Sadly, whilst this location is temporarily closed, I look forward to being welcomed back to a local and convenient place to eat which serves typical menu items at affordable prices.

Having not had a Sunday dinner for 3 years, I was determined as my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, I was going to correct that. I'd heard that the Sunday dinners in The Royal Oak were good, so thought why not give it a go. Good? That as it turned out was one hell of an understatement, they are fantastic, just like I remember from home. Add the cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets and you are in for a real treat. The only problem I found was not leaving room for one of the great looking desserts, after clearing my plate. Still, gives me a good reason to go back, like I needed one 😁

A passable Wetherspoons pub that served a purpose that morning to give us a spot to rest up and have a coffee. Totally unmemorable and unremarkable, a Wetherspoons pub that feels like it has had it's time and they've had enough. Really didn't enjoy either of the 'Spoons in Loughborough at all which is a shame. When run properly, Wetherspoons has a place in a town, sadly not in Loughborough apparently.

Visited on Boxing Day for a 3 course Christmas dinner. Food was good quality and very good sized portions, wasn't too happy with dessert options but the food I did eat were lovely. Good value for money. We had a table reserved right by the fire, which was great upon arrival to warm up after being outside but not so great to be sat next too for the duration of our visit, perhaps would recommend there not being a table dining right next to the fire.

Popped in here for afternoon lunch. The welcome was warm, the staff friendly and the food good. It was busy, but no real wait for the food, and service was polite and prompt. A little pricey for the puddings after our mains, considering their size, but overlooking this the visit was excellent.
