Paladar in Southwark

We have had a wonderful late lunch at Paladar. The conservatory is beautiful and really makes you feel like you’re on a different continent! The food was wonderfully arranged on the plate, delicious and very filling. And last but not least - coeliac safe! 😍

A must experience service, was amazing thanks to the lovely French lady who's name I manged to forget due to the amount of complimentary drinks, atmosphere amazing, food unique and nice

Food is totally average, the portions are small and overpriced. Service was great

The food was tasty, but for the big plate prices we expected to come away a little bit more full. £25.70 for 3 small chicken thighs was a bit steep, as well as £18.90 for half an aubergine... We were well looked after and the atmosphere was great, but we called in the shop on the way home for a snack.

Amazing basil/cucumber cocktail and the purple churros were so good. Lots of vegan options

Great address. The dishes to share were excellent and original. We discovered lots of new flavors. The cocktails were super good. All in a very pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff.

Food was really nice. The outside area we sat in is stunning. Little on the pricey side with the set menu, but worth it as we did get to try lots of things. Very much reccomend!

The food is superb, extremely refined, great proportions, the staff is extremely attentive, the bartender was a great conversationalist, and we went back for cocktails after our dinner a day later. Gluten Free gourmet! A tasting sensation! We toured Europe for a year, this restaurant was the best of all we ate at.

100% gluten free menu and internet recommendations took us here and we weren't disappointed. Lovely food and atmosphere service was very good and I'd recommend.

What a great restaurant - a real find ! As a coeliac I sometimes struggle to find great GF food - but the whole menu is gluten free and really tasty. I took my family there and everyone enjoyed the South American menu on offer.

A lovely night for a birthday. One of the group had gluten intolerance so we thought of trying it out. What can I say if not that food was absolutely delicious form starter ( mention to the pork belly arepas) to main (the chicken was absolutely cooked to perfection), nice sides and desserts. Service was perfect. Food is a bit pricey but totally worth for the quality you get. We will come back even without our celiac guest.

Very good wine, tasty starters but extremely overpriced mains; in fact beef tacos were very bland and boring. Indeed a friendly welcoming service. I would come back if mains were £5-£7 cheaper.

Paladar is my favourite restaurant in the world. I've been six times now and it just gets better and better! The staff are so friendly and attentive, and the FOOD is amazing! The flavours in the aubergine dish are so delicious. I went for my birthday and they gave me some birthday churros. The courtyard out the back is also so beautiful! Can't wait to come back again!!

Delightful Latin American restaurant. For early diners, the set menu is great value. Standouts are the pork-belly arepa and the chicken with achiote and mojo.

Visited the another night. Food was poor, not Latin American, and if it was, then when I was in Latin America then I didn’t eat Latin American food. Prices shocking, definitely not worth the dollar. Services very poor, had a tiny glass of water which didn’t get refilled. Would avoid, but some nice decor I suppose.

The food was really tasty and the service was good. Nothing extraordinary but good.

Unfortunately left feeling disappointed by Paladar. It started with us arriving promptly for our reservation, only to be told our table wasn’t ready. The restaurant appeared almost empty and it wasn’t clear why we couldn’t be seated; it was about 10 minutes before we finally got to our table. Both of our grilled chicken mains arrived barely warm, which raised concerns that the chicken was not properly cooked. We had to wait around 5 minutes before anyone appeared that we could tell. Our server dealt with it quickly and apologetically and got us new mains once he appeared, but these were also not hot. However by this point, with a show to go to (it is the pre-theatre menu, after all) we decided to just eat it and move on. Our mistake, perhaps, to suggest it was acceptable. Water was also not refilled regularly, instead having to wait until the next course was served, and nobody came to ask us if we wanted anything else when we were finished or if we wanted the bill, even though a server was nearby. Eventually we got up to ask for it; for these prices I would expect more attentiveness overall, especially when the place is not busy. We were surprised to find when we got the bill that we were being charged in full for the meal when we had been served a cold main; a gesture of goodwill would have been appreciated. When we challenged our server, he explained he could not remove the chicken because it is part of the set meal. We then got into a back and forth about what could and could not be removed from the bill. Eventually this was settled to our satisfaction, but it was a very unpleasant conversation that left us with a bad taste in the mouth. Based on the defensive replies to negative reviews here I have now seen, I’m not surprised that the restaurant default is not to make amends when something is wrong. It’s a shame because we did enjoy the starter and dessert, and the atmosphere of the place, but we won’t be returning.

Staying in London for a night, we booked last minute (lucky as they were almost fully booked). Amazing service , lovely staff and incredible food. Love how you can scan the qr code and see not only photos of the dishes, but videos of dish and the process of making. We had the 3 set sides, beef tacos and pulled pork main dishes to share, finishing with churros. So so so tasty , and lovely music and vibes and reasonable pricing especially for London and the service and quality. 10/10 would come again.

