Whilst I would like to say I eat here I didn’t as whilst being a restaurant they decided to stop serving food. At first this was for 10 minutes then we were told an hour by a very rude member of staff who turned out to be the manager. So this is 2:00pm on a bank holiday possibly there were staff issues which meant the kitchen was busy but it was the utter rudeness of the manager who when challenged did not apologise. There were no signs up to say food was not being served and considering people were still entering when we left I find the lack of customer care pretty poor. The young lady who served us behind the bar was very professional and even looked a little taken aback by the manager’s tone to her and us. So whilst the food maybe good the manager needs to remember no matter how stressed you are we do not know why and that is no excuse to be rude to a stranger let alone a customer who has done nothing other than try and order some food in a red

On Sunday just gone, at 2pm whilst the car park was full and there was a good deal of adventure activity, a group of seven of us approached the cafe to be greeted by a dour manager who said that they were not serving hot food. I said no problem, we just wanted a coffee after a great four hour walk over the hills nearby. He then said that they were only serving drinks to their 'paying customers', meaning the bikers and zip liners. The cafe missed out on likely a six or seven pound spend per person, likely coffee and cake and the experience will see us NOT revising the area or recommending Zip World.

I waited in here whilst the family went and did the zip wire. Had a full English breakfast with a few extra bits as I was hungry following a morning run. Apart from the tomato everything was hot and freshly cooked. Though I was missing the butter. Ordered through the app but I couldn't find fresh orange juice which was a shame. Would happily eat there again if returning to zip world.

They had no pizzas They got one of the mains mixed up, which we still had to pay for as well as the original meal we had asked for. Food really wasn’t good, the salad had been sitting for a while, chicken and burger was dry and bland. Overall wasn’t impressed.

The cafe is dirty, there's a disturbing number of bottles, stirring sticks, sugar sachets dropped in the outdoor seating area. Indoors, you have a mixture of what seems to be extractor fans and loud music being played at a level at which it's impossible to have a conversation with either the people you came with or the staff without raising your voice. We were charged £11 for four hot drinks, served in cardboard cups. None of the tea/coffee were great. I'm puzzled by this place. ZipWorld is touted as one of top tourist attractions, yet this cafe is just nothing. There's so much potential here, but you feel nobody really cares about the service, the customer experience or giving people a reason to either return or recommend it to someone else.

It's a new building, and a little industrial inside. With plenty of seating available, there are great views over the quarry. Good choice of food, although portion sizes are a little on the small side. We were a large group (30+) in for Christmas lunch, and service was fast and efficient. Whilst food and service are good, it lacks character inside and has the feel of a canteen. Perhaps it was intended to resemble a quarryman's 'caban' in which case a stove and fire might have added some warmth.

This is above the Bethesda Quarry and the base for the Velocity zip wire so has a bit of a captive market, but this shouldn't be a reason to charge so much for drinks - a small mug of hot water with a tea bag for £2.95! a flat white for the same. The food isn't any different. Whilst we didn't sample the food we saw others with quite small portions and overheard conversations moaning about how much they'd paid for the food. A group of us had a meal here after finishing a ZipWorld weekend on Velocity, before heading back off for an 8 hour drive back home. I hadn't expected anything much, most food outlets at themed attractions are usually overpriced garbage. You just have to eat it because you don't have any other choice, while burning with resentment at the ridiculously inflated price you just paid for that garbage. But I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. To be fair, it looks a bit like the cafeteria in Ikea, hence being prepared for a mediocre meal. But the food we received was delicious. It was all cooked beautifully and very nicely presented, with good sized portions that kept us satisfied for the long drive home.My husband and I both had the Welsh Rarebit. It was gorgeous! A couple of our vegetarian friends were extremely pleased with their veggie burger dishes. It did look amazing.Well done ZipWorld for not being one of those attractions that sticks in a poor quality fast food joint that rips people off. I wish more businesses in the tourist attractions trade would take a leaf out of your book. Part of a good experience is also sharing a good meal with your friends / family whilst there. Thanks to all staff at Blondin for adding that little extra enjoyment that topped off our awesome weekend with ZipWorld.

