Called into this hotel for breakfast the day after the Snowdonia marathon and was really pleased with efficient and friendly service, the waitress was very helpful,and there was a good selection on offer.

This is the best place for food and best atmosphere in Llanberis. The manager Dave, was great! We came again the following day.

Yet another great stay. I was here again for two nights (my third time) and loved it. My room was brilliant, nicely decorated, very spacious with good views and perfectly clean. The bathroom featured a lovely modern shower enclosure with power-shower which was wonderful following a long day on Snowdon ! I also had dinner and enjoyed one of the best burgers I have ever had with amazing chips. The location is also good being only a few yards from the Sherpa bus stop to Pen-Y-Pas. Many thanks to Myra (hope I have spelt your name correctly) and the staff - I look forward to returning soon ! Andrew.

Spent £10 on the most minimalistic breakfast possible, the service was great but the portions were awful.

On check in we were greeted with a warm welcome and all staff were very kind to us. The room was cosy, but very comfy and clean. A new shower system in place in bathroom and overlooked the rear of the property. All mod cons, plenty of power points, up one flight of stairs and plenty of storage space. Ideal location for us....in middle of high st with several outlets around.....it gives the feeling of a 5* venue. We stayed one evening meal and breakfast. The quality of food enjoyed here was higher end, but it was a pub grub kinda menu - nothing wrong with this - just what we liked, and enjoyed. Because of risk of upset, it is advisable in busy times to book ahead of meal plans - and adhere to it. That's one thing I would recommend. I have to knock it down because a sachet based condiments shouldn't be 4*. And some of the staff, (great to see younger local employees) appeared phased when asked questions out of their comfort zone..... although having said that, the chef sorted out one of those issues with a bespoke meal as pictured. I think £9.95 for a full Welsh breakfast that wasn't full because one of the items had " run out" I found a bit steep, knocked this rating down too. I really enjoyed our stay, the lovely receptionist (and I think owner?) set up a fabulous weekend and we based ourselves on the perfect place.... everything we wanted to see within walking distance, both mountain and lake railway, waterfall, slate museum, restaurants, honey and winery, shops and ATMs, bus stop literally outside and some sheep in the road blocking up traffic! Taxi from BANGOR railway station....£33 one way. (May 23). Thanks for a great stay and who can spot the dragon!?

We picked the restaurant just walking the street. We were seated immediately and provided good service by friendly staff and manager. Food was inexpensive and good. Staff explained the restaurant themes and connection Wales. Very pleasant experience.

All the staff was very friendly and accommodating but the pub was missing the English and Scottish flags from the collections of flags in the pub, which I felt sad about

5/5 We ate at a few places around Llanberis over the course of a week and this was the best by a big margin. Great food, great atmosphere, great service and quite a bit cheaper than the other places around!

Great spot, in the centre of Llanberis village, perfect place to visit after a long day hiking Snowdon, Dave the manager was so warm and welcoming, dogs are welcome and brought bowls of water and treats to the table. Great choice of food and drinks, and lovely area outside to sit with a drink and enjoy the views. Dave was very knowledgeable about the local hiking routes and gave us some great tips on things to do & see during our stay.

Literally walked along high street and walked into this place as was well lit and looked like it had a good vibe .. sports bar theme and restaurant… Place was packed with locals and walkers .. Dave was the barman and had the entire crowd rocking with great music and service !! Best night in a bar for years !!!

We spent a week in Llanberis and went to the Padarn for both food and drinks. Everytime we went we received a wonderful welcome and looked after really well. Shout out to two members of staff went above and beyond, only got one name Dave who was amazing, but the other fella was also great. Highly recommend that you pay a visit if in Llanberis as me and my family can't wait to return. Eating wise I had the double burger and my wife the lamb Henry, both of which were amazing. Really family and dog friendly, thanks for making our visit very enjoyable

This is a good place to stay over before Zip World, you can also go here for breakfast without staying over. The breakfast is amazing but the night time menu is mixed my husband had the gammon which was excellent but I had the lasagne which must have been the end of the batch as hardly any meat and bulked out with cheddar on top so like eating cheese. The room was a bit old fashioned but large enough for a one night stay but the bed felt really uncomfortable with what felt like a bar running across just under the pillow line.