Welcoming, lovely staff. Everything is gluten free which made our gluten intolerant friend very happy. Food was ok, bigger portions than many of the photos look. But both the chicken thighs and slow cooked pork were massively salty, and the pork was simultaneously tender, but dry.

Great food, everything we ordered was super yummy! The cheese croquettes are a must! The staff was also really nice and helpful and the ambience is very cozy.

Birria tacos where very bland, and they charged me like 4 euro for water when I wanted tap water. Super expensive for wheat you get. Would not go there again

This is a hidden gem, well maybe not that hidden and just a gem. Either way that one looks at it, Paladar is a restaurant you need to seek out. From the inventive cocktails, to the immaculate presentation, via the delicious mains. Also, do not forget to try the desserts!

Amazing food and a friendly atmosphere

Excellent LatAm food well presented and creative and cooked on premise. Sharing plates and nice wine. LatAm beers and wines - with bin end bottles from £36. Nice place to go for a treat or if you are not on a budget.

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I am GF and DF, as the menu is dedicated GF it was so easy for them to adapt. The servers were full of personality and so polite, the food really stole the show. It was phenomenal. You will be the first place we book next time we're in london

Had a really lovely evening here. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the general vibe was great.

Food was brilliant but if I'm honest let down by a few things. Barely had enough room to move in the conservatory as it was so packed full I could touch the table to the side and back of me! The chairs were so close every move from the person behind made the flimsy garden chair we were seated on bounce back and forth. Add to that a table so small you could barely put your elbows on and then add a few dishes to the table and it was so uncomfortable it took away from how great the food was. The lady who served us however was very friendly and welcoming. A change of chairs to something more substantial and give us some more room to move and dine and it would be an amazing experience.

This place really did blow my mind. Not only was the place itself absolutely gorgeous (the ganden is a truly stunning little gem), but the staff were the friendliest and nicest I've come across in a very long time! Food was just unbelievable...full of flavour and surprising textures. It is probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in the last 5 years.

Really enjoyed our dining experience at Paladar. We ordered starters, mains and desserts. Every dish was fantastic, good portion sizes, food was very flavorful and well presented. Some of the best food I've had out for a while! The service was also great from waiters & barman. The manager gave us a tablet so we could see photos of what each of the dishes looked like before we ordered. They also do a good selection of non alcoholic cocktails. Will definitely be coming back.

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but overall, I found the experience underwhelming. Some dishes lacked balance—guacamole was overly lemony, banana crisps far too salty, and a few plates leaned either too sweet or too salty. The pulled pork, in particular, lacked depth of flavor. Nothing really stood out, and considering the steep prices, it just didn’t feel worth it

Very tasty. This is a Latin American restaurant, but some dishes have their original twist. The best dish of the night was Roast aubergine.

We went here over the weekend and have a fantastic meal and experience. We did the sharers menu as it was 100% gluten free and my partner wanted to try as much of the menu as possible. All the dishes were excellent and tasted great. We will be back.

Paladar is an excellent South American restaurant. Charles, the owner, always employs excellent waiting staff, many of whom stay for years and get to know you. It's all sharing plates and we have some favourites that we always have, in particular the aubergine. They have a good wine list and do great cocktails. Reservations recommended later in the week and at weekends. They have exhibitions of art from South American artists on the walls that change every few months.

On top of that, we came last night and it was truly a treat, original. Nice setting, thanks to Nadia for pampering us, she loves her job from that point of view. Bye

We had the most incredible meal at Paladar! For starters we got the pork belly and cheese tapioca which were both delicious followed by the chicken thighs, beef and pork tacos. Bland, mediocre food for a hefty price tag. I’ve had tastier food from an Old El Paso box. Such a shame because I was really looking forward to some authentic Latin flavours and it was completely watered down (potentially to cater to the local clientele?), I went for the birria tacos. The staff were nice and they even gave us the iPad to put on our own music as we had the whole of downstairs for my friend’s birthday party, but the food was unfortunately lacking severely 💔.

We thought the food was fussy and unsatisfying with more presentation than substance. And it was over priced. A disappointing evening.

The decor is truly stunning. They exhibit some incredibly beautiful art by Latin American artists, which they rotate every four months. Obsessed with what they had on display when I went, truly beautiful pieces. Also a big fan of the music they played, both things really added to the experience in my opinion. Got their fresh lemonade to drink and that was so good. Not too sweet, punchy and super refreshing. My partner and I shared the hominy corn & tapioca and cheese croquettes for the starter. Whilst the croquettes texturally weren’t for me, my partner really enjoyed them and we both loved the hominy corn. Both mains (sea bream & beef birria tacos) were delicious as well as their trio of sides. The churros for dessert were probably my favourite thing. Even though I was stuffed, I had to make room for them because of good they were. Both the sauces that it came with the churros complimented them so well, but that coffee dulce de leche sauce? Perfection. And I’m not even the biggest fan of coffee as a flavour. When it came to customer service, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and were kind enough to gift those churros for my birthday, which I’m grateful for. Overall it was a really nice experience and I’m glad I didn’t really have to think about my gluten intolerance at all and could just enjoy.

