Emma was fab found us a table without a booking on a busy Sunday afternoon and the food was amazing

Lovely warm welcome and the lady new weekend manager offering a friendly chat to all the customers as she attended to them. Excellent service, good pizzas and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the views over the river whether for a drink or food. Saw this place a couple of years ago while travelling past and finally got to revist the area to walk and experience the Brittania Inn. A good find.

the waiter was unwilling to sell the second beer even though he had to wait 20min. for my friend to finish her first beer. he said he wanted to close early, so he left me 20min. without a drink 😡😡😡😤😤😤!!! next time i see that arrogant idiot serving i'll go somewhere else!!!!

Popped in for lunch last week. Staff were really accommodating of my requests to amend my salad, have sauce on the side, to keep and monitor calories. Chatted to me about options, made me feel very welcome. Good location, too

We visit here whenever we're in the area. Always lovely service, great food and great atmosphere. Roasts are my favourite so I'm very picky, but would recommend the roasts here 10/10! We're hoping to pop back again when we're in the area in a few months time - looking forward too it.

Finally got some food with the of the view at the Britannia overlooking the river Mersey. Been coming here for awhile and it’s the best it’s been.

Food was lovely and brilliantly priced. We come on Tuesday and was half price pizzas which I highly recommend. Staff were very useful and polite. The fella who served us Phil was very helpful and a proper lovely fella the type off people that should work in that industry will definitely come back just on the service alone :)

Probably the worst service I've ever got to have the unpleasant experience with. Wrong drinks, no plates/sugar/spoons/ tissues for any of the coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolates, out of date products and simply zero customer focused attitude. 1st and last visit....

We went there for Christmas lunch around 14 of us , the service was amazing especially one waitress who went all out beyond to help my mum with her meal x

Come here quite a few times, love the carverys and as of late been having the brekkies. Cannot complain as food is good, fresh and tasty. Only downside is eggs can be dry and no runny yoke but thats it. Will be back.

What a lovely surprise. I have passed this pub many times on the way to the airport but went in today for the first time. The food was delicious hot and obviously freshly cooked. The staff were very friendly. There seemed to be many regular customers which means the food is good all the time A very good experience. I will definitely be going back.

Our family Came for christmas dinner there was a lot of us, staff worked so hard, it was a very warm christmas day and the place was so busy, but the service was fantastic from all the staff. Food was lovely and fresh, we all enjoyed it. Thank you for a lovely day.

Such a shame, this place could be so much better. The place is tired, always dirty, the tables are generally sticky and the food is the worst I have experienced from this chain. The Greenhills two miles away has far superior food especially the pizza, the toppings are almost double what they are here and its cheaper too. The views and location are great.

We had the standard carvery, good size portions of meat, lots of choice of vegetables but only one pot of gravy. Still, the food was hot, not dried out, was kept topped up on the carvery even though it was very quiet for customers probably due to Storm Bert

Food ok, just. Bar staff unhelpful in my case. When I asked if I could have a tequila sunrise with apple juice instead of orange, I love tequila but citrus fruits are a no no, I was told NO. I would have to have orange, even though the apple and orange juice cartons were clearly visible next to one another. I settled for another drink mixed with apple juice instead ! Jobsworth or what?

People who rate this place have the taste buds of a WW2 veteran. The carvery today I'm sure was 3 weeks old and the burgers from a tin. Absolutely terrible food. The ice cream machine was also broke just to top of the day. The pints are also quite expensive as well. Kudos to the male worker with glasses and a beard. This lad was ran off his feet. Serving food, behind the bar, doing orders. Only after the ice cream machine was broke did what I assume was the manager come out to help serve food along with another female worker. Views are decent though but that's about it tbh.

Buffet breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice and everything was nice and warm.

Went for breakfast here last week,Place is absolutely lovely overlooking the river mersey,(worth to go for even a coffee and chill with the view)... staff were very nice,,, was very clean,,, sausage bacon beans and hash brown were lovely,,, the eggs looks a bit tired to be honest when we got there but more were eventually put out... give it a go,,, best views ever for the river mersey... X

Nice place for a quick bite to eat. Went in at tea time and it was nice and empty. Sat at the closest booth with a nice view across the Mersey. Like that you can order via an app or at the bar. Ordered via the app which was quick and easy. The drinks and food arrived super quick all lovely and hot. The chicken starter was soft and very flavourful highly recommend and the cheese garlic bread is delicious. The meals followed shortly after the starters delivered by lovely friendly staff. All condiments and cutlery were already the table and plentiful along with napkins. The food was really nice I chose the fish and the batter was just amazing melted in the mouth with fresh flakey fish it came with peas and chips. The peas were well peas lol but the chips were slightly undercooked and a little hard but still a nice meal I’m just being picky at the chips. Son got a burger and said it was cooked well and delicious and enjoyed the chocolate cake to finish (very rich chocolate flavour) Atmosphere was nice the booth we sat in was a little dirty with food down the back of the seats but that could have been the previous guests as it didn’t look like old food again being picky to try and find something to balance out a really good review Parking was plentiful and decent size car parks only criticism is at night it’s super dark and finding your footing and also your way out of the further car parks is hard would benefit from a little lighting again being picky Prices are reasonable and I would recommend and return to this place for another meal.

Good food, especially on too good to go! £3 for a really good roast dinner. Beer is very standard, and bar staff have always been a bit avoidant of customers in my experience, but overall it's decent prices and good food. Lovely views too!

Absolutely disgusted by the discrimination shown against hidden disabilities. We made a booking for Christmas day, my son has ASD and struggles to cope when surrounded by people in enclosed spaces. This was explained to management and a specific table that was suitable was guaranteed for 3pm, as other family had work commitments earlier. We received a confirmation email of the booking and all seemed fine. That was until we received a call informing that our booking had been cancelled for 3pm due to them reallocating the table to a customer in a wheelchair that wished to book it instead. This is clear discrimination between a visible disability and a hidden disability when this specific table was the only one suitable for either person. This left our family high and dry for our Christmas day meal.

