Palace Cafe Restaurant in Portsmouth

Rubbish !! The guy in the kitchen showed disrespect and started shouting ! When I tried to explain to him that my plate is missing a chicken skewer, and I was correct at the end.

Breakfast is amazing massive portions the place was so busy yet they still were so fast and polite, my boyfriend ordered the gut buster breakfast and loved it I ordered eggs sausage and chips but accidently put sugar on my chips and they offered to take them back on the house and re make them bless them so lovely! Xx defo recommend we have also come before for coffee and lunch and food is so delicious and well seasoned 10/10

Cosham's Persian Gem !.The food is excellent & great value.Chicken kebabs ( joojeh) rice & Persian bread really good.Other kebabs also good.Really great staff too.Bread freshly baked in a tanoor.Restaurant only pm Tues- Sat.You would pay far more in London.All in all what's not to like.Try sumac ( red berry powder) on your kebab & maybe a durgh ( Yoghurt with mint drink) aids the digestion for the total Persian experience.Loved it !

Makes a change from the usual high street cafes. Lovely tidy place and very good service. Will definitely be back again.

Portsmouth was sorely lacking a quality Persian restaurant, but these guys have truly filled the gap with their absolutely brilliant food, fantastic atmosphere, and great service. They've done an outstanding job!

I booked a table for myself and my friend. We tried the evening menu and were surprised by the size of the portions - big for my stomach haha…just joking. The food was really tasty, the waiter was very friendly and gave us suggestions. Nice atmosphere and very friendly people. The bill came for the total of £52, we left a tip of £2. Same food I’m sure would cost double at Gunwharf or Port Solent! Local restaurants should get visited more often!

We booked into Palace Cafe to sample their new evening menu with friends. We regularly pop in for breakfast and lunch but we’re keen to try their new Persian menu. So glad we did. The food was delicious. Lightly seasoned tender meat, light and fluffy rice seasoned with saffron and incredible ice cream with pistachio and almonds. All of our group throughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to suggest dishes. Such a lovely evening. We definitely will be back.

Delicious Persian meal. Lovely venue, good service, attentive host. Varied traditional daytime menu and a new Persian evening menu. If you have never tried Persian food - you are in for a culinary treat!

First time eating in the garden, sat at the table by the fountain. Good food and lovely friendly staff as always!

Average food quality for price asked for fried bread as a extra as breakfast came with toast. But never got the toast even though I asked for it ? Think there is a communication issue between waitresses and chefs. As I was told as you got fried bread you don’t get toast but I did order it as a extra

Very efficiently run. Great selection of food. Had early starter which was tasty and hot. Friendly staff, good home food and worth a visit

Went for the Gut Buster Breakfast and a coffee. Starting with coffee, it was just a normal white coffee but was the best coffee I have had in years and was just the right size. The Gut Buster was as advertised, cafe quality sausage but lovely non the same, defo filled me up. Service and speed of service was impeccable, quick and courteous. COVID cleanliness was perfect not spec of dust to be seen anywhere, even the sauce bottles were sparkling. All in all this is defo the cafe to come to in Cosham, well done to the team for delivering a great result.

Have used this cafe for 6 years with no problems ( take away ) and usually have 2 all day breakfasts, l do not like beans so usually have a few mushrooms instead and we have no drinks ( which are included in price ) now they want us to pay 80p for the mushrooms. Sorry no way you have lost our custom all for being greedy.

The staff were extremely rude, abrupt and unpleasant. The quality of food is awful! Don’t waste your money

A really good café. No frills but good quality food and brilliant service with nothing too much trouble for the friendly staff. Large portions and well cooked. Loved their dessert pancakes! Highly recommended for a café breakfast or lunch.

On this occasion I wasn’t feeling in the mood for the usual full English so I opted for a chicken Burger! The salad was fresh as was the roll and as expected the burger was the usual chip shop style burger flat and not much to it but it was a tasty snack! I will be back for a brekkie and a full report soon

Perdí mi tren en Cosham. Hubo una espera de 55 minutos para el siguiente. En lugar de sentarme en la plataforma, pensé que encontraría un lugar para un refrigerio. Al otro lado de la carretera estaba el palacio. Un número de opciones de desayuno. La mía era muy sabrosa, y barata. Un montón de otras opciones para el almuerzo, etc. eficiente camarera. El personal muy amable. Gran valor.Si vuelvo a perder el tren volveré!

Found this place whilst staying in the area and needed somewhere for a light breakfast. Menu was very comprehensive and cheap a full english breakfast with all the works and tea only £5.99. Had tea and toast which was served quickly and politely. This place is a little gem and if you are in the area use it and help keep the independent cafe's going

Wanted a breakie, and thought we would come here to the Palace. A little drive from home, but worth it. The staff here are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really good with a choice of six different ones. There are plenty of other food choices too. And they all look good. Worth the visit. Hope you’re not disappointed.

Good full english breakfast including black pudding priced about average as local cafes go my only criticism would the restaurant was a little cold.Overall would go back again.

I always go here. Absolutely brilliant service, staff are very friendly and ensure you have a great time. Food is lovely every time. It's clean, tidy and would recommend to anyone. Toilets are so clean and smell nice too.

Treated ourselves to breakfast on my son's school inset day. Lots of choice in Cosham, but checked out TripAdvisor first. It lived up to the 5* rating. Great value, delicious breakfast. Coffee was great, as was my Son'a chocolate milkshake which said was lovely. All Served quickly but not rushed. Staff were happy to accommodate any requests. Would go again.

Went in this place for the first time this morning while in Cosham on the way to visit a relative in QA Hospital.

Very nice Cafe/Restaurant, very clean & friendly. Recommend this place if you are in Cosham and looking for quick service with food at reasonable prices. Great menu to choose from, I had Bacon Baps, just got home from Egypt so needed the Bacon fix! Looking forward to my next visit to try something more from the menu.

Ok so we set the sat nav for a Greggs to get a bacon buttie, couldn't find it but then happened on this place instead. A stroke of luck!

use this cafe for breakfast every week-end for about a year now, great food! and cooked fresh on premises, (no microwaving). staff always friendly and smiling and provide a very quick service. very good value and very clean.

Have been to this cafe about five times, very good value, food always cooked well and staff pleasant, the breakfast is fab and so is the liver and onions, there is a varied choice of food so something to suit everyone, also it is spotlessly clean

if you want a very good breakfast this is the place. cooked not microwaved and very resonably priced

What a find! This is a great value café with fantastic service. The tables, cutlery and crockery are noticeably clean. Good choice of breakfast and meal selections and well cooked. This is plain good food at very competitive prices. Great stop for a breakfast or lunch. Mostly indoor seating ,with a few seats and tables outside on pavement. Open 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 3:30 pm Sunday.
