Oriental kitchen in Rother

My husband took our grandson home to Sidley so we ordered some Chinese to pick up on his way home to Battle. The food was delicious so much of it and priced very fairly. I would recommend the Oriental kitchen to anybody who likes a really good Chinese.

Order was ready on time, it was just perfect. The spicy dishes were spicy, the non spicy dishes were not and the order was just as expected. this is my second order and will be ordering again.

Last night I had ordered the salt and pepper squid, I have never in my life felt so unwell. Fever, nausea, stomach cramps all day. That’s all I ate yesterday never again

Great food, friendly guy. Even gave me a great tip to keep a succulent plant healthy by giving it some starch water from rice.

Food was amazing and still very hot when delivered, the only problem we had, was the person at the other end of the phone, he was very rude and rushed us through the order, which is probably why it was slightly wrong when it arrived, if it wasn’t for him this review would of easily been 5 stars.

The foods always good, delivery times are amazing. Staff are friendly and polite, whats not to like. Sometimes from order to doorstep in under 15 mins super efficient and super tasty..

horrific service on the phone hung up on me when I was still speaking to them then called back to say cancel the order he said why why you cancel then want on to say can’t cancel and went bye bye bye and hung up again will never use this place again service is horrendous avoid🤬🤬

Average, spent over £60 to feed a large group and didn't even send prawn crackers, food was ok but not amazing

If I could give then no stars I would. They were quite rude on the phone, they hung up while I was still talking. The chicken balls were over cooked on the outside and under cooked inside, the chicken fried rice was soggy not at all what it should have tasted like. The chicken curry tasted horrible. I had added up how much I owed them before they arrived but they charged me a little more thinking I had added it up wrong I paid then this morning I double checked the amount and they had over charged me, it may have only been a couple of pound but that's not the point. Don't use this place it's not worth it.

Orderd last night and got the house special noodles witch include prawns Just want to say i got 1 prawn in the hole dish!!!!!!! food was absolutely horrible !!!!!! we still have all the food and ended up ordering from bexhill fried chicken insted so dont take my word for it but we pay all this money for Chinese food and all we get is what we dident order or its filled with pure oil and its not something you want to order for your hole family you will be very disappointed about it tonight i will be takeing all my food back yo make my point clear to them

Ordered a takeaway from here and specifically asked for all of the dishes to be vegan through Just Eat.Was pleased to see that they hadn’t used fish crumbles on the seaweed but were disgusted to open a dish of chicken wings which we didn’t order. This isn’t the first time they have done this but it will be the last time we order from them. My partner had a green Thai curry which made him violently sick followed by diarrhoea. Very disappointed.

Appalling. Luckily the food had no taste what so ever. I dread to think how bad it would have been if I could have tasted anything.

Found this to be one of the nicest local chinese take away . Delivery normally within time stated by friendly driver, food good too!

Bl#*dy rubbish food was 30 mins late and a dish was wrong. By the time they sent out the right dish all our food was cold !!! I will never use these again

Spent over £20 and didn't even get prawn crackers. I phoned up to complain as every other Chinese always includes prawn crackers. We then find our one of the dishes was also wrong. They told me it's because we didn't collect. Even though they charged £1 for delivery and we tip them too.

Simply the best chinese in bexhill. V clean kitchen and everything freshly cooked unlike some others. Very fast and friendly delivery

Food was tasty and a nice variety on offer, delivery was quicker than expected which is good in my book as they predicted an hour. Can't fault the food, it wasn't amazing but it was better then a typical Chinese and was flavoured using skill and knowledge, not just dowsed in salty flavourings like a lot of places do. If the standard is of this calibre then I would definitely order again and the freebies made it a pretty decent deal.

Quality was excellent, food took longer than specified to arrive however it was on a rugby World Cup game night and a Saturday so I'm guessing this added to an already busy night for them. Also didn't get the chicken wings or bottle of Coke specified for orders over £25 only got prawn crackers with a £40+ order so was a little disappointed.

