Regarding Ed’s review below. I’m the owner of paisley grey - Eds review is based on him being denied access to our cafe due to him harassing staff and myself and even having to file a police report against him due to inappropriate behaviour and harassment.

Visited again for lunch with family. Proper pots of tea served here. Tuna Mayo sandwich and portion of fries to share. Granted service is a little slow at times. Quirky décor and seating and friendly service. Dog friendly. Free parking in main car park to rear. Licensed and decent wines by the glass and good atmosphere in evening ( open later Friday and Saturday evenings).

Friendly staff , lovely food , good value , great place to eat if you are not in a hurry and want a nice relaxed lunch as all food is freshly cooked . If you’re in a hurry or limited for time look elsewhere

Popped in again for pre dinner drink - nice atmosphere and chilled relaxed feeling. Dog and family friendly. Have been here a few times, service a little slow at lunch and think this was due to place being full but nice and relaxed. Right on High Street with free parking in car park behind shops.

Came for lunch with free kids meals.. service was awful, staff not happy.. asked for a high chair.. “have to wait I’m doing these drinks” waited 40mins for food. Ordered two cappuccinos had half a cup with a load of froth on the top! Must of ran out of chips as the kids plates were pitiful! We won’t be returning! Lots of people complaining and walking out.

Visited here last week. My husband had been before and wanted to return as he enjoyed the food. I arrived 1st and asked where to sit. A pleasant waitress advised " anywhere without reserve sign" I sat down and once my husband arrived, a few minutes later, our order was taken..Bacon butty, advacardo on toast, a regular coke and black coffee..A different waitress returned a with diet coke and my coffee. When we pointed out it was diet, she responded " its all we have in the fridge." My husband returned it and opted for a tea. The waitress seemed quite put out and throughout our visit appeared displeased. After a 20 min wait for a basic order, a large party arrived. The pleasant waitress asked us if we would move to a different table, we happily agreed. She apologised and said she forgot to put reserved sign of our table. No one offered to help move our drinks etc. I asked for a cup of hot water.( had drunk coffee as waited so long for food) The same ,displeased waitress brought me a jug, then a glass for my boiling water. Not a problem if she had not already been so unpleasant. After 30 mins, still no sign of food, when we asked we were told " it will be another 10 minutes " When we arrived the cafe was less than a quarter full. My husband had to return to work so we cancelled our order. I went to the counter to pay. The same waitress argued with me that when I pointed out my take on our visit. She even said it was my fault for sitting at a reserved table ( no sign when I sat there and not a problem when they took our order) I felt I was factual and in no way argumentative. They still happily charged £6 for an average black coffee, a tea and some awful service. I had to score food a 1 as we didn't get to try it. I don't often write a bad review, however this was an exceptionally bad visit...

It took a while to be served and the initial service was quite unfriendly. Then a long wait for our meal, although the second person who served us was very friendly and apologised for the wait. Meal was really disappointing : Veggie breakfast with mushrooms was 2 sad dried up looking mushrooms, that burst with water as you cut them, burnt avocado, charred but very raw peppers, a tiny portion of spinach and the sausages had very little taste. Toast and hashbrown ok. Such a shame as read good things and love supporting local businesses but wouldn't return.

My wife and I sat at a table the waitress took our order she returned with the wrong soft drink and when it was pointed out said that’s all they had in the fridge. A larger party then turned up and staff asked if we would move which we did but no one came to help to move our drinks, teapot etc. waited for over 40 mins still no sign of our food by which time we’d finished our drinks. Very poor service by young waitress. My wife asked for a cup of hot water, she brought a small jug, then a glass ! In the end we ran out of time and when we asked about our food were told another 10 mins. Have visited several times previously without issue but won’t return after this service.

Ate again for lunch at paisley Grey - had a ham and cheese toasty. Also been here a few times in the evening for a pre dinner drink or two, nice selection of red wines and really good chilled vibe to it in the evening when its open at weekend. Very clean and quirky decor. Service with a smile.

Stopped off for coffee and cake on the way home from birdwatching at Parkgate. Staff were really pleasant and helpful and it turns out that the cherry scones were made on the premises. My partner assures me that his scone which he had with butter, was very good. The coffees were really good and piping hot which is how we like them. Mine was a soya latte and my only really minor criticism is that I couldn't get a plant-based cake. No matter...I can understand it's perhaps a niche market and folk need to make money. The cafe itself had a lovely, comfortable interior with modern furniture and decor. As it was sunny we sat outside and made use of the cute tables. If we were in the area we would definitely return

Amazing, high-quality food and great coffee. The staff are great and make it a very happy vibe. Love the breakfast and become a regular place to meet friends for a good and coffee. Highly recommended for meeting family or friends for lunch and/or drinks.

We have been to the recently refurbished and updated Paisley Grey twice. Coffee is great, sandwiches generous and the bread is feather light. Not too expensive and they now have an outside. Looking forward to trying an evening

very bad experience i was sat outside with my frinds enjoying the sun and the woman coke out and has ago at us putting out food on the tables which are just set outside i don’t see what there problem is with us using the table. very bad experience i would not recommend sitting outside.

Lovely breakfast and nice atmosphere

This is a must visit place in Neston. My son and I had a mid afternoon break here. The ambiance is calm and relaxing, particularly after a testing day working as dealers. We had a fantastic light meal which was reasonably priced. Staff genuinely pleasant and friendly. We will definitely be back when in the area again.

