Otto Lounge in Wirral

Ordered a chicken Katsu burger. Not sure why it was called this as had no resemblance to chicken katsu. Chicken piece was tasteless, tiny and covered half the burger. If the chicken was so small they should have added 2 to cover the entire burger. Honestly the worst burger I’ve ever had. Disappointed to have spent £15 on this.

Really delicious breakfast, spotlessly clean and really friendly and helpful service.

Great choice for a late breakfast/ brunch. Giving ‘Central Perk’ vibes. Great atmosphere with tasteful background music. Very varied menu. The food, the service & the entire venue were top notch. I would highly recommend.

This was honestly one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life walking in here. We walked in and waited at the sign that asked us to wait to be seated. We waited for about 5 minutes and I think 3 or 4 staff members walked past, looked at us and didn’t even acknowledge us in any way, no head nod, no ‘someone will be with you in a sec’ or a ‘go grab a seat’ (there was plenty) just nothing Me and my friend give each other the ‘this is weird right?’ look to each other at least 3 times whilst we were waiting. Eventually a young lass pointed us to a table but the energy was just sooo weird, so uncomfortable No one had done anything that we could even say was impolite really but I’ve never been made to feel so unwelcome in a restaurant before. We didn’t even sit down before my friend said ‘do you want to go’ and I was like ‘absolutely!’ I’ve never wanted to get out of a place so fast before Think I’ll stick to Marino’s from now on

It's great to find somewhere with so much choice if you have food intolerances/ allergies.The staff know their stuff and prices are reasonable. Recommended

We have been to a few 'Lounge' restaurants so when we saw this one we decided to give it a try. The service was very, very slow. Several customers who came in after us were served before us, and some had finished and left before our food came. It wasn't even that busy! The food was lovely, but don't visit if you're going anywhere else afterwards.

Lovely chilled out venue. Always plenty of seats, but never empty -full of atmosphere. Have been twice in a week, first for a full fry up, second for buttermilk pancakes.. Both were excellent. And let's not forget to mention the freshly squeezed orange juice that's so so yummy! Highly recommend.

Went in here as we had been turned away from The Prense Well. So glad thisbhappenes! We were welcomed with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was beautiful and ery good value for money. We will be back - first time here and we were very impressed. Celebrating a family birthday here is well worth it.

Sadly, on this visit, 3rd, January, the Otto Lounge front of house were not the usual welcoming and attentive staff. Although the place was busy, there were a few vacant tables but we were told to "We're busy, come back in 20 minutes". Not the usual welcome we have received on our numerous prior visits. Has there been a change of management? Perhaps an explanation to us that there may be a wait for food, but an offer to grab a drink from the bar would have been better? Not content with hanging around in freezing temperatures, we popped into the competition across the road. Otto, you can do better.

Called in for coffee, no problem although near lunch time . Made welcome and served promptly , lovely relaxed atmosphere and good mix of people also dog friendly. Eclectic decor and local feel while part of national company. Recommend .

Always choose Otto when want to eat in Heswall. Here is a couple of reasons: - it’s dog friendly! - Huge Gluten free and vegan menus. People with intolerances/allergies will find something. Stuff is very helpful when choosing something safe. - Great atmosphere. Always according to the season.

Otto Lounge is a great all rounder! Whether I’m catching up with friends, dining out with the family ( kids and dogs included), cosying up with the hubby or simply relaxing with a good book and people watching… there’s always a warm welcome from the team of amazing staff. The food is consistently good and the background playlist is a great bonus!

Good brunch - lounge breakfast for £10.50. Hot Chocolate was not very hot! Popular place around noon on a Saturday. Happy to go there again.

Lovey atmosphere. Always busy and vibrant. Gorgeous decoration. Clean toilets. I love this place. A little gem. Even just for a coffee, it’s a lovely place.

Absolutely lovely, their elderflower and lemon soda drink is to die for. Could of drank them all day. Had the twisted chicken club, not a fan of guacamole, but was nice on the sandwich. Would definitely go again to try something else. Lovely atmosphere and staff where friendly and attentive.

