Osca's Fish & Chips in Arun

This was hands down the worst fish and chips experience of my life. I ordered the cod and chips—big mistake. The chips were like cardboard, dry and tasteless. The fish was soggy, undercooked, and drenched in oil that completely overpowered any flavor the fish might have had. It was honestly gross. To top it off, the service was just as bad. The staff had a serious attitude, and one of them even rolled her eyes while taking our order. £30 for 2 meals, don't waste your money here.

Decent place. Not the best but not the worst. Worth a visit. Old school food. Chips are rather big and flavourless.

Ordered a large cod and half portion of chips to take away, when opened the cod was a lot smaller than had in the past, quiried the size of the cod and was told it is now done on weight, one half of the fish was all batter and tiny amounts of dry overcooked fish, the chips were dry, have used this chip shop for years but won't use again.

Really good experience today, wasn’t overly busy when we went in but were greeted by 2 lovely women behind the counter. The food was great and the interior even better. You can walk in to collect or be served at the tables. I will definitely use again when I visit Littlehampton again in the near future!

Ordered cod and chips at 4.15, cost £15, thought this should be good. Totally wrong. Chips were undercooked and fish was so dry as I was hungry ate a bit of each but majority ended up in bin.terrible disappointment Won't be using again.

One of the best haddock and chips I have ever had and I mean it , 👌🏼😋👌🏼. Our food was takeout and had to wait a little bit as they cook fresh and not from the heated ones 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

A proper lovely fish and chips shop, we ate in and had a delicious cod and chips with a childrens scampi. Reasonably priced and very nicely cooked, service 👌.

Came in for one small portion of chips and 3 sausages and a fruit shoot - realised once I had gotten home I had been charged £37 on Apple Pay!!!!

Service was way too long and poor. No spoon with a cup of tea? asked for sweeteners that never came. Chips needed longer, still tasted a bit earthy.

Chips were a bit hard. Staff not so friendly, the lady that usually works here is more friendly. However she had a day off. Told to wait outside in the cold, as we ordered a take out.

Probably one of the rudest places Iv ever been, so rude didn’t stay to taste the food.

We have always used Oscas and never been disappointed up until now......£32. 60 for two fish and chips and a sausage for the dog, Fish very dry and alot of batter rather than fish and chips that looked like they had been cooked before cold and bitty very few proper chips. VERY DISAPPOINTED threw most of it away 😞

Probably the best fish and chips in the area!!! Chips were fluffy and crisp, and the waitress recommend the fish with a light batter which was absolutely spot on. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff which is really handy. Definitely will be back.

Had Cod and chips tonight, terrible, Cod was pieces of something put together but not cod, charged £11.00 each for the cod, chips were reheats and no taste £4.00 each. For £15.00 you expect much better. Will never have a takeaway from there again. Total rip off. I don’t recommend anything

Haddock, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce and a can of drink £19 quid, service quick enough and Food was hot, but, poor quality fish also tasteless, chips hard and just not very good. Shame

The most expensive average fish and chips in the world, absolute rip off, the girl behind the counter picking her nose and touching her face then serving food !!!! Absolutely disgusting...NEVER AGAIN

Was staying just for one night in Littlehampton ....was looking for a meal...came across oscas....was nearly full... early evening...full of locals .. .the food was fantastic ...you must go there...you won't be disappointed...

Typical chippie. No frills. Unusual to find lettuce and mayonnaise in a fish sandwich. Hot and cold drinks available. Very well cooked fish. Most enjoyable. Another of many visits. Handy for shore.

Great chippy great cod but the vanilla milkshake is a mid off but still great and locally nice

Went in here for a large portion of chips for dinner, what i came out with was a small to say the least apparently large portion which cost a whopping £5. The chips where absolutely diabolical. Over cooked but some how tasted like they were raw. Might as well have thrown the money in the bin like I did the chips

From Ash Vale, Aldershot Hampshire,… Went down to have a lovely lunchtime Stroll at LittleHampton with tha wifey, Had a choice between here or freds fish and chips next to it,… Freds looked packed full queue at the time, But this place was not too bad for waiting in line, So we tried it… The best fish and chips i have ever put in my Mouth… Look at my other reviews.. on my page… I love fish and chips.. Ordered cod and chips which used to be really good unfortunately this time was awful, the fish was over cooked and like rubber, the chips were not fresh as if they were recooked from lunch. the cost has doubled from a couple of years ago but the quality has gone right down, we will not be going there again.

