Oriental Chef in Broxbourne

I've been getting food here for years. looks like it's changed ownership again. hopefully they are a lot better than the last. the food I had on Saturday was nice and tasty hot. however I picked it up. my only gripe was price. £9 for chicken chow mein and a pancake roll. I dont know how that compares with other restaurants.

Had a take away. The food was hot, fresh, tasty and large portions. Had enough for dinner again the next day. Will happily get from here again.

Disgusting Place! the chicken they delivered was RAW in the middle!! The beef was stone cold in the middle (it had clearly been microwave heated) and the rice was just DISGUSTING not mention being only half the box! What on earth are they doing?! I shall be reporting Oriental Chef to the Council (Health and Safety) as this is simply unacceptable. You cannot serve raw chicken and stone cold beef to customers - its disgusting!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

rude staff absolutely worst customer service I've experienced I've been ordering here for a few years but I'm definitely going to stop giving them my business rude an food is average sometimes bad everythings rushed an recooked, wouldn't advice anyone to order here.

This place was never amazing but it's hit a new low. The portion sizes have reduced, the prices have increased a lot and the quality is really bad. Disappointing.

Just love the duck pancake rolls. My delivery today 3rd May 2023 was quickly delivered, hot that my glasses steamed up, the delivery driver took a broken clothes horse down to the bins (I'm disabled) & food tasty as always. Still love the duck pancakes. Thank you

The Malaysian curry is amazing! The food is always delivered hot and on time.

I dread to call the restaurant on the days I order. The blonde girl that answers the phone on Sundays needs to have a lesson or 2 in customer service. She's so rude and quick to get off the phone. Sure it might be busy but doesn't mean you can be rude to customers. I work in a takeaway answering calls and I would never treat my customers how she does. Very very poor.

Lovely food. Young lady taking orders, as always, polite, helpful and very human. One of the main reasons we get our food there.

Absolutely disgusting and tasteless food having ordered a variety of different dishes for a big group we can honestly say everything was awful the food was just horrendously bad never again some of the food smelt like plastic and left a bad aftertaste 2 people on the group of 6 got food poisoning!!!! That’s how bad the food is here this place should not be serving food this bad.

Ordered of just eat had chicken curry chicken in black bean also had banana fitters so very happy with the whole meal would order again.

Can I give 0 stars? My husband ordered from wrong Chinese and am gutted! Food was all brown, even the chilli beef sauce. Noodles smelt off, sweetcorn soup like water, everything recooked & inedible. I just hope what I did eat hasn't given me food poisoning.

Tasteless food and terrible customer service. From the moment I called to make an order, the customer service was poor. All the food was bland and disgusting. The chicken balls tasted like leftovers that had been reheated, to the point that it was extremely crunchy. None of my family could eat any of the food. When I called the shop to complain, they said "it must be my taste buds." I had to take the food back to the shop and complain again. Fortunately they refunded part of my money, but I still had to order food from elsewhere in the end. I am not sure how they got a 5 star rating from the Foods Standard Agency. Maybe this is new management that's gone wrong. But read the other reviews for yourself. This place needs to be closed down. Please save your money and go elsewhere!

I used this chinese for 9 years when i lived in freezywater. Then i moved to cheshunt and then we noticed the quality was going downhill so we started using another one in cheshunt and it was like chalk and cheese. I am staying near there for a week so i thought i would give it another go i ordered beef curry beef, chow mein and crispy chilli beef which was £17. What i got was rubbery reformed chicken and mushroom, greasy noodles with a few bits of over cooked beef and half a portion of really hard rubbery chilly beef with loads of Onions on top. I am just sorry i cant post pictures never again

I am a local guide for Google and i leave my ratings stars on price, taste, customer service ,delivery time, and portion size...the price for beef in black bean sauce with green peppers, special fried rice, dumplings, prawn crackers £17ish without delivery charge from just eat. The taste omg it was so nice! The black bean sauce was nice and thick ,i made a few alterations to the dish no chilies no onion . Special fried rice pretty much bog standard , dumplings are made if pork and i swapped the sauce for a hoisin sauce and I didn't have to pay extra prawn crackers standard..customer service was very good i called after making my order on just eat to make sure they got my message about the alterations abd tge lady was very polite. Delivery time was excellent. Portion sizes was the way it should be

