Food is VERY VERY hot, caused very severe mouth burns today, I would not recommend if you want skin peeling off your mouth palate.

Decent food, friendly staff, very convenient for the seafront. Very busy

£3.50 for the chips (regular size apparently) plus £2.70 for the sausage, absolute rip off every time what’s the point in asking what size chips we want to order if whatever size we choose is the equilvent to a child’s meal. This is an adults size meal paid over £6 for it and left hungry!!! Absolute joke portion sizes, every other chippy in littlehampton is miles better and less stingy

Great prices and good traditional food. Can be a little greasy, but that’s you need sometimes. Updated 2024: Still good prices, but much higher than before, then again prices are higher everywhere. Fast service, good size portions and very fresh tasting chips and fish.

Waited in queue for 40mins only to be told no fish left, unbelievable waste of time

Medium chips £3.50 children size also wrong type of potatoes to make proper chips .. tuff and not tasty.. goes to rubbish bin.

Very nice fish and chip takeaway with some tables if you want to eat in. Good quality fish with nice batter. Nice that there's three sizes of chips if you're not feeling too hungry. Chicken, burgers, scampi, sausage etc. also offered. Kids options also available.

Delicious fish and chips, massive size portion and well priced. Right by the wharf side. Let down by the interior and atmosphere but the food was great so I’d get it again.

Have used this place in the past and its still as popular today judging by the queues.

Scabby chips and battered sausage was was so stale and the batter was all soft like it had been left ages in the cabinet.. Fred's chips shop for me next time

We've been using Oscars for the past 14 years. Today we have been so disappointed. The chips had obviously been reheated and were inedible, the fish was dry and unpalatable. Also the staff were rude to my son and his wife which is unacceptable. Sorry Oscars but it'll be a while before we use you again.

Wonderful fish and chips, both haddock and cod were cooked beautifully. Large portions and not overly expensive. Highly recommended.

Must of been a bad day. Fish tasted of oil the chips where soggy and burnt and looked like both where reheated from lunchtine. Wasted food and not worth the £22.

Been going to Oscars for years when in the are and always had lovely food. Has take out last night (Huss) got it home, was absolutely horrible, the fish was brown and dry, the chips not great either. Live too far to take back. Such a shame.

They only had medium cod left when I went and it wasn't very large and I am unsure how fresh it was. Normally it is better than today.

Been here a few times now, simple reason is its excellent food and good size portions. Very very good value for money and excellent quality, and the staff are very friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Littlehampton!!

Good fish and chip shop with a few tables to eat in. The fish is tasty and reasonably priced. You can also eat outside in front of the sea. Sauces are now 30 p each.

Underrated! Curry sauce was great & the chicken burgers 👌🏼

Discussing, I entered the shop with my dog, they took my order and took payment for it and then said that dogs not allowed!!! So I had to wait for my food outside in the wind because I had my dog with me. Also, there is no signs to say so, otherwise I wouldn't spend my money in greedy place like this!!! Shame on you and disgusting behaviour!!!!

Stumbled across Oscar's fish & chips restaurant in Littlehampton after a long walk from Worthing and had a superb large Cod & chips. Friendly service in a nice traditional restaurant and great food !

They might be ok for fish and chips but there was chicken pie on the menu. As I love pie I ordered it. Unfortunately they microwaved it and the pastry was soft and beige.

Soggy unsalted chips & rude staff. We got our takeaways and the fish and chips which had no salt or vinegar on them - even though we had asked for this. We tried to put salt and vinegar on and were rudely told by a staff member not to.

We visited Osca's, intentionally as a takeaway but was pleasantly surprised when they allowed us to convert our takeaway into an eat-in with no additional costs; it had started heavily raining and that and chips don't mix! We found the portions and prices of Osca's chips to be very generous, although they lacked the crispness that I'm accustomed to with sea-side chips. Their large sausage (at the time of writing) is £2.30, £2.50 for a battered one, which was more than sufficient enough for one portion. The waiting time was around 10 minutes, but that was due to their "cook fresh" approach, which is ideal for anyone that wants to have a posh dish without breaking their bank in the process AND not having something that's as old as the day itself. We will be remembering Osca's as our fish and chips shop of choice, and will surely be visiting again in the near future. Ketchup is 30p for a Heinz squeeze sachet.

