Noodle'N'Ice in Edinburgh, City of

I ordered ramen for dinner, the broth is water and had no flavor. 0 elaboration. Nothing like the taste of conventional ramen and the truth is that very displeased with the food.

By far the best meal here in Edinburgh! So authentic and the place is so clean.

To start i'll simply comment on the main attraction, the food. Which was simply not good and overall just very bland. I ordered the miso soup with tofu pieces which honestly tasted like it was made from a sachet and the mix veg stir fry bao buns which again was just very bland and tasted very cheap, there was also mayo in the bao buns. Mayo doesn't belong in traditional bao buns. My girfriend also left a review and mentioned how you guys tried to basically bribe us with a 5 star review in exchange for a 10% discount, the owner of this establishment then had the audacity to imply my girlfriend was lying about the 5 star review part in their response to her when they stated "we do not ask customers to give us 5 star reviews, we ask them to just give us a review". No! You guys are the liars i remember the waitress specifically stating she was willing to discount us 10% if we left a 5 star review. I understand why you guys are denying that in your response to her though, it doesn't look great on the business at the end of the day and quite frankly the lack of professionalism here is as frustrating as the food was bad. I hope you guys can take this constructive critcism on board to hopefully better the business and not con people out of their hard earned money with this mediocrity, good day.

Excellent food and service as always!

I had chicken katsu curry and it was delicious! The price was in the low £10 range. The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly.

The food was really good. I had the tempura prawn ramen and it was delicious. Also the service was very welocming!

Good food, great service, very nice atmosphere

The food was very good, we had special stir fry rice and the options were available for chicken, beef and also for vegetarians. The service was exceptional and the waiting staff attentive.

Despite the fact that I can't use chopsticks to save my life, I did enjoy myself. Great atmosphere, good service. There was a mistake with my order and I got a complimentary coke. Nice people! My second thai food ever.

Despite relatively low prices, the quality and quantity of food is very low. Moreover, the ordered drinks were not delivered but were charged to the bill. Of course, the matter was clarified, but this combined with poor food does not leave a good impression.

Smells bad inside the restaurant and it was freezing - looking at the other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. Asked the waitress what ingredients were in one of the noodle dishes (because it doesn’t say it on the menu) and they got short with me and said “noodles”. The company states “authentic Thai”, but it couldn’t be far from it. My pad Thai tasted like it was cooked in an old and unwashed pan, there was no egg or sauce/flavour in my dish and the ingredients in the pad Thai weren’t what you usually find in one. I very rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience really annoyed me.

No atmosphere. The most depressing chicken ramen and noodle dishes ever eaten. The ramen was like dishwater. Left almost all of it. Staff didn't care and asked for a tip, nope! Spring rolls and gyoza, bought in for sure. The spring rolls were like the ones you get from your local Chinese takeaway for free when you spend over £30. Overpriced, freezing with no heating on in -2°C temp. An absolute disgrace.

Amazing food. Tasted great and was speedy as well. Everyone working there where brilliant, generally a really good place to go to eat.

We ended up here after receiving horrible service from Ikigai next door. The service was lovely and the food was delicious 😋 I had the Sweet Thai Basil + rice. Good selection of food. Really good find and will definitely return.

I randomly picked a menu, a chicken katsu curry. When it came out, I wasn't convinced with the food as they separate the curry and the rice. But when I tasted it, it was very good. I guess putting the curry separately is for avoiding a soggy chicken katsu. So, I definitely will come back again to taste other menu. Plus, the waitress was very accommodating and kind.

Good place for a warm soup, pad thai, and beef fried rice. Fried spring roll and gyoza can be improved. We were a group of 5 and the place has a long table and chair enough for us.

Service was Horrible. Guys talking on the phone on camera so hard to approach him. Cold place no service and not even WiFi. Utensils were dirty Food: I kid u not I have never had such tasteless and odd textured food in my life. It was presented okay, but tasted bad. So bad I payed the Full 21 pounds and didn't even eat finnish it. Atmosphere: was alright, it looks nice but u can see why the store is so empty. I really want to vomit.

Pad Thai was really bland. No real taste, a real disappointment. Good portion size but try somewhere else first. Took over half an hour to arrive and the place really wasn't busy.

Small serves, huge price. Stir fried vegies more like soup. Pad thai taste was ok but basically noodles and a few prawns. Chicken katsu was mush. Authentic? No

food is served hot which is great although service sized isn’t that much as compared to usual western food serving size. Paid 15.50 for the chicken katsu and a glass of coke.

Definitely recommend this place, I had Singapore noodles and Beef Ramen, food was really tasty and staff (Ganga) was very welcoming and friendly.

Pad Thai Noodles were just what one wants for a late dinner. Service is very attentive.

When I arrived I was welcomed to seat and was given the menu to choose what I wanted to eat. I ordered Padthai and Baobuns. I asked what was the doe of the buns made of the lady didn’t know. When the food came was fairly quick I asked for a glass of water they didn’t came with it I had to go to the counter to ask for it. They were constantly seated and on the phone behind the counter. The food in terms of taste was super weak the shrimps were not seasoned. Felt like they were recently defrosted. The buns were okay for what it was. Other thing that I’ve found super bad for the restaurant I had always “food flies” hovering around my food. The place looked clean but having those means that the place is not disinfected properly. It’s super overpriced for the quality. So overall my experience was not the best, I hope with these pointer’s you can get better at provide a service to the customer.

