Absolutely terrible takeaway Chips are grim and always forgetting items. Forgot my curry sauce today and then had the cheek to ask me if I wanted it now or later ? My meal be cold by time it arrives. Avoid this takeaway at all costs

Staff very friendly, chicken fried rice not bad better if the chicken was of higher quality for the price you pay, chicken balls in batter looked like they had been re-heated in old oil to the extent that the outer batter was dark burnt orange in colour not light and fluffy and the corners of the chicken inside we're way over cooked due what I can be 100% sure these balls we're re-heated not pleasant at all thumbs down from me no quality control sadly (the seagulls enjoyed them though and the chicken from the fried rice)

We have been using this takeaway each time we come to Edinburgh for over 2 Years now, This week, it was a big let down. we ordered one Roast Pork with BBQ sause and one Beef Curry with chips, every bit of pork was so hard it had to go in the bin, and the curry had lots of like white thickening powder spots, very disappointing and we will not be using this takeaway again.

Friendly staff and really quick collection order. Got food and tasty. Order direct for better prices! Easy to get hold of on the phone after I made a mistake on my order too.

Ordered a munchie box everything was rock solid and over cooked felt like it had been sitting there for days springboks tasted burt was disgusting never had a problem with this chinese untill now

I ordered from here recently and I loved the food. We had two mains, side dishes and salt n chilli chips. Chips were a little too spicy for me but my partner loved them. I 100% use this restaurant again. Service normally arrives before or on time. Never late. Great wee local place in Leith for Chinese takeaway food.

Ordered a half duck (20 pancakes) and the hoisin sauce barely covered 6 pancakes. Also had to shed the duck myself.

The food is not at all up to the standard of Chinese restaurants, the place is visibly dirty and I don't understand how it can be open to the public. Nice owner.

Order placed online for delivery at 750 pm given a time of 1 hour. 1 hour and 15 mins and I call to ask how long. Person answering the phone said just cooking it should be 20-25 mins I stated the delivery time given BY THEM. and simply got told "Well it is mother's day " NO APOLOGIES OR EXPLANATION. As a career chef I KNOW IT TAKES LESS THAN 20MINS to prepare the dishes. SO THE FOOD WAS NOT JUST COOKING - IT PROBABLY HADN'T EVEN STARTED. At 2155 my food arrived and again no apology at all. Food was hot and tasty but staff are very rude and discourteous. last order placed before this had to be chased too. hence the review. I fully understand being busy , however as stated IMO as a chef the food was not prepared within the delivery time. The call handler LIED to me with zero apologies, discount or empathy for their mistakes. wouldn't order again as this is poor service.

Ordered a large order for x10 people. Placed order via Uber eats, one of the meals we selected was gluten free (and was stated on the app that the selected meal was indeed gluten free) 10 mins After placing the order and parting with over £150 we got a phonecall from them stating they don’t do gluten free. It was Awful communication via telephone. The woman on the phone was Barely understandable and it took over 5 minutes to establish that she said the chicken we ordered was in fact not gluten free and seemed to say they don’t offer anything gluten free? The caller then said ‘well, what do you want instead?’ Take note that the gluten free is a dietary requirement due to coeliac disease and not just a lifestyle choice, so we couldn’t just ‘pick something else’ The caller reluctantly took the meal off the order and seemed to fail in understanding that we also wanted to be refunded the boiled rice, as who wants to eat boiled rice on its own with no meal 😓 Stressful to order, disappointing to have one of our party now not get food when we’d already searched to accommodate. Cannot recommend this place.

Excellent Chinese. I have tried loads in Edinburgh but this is the best. Staff are lovely. Food is always tasty. Thin noodles are amazing.

We ordered a takeaway delivery and paid £17.60 - no prawn crackers??? Phoned up and found out that you have to spend £18 before you get free prawn crackers - how mean can you get? Will definitely not be ordering again. And the chicken chow main - your lucky if there was 5 pieces of chicken in it and a tiny piece of onion. Will stick to making my own in future, much tastier!

Great sweet and sour chicken, beef in ginger was excellent.

Waited one hour 20 for delivery. Food OK but two rice paid for and only one received. Tried to contact them but gave up. Lesson learned.

Just ordered special curry rice+portion off chips +special house rice which my wife said it was brilliant good value curry beautiful recommend oriental delight

Never disappoints! My favourite chinese, I order from here every time. Choice of thick or thin noodles in the chow mein. Chips always nice & hot. Generous portion sizes. Great service and always arrives quickly!

Outstanding place to get your food from. Great portions and the amount of flavour is stupendous.

Very slow delivery and not honest about when it will come. Food ok but won't order again as it took over 90 minutes to get here.

Walked in.. Got fried rice.. Took it out to eat immediately.. Took it back as it was like warm and lumpy.

Sometimes this place is good and sometimes it’s not. Tonight it was not. Half the box of salt n chilli chicken bites was onions. Half the time they pay attention to the instructions and other times not. There is no consistency here. Sometimes the chicken is crunchy like it should be and others drowning in sauce. Shame really, because when they’re good, it’s great. But now you can’t depend on them.

Ordered online for delivery. Food was piping hot and everything was delicious 😋 Great value! Would definitely order from here again.

