China Garden in Rother

We had dinner delivered 4 times during 1 week visit in Bexhill, even though Chinese food is not our first choice. The food is generous, well prepared and so good to eat. Staff are helpful. Delivery is prompt. Recommend 100%.

Our meal from China Garden was delivered by 'Just Eat'. We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday but when the meal arrived it had almost no meat, just greasy duck and chicken skins. The meal tasted absolutely disgusting and even the next day both of us felt unwell. We lodged our complaint with Just Eat but they weren't prepared to do anything about it. From now on we will never use Just Eat or China Garden again.

Was late . The satay chicken was slimey and chewy . Chop suey was watery and noodles tasteless. Crab claws were good

After waiting for 1 hour 20 minutes for a delivery (Saturday ordered at 18:10) the food arrived. It was all round average and that's generous. We had chow mein, chicken balls, egg rice and special fried rice. I added soy sauce to my rice as I needed to. There wasn't a lot of chicken at all in the chicken chow mein. The sweet and sour sauce tasted very processed. We wondered if this was all made somewhere else and sold on by this takeaway after heating it up. Disappointed and we'll go somewhere else next time. I don't like leaving bad reviews but it's important customers know where to spend their hard earned money, and where not to. I am really not a fussy person.

Avoid the chicken otherwise fantastic.

WARNING! We decided to order from China Garden last night as the previous two orders from Dragon & Peacock have been disappointing. We had no idea how bad things could get! (2) the mixed hot appetisers are dry. Yes, it does say ‘dry spare ribs’ but even so, a little bit of separate sauce of some kind would have been appreciated. It was all too dry in the mouth, especially the seaweed which was overly salty. It was more like salt seasoned with seaweed – inedible. (N23) and (129) contain potent chilli that we had to pick out, and although N23's description mentions chilli, it doesn’t feature a chilli icon on the menu. The king prawns and beef were acceptable, as was the (38) rice. Mixed vegetables (176), mixed with what exactly, vomit? How can anyone get vegetables so wrong? This was absolutely disgusting. Have they been frying everything in the same oil? We couldn’t make out what the additional extra flavour was but all the vegetables (across each relevant dish) were soaked in it, and once again, inedible. In summary, the meat is tolerable but avoid anything moist! Half of the food we threw away, and based on that experience, we're not even going to try the complimentary prawn crackers – they might be polystyrene based on this nightmare experience! If you want heavenly Chinese, make a pilgrimage to ChinaGaGa in Bexleyheath. That’s how it’s done.

First time ordering from here and i must say, absolutely amazing service. Food deliverd hot and and a little earlier than expected. Very tasty and will definitely order again.. Thankyou China Garden

Food was amazing! no complaint about that. However, whoever delivered my food was incredibly rude. Came banging on my flat door which partner answered, woke my 4 month old who i was trying to get to sleep, complained that my doorbell was out of charge which i didn’t know about and said my phone wasn’t working, which it does but obviously i was trying to get my baby to sleep. Neighbour let him in the building eventually but the way he spoke was so so rude and makes me never want to order from here again! such a shame!!

I've always ordered from China Garden. Always lovely food and timely delivery. Always advised if it is going to be a bit of a wait on busy nights.

Food ok but a bit cold and one request for a portion of mini spring rolls rather than the usual freebies. Asked them twice and they said that was ok but of course didn't provide. Phoned and said no spring rolls. Said they would send but didn't. Not being funny but it was an £83 order. Not using them again

reviewed this take away 6 months ago as excellent food,as they did NOT use Gelatin chicken.All change! now they do! Gelatin chicken from a tin straight from China! God knows what your eating??? not to mention the treatment of their animals! you can always tell when its gelatin as its rubbery and really soft with no texture. thanks but NO thanks they`ve lost my custom.

We stop here everytime when we fancy a chinese on passing to Hastings .Lovely standard everytime. The best bit we like, is that don't use Chicken gelatine out of a Tin! that is tasteless & rubbery texture,like most other Chinese take aways or even Restaurants use. They also do these Fine thin Noodles you can ask for which are nice in a Chow Mein. you can even tweak up some of the dishes of the set menu for what meat you perfer.Not found a better Chinese locally so this is our first choice.

Absolutely the worst Chinese I’ve ever had ! All the food was cold and over cooked in old fat. The food was artificially flavoured and greasy. I will not be ordering from here again.

The meal I had was tearable.Chicken balls soggy.Chicken tough and tasteless.special rice had a few prawns and other meet which I was a bit dubious about as tasted funny.Avoid this takeaway.

Really good person on phone for my takeaway delivery. Food was full of flavour. Just loved the Butterfly King Prawns. I would rate the food as top class compared to most other Chinese restaurants. Will definitely order again.

Used for the first time on Saturday 26 August. Food was great and the home delivery was on time and the food was hot. Delivery driver was very polite. We will certainly be using again. Well done China Garden.

Tried other Chinese takeaways in town but China garden is the best we've had by far. Been using it for many yrs now and never had a bad meal and even my very fussy children love it. House special curry and house rice is a must

Delivered spot on time, piping hot and delicious. We had the set meal for four. There was more than enough and everything was cooked to perfection.
