When arrive there we were greeted that is it close and the lady said only for take away but the 4 ladies behind us we greeted differently I don’t know who is that lady greeting customers she said to the other ladies behind us yes it is still open I felt disappointed with their customer service Treating as if we cannot pay

Far too tempting for me not to stop as I was finishing a cycle ride. Great food as ever. I'll have to get my car driving friends to bring me out here to check this place out one evening.

Fabulous food, freshly cooked to order, and a great menu of hot and cold seafood tapas. Always busy but worth the wait. Basic outdoors decor but don't be put off - the food is amazing and you can always walk over to the forest and picnic.

We love fish, so thought it would be worth the Epping trip. Shack is probably correct. The queue was all over the place. Finding a table was a bit of a dash and grab. Making sure you got one, even though it didn't seemed to have been cleaned for a number of previous diners. An envious friend had suggested the 'Hot platter'. Mistake. Next time (if fighting London traffic is worth it ?), I will just pick something I know I like. Although we all like fish, it seemed our tastes were too similar. Many items we all liked and had very similar favourites. Whereas there were a few none of us really appreciated. Bottom of the list was the faff of shelling the King prawns. Actually we also had a separate plate of cod's cheeks - lovely. Matching up getting the very interesting large platter with a side order of chips and a few drinks from the pub actually worked very well. I am glad I did it once, but for distance reasons, I may not rush back.

Food is good. Price is right. staff are kind. there is always a queue so be prepared to wait. Oysters are lush and freshly shucked in front of you. The seating area needs more work, it's always dirty, messy and untidy. People tend to just drop things everywhere. If it's a nice day, you can take you food to the fields and enjoy a picnic.

After a long walk in Epping Forest, I was looking forward to lunch at this ‘fish tapas’ restaurant. Service was a bit indifferent, but the food itself was very good. Too bad everything is served on styrofoam trays (at least the forks were sustainable) and you’re effectively sitting next to a car park. Not sure I’ll be going back, even though the food tasted great.

The food was really good. We had sharing dishes of scampi, calamari and scallops as well as a fantastic bacon and scallop roll. Everything was being cooked to order, so completely fresh. It was well cooked, affordably priced and the place was busy, busy, busy. Seating was outside at picnic tables, with drinks available from the inn side of the business. It was rather cold but at least it wasn’t raining! There was plenty of free parking.

This was the worst customer service I have ever received. I walked in and was standing waiting to be served and was ignored so I asked where do I go to be served, low and behold I was in the right place. It was uninviting, unfriendly and cold. I felt like he did not want to serve me and I was invisible. It was horrible and disgusting behaviour. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. Treat people how you want to be treated and the portion was small for the price.

Dasha was absolutely fantastic we never booked and she was able to accommodate us party of 7, especially been bank holiday and putting up with my bad joke. Very warm and friendly welcome.

We were just looking for a place to hang out, preferably a seafood restaurant. We stumbled on this gem somewhere near Epping forest. Absolutely delicious seafood. What hits you is the freshness of everything, from the lobster tail, the scallops, squids, crabs, King prawns and the oysters that I tried and loved for the first time! No paparazzi. They cook the hot plate right there for you to see, and the open the oyster - fresh and sooo lovely. I'm going back, I cannot say more. The staff were beyond awesome - thank you for the oyster induction

This is a really great “different” seafood place. It’s next to a hotel in the middle of the forest. We started with a cooked seafood platter and then had loads of different seafood pots, all were around a fiver and finished off with a platter of fresh oysters. Don’t expect “posh” but do expect fabulous quality and as much or as little as you want to order. Lovely if you want to do something slightly different to a boring restaurant!!

Such a great atmosphere aswell as having some of the best seafood I’ve ever tasted. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Visited today and can I say that it’s a shame I’ve waited this long, started with 6 oysters severed on ice with lemon & shallot vinegar as it should be! So then jumbo prawn in garlic like your fore arm, hello a £10! So went mango prawns x 6 n chilli prawns x6 per portion! Yes I needed to then try everything! Not going to bore you with the rest of the menu I tried! Wen I say bore, I’d just go on n on how good it was! Go try it and most of all the guys Dean, Steve and chef Ben, there was another chef but didn’t get his name! All top guys with your best interest at heart. Amazing lunch at High Beech. Oysters were my partners choice and she said they were to die for. Fabulous lunch here with super fresh seafood, and in my view great value for something this amazing.

Had heard so much about here but not visited. Decided to got for a lockdown forest walk and then finished here with a hot lunch of curried prawns and mango and tempura prawns. Both were great value for money. Was good to see the place so busy. Will visit again.

We spotted this when on a lockdown walk in Epping Forest. I went for the bacon and scallop roll and it was gorgeous. Highly recommended if you are passing. Take out only in lock down - hopefully visit again in the summer when things are...