This relatively new addition to the amazing Zip World, is perfect in every way, great views, airy and spacious and well stocked bar, servery area, etc. The menu is interesting, pretty basic but good enough to satisfy any appetite, So why am I complaining? I couldn’t ‘fly’ because of a heart and digestion problem, so whilst I watched my colleagues join in I asked about breakfast and was told it was served until 12 noon. So at 11 30 I ordered my omelette, the order was taken but the assistant was told it was too late for breakfast, despite the assurance I could order till 12. I enquired why, expecting the answer the kitchen was flooded with orders, but was surprised to be told it depended on the mood of the chef! Clearly he was not in a good mood that morning. Instead I ordered a ham and tomato sandwich and joined my friends at their table. All the rest were served but mine didn’t turn up. I enquired why and was told it had - it most certainly hadn’t, it was then discovered it was given to someone else under the guise of BLT, it was only when he bit into it that this was discovered. Eventually my sandwich did arrive, together with a bowl of chips as an apology, something I didn’t want. But my friend never did get his BLT sandwich.

I came to watch my mother do the zipline which I'd bought her for her birthday. My partner, son and I sat outside and had a few drinks whilst we watched. I'd ordered a drink at the bar then went back outside and waited. About 10 minutes had passed so I started questioning myself as to whether I'd given the girl at the bar the right table number as we had previously been sat at another table but had moved because of the sun and to get a better view. I went up to bar and said that I'm not sure if I'd given you the right table number before as we'd moved seats. The girl, who was the same girl who originally served me, said not to worry and proceeded to get me my drink. She goes to hand over the drink and then tries to charge me. I explained that I have already paid for the drink and that I've been sat outside waiting and that's why I've come in thinking maybe I've given the previous table number by mistake. She then asks me to come and show her where we was sitting and where we're sitting now, which I did. I then say to her look no empty cider bottle or anything (except for my previous beer glass which at the time I didn't realise was still on the table therefore my table hadn't been cleared) which her response was well I've just seen my colleague walk in with a load of glasses. My response was to say that she was basically inferring that I'm lying. She could obviously see I was becoming irate at this point as she asked me to come into the bar which I did. In the bar she said to me that she remembers me coming into the bar and one of her colleagues served me, which was true and then I explained that I had been in again since then and ordered another drink from her which she denied. According to her she remembers everyone she has served and she would of remembered serving me. I was very troubled by this because clearly a woman that can remember every interaction with every customer they have should not be working behind a bar as they're clearly destined for greater things. Anyway, after standing there arguing with her and being made to feel like some scruffy scrounger trying to get myself a free drink she finally handed me the drink with the attitude of there you go now go away and shut up. Furious, I then went and sat outside and had my drink and tried to calm down. I decided I wasn't happy with the way that ended and phoned the bank to see exactly time that transaction had gone through so I could tell them the exact time to check the cctv at. I spoke to the manager and told him what had happened. He asked me to describe who it was I was dealing with and told him slim, black hair with red tints or a streak or something and he said he knew who I was talking about. He offered to refund the drink, which I declined, as it wasn't about the drink it was about how I was treated. The manager said he didn't have access to the cctv, which I believe, but I would love management to check the cctv at 17:35 on 24/06/18, which is the time of the transaction on the bank statement and show the girl involved that she is capable of making mistakes and probably shouldn't take her photographic memory, which claims to have, too seriously. 10 or 15 minutes later you'll then see me stood at the bar arguing with her. I specifically remember talking to her because I asked for a pint of rekorderlig which she replied we don't do that on draught and I felt a bit silly for asking as I know it normally comes in bottles. Also, whilst I'm complaining, prior to the incident with the other interactions I had with her at the bar she kept calling me 'mate' which just came across as unprofessional. I didn't want a free drink, I didn't want the drink refunding after the incident, all I want is for management to show her the cctv footage of her serving me which she denied ever happened, to burst her little ego bubble and show her she is just as capable as the rest of us of making a mistake.

Confusing ordering system, you can't order a drink at the bar. After finding the cashier to order, was left perplexed after why the cashier took orders from people who obviously came later than us. Cashier was happy to chat with locals, was short and prompt with me. Not a pleasant experience after the buzz of zipworld.