Absolutely awful took 1:45 mins to get to me and I live round the corner when we rang an hour into waiting they had only just started cooking it! Didn't offer any refund or discount and hung up on us the food arrived 40 mins or so after!will not be ordering from there again

Lovely food not greasy at all and quick delivery

we did ask for our food to be labeled as my husband is highly allergic to eggs and i was having fried rice. but they didn't do this and we asked for no peppers in our sweet and sour but we requested extra onion, so in both dishes we got 3 tiny bits of onion. so not happy.

It was lovely food. Shame it was almost 45 minuets late!

Food was nice, but it took over 2 hours to deliver, even though the takeaway is less than 5 mins from our house, I had to ring up after 2 hours of waiting to enquire what was the problem with our delivery, to be ( I feel a little fobbed off ) given excuses. It kind of ruined a nice night in as I didn't really want to eat that much at nearly 11 pm.

I ordered it for 7:45 for when I got home from work. It arrived at 7 o'clock and they rang me constantly asking me where I was. I explained I won't be home until the agreed time and they just sighed and talked as if I had let them down. I rang them when I eventually got home and they said they will get it to me when they can, I imagine my food was just sitting there getting cold. I ordered quarter duck, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken balls. They eventually came but didn't deliver the plum sauce for the duck or the chicken balls. I rang them again and they said they will drop the chicken balls later. They came cold as anything and the delivery driver was angry I took time to answer the door. It's a shame because they are normally very good.

The food was nothing to write home about. The crispy shredded beef was not "hot" as the menu states and tasted burnt. The rest of the food was just bland and for nearly £30 I expected more. There are better Chineses in Bexhill.

I normally love this rest, I'm still waiting for our meal, no call to say it will be late and I can't get through, permantly engaged....not happy

Order was nor processed when placed. Rang to find out where food was after 90 mins and they hadn't started cooking it due to it not being sent to the kitchen. Delivery driver then went to wrong road first. 2 hours to get food!

Had Chinese from here a few times. Very up and down but tonight's was faultless. Turned up early, all nice and hot and meat was was all soft and tender. Best we've had and very satisfied bellies

Had quarter of crispy duck for starters. There was only enough meat for 4 pancakes the rest fat and skin. Very disappointed. Curry was nice.

This is our go-to Chinese - the food quality is great and you get quite a bit for your money! Orders are always correct and on time.

Food bland , ordered chicken curries , tasteless

I requested no mushrooms but they were included in my vegetable rice. Luckily I'm not allergic! Over an hour for delivery. No free prawn crackers but that was the least of it.

Food was ok, no more. Chicken curry bland, egg fried rice a little dry as were the ribs. Noodles OK, beef ok and starters good.

First Chinese from here tonight, came earlier than scheduled. Was very tasty and fresh. Not greasy at all. Thank you will be back

Took an hour and half to get our meal and no apology once arrived.

We ordered our food at 7.40 and we were told that our food would be delivered at 8.20. After phoning twice we finally received our food at 9.45! At this point, however nice the food was it was lost on us we ate because we were hungry and the long time waiting meant that we couldn't spend the evening eating, going back at later points. Lots of this meal was wasted! The take-away did offer us free wings and fortune cookies. Only got the wings. I think had it been a weekend would could understand the delay, however being a Wednesday night we couldn't really understand such a delay!!! Feel really let down by this service.

I was hesitant to order from just eat again as had horrible service with a previous take away that advertised american food. Thought I'd give Chinese a try and was really surprised at the whole experience. The prices are good, the food was really good, and it arrived in about 30 minutes when it said to expect it in 45 to an hour. Very friendly delivery lady too. This take away will be on my list of favs from now on!!

Didn't get pancakes or hoisen sauce with duck pancake appetiser. Very disappointing. Also asked for asap delivery they said ten forty and then turned up at nine twenty ish. What's that about.

Food was good, was only warm though which ruined it. Might of been something to so with the long wait for delivery! Took around 75mins.

Took 2 and a half hours to arrive! Although it was new years eve I didn't expect it to take that long and had no courtesy call to say about the delay! Food was nice when it eventually arrived!
