Ossett Spice in Wakefield

Well that’s me sold. New curry house favourite. Food was fresh and tasty and ample portions. Excellent.. honestly best curry I’ve had in ages

Asked for chicken tikka hardly no sauce with abit more chicken. Came smothered in sauce and so so sweet it was inedible even my wife said she couldn’t eat it. My wife did say abit like a chicken tikka main on the phone. Garlic chilli chicken my wife enjoyed. Garlic coriander nan was nice.Just a shame about the chicken tikka masala. Would even be happy for it to be swapped thanks mark

It was awful we usually get 2 sag aloos as this is not in the mains I don’t have a clue what we had delivered but that definitely did not look or taste like a normal saag aloo it was dry as owt sorry

Heard it had been taken over recently and was sceptical, but apart from the long delivery window, food was very nice.

Came completely wrong. Sent kebab in a wrap rather than a pitta. So my partner drove to the takeaway to tell them as phone conveniently wasn’t working. They said they didn’t do pittas coz they didn’t know how to make them.??? Odd thing to say from a takeaway!!.They gave us replacement but it was awful. So greasy and naan bread (which they knew how to cook) was hard and tasteless. Sorry to say we won’t order again since the new owners have taken over as it’s gone downhill. Last in back seems rude

New Management! Woman rude on phone,Put phone down on me while trying to get my reference number. Ordered Rezala got korma!! Won’t be ordering again. Not half as good as original owners. 3/10

Just had a takeaway delivered. And I must say the starters, which were mixed. Starter and lamb chops absolutely sublime. Then onto the curry chicken chilli Masala I am a curry connoisseur , however this curry Was one of the best I have ever had Keep up the good work Ossett spice 👍👍👍👍

Sorry guys but really disappointed tonight. Butter Curry seemed to be over buttered and the Ossett Spice Special didnt feel special, 2 prawns, 3 small bits of lamb and minimal chicken. Peppers over charred used to love it here

This place is a take out only. Don’t judge the exterior, it is the best curry in Wakefield hands down. Consistently good, no bells and whistles but so reasonably priced. It’s our go to takeaway. I simply don’t understand the negative reviews, if you want a decent curry - ossett spice should take your money.

Our first time ordering after moving to the area. Food was delivered quickly and was piping hot and just lovely. My search for a local quality Indian takeaway is over. Will definitely be regular customers from now on.

Little bit of chicken pieces the rest was the curry sauce but the fries were nice and chapatties didn't taste fresh at all and seemed to be warmed up in the microwave even though they don't take that long to make from fresh as I've made them myself easily.

The food was delicious, the order was a little late but the restaurant let us know so it was all good. We will definitely be ordering again 👍🏻

We ordered for 18.10 but the order didn’t arrive until 19.00, although we did get a warning it was going to be late at 18.02 but not by how much.

Always a great curry from Ossett Spice. Lamb bhuna abd. Ghost Palak Chana garlic. Both really nice, loved how much garlic was used. Mushroom rice was nice, but a bit too oily. Delivery was on time abd prices are reasonable! It’s our curry takeaway.

Food was awful. Chicken was dry and plastic texture. Popadoms were burnt. Naan bread overcooked but doughy inside. Rice was also very powdery all in all a disgusting meal.

Absolutely bang on as normal. Piping hot and tasty. Delivery driver also spot on, happy and smiling. I do have one negative though, they don’t have mint yoghurt on the menu to order🤣, but they came up trumps when asking for some in the notes. Great work guys, keep it up 😄

Seeing some of the reviews on here I'm just perplexed and wondering if some people are just intensely hard to please. We've tried several different take aways for currys and have always returned here as none are as good. The food is always hot, delivered mostly on time, comments for additions are always noted and I don't think the food is bad value in the times we live in. I honestly can't recommend this place highly enough. And no, I'm not paid to do this review nor am I a bot before any keyboard warriors pipe up.

Some of our order was missing. By the time we ate it the place was shut to complain, ordered a few times from here and not had any issues. Was not impressed with the food quality last night.

chicken rejala, the chicken tikka used not fresh, 100% done couple days before, hard around the edges, not nice.

Food was nice. I got a curry , rice & starter. Delivery was faster than expected. The only thing was the food was cold when it arrived. Still enjoyed it overall.

Food arrived about 10 mins early and was lovely and hot (heat wise). Pleasantly surprised at huge portion but unfortunately the curry did not live up to expectations. Only a balti and, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t awful or worse curry I’ve tried but not even a hint of spice or much flavour and very bland. I’m new to the area so first local take away to try. Will miss it next time
