First time visiting this restaurant, but have previously visited a previous branch and loved the food there! Food was still amazing! Lovely private dining space, very attentive staff, delicious and beautifully presented food and tasty cocktails. Finally found a truly, authentic Indian restaurant, near-ish to Bishops Stortford.

Good hygiene and environment. Food was really good. Staff were friendly and caring.

We had a wonderful time here. Would highly recommend coming here, the prices are not the lowest, but the food is absolutely fantastic, completely worth it. They have free parking.

I really enjoyed the meal at this Indian restaurant, the staff were helpful, and food was delicious, compliments to the chef we had Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Curry and the deserts Passion fruit Cheesecake and the chocolate samosas with ice cream, only for the very sweet toothed! Made to feel very welcome by Raj and Nav & the staff, will definitely come back again and thoroughly recommend it other foodies who also love good Indian food.

I went to Pakwaan last night and had a wonderful authentic Punjabi meal with my partner. The place is decorated beautifully and had a lovely vibe, with great Indian music in the background. We started with Margarita cocktails that went really well with the papadums. I had the Onion Bhaji and my partner the Chicken Chops, then for main I had the Paneer Lababdar & my partner had the Lamb Rogan Josh, sharing a rice and naan bread. Om my... the Peshawari naan was something else, so delicious and sweet with nuts and honey I think. Finally for dessert we tried their Chocolate Samosa with an Espresso Martini which were also amazing. We'll certainly back and taking friends.

The food is excellent: every dish we had, including sides, was of high quality and the tilapia main course was outstanding. We had the house red "Anciens temps" and this was fine - no need to splash out on the really expensive ones, unless you feel the need! The service was prompt and friendly, allowing us time between courses when requested and checking at the end that all had been well. The only disappointment was that there were not more people there - with this quality, it deserved to be full on a Friday evening. Possibly the website booking, with the threat of charges if you don't show, or cancel late, or change the number of diners, could be more user-friendly, though one appreciates why restaurants have to do this. The dishes are so imaginative, you will want to return as soon as possible!

Now wow and wow again. I've lived locally for 18 years and was never aware that this amazing restaurant had been here for so long! It was a lovely atmosphere with live Indian themed music for a great feel, something that you'd not usually get elsewhere. The staff especially Ronnie our waiter was not just good but excellent. He gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted, explained what all the meals we chose were and was so polite when asking how we were enjoying the food. Perfect. The food was incredible. I've eaten at lots and lots of Indian restaurants over many years from home Punjabi cooking styles to your standard curry houses in London and around the county and this was by far one of the best l've ever eaten at. If you really know your Indian food you couldn't complain about any of what was served. Deep flavours, fresh moist chicken, tender calamari and the lightest fluffiest breads you could ask for. The dessert we had were the crispy samosas filled with Belgian chocolate and served with ice cream which was a genius twist on your standard samosa. Price wise was about right for the quality of food as they say. You get what you pay for and this was bang on for your buck. Keep up the great work chefs and all we will be back! Oh and if you're lucky enough to have this near enough for a takeaway, you are very spoilt.

I had booked a table for seven of us, for Sunday late afternoon. We received a warm welcome and the set menu, all you can eat explained. All the dishes were freshly prepared and tasted delicious. We sampled everything of the set menu and each was as fresh and as good as the next dish and cooked to order and we could order more as and when we wanted it. The onion bhaji were just delightful. The other great thing, we had someone who is gluten intolerant, and they could choose from the entire set menu, which has never happened before. She could eat everything that we did and was not limited which was a pleasant surprise. Myself and the rest of us all thought it was a lovely place, with fantastic authentic food and a good atmosphere. This was worth every penny and we are looking forward to going again soon. I would highly recommend.

Just had lunch in here. We found it completely by of chance and I’m SO HAPPY we did. Without a doubt the BEST Indian restaurant in Essex. We normally travel all the way into London for Dishoom, well I won’t be needing to make that journey again. The food here is exceptional!! Lovely friendly staff too. Wish I had found it sooner.