A great little find in Edinburgh - the staff were great, the food is reasonably priced and tastes delicious. Would recommend!

Nice food and nice waitresses. Decor is a little worn and music choice is dull. Fair pricing - not too expensive and good quantity of food provided. Better seating where it currently is next to the windows, better music and brighter colours could help improve the appeal of the restaurant. Many people seem to look at the menu in the window and walk away - offers could help,along with pictures of the food and nicer/brighter interior decor/flooring could help. The restaurant doesn't feel inviting and the window display could attract more customers. I only went because I knew I wanted noodles and noticed the sign when going past.

Sweet and sour sauce was so weak Chicken and pork was flavourless Fried sweet potatoes and salt n chilli chips were so dry like they had been cooked, left to go cold then microwaved

We ate there yesterday with a friend and we really well served and take care of.

I am sorry but I cannot give more than 1 star. I ordered Papaya Salad and what I got was nothing at all look like papaya salad. Not 1 strand of papaya in there. I would rather they let me know the papaya salad wasn’t available so I can order something else. Please tell your customer if you are sold out not give them something else. So disappointed.

Yesterday I went to noodle n rice for my lunch. The food was extremely good and portion was good enough for single person. And the service was also very good and jolly staff. Highly recommended

One of the worst Thai restaurants, or any restaurants that I have ever been to. Terrible portions, overpriced, subpar food and found a worm in friends order. Truly wish I did not waste my money.

This place is horrible. Worms in the food bad service they don’t give you any meat and it’s overpriced. NEVER GO HERE IT IS HORRIBLE.

We both had pad Thai, it was nice and a decent portion. Our waitress Ganga was lovely, working very hard as she was alone.

Didn’t realize that “authentic” was an absolute joke. Zero flavor and how can someone mess up a simple miso soup is beyond me!!! Absolutely disappointing and a massive waste of time. Stay hungry than go to this place.

Cashew nuts chicken with rice is supposed to be a Thai dish but it turn out to be neither Thai nor Chinese. Satay is most ridiculous. They served you 3-chunks of chicken breast meat in a stick. It’s totally different from the picture in the menu. Staff also didn’t inform us tat picture on menus and actual is totallly different. Horrendous.

Popped in for lunch today. I had the chicken chow mein which was delicious. Super fresh produce and cooked well. Portions are large and prices really good. Service was very quick.

Everything is Halal. I tasted Beef ramen and Vegi spring rolls, the flavour and spice was a bit low . . the portions are big and satisfying.

Good and plentiful dishes, with £40 for two you will leave more than full and satisfied, fast service and friendly staff! Super recommended!

If I can save even one soul from ordering the sorry excuses for bao buns I consider this review a success Poor value for money overall, very pricey for what you get. No love went into this food. Our feedback on the quality of the food when prompted by the waiter was met with a shrug and a disingenuous 'oh...sorry' with no follow up Do yourself a favour and walk a little further to go elsewhere.

The food was terrible, the curry had some tiny pieces of beef, literally 10 grams of meat & the sauce was extra watered down.

Waiters were very accommodating and friendly, would def come again!

Decent looking restaurant, the food is mostly microwaved and the Bao Buns are dreadful. Staff are fairly quick but have very little experience in a restaurant and handled our complaint poorly.

Delicious ramen & curry dishes with such friendly, smiley staff. Clean and spacious inside, plus very quick service. Check them out!

Really disappointing, popped in for a quick bite before a Fringe show. Initial service was ok, order arrived and one dish was wrong. So was sent back. Goyza was warm and stodgy with wet and browning lettuce used to dress Plate. Duck Bao Bun was ok but very little filling or sauce also with wet bagged salad on plate. Beef soup when it arrived had very little noodles and a large chunk of gristle in it. Meat is obviously purchased preprepared and thrown in. When complained apologies but no offer to remake or take back. Very little was eaten Was then presented with the full bill. I know I should have been more confident and challenged it. Also heard a fellow customer complain about their food. Felt sorry for the serving staff.

We order ramen with grill chicken, the boiled egg and the chicken are both over cook.

Pratik was outstanding. He made me feel welcome here and was extremely friendly and catered to my needs. He recommended me some really great ramen, i loved it so much. If i was an employer, I'd never let go of such an amazing employee. Thankyou for making my day! And the staff was outstanding. They made sure everything was clean and tidy. Great experience :)

Sub par quality noodles, seasoning is totally not on point. The food took 15 min to prepare — it’s just stir fry noodles, took way too long. The noodle lacks a variety of flavour, texture is completely off. 12 pounds for a tiny portion — I will not pay over £8 for this dish, even in this economy. The staff was friendly but does not save the food at all.

Great food and people. Ganga and Pratik was definitely two of the best people that served is. I am so grateful for them.