Poor hygiene. Didn't wash hands thoroughly with soap after touching raw fish. Then went and touched all the cooking appliances and picked something out of the chips. Couldn't eat food as we started to feel nauseous. Avoid here if you don't want to risk food poisoning!!!!!!!!!

The best kids cod fish and chips by far , proper fish , excellent portion size . Wouldn't go anywhere else We have had mutpile visits with my boys . Only slight negative table service seems a bit flat and serious , Just needs to be a bit warmer and friendley a bit more welcoming , seems to be no interaction Just take down the order and that's it

We ask fish and chips twice the chips were old and cold the fish was old as well. So we ask for freshly cook fish and chips when we got home about 5 minutes later unwrap the fish and chips guess what it was the same as the first lot so it straight in the bin.the beast place is a few doors down it's called Freds all ways a queue but worth the wait.

Stopped off today for lunch, cod and fish, and a sausage and chips. Order inside (it looks like covid times with screens up). There is a small seating area which was full. We ordered takeaway, got a number, and asked to wait outside. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. Very tasty, shame they charge for ketchup, but everywhere does tbh. Chips were pukka, batter light, and fluffy and freshly cooked fish! Highly recommend!

It is very near the harbour and beach. The quality of food is excellent and portions are generous. The service is rapid. The condiments are good

Lovely food but if you are having the sausage in batter go for the jumbo as the standard is very small though very generous portion of chips 🍟. Our waitress could have done with some etiquette lessons and had more than a touch of the Vicki pollard about her .

Could do with getting rid of the plastic bags and tell people where they're tasty fish is from

Very good chip shop, not far from where we were staying near goodwood. The fish and chips was spot on, very well priced and good portions. Lovely view outside, and easy to park just around the corner.

At 6:30 in the evening, I had to wait outside for my order on the street because they said they were closing. Others were eating inside. closing time is 9:00 p.m. cheeky.

Not too long a wait as was very busy. Disappointing chips 🍟 rancid too strong a word but disappointing all the same and lacking any taste of salt or vinegar (asked for). Cod, chicken burger, saveloys and gherkins were OK.

The fish and chips were very tasty even if a little on the expensive side. The shop was very popular but unfortunately did not have enough staff. Consequently there was a long queue and a long wait.

Chips are very dry like they been reheated £4.50 for large chips not worth the fee also 50p for slice bread lol 😆 just do roll 🤣 since when did they sell slice bread in chip shop unfortunately quality here not great but hey everyone got different opinions

Food is VERY VERY hot, caused very severe mouth burns today, I would not recommend if you want skin peeling off your mouth palate.

£3.50 for the chips (regular size apparently) plus £2.70 for the sausage, absolute rip off every time what’s the point in asking what size chips we want to order if whatever size we choose is the equilvent to a child’s meal. This is an adults size meal paid over £6 for it and left hungry!!! Absolute joke portion sizes, every other chippy in littlehampton is miles better and less stingy

Great prices and good traditional food. Can be a little greasy, but that’s you need sometimes. Updated 2024: Still good prices, but much higher than before, then again prices are higher everywhere. Fast service, good size portions and very fresh tasting chips and fish.

Medium chips £3.50 children size also wrong type of potatoes to make proper chips .. tuff and not tasty.. goes to rubbish bin.

Very nice fish and chip takeaway with some tables if you want to eat in. Good quality fish with nice batter. Nice that there's three sizes of chips if you're not feeling too hungry. Chicken, burgers, scampi, sausage etc. also offered. Kids options also available.

Scabby chips and battered sausage was was so stale and the batter was all soft like it had been left ages in the cabinet.. Fred's chips shop for me next time

We've been using Oscars for the past 14 years. Today we have been so disappointed. The chips had obviously been reheated and were inedible, the fish was dry and unpalatable. Also the staff were rude to my son and his wife which is unacceptable. Sorry Oscars but it'll be a while before we use you again.

Must of been a bad day. Fish tasted of oil the chips where soggy and burnt and looked like both where reheated from lunchtine. Wasted food and not worth the £22.