We were visiting the area because our daughter was at an all-day sports competition. We found this restaurant nearby for brunch. It was perfect. Spacious, food lovely and very pleasant staff. We enjoyed it so much we went back for lunch with family who loved fairly close by. Definitely recommend.

There was a cake sale on the Friday that I visited here. Service wasn't too bad, but not much interaction with the customers.

Service amazing, food amazing, 100% reccomend, I got the big vegan breakfast and it was the best breakfast I've ever had! And the coffee was also very good, one of the best coffees I've ever had in the wirral. Oo and I love how it is very child friendly! Menu to colour in, pens and toys, my 2 year old was so busy colouring I actually ate and drank while my food was hot 🙏😂

Such a refreshing change! A full gluten free menu, I was over the moon!! And my meal was delicious I think I may have danced a little whilst eating! Cannot express how wonderful it is to have so much choice when gluten free and to be able to enjoy a meal out with my family. Thank you 🙏🏼

Second time we have been here food very good both times, drinks ok for a pint of Diet Coke, first time we had buttermilk chicken really good, yesterday we had avocado, bacon burger and I had the Nasi Goreng( chicken and prawn fried rice with a egg on top ) nicest I have tasted we will be back

OMG, what a gem of a place this is. I can't believe I haven't been here before. The first thing I want to say is how impressed I was with the service. All the staff we interacted with were a delight and a real credit to the business. Also, my wife has a dairy and gluten intolerance, and I was very impressed with the staffs care and understanding and also with the choices available to her as some establishments don't have that much choice. I think the menu choices overall are excellent and very reasonably priced, from a variety of all-day brunches, salads, sandwiches, flat breads, and burgers, to name a few, even an offering of tapas, which after pondering I decided to get and I was not disappointed. 3 plates for £12.50. My choices- crispy chicken wings with siracha and honey( very tasty indeed ), patatas bravas, and for me, what can only be described as a flavour bomb- mini brisket chilli( this was insanely good ), and added a garlic ciabatta for an extra £3 ish. My wife had smoked salmon on gf muffin and poached eggs. They even changed the hollandaise sauce for her due to her intolerance, which I thought was just wonderful. Some other places we've been to could definitely learn from here. On the whole, this is a place we hadn't heard of but will most definitely be shouting about to others and, of course, returning. ( Returned a week or so ago and not disappointed )

Great gluten free lounge breakfast only issue was that food wasn't very hot

Great food at a very good price, staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is great. Well worth a visit. If you go Monday or Tuesday evening have food deals on. A big plus is lots of gluten free food and a separate gluten free menu.

I came here with friends from work last week and was so impressed came back today for a late lunch with my husband. The food was delicious, and yet again the service was amazing.... Thank you Shaun, you looked after us so well!! 😊 Our new go to place and 100 percent recommend. Well done guys and thank you!

Great place to eat and really friendly and accommodating staff!

We were looking for a restaurant in Heswall that was both dog friendly and with a good vegan menu, as our daughter and her boyfriend are vegans, and decided to try the Otto Lounge. The atmosphere inside is very laid back and great for a casual meal and drinks. Our daughter was very impressed with the vegan menu choices, and we chose several tapas plates as a starter and each had a different main course. All of the food was well prepared and very tasty, and the Nasi Goreng that I had was excellent. The prices were very reasonable and the service was quick and friendly. We had an enjoyable time at the Otto Lounge and will try it again soon.

Fathers day treat! Great food, great atmosphere, they allow dogs and the service was very friendly and welcoming. I searched for a gluten free restaurant as we have an allergy issue in our family.. this place was very aware of the problem and are the best place we've ever been to that deals with such issues. Will definitely be going back again

Although Otto wasn’t present to watch me enjoy my breakfast, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend using the nourishment here to satiate your inner gizzard.

Been here several times for a breakfast a lunch and dinner. Food always beautifully cooked, nice selection on menu too. Staff are lovely and helpful and a really nice relaxed atmosphere. Definatly recommend.

