Orlop Restaurant in Scarborough

Vaya. Qué vertedero Llegamos a las 6 pm fuera se anunciaba como comidas todo el día Nadie nos recibió, aunque el personal de la PNE nos presenció. Fuimos a una mesa y nos preguntaron qué bebida queríamos. Pedimos un menú para la comida. El camarero dijo que tendrá que revisar si tienen comida. Volvió diciendo que no había comida. Nos fuimos pero preguntamos a otro personal a la salida que dijo que el personal se iba ahora, lo que sea que eso significaba. Detuve a otros 4 abordando el barco

Visitó aquí 31. 7 . 24 y se sentó junto a una mesa con bebidas derramadas. Sin embargo, no hay problema con eso, el menú de nuestra mesa había caído en él y cuando le dije al camarero que me preguntó sobre él cuando le pedí uno limpio? Esperé media hora para tomar unas copas, todavía sentada junto al derrame y el paño y la botella de limpieza que quedó a nuestro lado. Pedí un panini de atún, fue la peor comida que me han dado en un restaurante. Apenas relleno, pan seco y tuve que pedir de nuevo mayo que no llegó después de pedirlo con la comida. ¡Oh, y tuvimos nuestras comidas pero no cubiertos para comer! Comida caótica, desorganizada y asquerosa. Pedí un reembolso y me dieron uno, no mucha ayuda cuando estaba hambriento! ¡EVITA, es un truco porque está en la cubierta de un barco! ¡Pérdida de tiempo y dinero!

Esperé siglos cuando finalmente llegaron las bebidas eran inbebibles, peor aún el chocolate caliente más asqueroso que he tomado nunca era horrible y la coca era plana tuvimos que dejar nuestras bebidas e ir a otro lugar

No es el mejor, sabía como ingredientes muy baratos, los dos teníamos el inglés completo, un montón de comida en el plato, pero no muy bien.

Nos encontramos con este lugar en Trip Advisor y pensamos que sería un lugar peculiar para cenar con los niños, así que decidimos reservar en línea. Reservamos una mesa para 8 personas, nos quedamos ligeramente decepcionados por la recepción de los camareros y la calidad de la comida. En su menú dice claramente “Los mejores pescados con papas fritas en Whitby” que fue un eufemismo. La comida se veía increíble y estaba muy bien presentado, pero era muy soso, insípido y hubiera preferido que se sirve un poco más caliente. El servicio estaba bien cuando realmente viste a alguien. Los baños estaban sucios y olían. Derramamos una bebida en la mesa y el piso y pedimos a varios camareros una mopa y pañuelo, no proporcionaron nada, así que fuimos a los baños a agarrar los pañuelos de mano y secamos la mesa nosotros mismos. La alarma de incendios sonó hacia el final de la comida, nadie dijo si era un simulacro o un incendio real, así que simplemente dejamos el barco. -muchos mejores lugares para comer alrededor de Whitby.

Have never eaten on a boat before, and as we were only in Whitby for a couple of hours, we couldn’t not try out such a unique opportunity! Really enjoyed the food and drinks which were brought out very promptly, and learning about the history of the HM endeavour and captains cooks voyage. Gave a wonderful boost for the journey home after! Thank you ☺️

Came here in December with a group of friends. Food was poor and served like warm and looked very unappealing. Service was very slow and no customer care. The state of the boat is the worst thing - stairs very unsafe and the ladies toilets are a disgrace - big chunks of concrete missing around the drain cover and several of us fell. Not very clean and the smell was Horrendous. It is very unsafe getting up and down the stairs. All in all it was very disappointing and we won’t be back - so many nicer places to eat around Whitby.

Abousoulte vile wouldn't even feed my dog the food . Were do I start frozen lasagne that probably had half bottle tomato sauce . On fish had hair in 2 meals the chips were that hard could shot them out of a cannon and would take building down . If you want food wouldn't go here as staff can't even be arsed

My friends and I happened upon this place by chance. We originally thought it was just a place of interest to look at and admire. Beautiful looking ship and historic information board. It wasn't until I found the menu board we realised it was also a bar and grill. We entered rather timidly as we still wasn't sure if it was the entrance. The gang plank down is rather steep and could be a little difficult for people with mobility issues. However I would say give it ago as once inside it's very interesting Once inside the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered food and drinks. I had the burger which came with salad, fries and homemade onion rings. The food was fabulous, freshly made beef burgers in a rustic roll. Never been so full. Will definitely go again.

We were intrigued by having lunch on a ship and we weren't disappointed. The fish n chips were the best we'd ever had! The restaurant is a bit precarious if you are a little unsteady but it's certainly an experience. We went back for a drink on the deck in the sunshine.

