Great Sunday Feast Buffet - food and staff are inpecable. Food is both presented perfectly and incredibly tasting. Ronnie looked after us to such a high standard! Would recommend to anyway.

Delicious authentic Indian food - best Indian in Essex!

Came in for an impromptu Sunday lunch, excellent service and delicious food, just the right amount per portion and so good, couldn’t stick to the set menu as we wanted to try everything! Will definitely be back. Missed off one star as it was an early lunch so the restaurant was fairly empty hence the lack of atmosphere but it was a great meal and we’ll do it again.

Best curry I've ever had! Was recommended this place by a chance meeting on holiday and im so glad we decided to try it out! The food was delicious, hot and perfectly spiced (not too spicy but enough to know its there) the waiters were friendly and very helpful answering all my questions and giving their recommendations especially Ronnie who was kind enough to bring me a taster of the Pani Puri (a new firm favourite I will add) the service was quick and the atmosphere was perfect for a fun but intimate romantic evening. Can't recommend this restaurant more and will be back soon!

Had a lovely midweek meal - that was the only reason there were less stars for atmosphere as there were not so many diners. Food was amazing especially and lovely considerate servers. They served us an extra pani puri as they’re an odd number of us too! Would highly recommend.

We recently ate at Pakwaan and loved it! From the moment we walked in, the place felt warm and welcoming. The staff (Brenda and owner Raj) were super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. They were easy to talk to and really added to the experience. The food was amazing—full of flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The menu had a ton of options, and the staff were happy to give recommendations or make changes. If you’re looking for great food and awesome service and a really good atmosphere with nice level of live music, this is perfect

Had an amazing time here! The staff, especially Brenda, Raj, and the chef, were amazing—so friendly and welcoming. The food was brilliant and so fresh What made it even more special was how hospitable they were. They even invited us into the kitchen and let me make my own naan! It was such a unique and fun experience that I’ll never forget. I’ll definitely be back to this restaurant. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and an unforgettable experience!

My experience as a coeliac at Pakwaan was exceptional! All canapés provided at our conference were gluten free with reassurance from the restaurant manager. Numerous dishes including chicken, lamb and vegetable options were all coeliac friendly. I felt very comfortable eating here and would certainly recommend if anyone is looking for a delicious, gluten free dinner.

I recently tried Pakwaan's Chocolate Samosa and was blown away! The crispy exterior gave way to a rich, velvety chocolate filling that left me craving more. A game-changer for dessert lovers.

Lovely dishes - King prawn starter and lamb & chicken kebab. Really unusual and full of delicious flavours. Duck and chicken bhuna masala delicious. Would definitely recommend. The atmosphere was very good with live music and fantastic service by Ronnie.

I’ll definitely be returning and bringing friends with me. The food and service were 5 star. Ronnie who served us was so lovely and we met the chef Babu who cooks the best food I’ve ever tasted.

The food was excellent, but the evening was ruined by the noise. When booking the day before our visit, when we had specifically asked, we had been told that there would be live music - it was a Saturday night - but that we would be allocated a quiet table. In fact there was a birthday party going on, with loud thumping disco music, and karaoke , which totally drowned out conversation for the rest of the guests. The management were joining in, and photographing the event, to the extent that we had to get up to leave before we could get the bill, despite a number of requests. The evening was not helped by the waitress accidentally knocking a bottle of wine over me. There was no attempt to replace the bottle until I asked for a replacement. The fact the wine went over my shirt, jacket and trousers was ignored. The staff were too busy attending to the birthday party It was a dreadful evening for those not involved in the party, and we felt we had been badly misled by the assurances we had been given.

The best I Dian food I have ever eaten! Especially the vegetarian options. Great friendly service. Live music. Great experience. Will certainly be returning very soon.

Cancelled my booking several months later after it had been confirmed. No consideration for the booking being a special occasion. Manager has felt that this was not worthy of their time, and has not contacted me, despite assurances from their staff.

After seeing it advertised on my mobile. We asked our friend who lives local and was told its supposed to be nice but they hadn't yet tried it. So we popped in to book it and the boss and staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed what we had. It was something different and was given great advise by Ronnie. I enjoyed my expresso martini, too. We wasn't rushed either. And it seems you could carry on having drinks after it appears it was closing time??. It was a bit chilly, also. But it would'nt put us off and would definitely visit again go back and have the paneer dish, again!!. All staff were good, too.

First time visiting this restaurant, but have previously visited a previous branch and loved the food there! Food was still amazing! Lovely private dining space, very attentive staff, delicious and beautifully presented food and tasty cocktails. Finally found a truly, authentic Indian restaurant, near-ish to Bishops Stortford.

We had a wonderful time here. Would highly recommend coming here, the prices are not the lowest, but the food is absolutely fantastic, completely worth it. They have free parking.

I really enjoyed the meal at this Indian restaurant, the staff were helpful, and food was delicious, compliments to the chef we had Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Curry and the deserts Passion fruit Cheesecake and the chocolate samosas with ice cream, only for the very sweet toothed! Made to feel very welcome by Raj and Nav & the staff, will definitely come back again and thoroughly recommend it other foodies who also love good Indian food.

I went to Pakwaan last night and had a wonderful authentic Punjabi meal with my partner. The place is decorated beautifully and had a lovely vibe, with great Indian music in the background. We started with Margarita cocktails that went really well with the papadums. I had the Onion Bhaji and my partner the Chicken Chops, then for main I had the Paneer Lababdar & my partner had the Lamb Rogan Josh, sharing a rice and naan bread. Om my... the Peshawari naan was something else, so delicious and sweet with nuts and honey I think. Finally for dessert we tried their Chocolate Samosa with an Espresso Martini which were also amazing. We'll certainly back and taking friends.

BEST FOOD BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON BEST PRICE.

The food is excellent: every dish we had, including sides, was of high quality and the tilapia main course was outstanding. We had the house red "Anciens temps" and this was fine - no need to splash out on the really expensive ones, unless you feel the need! The service was prompt and friendly, allowing us time between courses when requested and checking at the end that all had been well. The only disappointment was that there were not more people there - with this quality, it deserved to be full on a Friday evening. Possibly the website booking, with the threat of charges if you don't show, or cancel late, or change the number of diners, could be more user-friendly, though one appreciates why restaurants have to do this. The dishes are so imaginative, you will want to return as soon as possible!
