The food is absolutely excellent! We came for brunch and I had poached egg on avocado toast with a sausage. The flavours that have gone into this brunch is just WOW!! Everything is cooked to perfection!! TBH I can’t remember what my partner got but I tried his mushrooms (he doesn’t like mushrooms but he does now) they were the best tasting mushrooms I’ve ever had. There is a massive wide selection of desserts catering for GF and DF which u hardly get anywhere so that was so nice to see. The desserts didn’t disappoint! The staff are always so friendly and smiley! The cafe is nice and cosy, we love the back room when the fire is on!

The menu of interesting sandwiches, soup, toasties and tartines is a refreshing change from much of what Yorkshire tea shops have to offer. We had to check what a tartine was (basically an open sandwich) and were not disappointed: lightly toasted sourdough came piled high with avocado, mushrooms and salad. It's a popular little place with locals as well as visitors and has seating inside and out. The weather was changeable on our visit, so the staff were good to let us know as soon as something became free inside.

The menu looked great & we ordered a couple of breakfast on toast & two coffees followed by a slice of cake. The bacon & sausage were overcooked but otherwise okay. Cake was pretty tasteless. The above came to £36 which is pretty expensive for a mediocre brunch. What was really off-putting was the two waitresses, think one was the owner, complaining about their customers. We overheard a litany of complaints about various people & saw them pulling faces & rolling their eyes behind people's backs. Not great.

1 tuna and mayo sandwich, 1 chicken and mayo sandwich and 1 cup of tea. That’s £18 thank you very much. There was nothing wrong with them but there was really nothing special at all about them either. There’s a lot of ‘fat on that fee’ which is either going on the rent or very greedy pockets. Sorry won’t be coming back.

Visited twice on a mini break with my husband. We had the vegan club toastie the first time which was really nice. Second vist he had the avocado, mushroom and tomatoes on toast which he enjoyed, but the falafel, cucumber and tahini on toast I can say is one of the best vegan brunches I've had, so so good! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Fantastic selection of cakes (no vegan options we saw but all looked amazing), and good coffee. Clearly a popular place for the locals and walkers alike. The lovely cafe dog ponders about in and out, not a bother to anyone too. Would recommend.

My friend bought a coffee here as we sat on the green. Before we left I asked for my water bottle to be filled up and the woman refused informing me I was not a customer so I couldn't have any water. It was 24 degrees outside and I was cycling a very long distance. I wonder how many cyclists frequent coffee shops across the land putting money over the counter? I was very surprised and disappointed by this response to a request for one of life's most basic commodities. The shop was empty at the time.

Lets be fair, our 1 hour 20 walk turned into a muddy hike for a couple of nice views. Not the cafe`s fault. I was ready to eat a horse! Not on the menu. The wife's bacon sausage and mushroom sandwich looked OK. I got a few scraps of it. My plan was soup and a sandwich. Ham and mustard sandwich and vegetable soup. The cucumber in the sandwich (I asked them to leave it out) did nothing for it. The soup was very sweet and about the texture of baby food. That didn't do much for my sandwich either. I rescued the dregs with the aid of the crusts off the bacon roll.

We were in Osmotherley for other reasons and called in for a coffee on a rainy Saturday morning. We had never been before. It is small and often full although there are picnic tables outside. We ordered two lattes, a cheese scone and a bacon sandwich on ciabatta with no butter. We enjoyed our coffee and the cheese scone and the bacon sandwich came later. It was well worth the wait. The sandwich came without butter as requested, a simple request, but so often ignored. The sandwich was well-filled with thick cut sweet-curedback bacon and was delicious. This was, by far, the best bacon sandwich I had ever had and took the crown from Lord Stones which has been the best so far.Consistency is what customers want. We returned on two more occasions expecting the sandwich to be not as good, but it was! The bacon comes from Roots, but I suspect that the cooking method is what keeps the bacon sweet and succulent. We just hope that the outstanding quality continues.

Roll forward a couple of weeks and we are out walking, Osmotherley was midpoint and we had planned a cafe stop. We were dog walking, the cafe was happy to allow dogs so we paid a visit. The menu is mix of drinks, varied coffee's, tea and soft drinks, then to eat, sandwiches, what sounds like delicious sausage or bacon buns, plus a wide range of cakes which all looked scrumptious. I opted for the soup, which was tasty, would have liked a more rustic bread.Service was attentive, the premises had been nicely refurbished since it's last use as an outdoor shop. For my sins I have never ever been to Osmotherley, what a lovely village. Parked up on the Main Street (pity there was no car park) and headed down the village and found this lovely cafe. Cannot believe a previous review suggesting that it was dismal inside the cafe. Vivid bright colours and very pleasant staff greet you on entry to place your order. Suspect the reviewer was miffed because they would not accept credit cards, is this fair on the owner, certainly not, By the way high quality public toilets are a stone throw away! Now to the nitty gritty. We had scones and coffee to start with and they were lovely, cakes looked lovely as well. After our 10 mile walk decided to return for more food and finished off with coffee and teas and lovely fresh date scones. This is just a great little cafe which will brighten up your day. Well done everyone, we hope to be back,

Good coffee and a cheese scone to die for, but no loos! Instead I was directed to the grotty and paper-less public loos 100 yards down the road.

Not bad for a coffee stop but a bit dismal inside. There're no toilets and they don't accept cards of any kind. Coffee and food were ok but doubt I'll go back as its nothing special.

Called in for a coffee and cake whilst staying at the nearby Caravana Park. The most tasty fresh Lemon Drizzle cake washed down with a hot frothy latte. Reasonably priced. A lovely treat. Service with a smile too.

Great scones, coffee and cake. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, so much so we went back after our day's walk. The fruit and lime drizzle cake travelled well, I'm going to try and make it. Want to go back to try pistachio and lime.Lovely menu, a great place to start and finish a walking day. Please trip advisor, can this café come up when asking for cafes in Osmotherley? My first visit but will be back to stay one day and do more of Cleveland Way. Rare to find a café that does good different fresh scones and really good coffee, this one does both and best cake selection.

We called in here today after a very damp and chilly walk and were really impressed. The café is attractive and comfortable, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The home made cakes and scones were excellent - we especially liked the rhubarb and ginger jam. We will definitely be going back.

Walked into Osmotherly from a nearby caravan site. We were sat outside with family and our greyhound. We were invited inside with the dog. Lovely soup, lovely sandwiches, very welcoming hosts. Food cooked to order so very fresh. Will definitely return.

Trying to get both a good coffee and a good sausage/bacon butty is difficult. We found the place! The butty was loaded and a very high quality meat with the roll nicely warmed and slightly crisped. Coffee americano was equally top quality. Loved it.

Popped in on the way home from camping as we were driving back through the village. Lovely decorated coffee shop that made us feel welcome as soon as we came in through the door. Ordered the Coffee & Walnut cake and a Latte that was served really fast even though they had been overrun by a massive group of cyclists. Girl who served us deserves a raise or something!
