Had the best noodles here today.

Cashew nuts chicken with rice is supposed to be a Thai dish but it turn out to be neither Thai nor Chinese. Satay is most ridiculous. They served you 3-chunks of chicken breast meat in a stick. It’s totally different from the picture in the menu. Staff also didn’t inform us tat picture on menus and actual is totallly different. Horrendous.

Popped in for lunch today. I had the chicken chow mein which was delicious. Super fresh produce and cooked well. Portions are large and prices really good. Service was very quick.

Everything is Halal. I tasted Beef ramen and Vegi spring rolls, the flavour and spice was a bit low . . the portions are big and satisfying.

Good and plentiful dishes, with £40 for two you will leave more than full and satisfied, fast service and friendly staff! Super recommended!

If I can save even one soul from ordering the sorry excuses for bao buns I consider this review a success Poor value for money overall, very pricey for what you get. No love went into this food. Our feedback on the quality of the food when prompted by the waiter was met with a shrug and a disingenuous 'oh...sorry' with no follow up Do yourself a favour and walk a little further to go elsewhere.

Decent looking restaurant, the food is mostly microwaved and the Bao Buns are dreadful. Staff are fairly quick but have very little experience in a restaurant and handled our complaint poorly.

Waiters were very accommodating and friendly, would def come again!

Really disappointing, popped in for a quick bite before a Fringe show. Initial service was ok, order arrived and one dish was wrong. So was sent back. Goyza was warm and stodgy with wet and browning lettuce used to dress Plate. Duck Bao Bun was ok but very little filling or sauce also with wet bagged salad on plate. Beef soup when it arrived had very little noodles and a large chunk of gristle in it. Meat is obviously purchased preprepared and thrown in. When complained apologies but no offer to remake or take back. Very little was eaten Was then presented with the full bill. I know I should have been more confident and challenged it. Also heard a fellow customer complain about their food. Felt sorry for the serving staff.

We order ramen with grill chicken, the boiled egg and the chicken are both over cook.

Pratik was outstanding. He made me feel welcome here and was extremely friendly and catered to my needs. He recommended me some really great ramen, i loved it so much. If i was an employer, I'd never let go of such an amazing employee. Thankyou for making my day! And the staff was outstanding. They made sure everything was clean and tidy. Great experience :)

Sub par quality noodles, seasoning is totally not on point. The food took 15 min to prepare — it’s just stir fry noodles, took way too long. The noodle lacks a variety of flavour, texture is completely off. 12 pounds for a tiny portion — I will not pay over £8 for this dish, even in this economy. The staff was friendly but does not save the food at all.

Please, don't waste your time and money here. The food was terrible, and the staff didn’t even know what they were serving. I ordered Beef Katsu, but they brought out the wrong dish and insisted it was correct. I regret not paying attention to the reviews—I ended up wasting both my time and money.

I’m so happy to have found an Asian resto, Thai resto, while i’m here in Edinburgh. As a lover of Thai food, it’s really really good. Will be back while i’m still here. :) Also, the staff are very nice and accomodating, they keep asking if you are okay or enjoying your food, i like that. :)

The food was okay, but we had to wait quite a long time for it (although the lemonades arrived quickly). Subjectively, the price seems quite high for the quantity and quality of food we received. The food itself is not very harmful, which is good. Plus they close quite late, we were able to come for dinner when other cafes closed.

Two days back we came for Dinner the food was nice and the staff was really sweet spoken and friendly. So we came back next day but the other waitress was rude and annoyed. Yesterday was our last day at Edinburgh, we went back for dinner and the girl served us day before was there, she was extremely kind and her voice is so sweet dealing with customers.

The food was very very good and the service was absolutely amazing. The background music was great too. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Edinburgh.

I went to the restaurant around 22:20 and asked for chicken soup. The employee rudely said they were closed and only had takeaway service. At that time, people ate at two tables. I waited 10 minutes to get my food and when I got home there was only some carrots, onions and water. I couldn't see any chicken and no bread was served. It was very liquid. When I returned to return it, they had bought a new table. If there is one rule to any business, it is all or nothing. Everyone who walks through the door is a customer. As someone who has been in the service industry for 12 years and works in the service industry, I did not like it at all. And I condemn your work. Also the staff were very rude. Poor quality service and scamming people for product worth £7.5

Not a great place to eat at all! I'm visiting Edinburgh as a solo traveller and when asking for a table for one the two girls behind the counter laughed at me. They also proceeded to stare at me eating throughout my whole visit. The food could have been better, the duck was okay but very fatty and the vegetables served with the bao buns were dry and wilted. The presentation of the food was abysmal. I would not recommend eating here.