Called in for a late morning breakfast before we went on holiday as we knew there were limited options open at the airport. This was a brilliant idea as there was a great menu with delicious dishes cooked to order. Have heard about the extended opening hours and we will definitely make a return visit soon as it's only a short walk from where we live!

Paisley Grey have just launched extended opening hours with an evening menu and alcohol. What can I say, excellent as always. We visited on their second night of the new menu and were delighted with what we had. "Small plates" or tapas style dishes for you to select several that you fancy. By no means were the portions small though and very reasonably priced! We had 3 plates each with an extra portion of fries and couldn't eat it all!!! Can thoroughly recommend the fried tortellini and samosas - absolutely heavenly! Same great dining experience as always and staff very helpful and polite as ever. Really is a little gem of a place Neston is lucky to have. Will defo become evening regulars!

Scrumptious special birthday breakfast and served with an excellent IPA! So at last a watering hole in Neston which serves craft beers...extended opening hours till 10pm Will definitely return one evening soon.

A lovely home from home Feel, serving fabulous foods and a great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff are very friendly. New opening times now until 10pm Tuesday to Saturday

We visited after work to try the new menu and have a few drinks after their recent refurb. We ordered 7 plates from the menu and they were amazing, the deep fried tortellini was amazing. It never ceases to amaze me the skill that Phil has in the kitchen, especially as its such a small space, creating amazing food and inovative dishes. The service was great and they have drinks on tap that should cover everyones taste. We will certainly be regular visitors.

Best little restaurant around Neston. Food is all cooked fresh and reasonable price. Staff excellent - very helpful if you want something different from the menu. Sometimes just have a coffee and read the paper but no pressure to hurry. Chef is friendly too.

Visited yesterday for the first time with three friends for lunch. Between us we had a ham sandwich, avocado on toast, and pulled pork on a brioche bun. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. We followed with cakes, which were equally good. Friendly service and great value for money. We will definitely be back.

We visited for the first time and were impressed with the food. We had a mushroom and ham omlette and poached eggs on sourdough toast. Everything was freshly cooked and straight from the kitchen. The waitress was friendly and happy to help with any questions we had.

Neston is becoming a foodie hub on the Wirral and Paisley Grey is one of the flagship eateries. I've only been a couple of times recently for breakfast, but it has all the things I look for in a cafe or restaurant: The service......is first class. You immediately feel welcomed and that your custom is valued. Food and drinks arrive together, piping hot with a smile. The front of house young lady makes you feel like a regular and enjoys feedback and chat. She enthuses about the food and is very helpful and knowledgeable re menu choice. (Have I mentioned the hard working, work experience student who fits in and quietly complements the staff). The menu/food....I need to explore this more and try different times of day. The meals my wife and I have had were full of wonderful top quality local ingredients; Wirral sourced and perfectly prepared. Food is well presented and portion sizes are realistic, unlike the many pretentious cheffy efforts weve paid a fortune for in the past, with postage stamp main courses with dabs and swirls and teaspoons of jus. I must try the specialist (country) food theme nights..sorry to regulars. The chef.....Having spoken to Phil the chef, it's clear that Neston has a well travelled professional on it's hands, both geographically, around the World, and standard wise, including top notch kitchens. He is extremely proud of what he does and where he sources his food, and full of enthusiasm. I hope in future we can enjoy the full extent of his considerable talents. The venue....as earlier reviews have said it is small and dark, and perhaps I wouldn't have chosen the colour scheme, on the other hand, it does lend itself to creating a certain atmosphere. And yes, many an Italian, French or Portuguese venue offer less, but have queues around the block where food is high on customer priorities. Until the next time...

Went with friends from Manchester, sat outside , I had the breakfast brunch bun , bacon , sausage,blackpud fried egg in a brioche bun with a pit of brown sauce ,my partner had the same + our friends had a burger + poached eggs on toast all orders came at the same time , staff friendly + efficient. Ridiculously good food. The care that is put into the preparation and cookery of the ingredients is inspired. Simple food cooked to perfection is a rarity and these guys are absolutely smashing it. The breakfast is incredible - if you order a takeaway it arrives as if you were to sit in and eat, pretty sure it's some sort of witchcraft. It's just really nice to eat food that the chef obviously cares about how its cooked and presented - the little things like different coloured tomatoes, different mushrooms cooked whole just make it an interesting experience as well as delicious. Don't change and keep hold of that chef, he's a genius

Very nice, went in wearing our mask's but NOONE else was wearing them! I think Chef should also have been wearing gloves (food hygiene) even though there were only four other people sitting down, I didn't feel totally safe!

Wow food 100% been on a number of occasions and always 100% staff friendly. Now has outside seating. Track and trace here as well.

Food was great. I had a very good Caesar salad and my wife had a veggie breakfast which she said was the best she'd ever had. As someone who enjoys tea, it's good to see a great tea menu as well as the usual coffees.

First time eating lunch here today. Two really good frothy capacchinos and some of the best Eggs Royale, I've tasted. Lovely muffin, perfectly cooked poached eggs, smoked salmon and spinach and gorgeous, creamy hollandaise sauce, all served on a hot plate. Shall definitely be returning.