We waited here prior to going on velocity, my parents had snacks and drinks we held off till after doing zipwire staff were very attentive and efficient although ordering and paying system at bit of an experience but fine once you get your head round it. Good choice of food and drink average prices, dont wait long even though quite busy, toilet facilities nice and clean and there is a lift to resteraunt and veiwing gallery, made our wait much more comfortable.

Three of us had lunch here after going on Velocity (I don’t think I could have eaten first!) on a Saturday. I expected it to be busier as there were a lot of people about. The food was excellent. We all had the sweet potato fries which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. My bean burger (a double “patty”) was one of the nicest I’ve ever had. It came on a soft brioche bun with a tasty beetroot relish. The other two enjoyed theirs (a chicken and a beef burger) but they said mine looked better. The staff were lovely. The only niggle was the queue to pay - you have to go to the till to pay but there was only one member of staff there so the queue was quite big.

We visited this restaurant a few days ago when we traveld around Wales. The food was fantastic. I ate a chicken burger with avocado and sweetpotato fries. The service was fast and most of the staff was helpful and polite.

After the zip wire we ate at the Blondin restaurant for an early dinner at around 6.30 and we were really surprised that no one else was in the restaurant, a couple of people came in for a drink about 15 minutes after us, but the restaurant was empty when we left. We had a table next to the window with a view of the zip and quarry. The waitress was really friendly, although the bar staff hadn't told her that they no longer had any bottles of ale my partner had requested and he ended up with the lager. which he managed to swap with a draught pint. The three of us ordered burgers (£12.50 each) and they kindly swapped my mayo for the beetroot relish. My partner had the beef burger and although he didn't request the bacon and cheese the burger came with it. So although there were some slight errors with the order for my partner. the food was tasty. We didn't have dessert but at £5.95 they were erring on the expensive side for the type of restaurant. Would have ideally given a 3.5.

We live near the Zip Line and Blondin Restaurant. Following a family meet and Zip down the lines we all had lunch in the new restaurant. The food selection was what I would describe as posh "American" which is very tasty. Our group all had either the chicken fillet in a brioche bun or the burgers. It was a little expensive for what it was. I also wish we had gone for food before our zip as I have heard the breakfasts are excellent from many people. The service was OK

We ate here after the zip wire, and the food was great. Excellent sweet potato fries! It's great fun watching people flying past on the zip wires! The only negative is that the set up is a funny combination of cafe and restaurant. It feels like a nice cafe, but you order at your table, and pay at your table instead of a counter. We almost forgot to pay as it feels like the sort of place you pay with your order, and we felt a bit awkward when the waiter reminded us as we got up to leave!I had a coffee earlier as I was waiting for my family to do the zip wire. I wasn't impressed with the service. I went to the bar to order and the two young women serving were chatting and didn't acknowledge me immediately and then told me it was table service, which wasn't obvious at all. If I was managing the place, I would change to a counter order and pay system.

We went to see people riding the zip wires. Exciting! We stopped for lunch and the snack, Welsh rarebit, was good. The dessert, however, was a mistake. The bread-and-butter pudding was ordinary and the portion was small. The £6 that I paid for it was an absolute rip-off. Yes, try the snacks but avoid the desserts! Also be prepared to wait - service was rather slow.

Very VERY angry and disappointed at being spoken to rudely, after an older man (member of staff) rushed down the stairwell and demanded that we pay! He shouted in front of customers at us and said ‘are you GOING to pay’!! We HAD paid and my friend swiftly held the receipt at him. I’m sure he felt like an idiot after behaving like that. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy and if he knew how to do his job professionally he would have checked with one of his colleagues before accusing us as thieves. Very disappointed at this and I shall be making a formal complaint. He needs to go on a training course to provide adequate customer service. Or find a job without the general public

Purpose built reception area for zip world which provides an excellent platform to watch the zip wire. It is also the home to a good licensed restaurant. We had breakfast with good choice of your normal suspects, the full Welsh breakfast was excellent with a good range of coffee options to boot. Weather was a bit moody on the day so you cannot even see the to of the larger zip wire.