Visited for breakfast. Good menu choice and decided on the lounge breakfast. My partner went for the miami brunch. Ordered at the bar. The lounge was busy and a bit of a wait for the food. But it was worth waiting for. Perfectly cooked hot food, tasty too. After a poor experience elsewhere earlier in the week, it was reassuring to find somewhere that still knows how to cook a good breakfast and serve it well.

My Daughter has just been diagnosed with celiac disease so we tried here for our first family meal out together as it has a full gluten free menus. The service was great the manager took our order due to the allergy and they we very friendly. My Daughter really enjoyed her meal especially the hot brownies and ice cream at the end. All the rest of the food was lovely as well and it was all reasonably priced. We will definitely go again

Our first time here, but not our last. From the outside I expected this to be all shiny and modern inside, not my cup of tea and so I haven't visited before. How lovely once you walk in though.. cosy, bright, welcoming, really nice ambience. Dogs and children welcome but they were all really well behaved. Nice vibe

Great spot with friendly staff. Food came quickly and was on point

I wanted a fry up and what I got hit the spot! Everything was lovely and there was very nearly too much. I didn't eat again until very late on that night. Menu is large without being overwhelming and it's a lovely place to sit even if you just want some drinks. Will definitely be going back next time I want another fry up fix

Ideal visit in a rustic setting with atmosphere. Friendly staff and quick service. Good range of choice from menu, whether just a coffee or a meal.

This is a lovely restaurant with very friendly and capable staff. It never seems to be overfull which is surprising as it does some really nice food from a good selection menu. We went for a family-meal and enjoyed a range of Tappas and other dishes which were tasty and very reasonable. There was hardly any waiting time and the staff were always available without being intrusive.

Such a fun evening tapas and bingo. the whole staff team from kitchen waiting on and bar staff not forgetting Sean bingo calling made it a fun relaxed night they went out of there way to make sure everyone had a fabulous evening. We certainly did the restaurant was so busy the legs on the staff couldn't move fast enough. If you want a fun casual evening pre book your ticket and have some relaxed casual fun

A really nice place to eat. I go quite often with my mum for lunch. The staff are really friendly and welcome queries about the menu. One of staff members recommended the Bang Bang Chicken / Cauliflower. We both had one of these dishes and we both really enjoyed it! We'll be back soon!

Very relaxed lounge atmosphere, lovely staff and nice food

We've had tapas at this Place in the afternoon before which was great but we didn't realise they had such a good evening vibe. Ben greeted us at the door and explained the menu/cocktails with a super warm, friendly attitude which made us feel right at home. Once we had decided what we wanted edd made the most spectacular cocktails... we will definitely visit again. A really lovely, friendly bar with the best staff

Gluten free menu! I went to the Otto Lounge yesterday for a breakfast. I chose this place as it had a Gluten free menu. I was amazed how extensive the GF menu was. Almost as many meals to choose from as the normal menu- breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, mains and puddings. I ordered a full English. The staff enquired about my intolerance and explained how they are mindful of cross contamination of food in the kitchen. The breakfast was really tasty, nice GF brown bread (which is hard to find), hash browns, sausage etc all really nice. Look forward to my next visit.

Poor service ( actually no service ), Ordered Avocado and egg on toast, actually got a very cold slice of un toasted white bread with a freezing cold piece of avocado and a cold egg, inedible! Couldn’t eat a thing This was our 2nd visit, our 1st I ordered a steak sandwich, which was a 4 inch ciabatta with a 1” piece of steak, I queried the serving size only to be told that the “management” instructed staff to serve a 0.5gm piece of meat at the ends of the sandwich so it look like the bread was full of filling

We booked and pre-ordered food for a family meal for 25 people including children. We had a brilliant experience of prompt service and good food. The staff were happy and friendly and they did a great job, getting all our food out together. Well done and thank you. We will definitely do that again.

My first impression is that it's quite a gloomy atmosphere with poor lighting. I understand the decor theme but find that this look has well passed its sell-by date. The food I had was mediocre and slightly overpriced.