Called in yesterday just for a coffee didn't have much time place was busy but everything was running smoothly, spoke to Lisa Phil Nadia and Phil and Theo all the staff that where working all very friendly and lovely will call in soon for a meal

After my dad being terminal for 18months and end of life since January. He passed in August. Mum and dad were together 60 years, so mums heart is broken. She hasn’t been out of the house since January other than dad’s funeral. Saturday was a special day as we had friends from Australia visiting so we arranged a trip to Liverpool to see “Sister Act” at the Empire followed by a meal at the Britannia inn. We had booked and our table was perfect, we needed an accessible table as mum is a wheelchair user. Service was top notch, Emma and her colleagues couldn’t do anything more to make our experience better. They were thoughtful, helpful, friendly and smiling all the way to the end of their shift. 5/5 isn’t enough, the food was hot and fresh, the table was spotless, glasses and cutlery clean and shiny. I can’t wait to go back.

Visited today for dinner the lady at the entrance sat us down straight away She took us to the seats just by the carvery . The venue was clean staff were quick to clean tables, my only one small issue would be maybe more ventilation in that area, it was really hot and stuffy in that area by the ice-cream machine and our ASD child struggled with the heat that end of the pub but again minor thing to maybe acknowledge for any future refurbishment within that area. The kids menu wasn't great for vegans or dairy allergen however dessert the option of a fruit lolly ice was there ... The kids meals arrived so quick and the carvery was so fresh everything cooked properly. We used the 25% off booking when registered which bought the total bill down to such a good price for all of us ☺️

Discriminatory against hidden disabilities and disgusting manner with customers. I went in person to see if they could accomodate a booking on Christmas day for my severely autistic brother. He loves to go out but needs to sit in a secluded area or he can't cope. They had 1 booth that would have worked perfectly and the manager on the day said it wouldn't be a problem at all to seat us at that table for 3pm Christmas day, he refused any sort of deposit up front and said that's not how they do things and that I'd be contacted separately to pay this, I even received a confirmation email of the booking with the time noted on it. A few days ago I received a call from a very rude woman who said they had moved us to 12.30pm instead, I said that I couldn't do that as I was working until 1pm and that we were already confirmed for 3pm, she said she'd put someone else at 3pm now and that they took priority as they had paid deposit, I explained how I wasn't allowed to pay a deposit and that it had already been sorted what time and table we would be sat at. She said there's nothing she could do and I'd have to speak to the manager. I spoke to him today just for him to explain that another group with a wheel chair user had booked after us and that was the only wheelchair accessible table and he refused to accommodate us. I obviously understand the struggle of needing a wheelchair accessible table, but a visible disability shouldn't take precedence over a hidden one JUST because it is visible. He explained how that was the only table they could sit and and I replied how that's also the only table my brother could sit at, so why did someone else take preference over him just because his disability is hidden but no less debilitating. The group who booked after us should have been the ones moved to 12.30pm and not us. If we had booked after them he wouldn't have moved their slot to accommodate us so why move us for them just because their disability is visible. We're honestly disgusted at the discrimination to hidden disabilities and the way we were treated and would definitely not ever recommend going here.

I come here with family quite often and it's such a lovely place by the river, lovely in summer and cosy in winter. The chicken fajita pizza is the best pizza I've had - a new favourite. Staff always friendly and service is very good. The value for money is excellent.

Having left it late to find somewhere to eat on a Saturday evening a short walk from the Holiday Inn Express in Leith. We eventually decided by majority to try Britannia Spice located almost beside the hotel. To our surprise almost any table was free. When we saw the varied menu, the option of South Asian or Western dishes, and then experienced the delicious food everyone enjoyed, the personal and excellent service, our surprise turned to astonishment that it was so empty. But it was our gain. A wonderful dinner experience a step away from a busy hotel!

Superb service, comfortable surroundings, great staff. I am a coeliac and diabetic and Ray (the chef) and Emma ((front of house) couldn’t have been more helpful. (I asked for their names so impressed was I by their service). Full marks. I am definitely going back!

Nice pub right on the bank of the river with a wide view of the wirral. Lots of tables inside and outside for watching the world go by. Only had a beer or a coffee so far so I'm reserving the 5th 🌟 for when I try the food 😉. Good prices though when I checked it out 👌🏻.

Terrible experience. Meat was dried out from sitting under the hot lamp (cover with tin foil would help). Couldn't open a tab, so I had to pre-order desserts. Yorkshire puddings were pre made (aunt beessie?) and small, and despite that, I was told only 1 allowed unless you paid extra for a big plate. Not a lot of choice foe the veg, I thought I lucked out when I saw fresh come from the kitchen but had a label full of what I am assuming is (not) butter...... service was non-existent. Table wasn't cleared and I had to ask for desserts. They took 15 minutes to arrive, and the sticky toffee pudding was cold. Wouldn't recommend it, don't bother, just find a Toby Carvery!!

Nice place. Service is pretty good, pleasant. Food is a little hit and miss especially at the carvery. Had to ask for it to be put in the microwave on occasions but overall I enjoy visiting

Visited this place for the first time for a Sunday lunch. It was very busy when we arrived so we were glad we booked in advance. Food and drinks are ordered by scanning a QR code on the table, then ordering through your phone. Despite being busy, the service was quite quick, and the carvery wasn't bad. The meat was cut a bit too thin for my liking, but was otherwise ok. The prices were also reasonable, so a decent place to visit, and I think we'll be visiting again when we're in area.