Very quiet when we visited (bank holiday weekend, mid afternoon) so we probably missed the busy period. Food was extremely nice and very reasonably priced. Staff really friendly and efficent. We have already decided that next time we are in Llanberis that we will eat here again.

The team managed to find a space for six of us without a booking - which was very welcome as we'd all just climbed Snowdon for the first time.We ordered the local Snowdon lager to drink, which was pretty smooth and also a good start, and we all enjoyed our mains (lamb burger, chickpea curry (vegan), mushroom stroganoff, cabonara amongst others).Our side arrived pretty late, but the staff were very friendly and very keen to help. The desserts were also very nice, would very much recommend.

Our last night in Snowdonia, we reserved a table for 4. Food ordered 1) Fish & Chips, counted chips on the plate. 2) Gammon & Chips (7 chips), 3) 3 bean with wild rice, placed on a dish in 3 parts, rice, 3 bean and sour cream. 4) Chilli and Rice, again placed on a dish in parts, chilli, rice and sour cream. This helps the bistro with an excuse for charging more for small portions. Hence excuse for calling their restaurant a bistro. It's a poor bistro, "poor quality" and "small portions". We had photos but unfortunately were deleted so could not upload to this review. We had complained to the restaurant managerwas, yesterday evening. Shown her the photos, her words, "even my children would want more than that". That was as far as she dealt with our complaint. The waitress bought over the dessert menu, we were still hungry, asked about the cheese platter, flavours cheese & chive, 2 cheese & horseradish, cheese & mustard . We mentioned what cheddar they had, the waitress mentioned grated cheddar. When ordering a cheese platter, you do not expect to be told we have grated cheddar for a start but the flavours of the cheese is not what you would expect on a cheese platter. Decision was not to order any desserts after the poor selection of the cheese platter and their strange flavours. We complained about our main dishes to the waitress because the lady manageress had disappeared into her office. The waitress in fairness reduced our bill by the cheapest main dish we had ordered, finally a result after complaining again. The manageress failed us as customers. We had eaten in various bistros before and this particular bistro was of poor quality, tastless and not value for money. There is a rustic pub just nearby the pardern called "The Heights", we had eaten there on our first night in Snowdonia. Quality of food & potions ordered 5*, Service 5* I would recommend this place. We finished by having our dessert at the "The Heights"!!!

Thank you staff for all your help to our group over the weekend. Nothing was too much trouble fro ensuring our group of 10 all ate breakfast together, to search out the out of hours GP number for my wife.

this a good place to stay in Llanberis. You have a sports bar and restaurant in the hotel. The food is cheap and good. Car parking is free. Some rooms need renovation such as double glass and good windows. Friendly staff.

We stopped here for an evening meal. A great place to eat with a nice garden and views. A large restaurant with plenty on offer. Was not particularly busy when we dined around 7pm mid May. Staff were friendly and food was good, although I did find the portion size of the chilli con Carne a bit on the small size. My partner had one of the burgers and was fully satisfied.

We visited the Padarn Lake restaurant on bank holiday weekend with friends as we have done on many occasions before. Despite the slightly frosty Landlady the food is good and the younger servers very helpful.

You'd almost pas this place by, until you look at the menu. Open long hours, very reasonably priced, stylishly laid out, friendly staff, a certain amount of seclusion due to individua;l booths and a truly excellent meal. We both opted for Hunters Chickem (the first time we've agree over something for 14 years), and it came with the most astounding mayonnaise I've ever had. Home-made,. with red onions which imparted a lovely colour. and beautifully creamy. I'd go back just for that. We had planned on pushing the boat out and having a pudding, but we were both so full it never happened. That night, I didn't even have a bicky before bed-time. I forget what the beer was, it was a local brew, but it was a very good pint indeed. Well, three, then! I'd go back like a shot, no question.

No problems with the room whatsoever, however the food/service was a disgrace. The only decent staff member was the chef who took the time to explain that they were understaffed and so we took that into consideration. In most cases, the food was inedible and some dishes were even sent back.

Food was very nice, however when my husband asked what cheeses were on the cheeseboard (as instructed on the menu) staff didn`t know and didn`t seem to care- `just normal cheese, they keep changing it`. We were the last people left in the restaurant and it was quite obvious they wanted us to leave.