Placed an order via just eat, phoned up to enquire about prawn crackers, the woman on the phone was rude and hung up on me. When I phoned back was told I couldn't speak to the manager and I had to speak to her. My chop suey had grey prawns in it. The shredded chicken chow main had hardly any chicken in and the special fried rice was rock solid. I will be finding a new Chinese shop

Absolutely diabolical! The meat and prawns were not cooked! We spent £30 only to literally taste one mouthful and then chuck the food away. Do not order. How has this place not been shut down? Gordon Ramsey would be disgusted. Had to order a curry from somewhere else now!

Called them tonight to complain they sent half portions on 2 of the dishes. The lady on the phone was kind and said the chef insisted he served full portions and that the manager was busy. Won't use again.

Ordered and my food was due for 8, 10 past 8 I received an update that my order is due to 8 :40. 8:45 still nothing. Cancel it as I wasn't sure if I will eat something at all.

Avoid!!!!!!! Food totally disgusting and cold. Delivery took over 1 and half hour. Delivery guy didn't have change. Totally awful.

Ordered some food, had the money taken out of my account all for them to wait 35 minutes after they accepted my order to then cancel!! Not even a phonecall nor email to notify me. Worst customer service received with poor attitude

This Chinese needs to get shut down! I found a cockroach in my noodles and when I rang up to complain they hang up on me. I've told everyone about my terrible experience and two of my friends had diarrhoea after ordering from them.

I ordered my food when i received it had some of my order wrong called them and they said would send me the correct order but they wanted the chow mein back dread to think it will be sent to another customer i could have done anything to that food in my opinion a mistake was made by them they shouldnt have asked for it back dread to think if they do that to other peoples food

Terrible customer service! Definitely won’t be ordering from them ever again. Their food and hygiene is awful, there was a cockroach in my rice.

We use this one a lot. We order on Just Eat and it is delivered extremely quickly. Sometimes you find there's the odd thing missing but nothing too major. The food itself is nice and usually arrives still warm.

DON'T from this takeaway. I felt ill after eating here. Looked at there hygiene rating online and on the 18 July they were awarded a ZERO STAR RATING!!!!!. This was on 18th July 2018. If these dirty so and so's can't be bothered to clean there filthy rancid kitchen don't bother.

Do not order a takeaway from this place!! Waited over two hours and when I called to Chase was told it could be another 20 minutes only to receive a call 20 minutes later to say there will be a further delay and they had also run out of part of my order! Terrible service...

Food was ok the battered prawn balls were over cooked the prawns were not clean either so I didn’t eat them but the rice and chow mien was ok nothing to write home about I usually order from tasty house which is a full 5 star but unfortunately they were closed due to Chinese New Year

Ordered a takeaway from there last night (17/02/18). It was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time!

Great food almost always early, I have no idea what some of the other reviews are saying this place is my favourite

The BBQ spare ribs were absolutely disgusting. They were an off putting orange colour, seeping oil with bits floating in the sauce as well as excessively salty. When I rang to complain I was told that they "were always like that" although I have been ordering from the same place for ten years. The person on the phone continued to shout at me and tell me he would not deliver me something new as there was "too much traffic" I am utterly disgusted with the service in which I received and will not be going back there.

Went from being the best Chinese food in town, to the worse in town when the shop changed hands, the business was sold to people that know nothing about Chinese food!

Mixed up my order twice I called the 2nd time for a correction & the guy was shouting &;very rude. When I addressed his attitude he put the phone down. If you want bland food & bad customer service then waste your money here.

In the site today it says open 12-11pm I went to the restaurant at 14:30 it was closed

Friendly and clean, with a fairly typical menu and very good prices. Quality of the food is excellent. My only complaint is that the waiting area is colder than my ex wife. If you want a Chinese in this area this place is the best.

Don't hate it until u tried it...... The food there is better than some of the restaurants in China Town, Leicester Square

Use this chinese takeway all the time, never let us down, their food is best in town. Infact i'm about to order right now.

If you want a decent chinese in Waltham Cross Oriental Chef is the place to go. Great food and it's not expensive.