We have been going to Oscas for over 30 years so I think that writing a positive review is what I am obviously going to do. We have eaten there in the height of baking summers with the sun streaming through the windows , when it's been pouring down with rain too. A few of the staff may have changed and the menu too but the quality has never changed. Excellent food , cooked freshly served on a plate bread and butter the whole works . Last night we had a take away , in the summer we had take away and sat round by boating lake to eat it. I've been to social events with 50 or more people and they catered for us then . Nothing is too hard for them. The menu is extensive alternatives of Chicken , pies , sausages , roe and burgers also available . When you sit down you get the hustle of the shop in the background but it's part of the experience. Enjoy it, and even better you can have Pineapple fritters ad ice cream for afters only if you eat all your dinner though ! I really recommend it, we drove 10 miles last night for it and in the past we drove from Haywards Heath to meet there. Always a friendly face greets you , but its busy so book if you can otherwise you will be disappointed , summer time I mean.

We go to oscas every week and the food is always cooked fresh,great portions and the staff are always fantastic. A real gem at the seafront.

The best fish and chips in the area.

A nice, clean restaurant with plenty of indoor seating and friendly service. The dishes are visibly freshly prepared and taste very good. A typical waterfront restaurant that also offers takeaway. We enjoyed stopping there. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here.

The worst fish and chips that I've ever had! Fish was tasteless and dry, chips were Soggy. How they managed to get reviews beyond 1star is puzzling!

Came to this place tonight waited 45 minutes for my food, a take away when I asked how long how much longer is gonna be the lady replied everybody is waiting you’re not the only one I didn’t mind it was a beautiful afternoon, and I thought it would be a cook fresh if you want fresh fish and chips, avoid this place at all cost I have never had worse fish & chips and that is to put it lightly there was no taste to any of it left a bad taste in my mouth I would never use this place again just upset my afternoon food got put in the bin

The chips was decent but the wait time was horrendous. ~50 minutes for 2 portions of chips. (in the restaurants defense it was a bank holiday weekend and beautiful weather, but for such a simple order, it just seemed too long)

Best fish and chip shop in west sussex. I have been hear a few time and never had a bad meal,portions are good ,proper chip shop chips . does get busy so if you are eating in it does get a bit load,not in a bad way tho.

I used to love this place.. Used to be decent portions and lovely fish.. "BUT" recently the prices are ridiculous 4.50 for a large chips that didn't even fill the little tray.. And the chips tasted awful and were barely warm.. we ended up feeding them to the seagulls.. Just over 25 quid for fish and chips and chips and a battered sausage.. Won't be using this place again.

Couldn’t have been better fantastic food fantastic service. Was recommended by a friend and was so worth the trip. Nice big bit of fish chips were nice. The young lady that served me was so polite and couldn’t do enough to help nothing was too much trouble. Everyone in there seemed very happy with everything. Definitely recommend it

Not what I would have expected froma fish and chip shop by the sea. Fish was dry and lacked flavour. The fish didn't flake well and seemed dense, my guess is that it was frozen and not fresh. The batter was oily and thick in parts which made it stodgy. The chips tasted good and varied in size. Sausages were what you would expect from a chippie, bland and not particularly "meaty" Sauce is sold in the "squeeze me" hard sachets which although heinz are 30p each and not that easy to squeeze.

.My last visit was awful had to go back for my sauces which were still on the counter well the Tartare was i then asked about my ketchup and she oh i haven't charged you for those doubly awkward.Time before that i wasn't given any forks so we had to use our hands. ..I had to use this time because freds were busy with a big order still no change Chips were terrible.. Made to wait outside in the cold wind until my order was ready !! Never again.

Went in for some lunch with the wife and little one while visiting the beach. Only a short walk and we ate in to save being bothered by seagulls! Would happily eat here again.

The cod was huge and tasty. Chips were overcooked which was not nice. Scampi were okay. When taking away the package is uncomfortable, just wrapped in paper which gets oily very fast.