Unfortunately our experience of this 'bistro' has not been good. We visited this evening and the gentleman who took our order was polite and friendly and answered all the questions we asked about gluten free. I was impressed that they had a separate frier for chips to ensure they were gluten free with no cross contamination. We ordered a camembert to share as a starter. When this arrived, I asked the waitress for another portion of the chutney as this was not separate, despite me asking for it to be in order to avoid cross contamination. The waitress informed me, in a very rude manner and a face like thunder, that we'd have to pay for the extra portion despite it being their error. When our mains arrived, we were not impressed. The side of veg, which had to be ordered as a side dish at an extra cost, was dry and wilted and we found 2 hairs in our meals. The waitress who cleared the table was very smiley and cheerful and the other staff would do well to take a leaf out of her book. A smile cost nothing! I hope for this place this is a one off, though the customers around us also said their food was not good, another 2 tables complained about how long their food was taking and another complained that one of the meals had not come as ordered. Save yourself the misery and choose one of the other nearby eateries. I wish we had!

We stayed in the Llanberis Village for a couple of nights and decided to eat at The Padarn. It was fairly quiet on arrival and decided to sit in the Boat house styled room (lovely designed). The Padarn offer a range of choices on their menu with food cooked to a good standard. Good value for money. Overall great experience and would return if visiting the area again.

We had a very comfortable three nights stay in January. The staff and owner couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome. They were friendly and very helpful. Our room was large, comfortable (had the largest bed we’ve ever slept in), well furnished and very clean. Our breakfast was well cooked and plentiful and catered well for our vegetarian needs - set us up well for days out hiking in the mountains. Dinner was well cooked, with a range of items (again catering well for us veggies) - the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Service was friendly and helpful, and quick.

I visited with a group of friends hoping for a relaxed and welcoming meal. We arrived without a booking, and on a busy Saturday night we’re told there would be an hours wait for a table. No problem, we were a large party so we’re glad they could fit us in at all. After waiting in the bar, we were duly called to our table. So far so good.

We only ate here, and can certainly recommend it, had 6 evening meals, all different and were tasty and cooked well! Staff were courteous and friendly despite being very busy at times. Prices were fairly standard.

I've eaten here twice before and have returned each time because the food is quite good...however...

We have been here before and had great food. This visit we booked and on arrival our family party of 6, were shown to a table. We were next to a couple of ladies, mums that were clearly the worse for drinking all afternoon. (The more sober mum told us they had been drinking all afternoon) It looked like they had been served a fresh bottle of wine just before we arrived. One of the mums could not speak coherently and was staggering around, she had a child that was younger than 3 with her. She fell twice, knocking chairs over and spilling table contents on the floor. I and another patron helped her up. I offered to get them a taxi home, as I was worried that they could not look after the children and actually walk. The less drunk mum said its ok we don’t have far to go we are local and staggered off. All of this time the staff were in and out of the room, its the main way to the kitchen. Not one of them took any action to help this drunken customer who was responsible for a young child. When the staff arrived to clear their table, i asked if i could speak to the manager, one of them, identified himself as the supervisor and said there was no manager, I asked to speak to him. I politely in a low voice spoke so that no other customers could hear. I said that the Padarn had a duty of care towards its customers and that they should have intervened with the clearly drunken mum. He said we are really busy and had 100 customers to look after and could not do anything. I said regardless, he still had a duty to protect people from becoming too intoxicated and had continued to serve the mums alcohol. He said you are really rude and continued to repeat this and then said “I’ll report you to the manager.” I said i will look forward to speaking to him and sat down. Later a lady arrived at our table and identified herself as the owner. SHe was very conciliatory and did say that she would check the cctv. I said that I had been called very rude by her supervisor a number of times, and that actually i had not been rude. I had simply pointed out the duty of care that Padarn has to its customers. I repeated this 3 times and did not get an apology or any acknowledgement that there would be any action taken. The owner was very polite. Time ticked on and we were not offered another drink, despite other customers around us being served drinks.

After waiting for 45 minutes to be seated we then had to wait for our meals for nearly 90 minutes. Some of the party were told that they had run out of mash potatoes but were offered other potatoes as an alternative (do you own or know how to use a potato masher?).