We visited in a large group for a birthday and we all had a brilliant time. The food is so delicious and we wanted to try everything on the menu! It's also a dream as a coeliac to not have to worry about anything and everybody agreed you couldn't tell it was all gluten free. The restaurant is vibrant and beautiful with lots of colourful art to look at and the staff are friendly and helpful. Most of our group are Brazilian and were excited to have such good cassava chips, which are a must if you visit! There is a large choice of wine which was very much enjoyed as well. I'd definitely recommend for really delicious food and a great atmosphere!

Fabulous find! Looked for a place close to our hotel that was different. The reviews lured us this way and the food and cocktails wowed us. Love their mocktail menu, and all the food was good but the beetroot salad is a definite DO NOT MISS. Will definitely be recommending to friends and coming back myself.

I came here for the first time… bit of a mixed bag tbh. Came with my gluten-free friend who absolutely loved everything. The lamb was genuinely delicious, and that caramel sauce for the Churros was a standout but the churros themselves everyone raves about? Pretty disappointing. I am sorry. Quite dry. The tuna tostadas (the crispy part) was way too oily for my taste - definitely regret ordering that one. 3.5/5 stars. For these prices, I expected better and probably won't return. That said, if you're gluten-free, you might want to check it out. However, my friend loved it!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I wouldn't recommend this place. It's overpriced and overrated. The meats are not of the quality expected and the arepas were so dry, we had to choke them down. The rest of the meal, though pretty to look at, was entirely forgettable. Frankly, it's not Latin American food, even fusion, as I believe they claim. Won't be going back. Edited to add : Our review was met with a racist comment saying "people like us" are unlikely to know what Latin American food even is.

A group of us had a Christmas meal at Paladar recently and it was one of my favourite dining experiences of recent times. Everything about it was great - the atmosphere, the decor, the warm and friendly staff, and most of all the food. We had the Christmas sharing menu which allowed us to enjoy a broad range of dishes, all so intricately and beautifully put together, and all delicious. And 100% gluten-free which suited me and one of my friends who is coeliac. With the wine it came to £125 but definitely worth it. Can't wait to go back!

Perfect Party Venue! I chose Paladar to be the host / venue for my 50th birthday. The team worked tirelessly to make sure my guests and i had a perfect evening. Cocktails, food and ambience all perfect. Thanks guys. It was fab.

We went to Paladar for our Xmas Work's Lunch in the Amazon Lounge and the service and food was excellent. It helped that the menu was gluten free and they paid particular attention to vegetarians and vegans who said they were made to feel special. They were also very careful with the employee with a nut allergy. Thank you Paladar and see you next year.

This is the most amazing and delicious lunch I have had for a very long time. The food was absolutely delicious and so different. The service was impeccable with such polite and friendly staff Communication was exemplery with lots of questions and changes to our booking catered for. Gluten free, dog friendly and near a station with fabulous atmosphere Highly recommend. We will be back.

The food speaks by itself, honestly a unique taste, not every restaurant has such quality! I even called the chef to congratulate since I felt in my country! Secondly, the place it's a full art exhibition. Honestly the paintings from "RosasMarin" transport you to a different time, zone and atmosphere. I was told he's inspired by women work and the hardships they have in life, So what a theme! The details next to the paintings make it very accessible for any art collector. For both the food and the paintings I will come back thousands times to this restaurant!

What a place👏🏽👏🏽amazing food and venue. Excellent wine but the best was the Staff. Their incredible hospitalty and way of going out of their ways to give us a good experience I've never seen before. The highlight of the day (year) was when the young and very sweet chef from the Dominican Rep. asked me to dance, bachata and salsa ❤️It was so much fun. We had a fabulous meal here as a couple in November. The food and drinks were great but what really made the night was the service. We sat in the courtyard which was a beautiful setting. The cocktails were delicious and our server, Alberto, was excellent. He showed us pictures of all of the dishes and told us which ones were his favourite. Then they surprised me with a birthday song and dessert. Alberto was so helpful and attentive. The restaurant has a lot of art work on display too and they change the artist frequently, so they let us walk around and view the art. It was a great evening and we’d definitely go back.

Wonderful South American food and wine and very friendly helpful staff. A noisy bistro like atmosphere, so lively rather than sedate. On a busy road. We have eaten there a few times.

The festive menu was delicious, could work on the desserts, except the churros, the pumpkin flan and the dolce ice cream nothing else was great on the plate.. but the starters the mains were fabulous and I loved the decor of the extended garden. Warm and cozy. Overall fantastic.