I ordered only 2 thing and it takes more than HALF of hour to prepare, while there was literally only 1 person before me. I don't get how it could take so long, just 2 popular main? Even the fine dining had it faster? The food is too salty for me I think, nothing special, not good but not too bad.

I just went for a meal here and paid in advance of the meal. Yet, when I left, a waitress did a public humiliation on me by running out into South Bridge to accuse me of not paying in front of the passers-by on this busy street. Avoid this place in case my experience happens to you.

Really enjoyed the food here at Noodle 'n' Rice. Very flavourful ramen and enjoyable atmosphere. The duck bao buns were a little disappointing, but it didn't ruin the rest of the experience. I would readily go again.

I recently had a great dining experience at a local Asian restaurant. The Singapore Mixed Noodles were a standout—really good and incredibly filling, with a perfect mix of flavors and textures. As a starter, the Spring Rolls were crispy and delicious, paired with a tasty dipping sauce. Their Fruit Punch was a refreshing and well-balanced drink. The Ramen also impressed me with its rich broth and well-cooked noodles. Overall, a satisfying meal that I'd highly recommend! Our initial order didn't go through, and we waited for 30 minutes to place an order again

Good ambience and service. The food was a bit of a letdown. While my lemon rice noodle was good,my husband's tofu fried rice was quite sweet and reminded us of nasi goreng from bali. My son was felt his fried noodles was ok too. Bao buns were ok. The veg gyoza was ok. Overall nothing that got us excited.

If could give zero star I would as this experience was the most terrible. I came for 3 days trip to Edinburgh with my sister and her partner and came in to this food place to have dinner. My sister and her partner ordered a vegetable Ramen soup which was reminding us of a dish washing water, it was no taste and no vegetables in the ramen. Was the most disgusting dish I ever seen in my life, no taste. My dish was an egg noodle sweet n sour chicken. The egg noodle was tasting like a watery over boiled pasta and chicken was tasting fridge and watery. We complained to the waitress who was very rude and tried to explain this dish should taste like this. We ate so many times this dish in Wagamama or other noodle places in Manchester and the tastes was totally different. After the dishes we all had belly pain and diarrhoea. When I said to the waitress I don’t like the dish she didn’t offer any discount or anything. I only ate couple of spoon from my dish and I left it. I never leave dish on the table but I was scared if I eat it I’ll have food poisoning. When the waitress came over I explained her I don’t like the dish and is not tasting anything like it should be taste. She was very annoyed and laughed and said to me ‘firstly this is not a pasta this is an egg noodle and secondly it should taste sweet n sour’ I replied back to her this is the main problem this dish doesn’t even taste sweet or sour it just taste water. I offered to pay her even I shouldn’t but she didn’t even offer any discount. We split the bill and my dish price was 10.50£ and she even charged me 11.50£ for I don’t know what reason. I was very disappointed because we travelled 5,5 hours to Edinburgh and we was very hungry we was hoping to eat some nice dish to get back our energy and we ended up more hungry and scammed as we had to pay this amount for a terrible food. Please if you are coming to Edinburgh save your money and energy and go to somewhere else, you might going to pay more money but it’s better than paying less amount and throwing out from the window. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

We had lunch here yesterday and were very unhappy with food quality. The Grilled Chicken Ramen came with very old tasting Chicken. And Beef Basil also had rubbery tasting beef. I think this place is not buying quality meat. And or keeping meat for too long. I would not go there anymore.

I ordered chicken ramen, but got a separate meat piece in it which I think is beef, but the waitress told me that it was duck and not beef. But I was not happy with what had happened.

Great little place for having good Thai cuisine. Great options for vegetarians as well and at very good prices. Amazing taste and service, good selection of drinks and satisfying curries. Would 10/10 visit again!