Great little place, rooms clean tidy and spacious. The restaurant had a varied menu which catered for most allergens including Gluten Free. Breakfast was continental, full English or anything in between. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the prices were very reasonable.

Decor was good and the staff were very friendly. The food was simple and came quickly, but at this price I would expect a bit more.

We enjoyed vegan bean chilli with mixed vegetables, not too spicy, and ceasar salad with a generous portion of chicken and interesting leaves. Sadly no waffles available for dessert. Friendly service and convenient location.

Enjoyed our dinner here. Good food in a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. We had the specials which I think was around 15 pounds for the two meals. The Hunters Chicken was very yummy.

You can eat here oke but is an average experience. We had to send the starter back and had to wait too long for our our food. Service was nice and done but an enthusiastic but unexperience young man.

Visited this place with my boyfriend hoping for a fuelling lunch before we climbed Snowdon. We chose this place as it was almost completely empty [should have heard warning bells] and so we hoped for a speedy service. Oh, how wrong we were!

We ordered chilli concarn and lamb taurine for dinner. Service was very good. Chilli was cold and lacked any chilli. The let down. The taurine was good. Also had a crusty sourdough roll with butter this was very good.

First Visit as did the Sports Bar last August 2017 - so this was a pleasant surprise. Stayed in one of the themed bars with Warren David Directors Chair ( who doesnt live too far way from me - honest). No Welsh Beer and Hand Pump was my only disappointment - had bottles instead.

In the six nights we stayed in Llanberis we visited this restaurant three times, it was that good. We had a table at the back overlooking the garden and the nearby football field. The staff were friendly and efficient, the quality of the food was outstanding. This was especially so as it was available at pub food prices. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. And if you go try the sticky toffee pudding, it is the best I have tasted.

We loved this place so much we ate here two out of three nights on our short visit to Llanberris. The food was plentiful, tasty and simply delicious. The cod looked like mini whales - but sadly, and this is my only negative point, the batter was almost half an inch thick, which in my opinion spoilt the fish. Would I go back? Of course I would. Every time!

We ran the national 3 peaks and needed a place to shower and unwind, without hesitation they accommodated us and cooked us a breakfast which was amazing. Such helpful staff and would recommend to everyone who visits Llanberis if you want to be looked after then this is the hotel for you thank you so much. The lady on reception (forgot her name) what a lovely helpful lady and I believe Natthew who works here too wonderful service. Also the mother daughter housekeeping wonderful service. Popped in around 8pm on a Wednesday. Reasonably busy. We were not greeted with a smile but were seated within a couple of minutes. Waitress came first to ask for a drinks order. When our drinks came the waitress took our order. My Cajun chicken burger was a giant chunk of breast of chicken with just the right amount of spice. Decent mixed salad leaves garnish. Red cabbage red onion slaw. Giant chunky chips. At first I thought the sour dough bun was too big. But it was light and fluffy despite the crusty exterior. A decent meal. I found the bench seating a little uncomfortable after a little while. Next time I would sit at a table with proper chairs. Had to go find the waitress to pay the bill but based on my first visit I would return.

Just amazing. Huge plates and super delicious food at budget prices. 5 of us had most of the dishesh from the menu and they were all large portions and super delicious.

Visited for dinner as we were staying fairly locally. Probably one of the nicer places to eat in Llanberis, the hotel itself looked quite inviting. Dinner was average, nothing exceptional but it tasted home cooked and fresh. The service throughout though was really great and this really made our evening.

Whilst my 2 brothers were clambering along in a 19km ‘walk’ over Snowdon I drove to Llanberis to meet them.

We stayed here for two nights and were very comfortable. the room was nice with lots of storage space if you are staying longer, the shower is adequate, but, an 'over the bath' type so not luxurious. We had breakfast there on both mornings and one lunch, the food was good. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We stopped here, while waiting for the rest of our party to finish climbing snowdon. Made to feel very welcome staff very friendly. Made a joke about stealing there Welsh flag, owner laughed 5 minutes later he presented me with a new Welsh flag. Decided to stay for food as rest of group still climbing, food was amazing, beer garden was very well kept and son had a ball pretending to paddle the boat. Loved the who place really made the trip.

We had a good meal here and it was by far the best we had in llanberis. Good variety of beers and gluten free catered for.