If there was zero stars that would be the score, absolutely disgusting service over the phone as well, over charged and never owned up to it, incorrectly priced online and claimed was an old menu on website which is not good. Shop also unclean and outdated with food that does not woo, be careful people mad man

Hangover cure that has everything you need, if you're local this should be your go to place for take out Chinese, avoid the low rated ones in this area some are atrocious but this definitely is by a mile the best in the area.

I order delivery from Oriental Delight regularly and have tried quite a few different things off the menu. The food is always hot and tasty, and I always enjoy what I try. Would highly recommend!

I ordered some food from here off of just eat and after not getting my food and having to call them they then gave me the wrong order. I called them up again and they told me they couldn't do anything about it because it seemed 'suspicious' . I won't be ordering from here again, such rude staff and lazy delivery drivers.

Husband ordered a delivery. Chicken & Mushroom soup was very good. Chicken breast curry was good though not sure it was fresh chicken chopped, looked like bought in chicken cubes. Dry spare ribs were certainly dry - very dry and well overcooked and black. Hardly edible. The beef and mushroom dish was disgusting. The meat looked like it was half chewed already and totally tasteless. That and the ribs got binned. We have ordered from here many many times but this will probably be the last time for a long long time. Very disappointed.

I ordered three dishes and asked for not so spicy, not only was it spicier than normal but it caused a reaction in my mouth and my partners. Almost as if it was intentional. Additionally the flavour is not bad for what you get but its ALWAYS swimming in excess sauce/soggy, so much so its just filler to give your dinner weight. Also, my Kung Po barely came to half way in the container and over half of that was veg and of course more sauce, so not great value for money. Honestly, this is my last time ordering from there, they’ve had enough chances.

First time ordering from this restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. Fresh veg, the lemon chicken options were a surprise but really nice (we had lemon and orange sauce), we loved the pork in the pork vegetables and the ginger in the mini vegetarian spring rolls was zingy. Would definitely order again!

There is no better in our local area, everything well flavoured and piping hot. Shredded beef was crispy and delicious, other spicy dishes were actually decently hot. I have tried so many other local chinese takeaways but they are all dreadfully seasoned and lacking in flavour. Highly recommend singapore noodles if you like very spicy, duck fried rice for something rich and tasty and black bean chicken for a garlicky sauce.

I’m so disappointed. The crispy shredded chicken was anything but. It was so soggy, that it was like calamari. The mini spring rolls were so undercooked they were white and the flavour was not good and clearly frozen. In addition to the normal 1hr+ delivery time. I just wish I would’ve taken a photo. There’s no good Chinese in Edinburgh. It’s just a shame

Had a very poor experience tonight with this takeaway. Firstly the food took 1hr 40 mins to arrive and once it did it was luke warm at best and soggy. The delivery driver had given my bottle of juice to the previous customer so I didn't get that. I had ordered a beef chow mein but they sent me a chicken chow mein. So overall it was really disappointing. Have used the takeaway before and it was ok but won't be using again.

Delivery to Abbeyhill arrived within 30 minutes. The food was good and there was plenty of it - I'll definitely be ordering from here again.

I ordered shredded chicken in honey/bbq sauce & shredded beef in honey chilli sauce which was grey. The chicken was disgusting and they were nice enough to add a massive hair in the egg fried rice. I advise ordering from anywhere else!!

Family run place which has stood the test of time due to the authenticity of their dishes. I can't say I've tried their entire menu but their sweet and sour pork is exceptional, as is their crispy shredded beef.

I had hot and sour soup, and just a right balance for not being to spicy. Spare rids salt and chill, beautiful, and finished with banana fritters, tasty

This place is right down the street from our place and has become our local take out now because it is so delicious! Every dish we try is better than the last. The food is consistently great and the staff are lovely.

The food was delicious but the delivery service was awful, probably the worst I've experienced so far. Food arrived more than 30 minutes earlier than requested. I wasn't home and the restaurant didn't bother sending me an email or a text. Came home to a delivery guy with a bad attitude complaining about having to seat in the car for 15 minutes. How about you deliver my food at the agreed time instead?

One of the best Chinese's I have had in ages! Food was literally being put in the bag as I walked in to collect. On my next trip to Edinburgh I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Just got food from complelty unsatisfied 1 hour 15 mins for delivery for a place 5 mins down the road. food was over greasy and bland in taste ....wont be returning 2nd time this happend thought a would chance my luck and thought a was maybe just pure bad luck the first time so gave it a 2nd chance and wish a didnt now ... wont be returning

Delivery was late after estimated time by 30mins. (Waiting 1h 30m) Food was rubbish!! Beef curry had a nice sauce but beef was chewy. Sweet and sour sauce had a nice but the chicken balls where so heavy and pasty. The special chow main was so salty and dry. Also charged me £3/4 extra and said I was looking or had an old menu when I used there website menu!

Called an hour and a half after ordering and my order was still in the kitchen. Oriental Delight said it would still be another half an hour before delivery. Ridiculous wait time.

Terrible customer service when I called to find out why my delivery was late. Woman who answered the phone couldn't have cared less if she tried. As i was taking to her she was too busy talking to delivery drivers and serving customers in the shop. Wasnt the least bit interested in trying to find out why my order was late, she even put the phone down on me twice. It's a shame really as I used this take away before and never had any complaints. I will not be using it agsin though.