No atmosphere at all on a Friday when everything else was so jam packed. I wish I’d checked reviews before going here. Ramen was spicy despite not mentioning it on the menu and it’s been our most expensive (and definitely our worst) meal after being in Edinburgh for 4 days. The tempura prawns were nice but pad Thai wasn’t great, along with the ramen.

During my visit, I ordered Pad mee and Salt n Peeper fries. The salt and pepper fries came out as normal fries with black pepper sprinkled upon it and raw onions and green pepper. Pad mee was not up to the level. The noodles stick together and make the ball type structure and taste appalling.

Apon research, it seems that this is a garbage tourist trap and they don't care too much about their product.. According to proper reviews you should AVOID this establishment..

Don’t come here!!! We came here because we were very hungry but in most pubs the kitchen was closed. The menu is quite random, as it has dishes from different Asian countries on it. The waitress didn’t seem to be so motivated, as she didn’t gave us glasses to our cider, so we had to drink straight out the bottle. Als the food was served she forgot to give us cutlery, so we had to come after her to ask. The food was horrendous. It wasn’t hot, more slightly warm. There was NO salt or other seasoning, total plain in taste. We ordered the gyoza, pad thai and the katsu curry. It was awful, please don’t waste your time and money here!!

Really enjoyed lunch here. Foot was fresh and tasty. Came out quickly. Be aware that if you order everything at once, it will be brought to the table all together. Loved the music. Service was great too. Easy to get to . Would recommend.

Visited last Tuesday and ordered Pad Kra Pao... The food arrived in 10 which was suprisingly fast and it tasted quite good.. the host Ganga was very attentive and always had a smile on her face.. would definitely return if coming to Edinburgh again...

Hate to leave a negative review but …. Ordered take-away last weekend for my husband’s birthday. Food was very VERY disappointing It was completely tasteless. It looked bland and tasted bland. Nobody finished their meal. That was the first time we ordered and, sadly, it will be the last. Complete waste of £55. 😫

Service not great. Satay sauce was a very small serving, tasted Indian, not Thai and the chicken was pink. Papaya salad was tasteless. Noodles were ok.

Abysmally deplorable experience. My friend and I decided to dine here earlier today and we have agreed to express our concerns online. To start off, the atmosphere felt like a prison cell as the place was deserted, quiet & the waitress stared at us & eavesdropped on our conversation for the hour we were there. The food (beef ramen, chicken fried rice & peri-peri chips) were all undercooked, probably days old and reheated & left a nasty fishy aftertaste. We were charged an astonishing £30 & not allowed to split the bill. We have been left queasy and are undergoing an onslaught of digestive malfunctions after eating this grey slop of ‘food’. We would strongly recommend avoiding this tourist trap & eating elsewhere!

The Chicken katsu curry was bland and watery (wouldn’t recommend) but the chicken chow mein was better. The place was very cold so not comfortable to sit. But the young girl who served us was very polite and hardworking. The chef took more than half an hour to prepare the two dishes although the restaurant wasn’t busy so only visit if you have long time.

My friends and I had chicken ramen, sweet basil chicken and pad Thai. 10 out of 10. Food was tasty and juicy If you ever pass by South Bridge and don't know where to eat, stop by this place, I really recommend it

Freezing cold. Customer service is non existent; sitting and waiting for 15 mins, got our own menus and then had to get up and ask to order and get table cleaned. Wouldn’t have given them the 1 star for customer service either. Food is below average, far too generously priced for the quality u get.

Very unlike me, I walked into this restaurant before reading the reviews. I immediately regretted that once I sat down to check Google, but still I decided to order something simple to give this restaurant a chance. The food was ready in less than 10 min, which is already concerning. The miso soup was beyond terrible. It was a tasteless white broth with barely any miso flavour that I could taste. I don’t understand how you can mess up a miso soup. I also ordered some hoisin duck bao buns, which I guess were ok-ish although they were swimming in mayo. My friend ordered a fried rice which was overcooked and soggy. Given the time that it took them to bring the food, I assume they prepare it ahead of time and reheat it. The crispy fried calamari lacked seasoning and just tasted of fried batter. The service honestly wasn’t much better than the food. We asked if we could be seated at the back and we were told no because there was 2 of us and those tables were for 4 (the restaurant was and remained half empty the entire time we were there). No water. No asking how the food was… That’s it, I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. There are so many great places to eat in Edinburgh. Don’t ruin your trip coming here.