As we were staying in the local area and visiting Zip world the next day, we visited the restaurant on a recommendation. So glad we did. The restaurant was new, warm and welcoming. The wairesses Abby and Stacey were an absolute pleasure and although it was busier than expected, did their absolute best to ensure we were well looked after. The food was amazing and well presented. We had chosen off the special menu which was 3 courses and it was excellent value for money. For starters we had pate and the salmon. The main courses we had were the fish and the lamb. Both were delightful but the lamb was extremely tender and well worth a try.To finish we had the chocolate brownie and the lemon tart. Both lovely and highly recommended. As an end note, the toilets are extremely modern and clean with a refreshing design.

We had a lovely birthday lunch for a rather large group including children of all ages. Everyone was well catered for and left happy. The staff did a brilliant job coping with such a large group at short notice. They were all cheery and made us feel very welcome. The food arrived quickly and all of the plates went back empty. The space is large enough to accommodate lots of people without feeling crowded and they have plenty of high chairs plus a reasonably priced kids menu on offer. These things are important when dining with children! The views were incredible on a snowy afternoon and are definitely a key feature. Thanks for a nice afternoon.

Visited with friends who live locally and I'm sure we will return. The cafe is located right in the heart of the mountains and slate quarries, which on this occasion were lightly dusted with snow, giving the views all around us an Alpine look. The Zip World building is rather like something you'd find in a ski resort too, with huge balconies outside for observing the Zip Wire in action. Late on a cold, dark January afternoon, the place was very quiet, but it is off season, and with a bit more marketing and time, the cafe should hopefully build up a reputation. The service was very prompt, professional and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed their food orders, with much praise for the Burger, and the fries. The menu looks interesting, so I'd like to try something else next time - such as the butternut squash and cheese toastie. A nice place to eat with friends after a good walk, and we felt warm and relaxed. It has a bar too, so you can enjoy a beer or a warm drink, even if you're not eating. Some of the pricing seems a bit over the top (£9.50 for a cooked breakfast, or £12.50 for a burger & fries) but if you are on a budget, there are some cheaper options.

Booked in the restaurant as it was my husband's 40th and he was doing the Velocity zip wire. Super friendly welcome on arrival by excellent waiting staff. I had a 1.5 hour wait on my own whilst he did the activity and I got chatting to the staff. Ordered coffee, food, drinks and all were lovely. The baked Alaska was the best I've ever had (shame it's coming off the menu!).Staff had laid us a table for my husband's birthday and also bought him a drink on the house to celebrate. Chap behind the bar told me all about the Hotel Chocolate hot chocolate they serve and how it was fair trade, very interesting. Then I got chatting to one of the other waiters (sorry I can't remember your name, from up North like me!) and he was just so friendly. I note there are bad reviews on here but they are obviously teething problems... this place is newly opened and the staff are so eager to get everything right which is lovely to see. I'm confident next year this place will be 'the place to be'.Haven't mentioned the view.... Wow just wow. Thanks for a lovely day and we will definitely be back!!Sarah & Dave x

Booked a xmas party for 7 ladies and thought we would support local business, the day before we were contacted by the management asking if we would go the following weekend instead because there were no other bookings, some of our party had other plans so this wasn't possible so we asked for a refund, this was flatly refused, dressed up sadly knowing that this was going to be a disaster we had no choice or loose our £30 a head, we went to our much looked forward to xmas party, this was the saddest party you could imagine! Well done to the waiting staff, chef and entertainment, but a party night is not 7 people in a huge room and over at 9pm, very disappointed appalling management behaviour, if they would have refunded we would have returned in the future, this will not be happening now! 7 very very disappointed customers no atmosphere!

So disappointing, we had looked forward to spending the evening at the Blondin restaurant for a Christmas party night with friends. We arrived around 7 pm, only to find out that we were the only party booked for that evening. To be fair, there was another family in the restaurant, they had already eaten and left quite early as there were a number of young children in their party. Although we were entertained by two guitarists it was not what we had expected. The guitarists left at around 9 p.m. and we left at soon afterwards. The staff seemed to be hanging around with little to do, waiting for us to leave. Having advertised this as a ‘party night’, we felt that the management at Blondin restaurant could have at least informed us of the situation beforehand, and given us the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund. This was a nice meal out with friends but was lacking in atmosphere and it certainly was not what was expected of a party night. Very disappointed!