Really improved since I last visited years ago. Food was delicious and perfect to requests. Service adorable v sweet girls make you feel like nothings a bother. Huge range of syrups for your coffee I had salted caramel cappuccino and it was gorgeous. Food came quickly. Only downside was screaming babies everywhere.

Casual dining and dog-friendly. Always good food and friendly service. Great cocktails and good draught beer selection.

Caters well for gluten free foods

I went for a meal at Otto's Lounge Cafe/Restaurant in the centre of Heswall on Saturday evening and service was good and friendly. I enjoyed a chicken based meal plus a glass of cider, plus several milk shakes and a desert to finish off the meal. The cafe was packed full of customers, mainly adults but several children were there too with their parents and everybody seemed relaxed and enjoying the atmosphere as well as their meals. I recommend you give it a try and do not think readers of this review will be disappointed. Service is quick and facilities on offer are as you would expect from a good restaurant. Well done to the staff running Otto's. Thanks.

We've had breakfast there on a few occasions and it's always good value. The menu is varied and caters for most tastes and I suppose the fact we've been there a few times and will go again speaks volumes.

Over priced for small portions for mediocre food. The shabby shic theme is increasingly just becoming shabby. Not even a sausage on a £9.50 vegan breakfast.

Ideal for meeting friends for food and drinks with our young kids . Relaxed atmosphere . Burgers are very good and a decent kids menu . I found the staff excellent and food came out quickly. Only minor complaint was the automatic door opening every-time a pedestrian passed on pavement outside . If you sit other end of restaurant it’s not an issue . Would recommend a visit .

We had lots tapas dishes and all of them were lovely. Staff are so friendly, nothing was a problem to them.

Me and my boyfriend come here for breakfast most weekends, it’s become our go to place because we always know the food will be spot on and we can never go wrong. Also been for lunch a few times and deffo need to come back for tapas. Staff always friendly and it’s nice that you can bring your dogs. Really relaxed and chilled vibe- and coffee’s are always fab too - lots of choice on the menu food and drink wise

I enjoy spending time at Otto Lounge owing to its open layout, casual and laid-back vibe, infused with a touch of Bohemian flair. The modern tunes playing in the background add to the ambiance, but they're never too overpowering, making it easy to engage in pleasant dialogues. There's a sense of privacy provided by the ample space, almost rendering a sense of anonymity. It's easy to find a secluded nook for intimate chats or solitary work. The pet-friendly nature due to its spacious layout is a bonus. The place has a multi-faceted appeal which makes it incredibly relaxing. The cuisine is quite delightful and the service is warm and welcoming. They have this personal touch, making a point to greet you as you walk in and bid farewell as you leave. And oh, running into John Barnes, the former Liverpool legend, now and then is a sweet little cherry on top.

Myself and my partner dined here this evening the food was diabolical, the service was poor and I would certainly not recommend you try here anytime soon.

Came here for lunch with a friend. Ordered the chargrilled chicken flatbread. My friend ordered the same but with chips also. The girl at the toll had a face like a wet weekend and looked like she didn’t want to be there which doesn’t help you enjoy the experience. When the food arrived the waiter placed my food in front of my friend first and I had a moment of confusion and thought the mini bucket of chips was on a plate with the flatbread and said to the gentleman, “oh, that one with the chips is for my friend instead”…and then I realised it wasn’t on a separate plate. It was on just the tray. But instead of laughing it off the waiter was very patronising and condescending saying “are you okay love do you need to have a lie down?” Which I thought was extremely rude, made me feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable. The flatbreads were extremely hard to cut into, so we had to ask for steak knives to cut into them, suggesting the bread was quite old or overcooked. This experience has put me off visiting again to be honest..

Really nice find in Heswall. Food and atmosphere were great with food well priced. Good selection of food and drink too. Staff were very polite and quick.

Have to be honest and say that I didn’t have particularly high expectations of this place, but I was wrong. Really tasty and reasonably priced tapas, which are served quickly. You pay as you go which makes it easier when dining with friends. A great place to feed hungry teenagers who do not like to wait for food. Also a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Compared to some of the posher (yet fairly mediocre in my view) eating establishments in Heswall, I think Otto is great!
