tea with free flowing prosecco. The prosecco unfortunately did not flow so we had to walk to the bar for refills. It did not seem that the staff were geared up for free flowing offers. Our disappointment evaporated when the food arrived (about 30 minutes after we sat down). We had the biggest table of really enjoyable food that we've had at any afternoon tea - apart from the scones which were like hard biscuits. We could not eat everything although we tried, desserts were delicious and the finger sandwiches were excellent - 5 different fillings and 3 of each. We will definitely go back again, hopefully the 'free flowing' will be the next time.

For a hotel restaurant this is excellent. The setting is fabulous as the restaurant has been completely remodeled. The choice of food for the different courses would please everyone. The food itself was well presented and delicious. The choice of wines covered the main varieties. The service was very professional. If one is staying in The Rembrandt (or nearby), then this restaurant is certainly worth a visit.

We have just returned from a very disappointing Sunday lunch. Our plate was filled with cold food....small offering of beef with cold roast parsnips, cold sprouts, warm roast potatoes and undercooked Yorkshire pudding. I left most of mine. Starter and dessert acceptable but for £30 the lunch was not acceptable. When you are a guest it is difficult to complain at the time when the manager asks is everything is ok but honestly the food on offer should have been checked before being served.

As starter i had a ceasers salad without chicken... just salad breadcrums and cheese... this turned out to be the best dish of the meal Main was fish... completely overcooked ... uneatable Desert was some industry cake For that all they charged over 50 pounds.. I ve eaten much better in mass corporate restaurants for 4 pound. Avoid at all costs... they have no idea what food is about... and over bill you for everything

Simple food cooked badly. Plus the VAT was added to the bill. We ended up paying over $50 after tax a service for simple food that would taste better at a Denny's. There was a slight rancid smell to the place also.

A nice enjoyable place to relax and enjoy your dinner whilst receiving outstanding service. A quiet repast.

We stayed two nights and each night we ate at the hotel restuarant. The food was the usual burger and chips, salmon , fish and chips . Could not fault the food or the size of the meals. Great cocktails as well.

Teníamos cuatro desayunos allí durante nuestra estancia en el Rembrandt. La comida era muy buena y variada para un buffet. Desayuno inglés, un desayuno americano, y artículos eoropean desayuno cada día. Ventajas eran la variedad, alimentos calientes alimentos fríos calientes y fríos, múltiples sitios para zumo, un entorno encantador. Puntos extra por tener Nutella y cruasanes, desgraciadamente, las mesas están muy cerca una de la otra, que es raro para un buffet. Tuvimos que esperar para una mesa de dos de las cuatro mañanas.

Me he alojado en el muchas veces rembrandt durante años y su restaurante fue siempre agradable con un asador y un buffet de desayuno maravilloso también. De tarde, trataron de introducir las comidas asiáticas en los menús y oscilaba en su menú británico. Hace un par de semanas, yo estaba allí para ver su buffet de almuerzo, pero parecía ser la tarifa más oriental y a medio asado. No comer eso. Se pierda sus asados desde hace 12 años y su menú.

Good food, well prepared in elegant dining room. Pleasant surprise from usual drab hotel food. Never real busy. Get a drink in the private club atmosphere bar and then a relaxing, not overpriced dinner.

Try the chicken strips and either of the beef sandwiches are very good for a light meal. We had ours just prior to 11PM but received no resistance as they close at 11. One would be on room service after that.

Habíamos reservado una mesa para una comida de domingo tarde. El lugar estaba vacío a la 1:45. Pero la comida del buffet era en abundancia, estupendos sabores con todos los adornos de los domingos. Demasiado malo, tomó más tiempo para conseguir el vino que pasillos comer nuestra comida. Tan innecesario cuando el personal tenía todo el tiempo del mundo para nosotros.

Nice variety, lovely staff, Hotel was very busy and tables at breakfast time were very close together and negotiating with full plates was tricky.

I want to start off by saying we did not eat dinner here. We went for drinks and "snacks" one evening while staying at the Rembrandt. The restaurant was just okay. The service was a bit slow and the food we ordered was nothing special. The hotel on the other hand is perfect!

Palette is the very large restaurant (breakfast room) for this well located, Knightsbridge/South Kensington hotel. Major museums are close-by, and I'm sure it's very useful for business and leisure.However, I'd give dinner a miss - when there are so many really great places to eat in London.Friday night at 8 saw two other tables of two occupied. Consequently, the service was good.My 4 large prawns were delicious - not sure why the lemon to squeeze over them was char-grilled, but hey - looked pretty.We both had T-bone steak (£29) which was seriously hard work on the jaw, so much chewing was needed. Chips were so fluffy on the inside, that I wouldn't have been surprised to learn they'd been mashed then reformed before deep-frying. 3 deep fried onions were an accompaniment, along with a mushroom with tomato on top. Mustard arrived after a while.Puddings were unforgivably tedious, but I had fruit salad - much chopped up apple and juice. My husband’s ‘home made crème caramel with stawberries’ could have been a supermarket own brand one, flopped on a plate that had been smeared round with one squashed berry. Food was well presented, service was good, but the whole quality of the dinner experience was distinctly underwhelming.

We had afternoon tea in the lounge; wonderfully pleasant surrounds and very comfortable. It made for the perfect escape from the museums opposite - much more pleasant than a museum cafe. The tea was excellent, as was the service. If you're visiting the V&A and want a comfortable and very pleasant break, head across the road to here!

10 / 11 / '2012, We had, for some months organised with the Rembrandt Hotel a family dinner, 4 diners, all adults, which we had travelled over-seas for. I was a little surprised, only 3 other tables occupied on a Saturday night at 8Pm in Knightsbridge, people must have known a lot more than we did! 2 ordered Lamb Shank & 2 Turkey, After an hour we reminded the waiter of our order, we were finally served after a one and a quarter hour wait. Meanwhile I ordered a chilled bottle of French Sauvignon Blanc. It arrived warm which I pointed out and was urged to "try it anyway". I couldnt believe my ears. They served the men first. The shank was served on a bed of gooey mash sitting in a thick brown gravy, it arrived barely warm so we sent it back the other 2 diners had almost finished their 2 slices of Turkey by the time it returned. Lamb Shank should fall off the bone instead it had to be carved off. No vegetables were served. We ordered 2 bowls of "New Potatoes" It was a long, long time since these grey waxey specimens had seen the earth, they certainly weren't "New Potatoes" There were 2 orders for desert, the first, a strawberry cake, a cheesecake arrived and was reluctantly replaced with a steamed type pudding with strawberry jam, that was the strawberry cake. I ordered Banoffi Pie. A tartlet was served. Hard pastry case, the type that shoots across the room when you stick a fork or spoon in. I persevered only to find black bananas at the base & decorated with dried bananas. It was the final straw, inedible. I called the waiter & pointed it out. It was removed without an apology, no alternative was offered, it was all done in silence and I was charged for it.It was an awful experience, a long planned evening of fun and remembering was ruined by poor food and poor service for which we paid full price We made the staff aware of our disappointment when paying the bill, no comment or apology was at any stage offered by the dining-room staffWe have also written to the hotel to inform them of our bad experience at their restaurant.

Unfortunately not too popular so you can be in a huge space with only one or two other parties. Works well for the included breakfast at the hotel, but not so great for dinner