Wasn't the worst place I have eaten , but going to be honest-wouldnt visit again!!!! The food (although huge portions) was extremely underwhelming. Menu didn't state what the meals ingredients were and when u asked, i what was on a couple of the burgers on the menu, the staff didn't have a clue. The Mexican burger was loaded with huge chunks of raw onion and peppers and the Carbanara tasted of nothing and looked nothing like a carbanara. Shame as its a very interesting venue

This has changed significant since we were here last. The restaurant was filthy, tables not cleared, toilets disgusting. We waited just under an hour for our food then when we checked the chef had not started to cook it and we were advised it would be a further 45 minute wait - unfortunately we therefore requested a refund and ate elsewhere. Staff clearly over worked and disorganised - definate lack of management.

My husband ordered the XL fish and chips, the fish was all batter. My daughter and I ordered chicken burgers, everything was overly greasy, the chicken burger had blood in it. We both ended up with poorly stomachs.

15/04/2023 me and my partner are here in whitby for the weekend,after a meal which was not very good last year we decided to give the boat another go as the weather was glorious. we noticed an offer on the fish and chips which appealed to us. all i can say is this did not disappoint the food was cooked to total perfection and a good price to. we would like to send a massive massive compliment to the chef on this boat we will look forward to trying his food each time we visit from now on thank you!!

Decided to give this restaurant a go seems though Whitby was packed and it was nice and sunny. We waited a little while for the food but when it arrived it was well worth the wait!! Fish and chips and scampi and chips. Fresh like it had been caught thismorning. Cooked to perfection and plenty of it. The staff were very friendly and Jake our waiter was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The price was fantastic, £30 meal deal for 2 including drinks of choice.!!! Definitely will be back again!

We went on a Saturday with family visiting from out of town. The venue was quirky and interesting, a little cold upstairs but plenty of heating on the lower deck. Lots of interesting decor, more like a museum than a restaurant. The service was great too, gave the kids a few freebies which were much appreciated. However, the food was terrible. Took over 90 mins to arrive despite us being the only customers there (which in hindsight should have been a red flag) and the quality of the food was very poor. Steaks were solid (even at medium rare). We ended up abandoning the meal half way. Given the prices they charge, this really isn’t acceptable. For example the inedible steak salad (£17) cost the same as a full Sunday Roast over at Sneaton Castle. Avoid!

Booked a table for our evening meal, had a look around the boat as well. The food is lovely, well presented and plenty of it. Large selection of drinks to chose from. Chicken Parmo is highly recommend.

We went for drinks on this life size replica of Captain Cook’s ship HM Endeavour and really enjoyed our experience on the top deck. The café was still called Orlop on that visit. On our second visit we were given a leaflet advertising Endeavour bar and grill open now with a free glass of prosecco with each adult meal. We wanted food so we went below deck and had a wonderful experience eating scampi and chips, which we couldn’t fault, in the amazing surroundings.. The service was great too. Afterwards we went back on the top deck and had a glass wine looking out at the amazing views of Whitby. We both hope this place maintains a good consistency in food and service as it’s a unique experience. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. We'll definitely come back again.

omg whate a waste off money.my husband ordered a sunday beef roast,well a dollop off mash 2 warmed up bits off beef on top with a yorkshire pudding i ordered ham and cheese toastie enough said about that (yuk)waste off money.please avoid .

Having been recommended to this restaurant it certainly lived up to the 5 star rating our friend gave it. From going on board we were greeted by the most friendly young lady. We had a cocktail at the bar before being shown to our table. The food was delicious we had starters and main but really couldn’t manage a dessert. We settled for a liquor coffee which hit the spot 😋 Everything about this place was perfect. The ambiance, cleanliness, service and the choice of menu. We will definitely be returning in September on our next visit to Whitby 5 ⭐️

Called noon to book a table for that evening, asked for 7pm told we could only go at 6.45pm presumed it must be busy we booked….. Staff must have decided they would finish early that night as manager was on holiday. Not really a evening restaurant, bare wooden tables and no atmosphere. The menu, half of which we were told wasn’t available, even more not available once we had placed the order doesn’t have any starters. We had some light bites to share, these were practically taken from the table before we had finished, presumably to get back to cleaning/closing and one of the meals the burger was so dry it couldn’t be eaten. We mentioned this and was given the offer to cook another but it was so unappealing our guest said she rather not. The cleaning was mentioned when paying the bill and the general attitude of the staff which because even ruder “if you don’t like it don’t come back” There are many restaurants in Whitby to choose from don’t waste your hard earned money/ holiday on this one

This place is a Gem! We spent 3 days in Whitby and by far this was the best meal we had from any restaurant! I will definitely be here again!!! The Chef is awesome.

Had Sunday lunch and it was just what the doctor ordered. Great to be dining somewhere different than the 'chain' pubs dotted around in Whitby. Both the wife and kids enjoyed it and the service from proper people was excellent!
